This Park corresponds to the category of Amusement park.
Pretty fun place. Great for ages 2 to 6. Nice rock climbing wall... Bounce house... Mini train ride... Pirate theme rides and playground. Nice for birthday parties.
This park is a great place to take your children to when you are on a budget. Kids were 12 bucks and adults were free. All of the employees had a smile on thier face and were competent in the task that they were doing. All of the attractions had at least 2 staff members. There was also a cute pirate show about a pirate dance. The food was good. I had the sausage pizza combo. Awesome place.
I'm an out of towner, and I don't have anything like this in my area, but this place is a good, cheap entertainment for your little kids.
I'm deducting a star because it can get pretty crowded, but with so many attractions for only $12, this place is fantastic for kids.
Pirates Cove is a jewel for parents and grandparents to take their young children for a pleasant park experience. The train is the Best Ever!
Very good place...a real place for kids plus adults can relax too. Still $12 per adult is little too much where kids are free : ), Party packages are way too high but I liked that we can bring our own food.
Another great inexpensive place to take toddlers too. They love it adults are free.
Omg my kids had so much fun!!! The only reason I gave 4 stars, is because I wish they had a few more attractions. But its Great for the little ones. Maybe 11 and younger.....
Red face for children 2 to 9 they only have about 7 activities but you can do them over and over again and the hours just fly by the best $12 I ever spent
Great place for kids 2 to 7 I would say. Lots of things to do.
Great place for kids to play. My kids loved rock climbing and paddle boat ride.
Very nice place. My daughter had a great time.
Cute but small. My taller 8 year old was okay for 1.5 hours doing the climbing wall and "helping" with his little sister but he was bored and ready to go at the end. My 2 year old clingy daughter cried on everything solo or would flat out not do it. She pretty much just wanted to ride the train over and over. My son would have loved this place at 2.5. I would say the best ages are 3-6 for most kids. Honestly we got our $11 worth simply because a mall train which isn't as cute costs like $3/ride so it worth it afterthe 4 trips on the train! :). Bring your own sack lunch and water.
Great place for a kid, I wish we would have discovered it earlier!
Great small amusement park for 2 to 9 year olds.
I took my two children, 7 and 3, to Pirates’ Cove Children’s Theme Park for the first time. We live about an hour away and we met friends at the park. I would have never known about this little toddler treasure if my friend hadn’t pointed me here. I think I was expecting a bit more with “theme park” as part of the title. The kids thought there would be a roller coaster and I thought they might have some sort of water feature (perhaps a splash pad area). The rides were fairly limited - a tiny carousel (which my friends jokingly called the umbrellousel), a spinning pirate ship that flies up and down, a nice park with a dragon slide, a stage, a jumpy house, a tall slide with burlap bags to slide down on, a rock climbing wall with three difficulty levels, kids mini hand-cranked paddle boats, a craft area under a large ship used as a picnic area, a rope climbing structure, and a mini train. So in all, we are talking about 10 attractions with three electronic rides. I’m not sure if I would count the craft area or the stage as an attraction, so if you take those away we are down to 8. That being said, the kids spent 5.5 hours at the park and still didn’t want to leave. I enjoyed that the value seemed to be good - $24 for the two of them. You don’t pay as an adult. We were very lucky to go on a day that was not busy at all. We went when rain was threatening and it was in the high 60s. I did note that there were a lot of areas that provided shade, had you wanted it. I also liked that they let you bring in your own food. I’d highly recommend packing lunch or, at the very least, snacks. My 7-year-old still loves parks, so he enjoyed pretending to be a pirate on the park. He didn’t really want to go on any of the rides more than once. He enjoyed the paddle boats and the climbing wall. You are suppose to be 45 lbs to climb the climbing wall. He climbed the wall about 20 times as my three-year-old and I went on rides with friends. The nice part is that the park is small enough that I felt comfortable doing that. It was only a minute to walk across the park to get to him. Overall, we had a wonderful day and I would recommend spending at least half a day at the park. We never had to wait more than a couple minutes for a ride, so we rode most rides at least twice. It’s a good value for the money and nice to be outside with the kids having a good time. I’d highly recommend going with friends since rides are not for adults. That way you can talk while your kids keep busy.
Great for small children
The place is really fun! It has a carousel, boat carousel, a CLIMBING WALL!, a short train ride, a castle, a pond for riding boats, it was just fun!
Lots of fun for kids under 5. Good time for kids under 8. Over 8 and I assume the kids will get bored.
Great place for kids, went many times when I was younger
good for couple of hours for 3 or less year olds. Call before you go. They close randomly if there is thunderstorm or rains.
Good place. Free for adults. Not so big, but really nice
Very nice experience my first time going with my son for my 1 year old cousins party.
Very cute...never knew it existed till this party. Wish I had known before... my kids are almost to tall to enjoy most of the park. But it was a great day and we loved it
Lots of fun for kids
So much fun for thelittle kids! Just wish there was a splash pad.
We love this place! Great attractions for our young kids, and occasionally the employees dress up in costumes. You only pay per child, unlike other places that make you pay for everyone in your group. We wish it was larger so we could spend more time and more visits there without the older children getting tired of the same rides.
Great place for kids. A mini amusement park.
Great staff. Fun activities for 5 and under.
Went there summer when they opened. Great place for children to play. All day time carousel. My son loves the train too.
If you live local, it's worth the trip. Don't travel a far distance to visit, there are only 5 rides and some playground equipment.
Fun clean place, my son and nephew had a good time.
Its a fun place to go during the summer my kids love it and always want to go back
Great park for young children! I would recommend a stroller for non-walking kids, but the park is more geared to slightly old, more mobile kids. That being said, there are things for all ages!
Enough going on to keep them entertained, but not overwhelmed.
Only a few attractions..
Great for the 7 and under crowd
Cute and fun, what the website doesn't tell you is almost all the fun rides are for ages 3 and up. The only options for under 3 is big slide and the train.
What a horrible experience!!!!!! I would give zero stars if I could. Prior to driving up here from Naperville today, I checked the website which said the park was only open weekends starting next weekend aug 17 so we made the trip....only to get here to find it closed. The outside signage said the same at the gate. The manager came out to talk to us once she updated the website and outside sign. No discounts or free entry for their error. Not the customer experience or service recovery I expect from any park district. What a joke. Then they tried to get us to pay for a play place not much bigger than what is at chick fil a. We were not the only ones, there had to be at least 20 other families going through the same thing. Will not even try to come back.
It was cute!
Always great time
Clean well maintained park, perfect for ages 2-9, great value, adults are free.
Amazing place for kids and adults!
Great place to take your kids had a blast
I could not get my child to leave, we went for her little friends bday and she had so much fun. It's great for toddlers the rides are toddler friendly only. I did not have to jump in the ride with her.
Very good and nice place for kids aged 2-9. They had lot of fun playing here.
My son loved it but they are very unorganized when it comes to party event & rude. After all we spent it was a little disappointing.
Really just a fun friendly place, plus adults are free when they pay for a child ticket.
Kids absolutely had a blast. They really enjoyed the paddle boats, train ride, and carousel.
Perfect for tots- not too big but enough to keep them entertained for a couple hours. Bathrooms clean. Most activities are in shady areas. Lots of hs students manning the rides/ activities.
What a fun place to take my little ones! And the staff is amazing, patient and kind. First time going here and I have to say it was a great experience. We didn't try any food or snacks since we were there for a birthday celebration. Fenced and clean area with tables, different rides and slides. My littles enjoyed couple of rides. They are 2yr and 1yr old . Definitely recommend for any day. We will return here soon.
Awesome amusement park for preschoolers. Admission only for kids
Awesome
This is geared more for little kids. I would say the cut off age should be 6. But my 8 year old still enjoyed himself the best he could.
Nice little place to bring the kids.
If you live nearby this is a great place for a couple of hours with toddler aged kids. $9 per kid for Elk Grove Village residents, $12 for non-residents. Adults free but cannot ride with kids. Most rides are 3-9 years old. Went on a Saturday in June at noon. Was not crowded with no wait at the carousel, pirate ship ride, safari train or climbing wall. Short wait (5-10 minutes) at the peddle boats. They have a small concession stand with pizza and hot dogs, ice cream bars, etc. The top side of the large pirate ship was booked for a birthday event and no accesible. In the pirate ships they had crafts for the kids. Highly recommend if you're in the area.
Very fun for younger children
Kids had a blast!
fun for the kids
Good times for the kiddos. No military discount offered which is a bummer but the toddlers had a blast.
Great fun for the whole family.
godd for kids outdoor activity plus bday parties also
Always a great time for the little ones!
Fun little park geared for kids under 10. Adults are free and admission is $12 for a child ($9 if you're a resident of Elk Grove). There's a merry-go-round, small pirate ship ride that goes round and round and up and down, a playground, a couple of giant slides, rock climbing and short train ride.
Went to birthday party. small but very nice for younger children.
Very small place, I expected more
Easy, inexpensive, almost no wait on anything. My 3yo had a great time. We will be back! 4 stars only because they were closed when we arrived with no posting about why. We had to go inside to figure out that they weren't opening until 1pm...
Very nice experience for the kids.
My Lilly Birthday
My son loved it, and it's nice to find a place where the parents don't have to pay when they can't ride anything
So perfect for my students! I recommend it to all who have young kids
Fun place for kids! I would definitely go back.
Great value. Little ones love it!
Our 4 and 5 yr old loved it. It's clean and the staff is awesome.
Great place for young children. My 3yo loved it! Very clean, friendly staff.
Our son had a blast, staff was friendly and neat little park
If you have small kids 3 years to about 8 it's great time there also the pavilion Wich has a a nice kiddie pool and one for adults
Good venue for a birthday party - smaller number of people which allows the kids to have fun and not wait in line. Not sure I'd come back during regular business hours now that I've been spoiled by attending a birthday party. Not worth waiting in lines for the rides. Overall, it is a good place for kids 3-5. Older kids would be bored as the rides and attractions are geared towards the younger kids. Great starter place for the little ones who would be overwhelmed by a larger amusement park.
It's cool place for children
Our 2 year old loved this park
Was clean and wait for rides was not long. Good for kids 5 and younger.
I have been to this place once before, when my 24yr old was about 3. The prices have been raised but it was exactly how I remember it. Very fun place for younger children. It was clean and not too over crowded. I will definitely be back with my youngest next year.
Great for kids and especially birthday parties! Well organized and the staff is great with kids off all ages. Highly recommended if you have young kids and are looking for something to do this summer. My 3yo had a blast and I saw kids younger than 2yo enjoying it as well.
My kid love going there. Parents are free!
The price to come here is a bit much. $12 per kid, free adult. I chose to go during their twilight hours (4pm-8pm) on Monday’s and Wednesday’s when it’s cheaper because this place is only worth staying a couple of hours, and if your an Elk Grove Village resident it’s an even more reduced price. This place is very tiny, however it does have some fun stuff for the kids and will entertain them for a couple of hours. I’d say this is only for young children though, ages 1-6. They do have a few rides, a bounce house, and fun slides. I say this place is definitely worth checking out. Just be prepared that’s it’s a smaller theme park.
Great place for younger kids. Clean and the staff is grest.
Awesome adventurous place for litte "pirates"
Perfect for small kids.
Great place for kids ages 3 -9
Excelent
Great staff. Lots of fun for our 5yr olds.
Great picnic spot worth every penny. Best staff members. Kids enjoyed every minute. Will visit again.
Great place for the kids and for once it didn't cost for adults to get in. I notice most places for kids they charge adults even though there's nothing for adults. My son had so much fun!
Perfect place for your preschooler!
Tons of fun for my 4 year old! Will definitely be back. Loved that we only had to pay admission for him and that there was no adult admission fee.
Perfect place to bring a 4 year old on a nice day. Not too big but enough to keep them busy and tire them out.
Closed for season open in may
Great place to take your young children on kid sized amusement rides. Go to the swimming pool next door afterwards and make a whole day of it.
This is a long-time Chicago-area favorite. This is a great place for kids 2-8 years to come and get their energy out. It’s inexpensive, well maintained, and you can spend a couple hours here, or all morning and afternoon.
Kids will have a good time, adults will be bored. Staff is friendly, price is a bit much considering you could see the whole place in 30min.
A great place for little kids as long as it's not crowded.
Love park
Good
Good place fr kids under 6.There is a carousel, a paddle boat and a mini ride. Very clean place and good food.
Nice place for kids
We decided to take our children here because they are on a pirate kick right now. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it is maintained. Everything is very clean and the rides show no sign of age. My children are 3.5 and had a blast. I would highly recommend Pirates Cove.
Great fun for the preschool set
Heat and summer camps made for a miserable day at an ok park... Staff isn't friendly
Great experience and value for little kids. Adults are free. The shows are kind of unrehearsed but the kiddos don’t seem to care. Good natured teenagers are working the rides. Careful with the dragon slide. They spray it with something slick and the kids were flying off including mine.
Great and fun mini-theme park for kids to come for a playdate or birthday party! We had a great time with the family celebrating there!
In Elk Grove Village, IL you will find our own buried treasure, "Pirates' Cove." Open from June through August, the Park is designed to stimulate and encourage the creative exploration and imagination of children between the ages of one and nine. Guests may visit our concession stand to purchase a snack, or bring in their own picnic lunch. Be sure to plan your visit to come see us this summer. Pirates' Cove recommends wearing socks and gym shoes to play.
My son loved it and great price
Nice place to take smaller children not crowded. Nice
Small, but had a great time at a Birthday Party. Not many attractions.
Fun experience for my 6 yr old grandson. The park is just the right size for allowing the children to independently walk the park without being overwhelming. The climbing wall and boat ride were a hit!
Not that expensive, and the kids can go out the rides as many times as they want.
Modern kiddieland
It was a lot of fun for my 2 kids who are 2 and 5. I was very thankful for the misting flowers as it was hot!
So many child activities!!!
Great place for young kids. But the theme is odd, because it doesn't really stick to a pirate theme. Between riding a carousel, a safari trainride, and a Camelot play area, I'm not really sure why the theme is all about pirates.
Great for small kids, up to 10 yo.
This was a good excursion for a summer day, but really geared toward toddlers & young kids. I think 6 is the upper-age limit, not 9. My 8-year old is good natured enough to go & enjoy because of younger siblings. But, for not for a singleton or group visit above 6 years.
7/2019 This is a small park, that is tucked away. For the most part the grounds seemed very clean. The staff all seemed to be very young. Maybe college interns. There was a small food shop. It had pizza, chips, corn dogs, fries, cold drinks... The rides were all fine for small kids. They were a little squeeky the day we went. The cover charge seemed to keep the right kind of people there. You know, the ones who watch their kids, and clean up after themselves. There was plenty of shade for a summer day. We liked it for what it is. The kids had a good time. Really I would not expect to spend more than an hour or two at the park. There is a 15 foot slide, 20 foot rock wall, marry go round, small spin elevating ride, train for kids to ride, a kids paddle boat pool, and a playground. They also have a pool, with a different charge. We just went to the park.
Nice place to bring the kids. You'll find a few "Carnival" style attractions. The pedal boats are amazing for the little ones. Be aware that almost all the attractions are "kids only"; but don't worry because adults don't have to pay.
Kids under 10 love it. Lots of rides and activities. Enough shade for hot days. Lines move at ok pace. Lines are shorter at opening and later in the day when summer campers are gone. Hot dogs, pizza, ice cream, are sold, but you're welcome to bring your own. We leave the cooler in the car and retrieve it at lunch time. Parking good.
Inexpensive. Lots of fun for the little ones. Crew friendly to all the kids.
I’m very happy I find this place for my toddler. Very friendly staff and a lot of fun for kids. definitely recommended.
Very racist my son did not have fun he was cut in line and treated very rudely
Nice place for younger kids
Fun family place for couple of hours
Great for young kids
Kids always have a great time
Great place for kids..!
Very fun for younger children
A decent place to spend 4 hours for young kids
I like to say this is a staple of EGV life for a new family. My 2.5 years old son absolutely loves this place and I love the fact they hire local high school students to run the place. Season pass is well worth every penny.
Great for small children keeps them bizy
Not worth it at all, the place is really small.
My 2 year old enjoyed here more than Disney.
Clean, beautiful, fun place for young children. The staff is great, too.
I absolutely love how low key this place was, perfect setting for my easily overwhelmed child on his fifth birthday. I'm sad that he'll so quickly age out of the experience though.
wonder for 3-5 yr old kids. older then that wont enjoy it.
Nice small inexpensive park for toddlers
Great place for kids 4 to 10 any younger probably shouldn't bring.
Awesome for price, and perfect for toddlers!!
was there about 45 minutes... not too much to do
Wasn't as good as I thought it might be.
Always amazing! They do such a great job. A hidden gem in the Northwest burbs.
Great little kid-size amusement park. Clean and well kept. We went at one of the busiest times and didn't have to wait too long for the rides.
We enjoyed Pirates' Cove as a family. Our 2 year old loved everything and could do everything, but the rock wall. We plan on visiting again.
My kids had a blast!
Clean, fun, inexpensive amusement park for kids under 9
Talk about full circle, I’ve been coming here since I was a young child myself and now 30+ years later I’m bringing my children here! There was face painting today which was even more special! It was PACKED but even so, there were short lines and everything moved quickly. It was nice that there were little sprinklers to cool down with. It was very affordable and you can spend 2-4 hours there easily.
Our three year old loved it here and we are eager to go back.
Great place for a day trip with the kids. Greatest thing is its not so big that you could lose your kids in the crowd but still big enough to keep the kids busy all afternoon.
We have been there 3 times now for my nephews birthday.
This place is great. We live close by so we have a season pass again this year. My son in 5 and likes everything there. It's a cute little park, easy to walk the whole thing, lines are short most of the time (afternoons are best) and the staff of kids is really great. They generally seem happy to be there and are playful and encouraging to kids. Today, we had a lovely young guy coaching my son on the rock wall. He was really awesome with him. We also saw a special character performance, which was cute. The teens dance and interact with the kids. Just a nice family place. Love it.
Awesome.... Fun.... Grandkids loved it.
