REVIEWS OF Glacier National Park IN Idaho

Beauty beyond words. So many lakes and waterfalls and creeks and mountains and scenic drive areas. Trails are in great condition. Not too crowded at least in off season in late September.

Seth Zerbe

Beautiful place to visit if you enjoy nature. I would recommend getting on a trail that is less traveled though as some of the more popular trails get pretty busy.

Jen Jamieson

There are no words to describe the beauty of the park! It is a must see filled with challenges and adventure for all levels. The rangers and shuttle staff are knowledgeable and friendly. I will go back as often as I can to explore!

jeremy W

AMAZING!!!!! we were there for a month and were sad to go. From lake mcdonald to the going to the sun road. It was an absolutely breathtaking place to spend some time.

stephen geraci

I've been to a number of beautiful places and this is my favorite so far... a whole new world from other places in the US.

James T

An incredible place to say the least. Around every corner is a view just as beautiful as the last. A lot of pullouts to stop and enjoy the views, tons of trails of all varieties to push yourself to see some incredible wilderness

Nancy Harkins

My very favorite National Park. Solo driver of the 1800 miles each direction from central Texas, five summers in a row (if that’s not testimony enough for you!). It’s worth every mile and I can’t wait to go back as it’s been over a decade since I last went. Having said that, the crowds have noticeably increased as the word is out on how gorgeous this park is. Google it. YouTube it. Watch documentaries on it. It won’t do it justice. Drive it and get out and hike it. Camp or stay in one of the historic lodges. Or if you require pampering there are outside accommodations. Be sure and visit all major points of the park.

Robert Wilson

Literally some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever experienced. The water was clearer than clear. What a gem!

Katherine Watkins Greeson

Glacier National Park is a breathtakingly beautiful place with plenty to offer for everyone from scenic drives to challenging hikes. The National Park Rangers are attentive, and the park is well-maintained. The only thing that could be improved are the shuttles around the park. There are so many people trying to enjoy the park that more shuttles are needed with greater frequency to keep up with all the visitors.

Austin Dingman

Upon arrival to St. Mary lake, I knew I had chosen to visit a truly special place. The mountains towered in the distance and the lakes and pine groves were truly inviting. The park staff was very courteous and informative. Driving along Going to the Sun road was a magical experience to someone like me who was a native to eastern NY state. The pine groves and sheer rock cliffs accented the high altitude vistas and made this park truly unforgettable. Kayaking the clear blue mountain lakes rivalled anything I've ever seen in a tropical vacation brochure. Standing 10 feet from bighorn sheep and marmots grazing the seedpods of exotic grasses was a unique experience. I even saw a few black bear cubs run frantically down the road. If you've never been to the rockies this is a great place to start. I wish I could live there!

Tom Nicholls

Glacier is hands down one of the most breath taking areas in all of Montana, if not the U.S. it truly reminds us how lucky we are. I love the Going to the Sun Road and there are a plethora of wonderful hikes!! This is a must for anyone visiting the State.

Grover Cessor

ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!! No words can describe how great this park is. My favorite by far and will be returning frequently!!!

carolyn eastman

Trails were well traveled so never really celt alone. Visitors centers gave out helpful facts for any hiking ability levels.

Vahan Zhamkochyan

I loved the fact that you not only can see the glaciers from down below but drive up to eye level and even above the glaciers! I've only did the Avenue of Cedars and GLacier Lake hikes and would recommend it!

Kate Glenn

Beautiful scenery, but not enough trails for all the visitors, and certainly not enough parking for individual cars, and not any where near enough free shuttles. We waited 75 minutes to catch a shuttle from one trail head in 95 degree heat one day...Not fun!

Shelly

This is absolutely beautiful place to visit, but when we were there, it was so crowded that we were turned away from the upper lakes etc, and could not find a parking place anywhere. We were there in late July, I guess everyone had the same idea as us! Lol. If you haven't gone there, plan a few days as it is very pretty!

Luther Fong

One of my favorite national parks, this place has something for anyone who loves the mountains. Here, backpackers can go on long ventures and day-hikers can find an enjoyable hikes near the roads. Even if you aren’t the hiking type, many of the trails are very short, or simply veer a dozen meters off the road. It’s a great experience, and everyone should come at least once.

Ellen Rigor

Truly a piece of heaven right here on earth. My breath is taken every time I see that first glimpse of Lake McDonald, coming around the bend in Apgar Village.

Justin Marhold

Wonderful park! Amazing views, second to very few other parks. $35 admission, the $80 annual pass is a great value here. Plenty of hiking trails, vistas, and nature. The trees inhibit the view a little, yet, it's all the more rewarding when you crest a hill! But keep your eyes open driver's, you may be nearly hit each blind corner. You are not free to oogle the sights! Passengers can get the photos for you! Stop if you need to adjust anything in the car, the drop offs are too severe! Just be safe and enjoy! Cars with convertible tops or large windows are a big plus

Katrina Brown

Absolutely beautiful! The wildflowers this year were everywhere! My only complaint is that parking is always so hard to find, but a lot of the sections that were under construction/repair last summer are finally finished, so that was nice to be able to go to those again.

Steve Cescolini

Glacier Park is a place where everyone should go. It is quite the experience very Majestic! If you haven't been there it is something that you have to experience.

Priyanka Rajath

Hiking in glacier was a spiritual experience. Best place to meet wildlife. August-September is a good time to be there. Some boat rides close after Labor Day.

Shirley Lehmann

The most beautiful park! The scenery and grandeur of the mountains is breathtaking! My favorite park so far!! We were there on Sept 11 and the weather was perfect. Still busy but nothing like before Labor Day. Best time to go - just have to beat the snow.

Charles Rinck

Excellent as always.always fun meeting people from all over the world and Saw plenty of wildlife still dusk.sept time. rangers always willing to answer questions and give advice.the boat tour at St Mary's lake is the best!!! It takes you ta waterfall

Jonathan Erler

Been to the park probably a hundred times plus, I keep going. Always new trails and climbing routes to try. Sad part is... Getting so crowded. Suggestion, use the free shuttles whenever you can. If your trail or hike is off one of the shuttle lines or outside the pick up times, get in extra extra early to park. Or, perhaps late and miss the crowds, sundown is 930pm in the summer do plenty of time to it up a trail at sunset if you know what you are doing and are properly equipped. Plan extra time for traffic mid day, too many people seem to forget how to drive when that road gets super narrow and cliffs on each end. Part of me wants to tell the crowds to go away... But that's not fair. We can share the park, just hope the department of the interior gets it I to their head to invest into the infrastructure in a positive, productive, and protective way.

Emil Olson

It is without a doubt a family must see in the next few years if you have not. Unfortunately the glaciers are melting, but it is all still beautiful with much to see and do...photos do not do it justice

Carol E.

A natural beauty that is a must see. Add it to your bucket list, you won't be disappointed. It takes a good 2-3 days or more to see the park and hike the many trails.

Roland Padilla

It's the best part of our great United States and should be visited before all the glaciers are gone. This is a land of many beauties and should be respected greatly.

Lisa Jones

Words(and even photos) cannot describe how stunningly beautiful this National Park is. Driving the Going to the Sun Road is challenging for those of us with heights issues, but well worth it (going from west to East is the worst direction.) Be mindful of the changing weather conditions and consider using the shuttle service when possible.

Penny Cloutier

This is definately a place to see and so worth it! I would recommend staying in West Glacier vs East as there is more things to do in the West side. You are very limited on the East side. Going to the Sun Road is a must see and to do both ways east and west is highly beautiful in their unique way.

crystal smith

Beautiful. Gods country. The mountains majestic. A great place to experience and explore.

Dustin Richards

Great park! Plan on arriving early because the parking lots fill up fast and finding a spot to park is hard.

Brent VanHyfte

Maybe my favorite national park I have been to. Mountains, Blue Water, Forests, long hikes, tension from not knowing if there is a bear or moose around the corner. Beautiful.

Chris Passante

Global warming is causing these glaciers to melt pretty rapidly. Since 1966 the size of the glaciers have rapidly reduced. I hope future generations get an opportunity to enjoy them.

Nick Bartelt

Great views, something worth seeing again. It's work to get to the really nice views, but very worth while.

gr hafford

We were at West Glacier entrance Nice campground. We were there on off season. The camping at this point is first come first serve also they start closing loops.

Teresa Morgan

Blue water, crisp air and plenty of wildlife. If you love nature, it's hard to go wrong here. This is a great place to get away from the crowds and reconnect.

Joe Braun

Such a beautiful drive down the Going To The Sun road. Around every corner along the road, a different mountain appeared with its own waterfall. There are many points of interest and room to pull over and capture its beauty.

Alvin Mayotte

The beauty here is breathtaking cannot wait to stop by once more for a visit! An another hike...

Rita V

Lots to see and do at Glacier Falls. Tons of hiking trails and some opportunities to see some type of wildlife along the trail. GFNP is my new favorite spot. I wish I had been able to stay longer to enjoy more. Definitely take the drive up from one side of the park to the other. Bonus is that the sun doesn't fully set til about 10 for it to be dark. We picnicked on Lake MacDonald along the shore line and it was nice watching the sunset almost all the way. The views were gorgeous, but the water is very cold if not fun to dip your toes into! If you go during the day it is warmer, but still cold. Montana is so beautiful just because of this park. I definitely will go back one day and do more.

Brent Gamradt

It was a very coming vacation. All the staff in the park we're helpful. The Red Bus tour was a good experience. I would recommend it at least once if it is your first trip. It was worth it. Especially if are usually the driver on your vacation

Gary Fryer

What can I say? God's creation at it's finest. I've gotta return to explore the interior next year.

Patrick DMC

Most beautiful park I've been to yet, and this is my 43rd national park. ♥️

Merry Lou Stafford

We have been here for four days and have not seen all we want to see yet. It is so beautifully breathtaking. We will keep going back each day we are here.

Marjeane Sallada

Saw Glacier by Kruger's helicopter! Best way to see all of Glacier! Mr. Kruger knows everything about the park! Phenomenal! Best hour I have ever spent in my entire life!

Susan Moffitt

This park is majestic and has great low Alpine hiking. You are above the tree line at around 6500 feet and glean the benefits of the high Alpine without any altitude sickness issues.

Allison Shrestha

Such a beautiful place. Gorgeous hiking. Unfortunately the going to the sun road was partially closed to fire, but it was worth the out and back from the east side as far in as we could...

Estonian Family

Beauty beyond words. So many lakes and waterfalls and creeks and mountains and scenic drive areas. Trails are in great condition. Not too crowded at least in off season in late September.

Prajwal Yadapadithaya

Glacier national park might just be my favorite national park in the US. It's hard to describe the awe and beauty that this place offers in words. From stunning lakes to amazing wildlife, this park has it all. Just driving through the park (going-to-the-sun road) is an incredible experience.

Dogster Doolittle

A remote National Park full of incredible beauty. The infrastructure for tourism inside and outside the park is less accommodating than many other parks in the United States. With that said, this is what makes it so inviting. Take your boots, your adventurous spirit, and enjoy the near wilderness.

Ron Withers

Absolutely loved our visit to Glacier. The mountains and lakes are a breathtaking experience. It's impossible to describe in words the rugged beauty of this national treasure. Can't wait to go back and explore more of the trails.

Aлександар Тадић

Come and experience Glacier's pristine forests, alpine meadows, rugged mountains, and spectacular lakes. With over 700 miles of trails, Glacier is a hiker's paradise for adventurous visitors seeking wilderness and solitude. Relive the days of old through historic chalets, lodges, and the famous Going-to-the-Sun Road. Explore Glacier National Park and discover what awaits you.

Allison Shrestha

Such a beautiful place. Gorgeous hiking. Unfortunately the going to the sun road was partially closed to fire, but it was worth the out and back from the east side as far in as we could...

Rachel McDonald

Beautiful Park! Amazing hikes and tons of diversity. From short walks to backpacking overnight, the park has it all. I felt that the shuttle system and parking was lacking quite a bit so get up early to snag a parking spot. The wildlife, vegetation and breathtaking mountains are gorgeous. Don't miss this Park!

Braelyn Standish

Great set up for backpackers to camp in the back country. GNP knows how to educate the public about wildlife (looking at you bears). Breath taking views.

Ben Loughridge

Probably the most beautiful park I've been to. There is an issue with parking on the Going to the Sun road, however. I recommend getting there early in the morning or near sunset if you plan on driving that road.

Tionne Cross

Great views that you can hike up to see. Lots of wildlife. Beautiful scenery.

Cierra Keith

Stunningly beautiful and well maintained. We had to switch campsites due to bear activity and were refunded and provided with a new campsite at no charge. Wonderful experience and we hope to be back soon!

Cardonuts Wendy

This place is absolutely beautiful but what I'd really like to bring attention to is safety. The drive towards St. Mary is under construction, it's winding and there are cows roaming around. When I left Sunday morning there was a poor dead, black cow that had been hit by car as there were car parts all over the road. I feel awful for the poor cow and you'd feel awful if you hurt yourself, hurt your passengers, destroyed your vehicle... So please drive slowly!

Ron Withers

Absolutely loved our visit to Glacier. The mountains and lakes are a breathtaking experience. It's impossible to describe in words the rugged beauty of this national treasure. Can't wait to go back and explore more of the trails.

Chip LaFleur

This place is one of the most amazing places in the continental US. We only saw a fraction of the park, but every minute was filled with awe-inspiring views and epic sights. Come prepared as the park can be unforgiving if you go into the backcountry. Lots of bears, easy to get lost, but worth the adventure.

Bob Stalder

Absolutely breathtaking park.. I cannot say enough good things about it. Plan plenty of time to drive, hike and explore every area that you can.

Will Bennett

It is an epically beautiful National Park! Of the 9 Parks I have been to, it is one of my favorites tied only with Yosemite and Grand Tetons! The hiking is amazing! It was great getting out into Nature and getting way from the distractions of everyday life.

Dan Stricklan

I loved this place. Awesome views and miles of trail to drive around the lake. Limited walking trails but still a great place to see.

Rex Ramey

I am so happy I made it to Glacier N.P.! I cant wait to go back. If you can get up early you can beat the crowds.

Jamie Carlson

Some of the most beautiful scenery in North America I’m sure. We drove through in early August and the weather was perfect. The roads are excellent but narrow and are not for the faint of heart! Lots of places to safely pull over and enjoy the scenery or take pictures. A few awesome places for a picnic if you’re prepared.

Dan Coleman

Beautiful place no doubt, but the wildfires did a terrible number on the vegetation. Also due to locations the parking is absolutely terrible and bicyclists do not adhere to the rules in which they are allowed to bike up the mountain which causes considerable delays. If you bring a pet you won't be able to use the shuttle so leave the pup at home in the AC which happens to be the best way to get around the park.

Susana Enns

It is so peaceful and beautiful there. The only downside was we couldn't go horseback riding which we were all most excited about but so good otherwise

Raymond Langstaff

Fantastic scenery. Crowded though. Saw a mountain goat and her kid. Lots of traffic but people in general were courteous and patient.

Chloe H.

I visited right before the blizzard. It was amazing! The weather was perfect and the sights were unbelievable! Don't forget to carry bear spray!

Robin Robinson

I wasn't expecting anything less than beautiful. Had a great time with boyfriend and family. Definitely got some cool pictures.

Pardeep Jaswal

Beautiful park, but super busy. I loved the fact that there is a drive right through it so you can enjoy all the beauty. Definitely recommend!

Gary Hosking

Great place for a wedding, family trip or more. Miles and miles of trails and shows how great our country is. Take a red bus tour to lean about this great park.

Brittany English

First time in Glacier! Park is breathtaking, 100% recommended picture don’t do justice. I will definitely be back!

Darby

Every part of this was stunning. We signed up online a couple months beforehand and had a super easy process getting in and getting our campground. We're already planning a trip for next year. The ranger led hikes in particular are great for learning about the area.

Martin Schoepke

Glacier is a wonderful park. Beautiful scenery and lots of wildlife. I got to see a herd of bighorn sheep, birds, a weasel and a group of mountain goats, so beautiful. On the way out there were a fox and a deer and more bighorn sheep.

Teresa Smith

Wonderful place. Road a little exciting. Needs more parking at popular places.

Jason Heeres

Baring falls hike was nice and shaded. Not much sun. Also trail is one person wide. Do prepare to make way for hikers coming the other way.

Justis Gipson

Love Glacier. I've been here maybe half a dozen times and I always seem to be able to find something new to do there. Still a great experience even if we got rained out while we were there.

Gary Spencer

Simply incredible. Best way to get around for your first time is to use red bus tours. Drivers/guides are knowledgeable and show you the best stops.

Jean Welch

Designated as the "crown jewel of the continent", Glacier NP lived up to the hype. We enjoyed the 7 nights we spent at nearby Johnson's RV. Going to the Sun Road was a delightful shelf road that we drove (both ways) on Sept 11, 2019. Lake McDonald & St. Mary Lake were both very beautiful. And of course, we enjoyed seeing the glaciers BEFORE they disappear. What a unique & magnificant national park!! We'll never think of huckleberries without remembering Glacier NP.

Lenora Arntson

Fantastic! Hold on the roads get narrow! Take the buses up and down . They are there free so everyone can stop and see the various sites!

Greg Busby

Beautiful park. Best to go before the close Going To The Sun Road.

Jeff Garner

Stunning scenery. Worth a visit. But is far more suited for hikers. Some paved and gravel roads to explore. But really a hikers paradise.

April B

Driving the Going to the Sun Road is challenging for those of us with heights issues, but well worth it. The day hikes have all been great. Many Glaciers is worth the time. I am so glad we got to see any before they are gone. The range of incredible hikes, wildlife viewing, and sense of tranquility is hard to put into words. The National Park Rangers are attentive, and the park is well-maintained.

Car accident in the middle of the park brings everything to a long term standstill. Had the choice of waiting hours for a tow truck to make its way from the west entrance, or turning around and driving back the way you came. A 2 1/2 hour detour

Jonathan Dakin

My first visit and definitely not my last. It is a hikers and photographers heaven. So many sites all with astonishing scenes. Wild animals including moose, mountain goat, bighorn, and bears. All water activities you could hope for.

Nica Luiten

I love this place! It was quite busy but I went on a Saturday afternoon, also there are many different things to do like tours to get information about the place or you can just drive around and enjoy for yourself

Toni Grabinger

Absolutely gorgeous! Hiked to Avalanche Lake which had well kept trails. Well worth the time to see this beautiful lake. Also hiked to St. Mary's Falls. Magnificent sight. This was a family vacation and we all had a wonderful time.

Don Mueller

The park is one of the most beautiful in the US. Unfortunately, it seems that in last few years everyone has figured that out. For several hours each day visitors with passes are being turned away at the Many Glaciers gate due to insufficient parking. Come early, hike less well known trails and you will enjoy this park.

McKenna Buckley

Visited for the first time this year and it did not disappoint. I absolutely loved every minute of it! I spent 4 days camping and hiking and i was very pleased with my trip. I will be back!

Keith Pillsbury

There are plenty of choices for hiking. The various accommodations are staffed by friendly staff who provide appropriate service. The prices of rooms vary widely so people with a range of economic circumstances have a chance to stay in the park.

Aaron Maass

When Going to the Sun Road is open, this may very well be the most beautiful place on Earth. Every viewpoint and every twist and turn along your drive could make for a terrific postcard. Would love to return every year if I could!

Pilar Montejo

Absolutely loved it! I cannot even express in words the beauty, so let the pics speak for themselves.

Vicki Smith

Beyond beautiful. Make sure you stop in at the ranger station in Many for a detailed local trail map. So many great day hikes into the mountains.

John Murray

Visiting in mid September. And I can only think of how hard it must be to park along one of the popular pull offs along the falls and river . I had no problem this time of year .although road to the sun is closed

Leslie Bishop

Totally wonderful! Our early morning starts made for superb experiences! So much beauty, excellent trails, too

Anna Filipowicz

One of my favorite places to go in Montana, Glacier National Park really is a hidden treasure! I was able to kayak, hike to a gorgeous waterfall, and see a black bear within 3 feet of my vehicle all in one day!

Nate Lattimer

We did the AM Red Bus Tour on our first day and highly recommend it. Lauren was a fantastic guide and gave helpful tips for our next 3 days. Highly recommend Glacier and the tour!

Shawn Ross

This is my favorite national park. So amazing, so relaxing, and just pure heaven on Earth for me.

Barry Fuller

One of the best parks in the country. So much to see and do, you could spend a month here and not get to it all. Sadly, the glaciers will be gone soon, so everyone should make it a priority to see this natural beauty.

Jan Lambert

Love this place!! Hope to return one day. Great hikes for one day or longer. Beautiful!! A must see if you are in the area. May see all kinds of wild life while you are hiking or if you are just cruising in a car.

Jessica Wenhold

Beautiful place to spend your day. Laughing, hiking, and more. You would love it here.

Frank Kurek

A premier national park! We have visited about 140 national parks and Glacier is right at the top of our list as one of the very best parks!

Honza Mikulka

Possibly one of the best hikes of my life! Grinell Glacier Lake & Iceberg Lake Trail are both doable in one day. Enjoy!

Sourabh B

Beautiful national park! Absolutely loved the drive through going to the sun road, hikes Grinnel glacier to High line. Just be early to the most trafficked hikes to get parking and avoid crowd.

Jim Storment

Beautiful. Best time of the year to go. Cool temps, and the crowds are light.

Stephen Young

Heaven on Earth... Breathtakingly beautiful. Not an exaggeration. It's true nature. Advice: Make sure to plan ahead. Get maps. Bring extra food. Between it's vastness, weather changes, animals, fires, etc.. It's possible to encounter problems. It's wild and desolate. Some of the mountain roads were white knuckle. Overall, I'd say it's one of the most amazing places in the world!

Ian Ballard

One of the U.S. crown jewels. There aren't many places that can compete with Yosemite in my mind for awe-inspiring splendor in the U.S. but this place manages. The range of incredible hikes, wildlife viewing, and sense of tranquility is hard to put into words. It isn't easy to get to, but it is well worth the trip.

Brian Capron

No way to describe GNP in only a few words. Majestic, filled with grandeur, from micro (sunlight dappling rippling Creek stones) to macro (scenic overlooks from high mountain gaps) oh my!

Mila Tobias

It is breathtaking place. We come here 2 times and never get bored and always ent to come back again. Me and my husband love visiting national park and we visited many national park around USA and Canada . For us, this is the most beautiful national park in USA.

Russ Lacuata

Glacier is a hikers paradise for adventurous visitors seeking wilderness and solitude. Amazing experience the pristine forests, alpine meadows, rugged mountains, and spectacular lakes.

Jeanine Grant

Majestic beauty. Awesome colors. Sadly we encountered no bears, lions or moose.

Christina Lux

Stunning! Parking is a nightmare though if you don't arrive early. You can look at the webcam in some of the parking lots before hand though.

Sriram Udhaya

My heart fell live with this park..The number trails of USA is here.. very very beautiful park..cant explain..have to experience in person..did 75 miles hiking..top notch park...

Brandy Vasquez

We went up to Hidden lake overlook... A very easy hike and didn't take long at all.. Definitely worth the splendor that we seen along the way

Mark Hess

We are on a quest to get to as many of the national parks as possible. Glacier National Park was our last trip and it was great. Surprisingly, 80% of visitors only spend one day in the park and that usually only includes a trip on the Rising to the Sun Road. This is a beautiful drive with great views of the mountains and valleys but it is only a small portion of the park. We stayed on both the west and east sides of the park in lodges that were very comfortable. This allowed us to enjoy some great hiking, kayaking, and simple relaxing. Visit this park but plan to spend a few days.

Kelly Laustsen

Awesome scenery! Some crowds, but expected for such a beautiful place. Well run campgrounds and a variety of difficulty level hikes.

Cindy Morris

Just stunning. Beauty around every corner. Lake McDonald is simply amazing. Crystal clear water and colorful rocks. This is a must do.

Leila

This place always amazes me. I have been here many times throughout my life and I am speechless every single time. Absolutely beautiful

Kunal Sharma

We were told that Canadians were allowed to get off the boat till last year. Would have been fun if that happened now also, but it didn't. Amazing views of nature.

Rahul Mundra

Amazing place. Don't have enough words to describe this fantastic national park... Breath taking natural beauty. Park has great hikes for all abilities

John Evelyn

Wonderful, stunning vistas. Hikes with breathtaking surprises around a corner. Waterfalls that jar and captivate all the senses and hidden emotions.

Stacey Koster

Glacier National Park is one of the natural wonders of the world. It's beauty is unlike anything else. Take the time to visit Glacier National Park, you will not regret it.

Jaime Evans

Glacier is always a great get away. Beautiful views, the overall atmosphere, the animals and the water! If you've never been, I I highly recommend a drive through at least once!

Bethany Jansson

Wonderful rafting trip down the river with Mission Mountain Railroad! Thanks guys! Had a blast!

Dan Owens

Amazing National Park with much to see and do for fantastic family fun! Jaw-dropping vistas on Going to the Sun Road! Highly recommended!

J Waddell

Too crowded to enjoy today. Should be able to take your dog hiking and it is not allowed here.

Dustin Ashliegh

Absolutely spectacular, we loved our room at The Village Inn at Apgar. The Going to the Sun Road was fantastic and the views were amazing. Highly recommended.

Lisaspatz1956 Lisa

Loved it, went through the first day the road was open. So glad we were there in June. I bet it will be pretty crowded later this summer. However, it's the most beautiful and amazing park we have been through.

Angie Latimer

Glad I finally got to hike in this beautiful national park! Wildlife and waterfalls everywhere. Breathtaking!

EvaYvonne

Outstanding, spectacular scenic areas! A must see! A huge variety of hiking for every level, some areas are ADA friendly! My photos don't do this beautiful place justice!

Doris Stafford

Glacier National Park is one of the most beautiful parks one can visit. The vistas are breathtaking, no matter where. I highly recommend a visit to the"Crown Jewel of the Continent".

LeAnne Fiske

Even in cloudy weather, the park scenery was breathtaking. I took a bus tour of the Eastern rim and it was everything you see in the pics and more. Completely worth it!

Lesha Johanneck

This place is definitely a gotta see at least once in your life. The air is crisp. The mountain drive up sun mountain is breathtaking.

Howard Luong

Gorgeous place. It is way too big to do it in one get. Must go multiple times. The mountain ranges are breathtaking. It is really hard to take a bad picture of that place. Logan pass is pretty good for star gazing and star shots.

Jan White

Most beautiful scenery! My favorite of all National Parks. Breathtaking views on the Going to the Sun Road. A must visit!

B

Parking is an absolute nightmare everywhere on the west side of the pass. It is actually pretty silly that such limited parking is everywhere. While I get the whole sanctity concept of preservation, access to places like the visitor center and some road side pull offs would be nice. It isn't like it is free to enter.

Toni Campbell

HEAVEN ON EARTH. You MUST go. Plan an extra day or two, there's so much to see. Find the Going to the Sun Road. Life changing vistas!!!

Texans Outdoors

Beautiful. Everyone should experience the Going to the Sun Road. I was disappointed in the parking but that’s people not the park. If you want to hike a trail, get there early 6:00-6:30.

Priscilla Knerr Jaen

This park has something for everyone, whether you like scenic drives, short hikes, swimming, backpacking or other water activities. I'm in awe of the engineering and maintenance of the Going-to-the-Sun Road.

Zoe Taylor

Just awesome... Beauty around every corner. Perfect place for a family trip. I have visited more 3-4 times. One of my favourite place.

bstcell

Great place to be. I hope to come back again soon. Remember to prepare before you get there and start hiking

Pamela Zirbel

Perfection. I'm obsessed with the clear water and smooth stones in Lake McDonald. Jackson glacier is amazing. Saw Mtn Goats at Logan Pass

Alexander Gasiorowski

Absolutely stunning park. The roads are well maintained and there are plenty of areas to safely disembark for sightseeing.

Shyam Paryani

Wonderful park that is huge and has many things to do. Highlights include Going to Sun Road with sights, waterfalls, lakes, mountains, and glaciers. Very crowded in summer Nd they close sections on weekends as parking reaches capacity.

I cannot articulate it's beauty and the emotional rush of witnessing it. Spoke to many Rangers who seem to collectively agree that this is the pinnacle of (US) National Parks.

Eric Baumann

It's glacier national park...that's why 5 stars. I've been all over the country and this is the most impressive landscape you will see, anywhere. Just go, now.

Madi Drake

The views are second to none. This is one of my favorite places to be. Every visit is a new adventure.

Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. And wild. No other explanation should be necessary.

Dani Clair

Beautiful park, nice road. Narrow but cool. Really only one road in the park to drive then you drive around the outside of it, still very pretty.

Anthony S Thomsen

I can’t come here enough. The views never get old. The back pack trips are challenging and fulfilling. Great memories here

One of the most beautiful parks I've had the pleasure of visiting. If you love nature or the mountains then add this to your bucket list. The picture don't do it justice. Its absolutely breathtaking in person!

My fiance and I spent 6 wonderful days exploring, camping, and hiking here. I was agog with the beauty and majesty of the mountains and saddened by the loss of glaciers. I am so glad we got to see any before they are gone. Don't forget to enjoy the human experience here too because the people in our parks are wonderful.

Kevin Tasnima

If you like people come here they are not short of them.To many man made paths we went to on a trail which was not in very good condition. In the park you do not get to touch the ground because they have built a board all along the path. But if you do come here try to go as early as you can because there is no parking.

A remote National Park full of incredible beauty. The infrastructure for tourism inside and outside the park is less accommodating than many other parks in the United States. With that said, this is what makes it so inviting. Take your boots, your adventurous spirit, and enjoy the near wilderness.

This is a stellar National Park. The Going to the Sun road is an absolute fantastic drive through the middle of the park. But that is only the beginning for this park. The day hikes have all been great. Many Glaciers is worth the time. So much to see and do in this beautiful place. We will continue to visit again and again.

Johnny Pegee

Great place to hike and bike. Family friendly. Campgrounds fill up fast so get there early. Cabins and hotels also fill up fast. They offer a great shuttle service in the park and tour buses. Lake McDonald is definitely my favorite place to be. Iceberg Lake is my favorite hike.

Patrick McCarel

Glacier National Park is an absolutely beautiful piece of preserved nature. The park is huge and there are many amenities around the area. Inside the park there is over 1000 campsites and hundreds of miles of trails to explore. We spent only three days there but feel a week would be better. We will be going back on a dedicated trip!

Nick Hirsch

One of the greatest places on Earth. Parking and construction can be troublesome but difficilties can be avoided with proper planning. Absolutely try to see each section of this beautiful park before it's namesakes are gone completely.

Karen Davisson

There was a lack of wildlife. Can you please train them better so they come out and provide photo ops! LOL! Love having Glacier Park in my backyard!!

Francisco O

Best park I have been in my life (beats Yosemite and Yellowstone). Grinell Glacier trail, Iceberg Lake trail and Avalanche Lake trail are the best trails. And of course, the Going to the Sun road. Hiking in the park is amazing! (Be bear aware and don’t forget you hike at your own risk)

Glacier national park might just be my favorite national park in the US. It's hard to describe the awe and beauty that this place offers in words. From stunning lakes to amazing wildlife, this park has it all. Just driving through the park (going-to-the-sun road) is an incredible experience.

Richard Gayle

We really enjoyed our time at this park and very much enjoyed our boat tour of St. Mary's Lake. This is a stunning park. It is crowded, we were unable to see the visitors center at Logan's Pass after driving around the parking lot for 30 minutes, we couldn't find a place to park. This park made me wish I had a motorcycle again, it would be an awesome ride!

Glacier National Park is a 1,583-sq.-mi. wilderness area in Montana's Rocky Mountains, with glacier-carved peaks and valleys running to the Canadian border. It's crossed by the mountainous Going-to-the-Sun Road. Among more than 700 miles of hiking trails, it has a route to photogenic Hidden Lake. Other activities include backpacking, cycling and camping. Diverse wildlife ranges from mountain goats to grizzly bears.

Jonathan Swiatek

With a bunch of different trails of varying difficulty, along with the accessibility of using the shuttles or parking your car in there many parking lots, Glacier National Park is well thought out and one of my favorite places visited this year. The trails themselves are very well maintained as well with the roads, everything is well managed. If you are afraid of heights and close corners, the Going-to-the-Sun road might not be your best option!

Chuck Barnhart

This is a great park. We have not been beyond the Campground yet but intend to start our adventure today. We heard reports of lots of bear sightings and are anxious to go bear watching today. We have our bear spray just in case.
