Honestly never been to this one because it it so far away from were we live, I won’t even try to go to this one because of the 10 year old who died here, just here to say that the one in new braunfels something like that is better then the one in Kansas

Adam Nichols

All the links are deactivated on their website. You can't purchase tickets to the park online. Local news stations have already been reporting for months that the park is in bankruptcy and has numerous debts. The door to their administrative building / storage shed has been open 24/7 for weeks now allowing pests and rodents to enter. No grounds or landscaping crews have been working on the property allowing it to fall even more into disrepair. Construction crews and tractors have been digging on the east side of the park. They've been renting out their parking lot to car dealerships or rental companies as well. It almost looks like they're deconstructing on the site. I've had friends that have worked there in the past and said: "it was a terrible place to work". Many of the other reviewers on here said" "most of the rides were closed" or "shutdown" last season and that "the concession stands were all closed", but they still had to pay full price for admission. The place is an eye sore! The press also reported that the owner / former owner (Jeff Henry) is in serious legal trouble and currently charged with drug and sex offenses, not to mention the ongoing Verrückt investigation. There's a new Legends Outlets East development currently underway. Schlitterbahn Waterpark Kansas City will not re-open. Even if they tried, no one would go or take their kids there. All things considered, would you? Their rides are either broken or extremely dangerous. The evidence is conclusive! You can read the report online.

Fide Andre

I would certainly not recommend. This is a very sinister park as it is the decapitation site of a 10 year old, CALEB SCHWAB, google it. I am in shock for this place to still be open. I hope visitors are aware of this.

Jeffrey Short

We went to schlitterbahn today and half the rides were closed. They had a sign at the front saying rides were open at certain times and they did not open when advertised. When asked, employees stated they did not have the lifeguard staff to man all the rides. If they are going to charge as much as they do, they should have all the rides open or not open until they have the staffing to cover all the rides.

Wendy Dunning

We love Schlitterbahn! We visited the park Labor Day weekend and the park had posted ahead of time, what rides would be operating on the day we were there!! Thank you!! We are very much looking forward to next season and cannot wait for King Kaw to be open! We also love the fact that we can bring in a cooler with food and drinks! Thank you Schlitterbahn for the fun!! We will see you in 2019!!

Tiffany

This is has been an amazing experience I went 2 years ago and it was a blast about to go this year can’t wait!!!

Emma Hockaday

A lot of the better slides where closed. The kids enjoyed it. Not worth the price compared to New Braunfels. Small enough to let your kids hit the rides and parents relax.

Chris Walkins

Not bad, just limited on smoking area

MrUranium235

so this is the infamous waterpark , such shame,

Michael Henry

Way overpriced!!! They want to charge full price for half of a park. Worlds fo fun/Oceans of fun has 2 full parks you can go back and forth between for the same price.

Heavincent Fromabove

Had a blast with the family. Short wait time on slides

KC C

Schlitterbahn is a joke. Massive safety risks. Only a few rides open. Anyone who pays to go to Schlitterbahn is supporting the decapitation of the child.

Amanda Allen

Arrived at the park today Sunday at 3pm. I will say the park is a blast, however after finding out after we pay admission entrance that 3 rides are shut down was very discouraging. To maximize our fun time we took no break before having our fun time, but 5 o'clock comes around and we are starving. We go to the grill (CLOSED) Sweet Shop (CLOSED) we can't eat anything. Park closes at 6 but everything is closed except the rides that aren't closed. Kind of ridiculous!!! Very dissatisfied this trip...

Arrianna Juic3

Who'd want to go here after the Caleb Schwab Tragedy 2016

M Hoover

It wasn't bad but we've been to schlitterbahn Galveston and Corpus Christi and expected more. We went during the week and they had about half lazy rivers shut down and said they were only available on the weekend? I mean I could understand if school was in but it's summer vacation time.

Jill McMullin

A lot of attractions were closed due to staffing issues. Still had a lot of fun, you can just ride around in tubes a day.

Annabelle James

Most of the rides were closed on a holiday weekend due to "lack of staff." There was barely anything to do and it was packed since most of the rivers and slides were blocked off. Could definitely use a better restroom cleaning schedule. I used to love this park. We still made the most of it but the kids were bored by 2.

Adren Cottom

Dont waste your time they only have a couple of slides and park is so packed you cant get on any ride

Brett Turner

They didnt have all the rides open

Therese and America O'Brien and Naparsteck

I have not even been here yet as I moved to KC in 2017, after the unfortunate beheading of a 10 yr old on one of their rides. I tried to call just now, and the phone is disconnected.

Johanna Harris

The park was very easy to find. I loved that it had free parking and you could bring your own lunch in. The kids loved it and only 2 rides weren't open. Great fun!

Sherry Brannen DBA Must Dust Cleaning

Very busy water park!

Bonnie Lee

So busy. Friendly staff. Clean facility. By the end of the day the bathrooms were running out of tp and hand soap. Will be back.

Ammon Heidi

Everything was good except the price of alcohol and service of bartenders you should not ask a customer for tip you will get tip when you provide your service in professional manner and if you deserve it

Denise Ellison

It's a great water park with the best possible setup for families with older kids. It all kind of goes in a circle so you can have them check in whenever they pass by. We've always been able to find a nice shaded place to "park" our things that we could use as a home base. So nice that you can bring your own food and drinks in. We usually still end up getting either some snacks or lunch from their concessions that are relatively reasonable for the setting. Free parking is awesome too! We are always able to find staff to address any issues we see or need help with.

Misty Hicks

This was an okay Park but I feel like big surf is just as good if not better and it's way closer to where we live. For the cost I feel like all the rides should be open 4 for patrons to use and if not you should not be charging the full price until they are open. You definitely want to pack your own lunch with your own drinks in a cooler to bring with you because the food and drinks are absolutely outrageous. You did have a good time how can you not when water and sun and families involved just feel like it was a rip off and they like to take your money!!

Mauri Brewer

Awesome time! Great for the whole family! We had a 1yr old, a 10yr old and an 11 yr old that had the time of their life! Definitely going back next summer!

Pamela Knight

Schlitterbahn 2019! I need you to open! This place fits my every need for water park fun!

Joshua Taylor

A few more slides and one or two more bars would be great. It'd be nice if all attractions opened when the park opened too, like Kaw didn't open til noon last time we went. But it's a fun place, lines for slides weren't horrible for a Saturday.

canaryinthecoalmine1

Super-friendly staff. Very clean. Free parking. Very clean. reasonable in-park food prices. yes, 2 or 3 rides were closed, but the park communicates this in advance via their Facebook page. Even with the few rides that were closed there is still a TON of water activities for everyone in the family!!

Jenni Guerrero

The park is a little small but the attractions they have are enjoyable. We made an hour drive and it was worth it!

Angie Albert

Way understaffed! A lot of rides were closed. I hope changes are made soon. It waa mich better before they were sued.

SammyJames

Awesome place, the employees were very nice and helpful, it's a bit on the pricier side, but I'd say worth it. And as for people concerned because of the accident, none of the rides that are still open are dangerous at all. It was also a VERY clean place. Even the toilets were extremely clean.

brian briggs

Worth the drive from Tulsa. The staff is very helpful and courteous, this goes a long way in making the customers experience more enjoyable. Tip... if you want to ride the world's tallest water slide with ease when you arrive in the park go and set a reservation time then go back at the designated time. You don't have to stand in line waiting.

K E

To understand Schlitterbahn, you start with the rivers and rapids and not tube slides. That’s what the home park is all about and that’s what this location thrives on. At the same time, King Kaw, the premier river in the park, has not been open most of the summer due to staff recruiting issues that management hasn’t solved yet so that’s why the -1 Star. Our July, Saturday visit: We arrived 30 minutes early and it was a light line. Arrival staff was friendly, we did a Groupon and it worked fine. Parking is free and they let u take food and drinks into the park, tubes were free, a huge savings. We were able to get a covered picnic table without running. we had a grand ‘ol time tubing around the river rapids all day and riding slides here and there. We got lunch there, didn’t take too long and was delicious. I’ve noted some negative reviewers seem to want a lot out of the park, perhaps too much. It had the feel of Schlitterbahn TX, home towny, not corporate perfection. Staff throughout the park was courteous and friendly. They have an incredible lifeguard staff, award winning, very safe approach throughout the water. So... there’s obviously a lot of context to this particular Schlitterbahn location, glad to hear the big elephant in the park will be taken down this year as it looks over everything. Time to move on from that tragic event. Thanks for a great day, we’ll be back and hope the park gets completed eventually.

Joe Blow

Very fun waterpark. Staff was awesome and safety is very important to them.

Jean Ragsdale

Love this park we come every year but this year we were very disappointed we left after only being there for 2 hours. I drove to Kansas from Colorado springs with 8 teenager's for a 3 day vacation at the waterpark and worlds of fun too. As I do every year. This year schlitterbahn only had 4 rides open in the whole park! Waist of $300.

BeatriceTheLunaFan Est.2004

This is a great water park, but you can't buy tickets online. You would have to buy tickets offline if you want to buy tickets for Schlitterbahn in Kansas City. It's pretty sad to hear that you can't buy Schlitterbahn Kansas City tickets online. I still like Schlitterbahn in Kansas City.

Kev

This was an enjoyable water park and free parking! I rate a 4 because I must compare to other water parks I have been to and I have visited better. I managed to visit every ride in the park in about 2 1/2 hours so it's quick to experience.

Penny Lovelace

I cannot EXPRESS ENOUGH How I won't be taking any kids to THIS PARK! NOT EVER! Not even if it was FREE to enter.

Emilymoneymaker

A good water park! Some of the rides were closed but I for sure wasn't going to let that stop my family and I from having a great time!!! The river with waves was my best experience! Had fun jumping into the waves and of course they're going to be big, that's what makes it very fun!! Saw many kids enjoying them too. I recommend it.

Carissa Bezdek

My husband and I are on a little get a way before I start school again. We are literally sitting in the park right now, paid full price and only HALF of the park is open. The parts closed are the ones we were most excited about too...this is very disappointing when this water park is a big attraction in KC. I wish we could get our money back. This experience will stop me from coming back and bringing my family back.

Jason Weir

This was a nice water park for the family to enjoy as a whole. Just remember that half of the water rides are only open on the weekend before you go. Be prepared to spend over $10 just for a locker. On a good note however, there is free parking and you can bring your picnic into the park to save money.

Robert Seely

getting season passes for next yr was great

Gabriela Tortorelli

Perfect for all ages. We had a lot of fun. Be prepared to pay 25$ one locker but it is worth it.

Eric Seals

Fun but not enough for the price. 2 sets of 3 water slides that aren't that different. When we went 25% of the rides were closed which forced the others to be too crowded. Park was clean and the staff was friendly.

Limitless Productionz

Had an awesome time here! Not too crowded on Tuesday. Were a little disappointed that a large part was closed though (only open weekends).

Tez So cool fight

That was messed up the boy got killed and the two women Not good Sliter Bon

Judd Fetters

Our favorite water park hands down. Plenty to do, get to bring in your own food. Clean facilities. Everything about it is a wonderful experience every time.

David Wicks

i'm a lifeguard, wish i could give it 6 stars

Daniel Script

This is a ready good water park and is great for the whole family.

Jeff Lewis

If this was 20 miles from our house we would have a season pass and float around on our days off, however I am 3 hours away and it was not worth the drive at all!!! 2 real rides were open, but what they do is a ride that has 2 tubes they name each tube so on the website it looks like more are open. They also incorporate different areas of the lazy river as rides. We went on a Monday so several others were closed. We were mislead on the cabanas the $70 one only has a picnic table in it no lounge chairs. This place needs to be sold, the eyesore removed, and several rides added, that it has plenty of room for, and it would be great. It is way to worn down for the age. Real let down to drive 3 hours and waste a birthday.

Tara Henning

We used to come to schlitterbahn every year. But this year was really disappointing. 5 rides were closed, one of which was my favorite. Under staffed is a big problem from my understanding this year. Sad to see it going down hill.

Kammy Kel

Really planning on making a trip here..

Joni Sheldon

We had an awesome time. Such a great waterpark for the whole family!!

Brock Younger

First time out there had a blast.

Anything Goes

I had a great time until I tried the giant water slide and got my head ripped off. the local hospital did a great job re-attaching it though.

Eric & Beth Seals

Nice place but not much to do. We came later in the season and 25% of the rides are closed but we stll paid full price. So even though the crowd is down, the remaining rides sill have a wait. Staff is friendly and park is clean.

Crystal Rivers

Best place to go on your birthday.

TonyTheCat1

If I would rate more than 5 stars, I WOULD!!! Their prices are a little high, but OH MY GOD is it fun there! In The torrent river, I would stand by the wave generator and go in the whirlpool it created. SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!!

L. Melody Williams

Me and my King had an awesome time together, we were just upset that the whole park wasn't available for use. The did give us two tickets for free admission good thru next year. I guess we went too late in the season

Ariel Williams

The park itself is a lot of fun. The lifeguards are super helpful and constantly keeping up on their skills to ensure public safety. Lucky guests can actually witness staged rescues and skill work. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rides are a lot of fun, and competely safe if ridden and used properly according to the rules and instructions set forth by the park. And the use of names belonging to local rivers is super cute. A great place to visit for locals and tourists alike!

Melissa Rodriguez

Loved it worth the money fun but they had rides closed down so we didn't get to ride on all of them but my kid enjoyed it

Mandy Ockomon

Had lots of fun. Employees were not too happy.

Jennifer Acker

We used to love coming- last time we went last mont, half the park was closed down, including the entire rapids (the best part)... and 4 of the slides...and no one informed us of that at the desk and of course didn’t offer a discount

Kyle Yount

Smaller park but lots to do

Mindy Krovontka

Interesting. Kind of reminded me of National Lampoon's Summer Vacation at first. But the slides were fun and the two Rivers were so much fun.

Kirsten Clayton

6.18.18/ Gen Admit (2) adult + (1) child = $99.99// Despite knowing several of the attractions were DOA; this day has hemmorhged one disappointment after another. The community pool would have been much more satisfying. Would NEVER recommend this facility. BTW: the site should list what is open vs. closed.

Jenny Hrabik

Highly recommend! We had a great time. They are a little short staffed so 5 of the attractions were closed (that's why 4 and not 5 Stars were given) but there was still more than enough to do and we had a great day! We took four teenagers and one 6 yr old and everyone had fun. There is something for all ages and that is what made Schlitterbahn worth the 3 hour drive. The tragic event that took place a few years ago and knowing the slide is still standing (until all legal action is done) had me a little worried and had delayed our making the trip. I am now happy to say that the staff was all so friendly, the park was very clean and the fact that we could bring in a cooler with food and drinks all made for one great family day.

Trent

This has always been a family event for us. The park use to do a scout day and the girls always had fun. It was relaxing to just cruise all the water way. The park was connected by water! I’d give it a 5 star but with the negative stories, the park ran fewer rides after the accident. Also the disappointment of no news on this season. I hope the park opens this year, and I hope that it don’t close permanently. This would be a big loss for the growing area in KCK! If the park is open this year you can bring in your own food!!!!! Just no glass containers, you know the whole barefoot thing and glass don’t mix!

Jennifer wojtkiewicz

I wish more of the slides had been open.. they were closed because they didn't pass inspection. . Could be a great time, if they get it together. Otherwise, we had a great family day!

Jason Keeler

I fear this location will not survive. My family went recently on a Thursday in June. We arrived to find that one of the three rivers were closed. One of the three big slides were also closed. The Zip Line and Boogey Board area were also closed. In the middle of our visit, another of the two rivers closed because "water levels were too low" - which seems like an odd scenario for a water park. Furthermore, they recently changed the height restrictions to 48" for many things. My son, who rode all those last year, could not ride this year. Staff seemed to be new and uninformed, and they seemed a little understaffed as well. Also a concern. For the prices they charge (up to $69 for adults, and down from there based on age), we expected more of the attractions to be open. *Full Disclosure - they did comp up us two tickets at the end of the day after we complained to the front desk.* Parking is easy, and when up and running, there's quite a bit to do for people of all ages, including two different toddler areas. Plenty of concessions as well. When it was all up and running, it was a value. In it's current state, it's not worth the money and seems to be teetering on closure.

Emily Loethen

in the past I got passes to Oceans of fun, but this past summer I decided to try out Schlitterbahn and guess what, it sucks. It is way too much money for what they offer. their rides suck and all of their tubes were deflated so when you went down the slides you went really slow like. Definitely go to Oceans of fun (right next to Worlds of fun which is also fun, they are all one park now, so Schlitterbahn has a long way to go to even semi compete with Oceans/Worlds of fun), GO TO OCEANS AND WORLDS OF FUN!

Doug Scheidegger

4 out of 5 stars because one of their rides killed a little boy but other than the deathtrap of a ride it is fun and great for families. One piece of advice I would give any guy is to wear dark sunglasses because you don't want your wife or girlfriend to get mad at you for glancing at a beautiful lady walking by.

BigRick Fishing Inc.

I will not go there i hope they don't open 2019 they get what they deserve..

Denise Evans

Great fun

Abrah Jett

We try to come once a year and it's usually a great experience. This time was a little different they didn't have all the rides open and it was super upsetting. They told us to come back on the weekend..ok we drove 4hrs and your tickets are super expensive. Hopefully the experience is better next year.

Crane Industries

A fun place to bring the family. I just wish they would continue to build the Park bigger.

Jeanine Buehlhorn

Last 5 years...great that's why i gave a 2...but this year..drove 4 hours just for the torrent river and rapids and those to attractions were closed. Under staffed was the problem but come on, i can ride tube slides at any water park...the rapids and torrent river is what makes this park unique and they were both closed. I think we'll try the texas parks next.

Nate Morton

Good rides, too much death. Two stars.

Keith Hopkins

Their aren't that many attractions but the ones they do have are worth the admission cost. It had the best "river" simulation I've been on and the slider we're a lot of fun. Not to mention the food is actually good, I know it is surprising, but I'm not lying. The pizza you can order is better than most chains. Good family fun. And yes, they will find the alcohol no matter where you find it.

Matthew Gibson

We went there Memorial Day weekend and every single ride was closed. What a disappointment.

Josh Gramp

They don't even have the decency to tell anyone they will or will not be open for 2019. It's just shy of a month from when it should open so clearly they will not be opening as they have not even hired staff.

hell bound

My family had come here for many years around July, but when the Verruckt first started running the prices went way up and they lost our business. Since the mishap occured the prices have went back down. Today my family went and paid full price. We had the option of leaving all of our stuff scattered over the tables like everyone else or we could pay 16$ to put it into a small locker. Half of the park was closed including Boogiebahn, King Kaw, 3 of the bodies slides, Wolf pack, and over half of the river. They reversed parking and certain seating for the year long pass members, but I saw very little people in those areas. Saftey was not on the mind of the the park as most of the rides were unkept with cracks in the walls. Life guards were bobbing their heads and scanning the water so its apperent that current staff is trying to improve, but without keeping up maintenance and with lack of profit they are flurrishing. I would suggest going to Worlds of fun/Oceans of fun. as they have made less foolish choices and have been able to keep the park.

Handy Man

Cons; Half rides were closed. The seats look rusty and old. Just looks like it hasn't been upkept. Needs some tlc. We ate at the food area. Not very well advertised on where or what to do but once I found it we ordered a burger and the Tyson chicken breast. Both come with a flavored waffle fry. Maybe seasoned salt? Burger tasted like one from a convenient store and chicken strips weren't bad. Pros; got to ride every ride in the park that wasbopen as much as possible. It was great having 2 9 yr olds getting to ride rides. So all in all...its a decision wether or not u want to go to worlds of fun and wait in lines to have fun or come to a more desolate location with enough rides to still have fun but it's the same cost. I would recommend they lower the cost to $25 A person to attract others.

Michael Tutorino

I wanted to share my opinion on the ongoing legal battle over the death of the young Schwaab(?) boy...this was a tragedy to say the least, but I know I will get many negative responses for what I'm about to say, but it needs to be said. There have been many deaths and serious injuries from many different amusement parks throughout the United States. This is the "FIRST" amusement park that has charged any employee or management of an amusement park with "first" degree murder. If you look at who the father of the victim was in this case, it was a Legislator. I know what happened was a tragedy, but why is is that when a Congressman's kid is affected, that they finally do something about regulating these amusement parks that have killed numerous people throughout the years???? All lives are important enough to make life safe for "ALL" children and adults at these amusement parks. My question is why does it take a Congressman's childs' death to get something done????

Redge Allen

There is a lot of misinformation from other reviewers about this place. I tried to talk my friends out of going here based on those reviews. I'm glad they didn't listen to me. We had a great time. However, I'd like to clarify a few things: 1. Yes there is a lazy river (Many reviews say they don't have one). It's huge. Part of the river has waves. If you don't like that, stick with the other 70% of the river that does not have waves. The River runs the entire length of the park in a circle and we enjoyed it quite a bit. If you stay there, it probably takes over an hour to go around it completely. The water is shallow. I think it has a max depth of around 4ft so even if you aren't a confident swimmer you should be able to stand up as an adult. Small Children can get life vests. 2. Yes, the tallest attraction is decommissioned. A 10 year old child died there. I don't know what they plan to do with that slide. It sounds like it will be torn down at some point. Other reviewers said they still advertised the slide. I didn't see that anywhere. If you ask any of the kiosk attendants , I'm sure they would tell you it's not being used. This should also be obvious even from the highway given that there is no line to get up there even when the park is busy. 3. Yes they serve alcohol. There are large frozen margaritas available for $10. You get to keep the cup they give you and they were generous with the booze. The Bartender was also a cool dude. 4. No you don't have to pay for parking. It's free. 5. Yes you do have to pay for storage. I didn't pay for that but I think they said it was around $20 for the entire day. The locker is large. In our case, it fit 2 bags and clothes with room to spare. Other than the things mentioned above, the staff was nice and helpful. Mostly young 20 somethings working for the summer but they were pleasant and I think they did a good job with safety. It is very reasonably priced. Admission for one adult is about $60 after tax. If you come after 3pm, I think it's half that. I'm not sure what water parks you are going to if you think $60 for an entire day is totally unreasonable. Overall, I'd recommend the experience. Especially if you're looking to drink margaritas and ride the lazy river all day. If you're looking for extreme water slides and long lines, maybe go elsewhere.

Castille Ritter

Love this place! Short lines on a cloudy day.

Heidi Akerman

It’s a great place but I hardly go here because of what happened on Verruckt to a ten year old. Also my favourite ride was Verruckt before this happened I feel guilty cus I went on this ride the day before.

Autumn Morgan

Love this place!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ You can bring your own cooler of food and drinks. Ride lines are not long! I can easily spend a whole day here!!!

Jonah Loewe

Family fun everywhere, you barely have to walk to get to somewhere in the park

olsuga sanders

Oh what fun i had and met 3 wonderful chriatian women there who 2 were sisters. And the 3rd was everyonea friend. Clean place love the lazy river for ever.

CrazyTiger 735

Went to go on a saturday and they were closed

Gretchen Meitler

I love the free parking, tubes and the ability to bring our own drinks and food in. My children love all of the water options! Relaxing day out.

Heather Huber

Ride experience were awesome! Very helpful and attentive life guards. Swim up bar was fantastic and a lot of fun. Food vendors in the other hand were very rude and careless. Will bring own food if I return.

Amy Dirks

Pretty much just the lazy river ,wave pool, kiddie pool were open. U have to walk from one area to next nothing compared to Galveston or Corpus Christi water parks wish they would make it nicer since they want to charge so much for it.

Lacey Patton

Down with the whole park. Your no good and you never were

Thad C

My boys and I had a blast at this waterpark. Went on a Saturday and was able to move around the park and ride everything they wanted to ride multiple times. The key is to get to the park when it opens. We will be back.

Roman Gianna

The lazy river create a fun adventure throughout the park. Rides are varied in speed and height. The waterboard allows for knee boarding experiences at no extra cost. Entire facility was clean. Well supervised by life guards. Definitely a must do for our future trips to KC!

Dawn Long

Check the website/Facebook or call the park to set your expectations for open rides before going. This year, King Kaw has not been open on weekdays, that’s a big deal so unfortunately I gave 4 star because of closed rides (reflects on management issues if u ask me - they should have been ready for 2018 including the KS over zealous inspector), but today was otherwise awesome and we’ll be back for sure. We arrived 30 minutes early it was a light line. Arrival staff was friendly, we did a Groupon and it worked fine. Parking is free and they let u take food and drinks into the park, tunes were free, a huge savings. We were able to get a covered picnic table without running.

MAD LAMB XOX

When I went here, I just had this weird feeling that something was off. It's really easy to get separated from your group and it's dangerously overcrowded a lot of the time. Other than that it's just your typical water park.

andy vanderwerf

The family loves going there. Super clean water and friendly staff

Ann Roenne

Inexpensive and fun! We brought food and drinking water, and had a blast for the whole day.

Jason Lane

The park was way more fun than I expected, I figured my two young boys would enjoy it and that my Wife and I would just kind of be there for them. Turns out that She and I had quite a lot of fun, I expected to get banged around on slides and for things to be over priced but that's just not the case. Everything was reasonably priced, clean, happy, and friendly. The slides were all well made and fast, yet somehow I never was uncomfortable. The lazy river was really long and had an optional rapids portion that was so fun my Wife made us do it twice. The wave pool was made very cool with a wave corridor to ride through. Just overall a great time.

Juan Calvillo

Had a Great time, cannot wait to go back. This visit was even better than the visit 2 years ago. Felt safe and the staff was very courteous and helpful.

obesemuskrat • 9 years ago

Would be good if kids wouldn't die there

Erica Mace

This place is a mess. There is always a huge part of it closed down. The staff are not knowledgable at all in safety. I watched them do things numerous times that were not safe yet they claimed were "rules". I even forbid them from sending my daughter down in an unsafe position on the raft, she couldn't even touch the handles bc of how the life guard took it upon themselves to physically pick up my 7 year old daughter and flip her around in a direction where she could no longer touch. I'm not saying don't go here but there are many other choices that won't put you in harm's way or cost an arm and a leg.

Rent private boat cabana well worh it and get own servers to bring your drinks. Free lockers come with it well worth it.

Sheryl Tennison Cooper

I go to the waterpark with my family and without. I am so relaxed there, just floating around. You can bring your own or buy theirs. I like adult only cocktail pool. I can't wait till opening day!

David McKune

Several rides are still closed. Day to day maintenance has definitely dropped off - there was lots of bugs and small items floating in the water, peeling paint it all the water areas, dirt and debris on the bottom of the pools - overall sanitation has dropped way off.

Christopher Harsch

I love Schlitterbahn, I have a season pass and I still enjoy doing the rides and doing a float around the park. The best part about the Schlitterbahn waterpark is that you can get in a tube, and if you want, stay in the tube for an hour or so just floating around the park until you get back to your destination. Always a good time, and the member perks encourage you to enjoy the park with friends. Highly recommend.

Juan Arango

I love this place I hope it opens soon

Tony Pecina

On the News a 10 year old boy fell out of the tallest ride so l decided to do it and it was fun and the park was fun

S Myers

I loved this park. I am so sad that it isn't opening up this year. Oceans/Worlds of fun was such a let down. It was filthy and small. Schlitterbahn was THE PLACE to go. I wish we would have known it wasn't opening this year. Any news would have been nice, instead I just keep hoping they're opening late for the season.

Forrest Creek

I don’t think this park will reopen. The tragedy of 2016 and bad publicity have pretty much killed it off. If only people could be honest in their business practices and do things right and see to the safety of their guests, they would never have gotten in this mess. By the way, Oceans of Fun is only 20 minutes away if you want a good water park experience that’s clean, fun and safe.

Great way to spend the weekend. It's pricey but well worth it. Go for the 2 day value pass because it won't be possible to experience all the attractions included in just 1 day. We bought a 1 day but they let us upgrade to a 2 day pass before closing. I really appreciated that our 2 1/2 year old was free. It helped us out. We tried out the buffet and it was delicious. It was just about $5 more than the concession food served in other parts of the grounds. We came from Dallas for Memorial Day weekend and expected long lines but that was not the case. Our 6 and 2.5 year old loved it. We'll definitely come back in a couple of years.

Justin Lindsey

Staff was friendly, atmosphere was fun and my family had a good time. Lockers were really expensive. Smaller park but has some unique rides that other parks don't offer and it the best option for KC area.

Ruby Vargas

Place needs redo the stained woodwork, plants are burned up and dying from lack of water. Very sad to see it looking so rough considering cost of admission fees, family bathroom had urine all over floors, lots of bugs in the water. Very pricey for the park access per person. Glad we used Groupon! Far different experience than previous visits. Needs some bright colors & TLC to bring it up to speed and not so sad looking.

Cindy Morris

Miss it this year please open back up

Lenny Michaela

I love Schlitterbahn! The park has the best lazy river of any waterpark that I ever visited. The rides and rivers are a lot of fun!

Mitch Flentie

Many of the rides were closed as well as many of the concessions and the ones that were open closed at 4:30 for some reason the park closed early at 6:00. But they did let us know that when we were entering instead of their normal 9:00 PM closing time they said it was due to their inclement weather.

Brian Terry

I've been a season pass holder for 4 years and will likely not renew after this season. They changed their mid week hours at the beginning of the season (with no prior notice) to close earlier. Unfortunately this meant I could no longer go after work for a relaxing evening. Weekends regularly get filled with other activities so this made this last season not worth the price for me. Was very disappointed in this change that hurt season pass holders the most.

Schlitterbahn is a small water park but still a good time. The good things about it: short wait times for water slides, the rivers are no wait and relaxing, there are private areas to rent for the day complete with great wait services and free souviners, you can bring your own food and water into the park, no cost for parking, gift shop has great prices for clothes, swimwear and more. Schlitterbahn has "heroes days" which are recognizing military personnel, police, firefighters and EMS.... this year... the last weekend in May and every weekend through July 1st offered free admission to the above mentioned and 50% off for family members. These discounts make it a very affordable option for a family trip. The not great: customer relations staff are not courteous, quick or welcoming, about 1/4 of the park was shut down and bathrooms were out of toilet paper midday.

Stephen Cowing

-1 star because of wait times during our visit and -1 star for cost vs. value, otherwise it was a great place, the people were friendly and there were enough options to cycle through if you don't mind the walk back and forth across the park

Donald Myers

Well staffed. Safe for even the inexperienced swimmer

Matthew Koehn

The rides were great! Food gets 1 star.

Tom Lindsay

Not a lot to do here. You could effectively go on every ride within 4 hours

b1krboy

The family and I have been to this location a couple of times from out of state, we really enjoyed it every times. We came during the week so there wasn't a significant wait for anything and the kids were just old enough to enjoy 90% of the rides. We have young children so we splurged a little and opted to get cabanas which proved worthwhile for the kids had somewhere to nap after tons of fun in the sun. The food wasn't terrible for park food, and cabana service was always pleasant.

Lance Bedell

Great water adventures for all ages. The whole family had a great time.

rebecca barngrover

We went on a Sunday for the first time ever, we stayed all day and enjoyed the whole experience. They had a couple ride shut down because it's the end of the season but it was awesome! We like that if you got in an inner tube you can basically go around and around everything with the slides without having to get out We will be coming back next year.

Dan Jenkins

Our yearly trip to Schlitterbahn never dissapoints. Friendly workers, great prices, fun slides and rivers. Spending a day at Schlitterbahn KC is always a great choice. I love that you can bring a cooler of drinks (no alcohol) and food.

Ellen Mushock

A fun filled day! We reserved a small cabana. LOVED IT! You have shaded table and chairs, a valuables safe, free locker in the cabana village, ice bucket and bottled water AND a staff member to take food/drink orders. Also they give you 2 Schlitterbahn Beach Towels. There is a entrance/exit to the water right there in the village which is really nice also.. Worth the extra charge!

Nathan Clyde

Even though it was packed, it didn't seem crowded inside the park. Lots to do for all ages. Pricing was a little high... example locker rentals $25, if you wanted a cabanna it was $59. Lines for rides were a little lengthy, but we spent most of our day floating around the rapids.

john massey

Today, on the sign out front 5 attractions were closed. Admission was reduced to $28 per person (children charged same as adults). Lockers were $15, $20 and $25 depending on size. Children must be 48" to ride most everything...last summer this was not the case on some of the rides as we rode them. Today there was 1 slide my child could ride; however, the attendant running the slide was extremely rude and impatient. Also, one of the attractions that was closed today was the reason we went. Overall, not worth the admission. I will not return and wouldn't recommend it for the cost. On a positive note it is really nice being allowed to take in outside food and drink. Just beware, upon entrance to the park they will take the lid off of a yeti cup and almost submerge their noses into your drink (sniffing for alcohol).

Carl Williams

A sad ghost of its former self. Many rides closed and the central lift was shut off during operation. Seemed to be horribly understaffed. Left content, but if my call to cooperate concerning the issues isn't well responded to ill be wanting a partial refund. Hope things change, because it wont last like this.

Milquiades Nova Rodriguez

Oh waooo is amazing please get there

Keesty Forney

I don’t ever write reviews but these are the things I wish I knew before we planned a family trip just to go to Schlitterbahn: 1. Inefficient check in process. Took almost an hour even tho I had already purchased my tickets online. 2. We found out once we arrived that our favorite part of the park, King Kaw, was shut down due to lack of staff. 3. There is only one place to order food. We ordered and were waiting in line to receive our food and realized they were filling the orders sporadically with no rhyme or reason. So we waited almost an hour and ended up with only part of our food. We went to get a refund for the part of our ticket we didn’t receive. They did end up refunding our whole order because they don’t have a system for partial refunds. 4. Staff had a very “I don’t care” attitude. I asked several questions throughout the day to different staffers and the reoccurring answer was “I don’t know. That’s another department.” It’s seems they are all just wanting the summer season to end. 5. Maintenance of the park overall is lacking. We were there 3 years ago and the atmosphere now is totally different. Our last visit was before the tragic accident. I sure hope they can recover and turn things around soon. One big plus was computerized lockers so you don’t have to keep up with the key and that way anyone in your group can access the box.

Alicia Norwood

Super fun.. super good food and dessert... Every one Is nice and friendly I would come every day If I could

Harper Elizabeth

Run down such a shame. 4 of the best waterslides were closed because they were understaffed. But they dealt with a situation of injury very well. A friend I was with dislocated her leg while swimming.

Nicholas Muder

Rather small park. Rides dont have long lines, but are short and gets boring quickly.

Luc Niclas

Pretty nice place to go to. Just wished they had a still pool.

Titus Gitari

Great fun and exciting times here, definitely worth place checking out if you are in KC.

Catherine Nixon

5 rides were closed. 2 were slides and 1 was a large Rapids. Also is highly recommended to wear water shoes I would recommend it especially if you have sensitive feet.

Anna Northrup

Awesome family fun. Very affordable

Alissa Berryman

Can you not buy tickets online because I’m trying to and it won’t let me and it’s very frustrating when your trying to plan a trip!

Zachary Neuberger

Nice park. fun water attractions but a kid died on that tall slide a few years ago. Glad they took it down. I think the park is safe to go to now.

ZANE RENTFRO

i dont know if it is the best water park i have eve been to but last time we went the main ride(king kaw) was shut down or broken i dont knnow it was so bad we wait so lond they said like 5 years ago they are making the park bigger but all i see in schillterbahnn is dirt on the other side of the lot i thik tthey should stick with there promises.also the bathrooms are gross wont even go in there and the pathways are too hot tubes are always flat i dont know if i will go back but if the knign kaw is open i will go mabye only 1ce tis year because we will go to oceans of fun

Elissa Stewart

I come to Schlitterbahn once a year every year with my significant other, and this year we were highly disappointed. 5 rides were closed, one ride being one that we were looking forward to. The honesty of two life guards is what made us a little happier. Preston and Luke were really nice and listened to my boyfriend and I rant. The lady at Henry's Hideout ( Mackenzie I believe is her name) was also great. She did a great job serving drinks and making guests happy.

Jordan

My friends and I decided to drive 3 hours to this water park. We paid for our tickets, and the sign at the gate stated that all but one ride were functioning. As we walked into the park it surprised us that over half the slides were not functioning. There was nothing fun about this park. I hope everyone can see this so they can be warned that this park is a waste of money and should spend their hard earned money elsewhere. The best part of the experience was the sprinklers on the sidewalk and leaving! We paid full price for tickets to find out you have to pay another 20 for a locker we used for only 1.5 hrs. This park was a ripoff, it would be nice to have Schlitterbahn pay us back for the money we wasted in gas, tolls, tickets, and time wasted to unfortunately experience this sorry excuse for a water park.

Vicki Kramer

Had a great time here. Park is clean. Staff is friendly. Just know if you arrive early to buy tickets that you cannot enter the park until 11:00 a.m. We rented a cabana which was a bit pricey but was a good place to have lunch and rest. Lockers are included with cabana rental. We had no trouble getting on rides nor was there a shortage of inner tubes. Inner tubes are included with ticket price. My favorite feature is the wave pool. We went during a weekday in July and there were a lot of people but it wasn’t overly crowded. Plan to go again.

larry meyer

Well was great until it never opened again! Seems closed for 2019

Tiffanie Synacek

On Sunday July 8th, 2018 We started our day trying out the wave pool/wave river. Sign posted said 3ft. My 6 yr old is 3ft 11in. So my son starts to go ahead of us (he was not on a raft) and I was not expecting the waves to be over 6ft high. We come around the corner where the waves start which my son is about 50ft in front of me and my spouse. My son get taken under by a wave he came up crying, there was a life guard right in front of him as me and my spouse are literally rushing to my son. Another life guard was right where me and my spouse was at jumps in and rushing to my son as he went under again. I can say I’m very thankful for the life guard that was doing her job, for the other male who sat an watch my son cry and get taken under not once but twice. Shame on you and I hope no one will ever have to experience that. I highly recommend that signs should be posted letting new guest aware that water gets deeper then 3ft. Very upset and traumatizing for my son. Also give it a two stars as many slides/rides were closed!

Heather O'Brien

Very Disappointed. Took the day off to enjoy our Season Pass on a week day that wasn't so busy at the park. We were not allowed in because they desided to close the park at 1pm with it sunny and 85°. (the morning had been cloudy but even the weather said by 1pm no rain and Sun would be out) Because there were not many people at the park at this time they desided to close... nothing on the web or anywhere stating that they were cloing early. I understand that it might not be cost effective to have all workers and rides open when there are not many people at the park but instead of closing the park they should have closed some rides or areas and let those of us who made plans enjoy our day. Now we are walking into our small town pool that is opeto finish our day! They did offer some comps but didn't make it happen today!

Tophat Logistics

I loved this place but I can no longer stand to be there because of the death of caleb on veruct I feel so guilty because I was on the ride in the raft that went before his and I actually traded spots with him to go with my brother If i hadn't traded spots he would still be alive today if it wasn't for me

Andy Potter

You're welcome for letting you know your website was wrong. Thanks for updating it to the proper height on the wolfpack.

Lita Howard

This place is totally not safe. I hit my head multiple times going down a water slide and cut my arm open. When I went up to a life guard for help they told me I had to walk half way across the park to the first aid center and then promptly turned away and ignored the fact I was injured. This place is awful.

Cari Hallbeck

It's a fun place to go on a hot day. But rides are closed and they close the eating and drinks stands way to early!
