Well maintained trail, but stay on trail because there is a ton of poison ivy just past the mowed edges. Cass Ave trailhead still has the old manual pump well water. The latrines were closed, but there are clean, handicap accessible size portapotties.

Nice gravel path for cycling or walking. A few hilly sections and some faster twisties. Fairly wide so you can ride two-wide with a buddy, but there are some areas where it gets narrow or there are bridges, so it's important to slow for and respect the pedestrians that use the path also. Always dry here too when its too wet for other gravel/ dirt.

Beautiful walking, bicycling, running, etc paths. We walked a little over two miles of the 11.5 mile path. Then turned around to get back to car.

About 10 miles if you do the full circuit. There are three or so parking lots, going South on Cass Avenue, if you pass the first entrance just South of the I55, after the bend in the road the second parking lot will put you closer to the Rocky Glen Waterfall and Sawmill Creek Bluff Overlook. The Southern section has more shelters and a model airfield than the Northern one and you have the Argonne National Laboratory sitting in the center. Hiking along the trail you do need to be aware you share it with bikers, joggers/runners and people walking dogs. I also believe there are trails for horses here as I did see a sign at the parking lot.

I visited this place once in summer and once in spring and both are a wonderful season to go! We did finish walking the entire trail which is about 10 miles long, my legs really hurt but I am happy with this adventure. The forest is huge, the waterfall is awesome, the river is clean. Next time, I'll bring a bike so that it won't be too much exhausting.

Amazing nine and a half loop that circles Argonne national lab. Weekends are generally busy with bicycles traveling fast, so if you're looking for a quiet walk looking at nature it's best to go during the week. Trail goes through pine forests, wetlands with lakes and open grassy areas. The dogs that I've seen there all have big smiles on their faces, people too!

Some beautiful areas to explore but the waterfall itself is overrun by sunbathers and kids. Maybe going early morning or off season is the way to go. Lots of unmarked trails off the beaten path to explore.

This was hands down one of the most beautiful forest preserves I've ever visited. There are so many different trails to take both paved and non. The waterfall itself is so peaceful and well put together. There are so many hidden areas to explore and lots of mosquitoes but it's worth it! Bring your OFF Deep Woods and enjoy!

This is a delightful hike, run (and an even more challenging bike ride) on fine gravel. You need to get off of the main trail & go off into the less travel paths (when applicable) to find the bridges and waterfalls. The prairie lands are being revived and protected and they are on the come back. It's great to spot butterflies, dragonflies, Daddy-long-legs and grasshoppers again...

The loop is 9.5 miles. Crushed stone groomed trails. A nice variety of nature, with a mix of open flats and hills. Nice place for a long run or ride. Beware you cannot cut the loop and take a short cut.

Nine (point five) miles of various terrain, alternating between crushed gravel and pavement at each POI. Elevation changes a lot so be prepared. If you like scenic treks with water, flat fields and a waterfall, this is your next stop for adventure. Main trail is 9.5 miles, a few overlooks, some mysterious ruins, various POI, including a wide but short waterfall.

Always a great time hiking here. Understand if you go past 4 miles there is no return. The main trail is superb though. Not one piece of garbage on the trail, so make sure to keep it clean please cause I’m going back!!

Good nature walk. Obviously the waterfall is the best part but everything else around the area is pretty scenic too. Bonus points is that it's really close to the Argonne National laboratory. I usually go with family here but it's good for any occasion so long as the weather permits.

I love this place I have been going here for years it’s always an amazing beautiful place. It is a great place for the kids to burn off energy They have a little waterfall they can play in. There are plenty of actual wooded trails you can get on which makes the experience a lot better than walking just the main trail. Parking can get a little tight around there so if you’re planning on going on a nice day try to get there early. There are always bikes flying around on the trail so make sure you’re aware of your surroundings because some of them go pretty fast.

Wonderful place to walk or bike with the family. Miles of well maintained paths and some great side trails too. Make sure you make a stop at the waterfall, but also take time to home along the creek. There's all sorts of stuff to see throughout the whole area.

Do you love nature and want some time in peace and quite away from the city? Then this is the place. Spent around 4-5 hours and covered few main canyons. Couldn’t complete all the trails, but would definitely go back again to checkout the other trails too. They had cottage facilities too and they looked beautiful from the outside. The city was a cute little one with small eateries and local stores of popcorn and fudge. Loved the entire place and had a great experience. It’s a must visit if you really like to experience a small town close to nature.

This is a wonderful park for hiking biking walking jogging running, we took our dog for a fun walk to see one of the falls. The park has over 10 miles of trails that are well-maintained and have a variety of vegetation and Wildlife that you'll be able to see. There are a variety of places to start your Adventure from, some of them have more parking spots than others, but unless it's the busiest of days finding a spot shouldn't be too difficult.

Loved to hike here, we completed walking the entire trail and it is pretty easy for a beginner level hike. Its a great place for families too with easy trails and a great waterfall. The parking lots are spacious too. Adding one star less because the ladies washrooms do not have latches and the one in the main trailhead parking lot does not have individual doors :(

Very busy day on the paths because it's a gorgeous day. I was there before 9am thinking it would be early and not so crowded. I was wrong. Runners, bikers and walkers love to go early before the heat kicks in.

This place is pure perfection, it’s a little ways down from the main entrance where the road turns and you’ll see the cars if you don’t feel like the full hike. Seems a bit scary walking out by yourself the 1st time my little guy was like are you sure?? The entire way till we got to his friends, lol but such a great time. One of the other dads there was kind enough to help the kids catch some crawfish (yes Illinois has mud bugs too. So much fun to spend the day in nature you can find a trail or play by the pond. It’s just a perfect way to spend the afternoon or am.

This is a nice park to go for a hike or a run. Fair warning though, the waterfall is pretty small, so don't get your hopes up too much about seeing that. Still, I've been here many times, and I plan to go back many more.

Close to suburbs. Beautiful & natural, but too crowded. Snakes are seen often. Main parking is large but limited shades. Secondary parking is not mapped and unofficial. Not paved. Over all, fun place to spend some time with your kids.

It doesn't look like a waterfalls. It's just a river and the water is falling down from about 10 foot height. But we had fun in walking and cycling there. Wonderful place to enjoy walking and cycling. Great excercise.

If you are up for a long walk on a beautiful day this is the place for you. It can get crowded on the weekends but it is a great place with mile markers to measure how far you're walking and rolling gravel hills. Exercise here is gentle enough for even novice walkers, although I have never made it all the way to the waterfalls where I start, I think its 10 miles, I'll get there. I have started in a different place and have seen the waterfalls and it is pretty. There are a lot of joggers and some bikers so stay to your side of the road. I have sighted deer many times and there is plenty of parking and outhouses for emergencies. They do not smell pretty and the flies can dive bomb and be quite annoying, but in a pinch it will do.
