You have all the reviews of people like you who have information of the services of Talcott Mountain State Park (Park) in the state of Connecticut.
At this moment the business has a score of 4.8 out of 5 and that rating has been calculated on 638 reviews.
You must have seen that it reaches an reviews average is almost the best one, and it's founded on a very large number of reviews, so we may conclude that the valuation is quite accurate. If people have bothered to value when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to place feddbacks when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Park is included in the category of State park.
Great views but it was disappointing that you couldn't see the actual sunrise because trees were in the way & the building doesn't open until 10am.
You can hike/walk up to the tower via one way or drive up with your car another way. The tower inside is open periodically on the weekends and once on top the views r spectacular. (free to go up the Heublin tower) This walk/hike is very easy and there are benches along the way for those needing to stop. There are benches and restrooms once you reach the tower.
Highly recommend this park, great view and stunning scenery!
This is a steep and rough climb in the beginning if you are not in shape. If you come in from the lower entrance and chose the steep rocky road/path you are looking for a legs workout. I loved it, some may not. No matter the burn in your legs you may feel if you go up that way it is so worth it once you get to the top.
Love this place year round. Great trails to walk, nice areas to rest. Beautiful views.
Love the hikes up here...
Such a great hike and fabulous views! Had a picnic at the top. Perfect!
Beautiful views on the top of the hill.
what a great scenic park to have fun time with friends and family :) love it here.
Great view. Recommend visiting in the fall.
Have a nice hike, beautiful look over Farmington valley.
The first 200 yards are challenging (40°+ incline), but worth the effort. Some great views of Simsbury across the Farmington River. Buildings were closed, but next time I will go Thur-Mon.
Nice views. Trail can get crowded sometimes. Go up the tower if it's open. Parts of the trail are steep but mostly a moderate hike.
Easy hike and is not steep. We went up with toddlers and infants with us, but dint feel it difficult. Approx 1 mile both side. Strollers need to park down. 3-4 beautiful stops with great view. Hublein tower at the top is also beautiful to watch from inside and outside both.
It was a great hike .. awesome time .. will go again ..
Really lovely short hike for the entire family. Should take roughly 45 minutes to an hour 15 to make it to the tower. Going down is much quicker. Bring a picnic
great memories here, found the love of my life here. Cannot forget the long strolls here up on down on the rocky terrain.....
Not really difficult to get the top! And, I am sure it is great trail for all people :)
Great place for a quick hike. The uphill is inclined so not for the ones wit weak knees. The views are also good.
Best place for hiking
This was a beautiful sight to re experience in so many years and this few indicated that my love for nature is phenomenal
Best view of northern Connecticut with lots of history in the Heublein Tower. Several hikes to get to the Tower so good for any skill. Take the family and picnic lunch.
A nice walk along a mountain ridge. A bit steep at first, but only on the way up.
Worth the hike. Beautiful building at the top. Enjoy the view.
Nice and challenging trails.
Beautiful hike. Not very strenuous (I'm an endurance athlete, 30+ miles per week running, 100+ cycling), but fun. The historic house at the top was also informative, and the view was fantastic! The glass walls let you see off in every direction for miles, and we went up on a clear afternoon.
The vertical climbs have benches to rest on the way to the tower. There are also flat portions of the path as well as offshoots that allow you to walk along the ridge and see the beautiful views. There is a shooting range nearby and the gunshots take away from the peaceful setting a bit.
Great view
great hike with great views
Amazing place for a hike. The start is a bit steep and rocky, so good walking shoes are a must, but the rest levels out and is fairly easygoing. It took us about 30 minutes to get to Heublin Tower at the top of the trail. The tower is a gorgeous old home with some great history and the view from the observation deck at the top is hard to beat - a must see! My personal favorite part are all of the little lookout areas as you're going up the hill. They may not be as high the lookout tower, but the view of the unenclosed expanse of Hartford and the towns around it is truly breathtaking.
Beautiful wooded hike with an amazing view along the top of a "mountain". The majority of the hike is fairly close (or very close) to the cliff, so if you have young children be careful. The park is well used; we were there on a weekday evening in the fall and passed approximately 20 other people in the park. There are a few different trails, one being a wide well cleared path away from the ledge, and another narrow slightly more rugged path along the ledge. There are few connector and side trail options, but they all essentially lead to the same spot. A gorgeous building at the peak. There's a gift shop and museum area, unfortunately they were just closing as we arrived. Note, there are one or two connector trail points, well marked, which cross this trail and are part of a much larger trail system, these do not lead to either the building nor the park parking lot.
Great hike. Please post trail map at trail head
Amazing view
Always an enjoyable hike. Trails are well maintained and the fellow hikers friendly.
Loved it, love my walk at Talcott Mountain
Love this spot. Beautiful hike/walk.
Wonderful! The hike up was great on a wide path for most of it. Beautiful scenery up to and including the Tower. The tower had an awesome observation deck where one can see for miles around, and they even have landmark plaques so you can tell what you're looking at. Wish I could have lived there in its prime! Will go back again.
Nice hike on well maintained trail. More touristy than adventure but nice views. The Tower is the payoff at the top.
Great hike and views!
Beautiful views, kinda steep climb. We're good supportive boots or shoes
Great and peaceful place to hike
Beutiful view about a 40 minutes. Steep at first but it gets easier as you reach the top. Usually in about 10 minutes.
This place has the best views of the west
First time I went very nice, peaceful setting and sites.
There is really only one trail in this park which leads to Heublein Tower. The trail is pretty step but relatively short and climbing to the top of the tower makes for a great family activity. For those looking for a longer hike, you can continue past the tower on the Metacomet Trail. I highly recommend visiting this park and the tower for the wonderful views!
This place is great for nature walk.
A good place for hiking and keep on shape
It's a pretty park. There are restrooms. The first part of the path is very steep. It's not a light stroll. The views of the valley are pretty.
A great place for a peaceful hike
Great for hiking
Scenic and family friendly hiking area, Talcott Mountain offers a nice hike of the area and the trail is relatively large and makes it friendly for kids and elderly hikers as well as dogs. The views from the top are very nice as well.
Good elevation change and great views. Well maintained and marked trails.
Good place for a quick visit. We can park at the gate and then hike for around a mile leading to a watch tower
Beautiful place to visit
Great hiking trail also
Great hiking trails with plenty of parking.
Beautiful views and good hike up.
First part of the hike is always grueling, but so worth it!
The events and live music going on were great. It was a gorgeous day and the ice cream on top of the trail was probably the best part
A low to moderate steep initial part followed by a flat trail then a low difficulty to the tower. Again kids loved it. The historical tower at the top is open during certain hours. There are restrooms at the top. Fall would be a better time to go, but early winter would be less crowded.
This park had a nice path to walk and the scenery was good. Make sure to wear good shoes because the path is rocky!
A very nice place to hike. Had fun with the entire family. The staff is very nice. If you go hiking, please don't forget to bring water.
Talcott is a great short hike! And the outhouses are always clean.
Moderate hike to the top with some great views along the way. The first half mile is moderate with steeper inclines while it gets a bit easier after that. According to Strata, it's about 1.7 miles from parking to the top....so if it says it's a mile up and a mile back, I think that is not quite accurate. Overall, it's a fun hike you can accomplish in a couple hours.
Great veiw, and workout
Hike the trails. Watch the hand gliders. Exquisite place to just enjoy nature & beauty
Good for exorcising
Nice little park. The trail we took was very rocky (nothing new to us). We did the 5.2 mile loop trail. Absolutely worth the time. It was pretty crowded but it was also the first really nice day of the year.
Great hike to the top of the mountain and tower. The hike is a pretty easy 3 mile (round trip) with only the first .75 mile upwards. Kids 5+ can do it no problem. Several other trails intersect in the woods making it fun for the adventurous as well. The view of the area is always picturesque.
love this park so much, cant get enough of it. super awesome.
Super views , easy access fully marked trails. Crowded during forliage. Can find off-street parking.
I've hike up to Hublein Tower dozens of times & I'm never dissapointed. Always a great view
Love hiking here.
Great place to go for a day hike. Slightly challenging but lots of fun. Plenty of viewpoints to look out from. Be prepared for lots and lots of people, and come early if you go here on the Tower Toot weekend. Otherwise there’s usually not a lot of people here.
Beautiful hike especially at the top when you get past Heublien Tower
Beautiful with a nice trail
Beautiful view
Beautiful Scenery
Nice hiking trail! My husband and I love this place! Steep ascent to Heublein tower! If you love hiking it’s fun! And the view is amazing
Great hike up to tower. Went up yellow trail and came down blue which I would recommend as its I nice single track trail. Great views.
Always a pleasure.
One of my favorite hikes, awesome sights to be seen here. It's over a hour drive to get here and I try to get there at least once a month. Have to visit year round for different views on top of the mountain.
Great exercise and view of Connecticut from Heublien tower
Great place to mediate and relax yourself
Uphill walk to reach the tower, but places to stop and look across the countryside. An enjoyable meander!
This is my favorite place nearby Hartford downtown area. I usually come here when I don’t like to go gym for exercising. Going to the Heublein tower and coming back is like good 45 mins to 1 hour exercise. Hike is easy enough. View from top is charming but don’t expect anything exceptional.
Beautiful. Bring a bottle of oxygen with you for the hike up to the tower.... Holy hikes.
Love this place. Great scenery
Beautiful nature and tower! Great hike! Would do it again!
Rugged and steep at first but leveled out for a while before reaching a magnificent tower being preserved. Free. Bathrooms are outhouses with composting toilets - no odor. We were treated to seeing four hanggliders preparing for launch on our return hike.
Excellent, me encanto la vista , I enjoyed the view, the walk ,great workout
So peaceful and serene. The views are absolutely amazing.
Beautiful park
Easy hike, very well traveled. Great views and beautiful tower. Picnic areas are great! Bathrooms clean. Def coming back...
Had a wonderful experienced staff is friendly. And informative. Definitely worth the hike coming coming and seeing it. Just make sure to check the schedule when the tower is open.
It was windy today! But, great foliage views and not too crowded.
Great hike. Have done it many times. Awesome views. Especially when tower is open.
Good walking trail at Simsbury in Connecticut, around 30 minutes walking to the Heubrein tower from the parking lot to the top, easy walking trail, great views for all directions at the top of the Heubrein tower, public restroom available, picnic tables are at the top, video play for the history of the tower
Its a great hike! Theres a quick steep incline but it levels out after that and theres many scenic outlooks. The end of the trail you reach the tower which continues to have breathtaking views! It is an in and out type of trail. Super happy when we came across this spot!!!
This place is great. It can be a quick 45 minute hike OR an hour up if you take your time and enjoy the views! The top has picnic tables and the tower has facilities for use. The climb up the tower is even better and filled with more amazing views! Two types of walking paths...the one all the way to the top which walks along the mountain side OR the path directly up to the tower which cuts through the dense forest of the mountain. Suitable for elderly and young children dogs enjoy this too. There's also always a festival happening here:)
I like Talcott Mountain State Park because I went hiking on their trails it's very nice you can Hartford from Talcott Mountain but sometimes going up the hiking trail takes a longer time than going down the hiking trail because if you go down the hiking trail it takes a shorter amount of time.
This is a fun hike for people of any ability. The first part is a good climb, but once you get to the top of the ridge it's a fairly flat walk with some great views any time of year. In the warm months of the year you can go inside the Heublin Tower. It's a neat bit of CT history that offers even better views of the surrounding area. They have plaques in the observing tower that detail the local surroundings so you know what you are looking at. The trail is also dog friendly.
Really good view.
The trail is nice, but steep for strollers although a jogging stroller can handle it. The building is not open in the fall but you can walk around the grounds and enjoy the view. Would be a nice place for a summer party or picnic. There is a lookout over a steep cliff that people hang glide from. Not the best place/trail for wandering children due to the open cliff. Still a great hike otherwise.
Great hike, beautiful sight Fun history of the tower. Get to climb up it for free for an even for amazing view.
Nice wide trail. On the easy side but there are parts that get the heart rate up. Great views near the top. Good parking available. Housed toilets near the parking area.
We have had a lot of rain recently. So I suggest wearing high top hiking boots. Beautiful trail.
The park was gorgeous, offering beautiful views once you got to the top of the mountain. The tower itself was closed for the season but the hike was absolutely worth it. The lower portions of the park were kept very clean and the trails were well maintained. I would mention that there are sections that are rather difficult and physically demanding...but overall just about anyone could make the climb.
Omg! I thought I was going to pass out. I loved the trail on the mountain side but I am way out of shape. I'm going to try and substitute one of my gym days and visit here this at least once a week. Here's to my health!
Been here few times and every time realized how lovely this place is. Beautiful views and hike to the tower is worth it.
I absolutely love love LOVE this place, the views are gorgeous, you're going to have to really climb for the first 300 meters but it is so worth it, and once you get there the paths leading up to the Heublein Tower are pretty flat so not much issue to traverse the terrain after the first hill. Its always lively there from 10am to 2 pm unless its a special day and even then people love picknicking there. So if you're looking for a romantic spot for you and your special someone or even just to go get a run of an intermediate level of difficulty, you will definitely enjoy it regardless.
Hard to walk, too much insect (especially in summer), but good place to see
the views are spectacular here, family loves it here, great park to have fun times with friends.
Lovely hike up
Excellent place for an hour hike. Amazing views so make sure your phone is charged. :)
what an incredible place to spend time with friends and family and enjoy nature at its finest!
Serenity, fresh air, beautiful views, like walking thru a post card.
the hike itself wasn't too hard, the people hiking around me were nice, and the view has to be seen to be believed.
A walk up, for my niece bday....to get to the top is beautiful
Simple little home with beautiful views. I especially love the home in Fall and at sunset. When the tower is open, it's worth the walk up to see the 360 views from the top. A lovely little gem of a park just a few minutes from Hartford. Highly recommend. There are always a bunch of dogs on the trail, so if your dog doesn't interact well with others, it might not be a fun walk.
This place is a must be in Hartford County. The trails are in really good shape, the views of CT are incredible specially form the Heublin Tower.
A great not too long hike can give you a great superb view..
Beautiful park. Be ready to hike though the trail is steep!
Great view, would love a map up the trail
Quiet, easy walk up to the 935 feet Georgeus views toward NY, and MA states.
Other than the nats. Beautiful hike!
Fun nice hike, if you go with your puppy you can't go inside the tower.
Great hike to a tower, tower closes at 5 so get there before then, takes 30-40 min to hike up.
