I love this park. Come to Maines capital and visit this park to get best view of the capital building. Enjoy a picnic, a stroll along the paths in the park or wander across the street to playground. Bathrooms are open to the public in the State Library / State Museum during regular business hours and in the summer there are port a potties at the entrance to the Kennebec Rail Trail by the playground. This a dog friendly park, and paths are accessable but not entirely paved, some parts may get too soft to navigate when it has been raining a lot. Have a great visit!

This park is so beautiful. It's great for outdoor yoga classes, dog training classes, picnics, hanging out eith friends, playing outside games such as Frisbee or kanjam with friends. There's also a small sidewalk that goes around the perimeter of the park that you can walk on to get some daily exercise in. There's also a small playground next to the park which is super fun to play on and is great for small children. There are a lot of big trees on the park that provide shade for the super hot and sunny days.

Peaceful and quiet, cool under the trees. Where the rains had not drained well, they had formed a very shallow pond near us, where ducks played and made us smile. The Maine Vietnam War Memorial stands here, too, somber and solemn.

Spartan, yet beautiful park with tree lined walking paths. Lots of tables and benches to sit and relax on, all in the shadow of the Capitol building. A wonderful place to stop for a br AK on my way through town.

Wide open green spaces with a great view of the Capitol, especially at sunup/sundown and at night with the Capitol building all lit up. Easy to access and always very clean. Sometimes can be a bit noisy due to its location, but it’s large enough that most spots aren’t loud enough to spoil the day. Great spot for family photos or photographers looking for an easy but engaging location.
