I went there just once to take some pictures and it's so beautiful. Definitely a good place to go with family and friends. But if you don't like crowded places then you should look for another place close by or go during a normal day. I went there on Memorial day and ... It was packed! The place in the pics is going up the hill right next to it.

This place has a nice view of a lake in between small mountains. I gave them 3 stars cause they dont let people use flotation device or any type of ball in the water. If you wanna play ball outside the water that's fine

$22 entrance fee is a little steep but worth it. Nice lake area to swim in, plenty of bbq/picnic space and nice scenery. You will see a bunch of vultures but they won't bother you

Came here to get baptized, place is beautiful staff is friendly, great place, for bbq, beautiful lake water is clean nit sure about fishing rules You can pay for your parking online in advance.

Great place for a walk with a beautiful view by the lake. Plenty of picnic tables and public mini barbecue grills. On the summer it also has a small beach by the lake. Free parking at the spot with and extra bigger parking on the next block

A wonderful place to go kayaking. Very tranquil. The park does get crowded on weekends, so if you can go during the week it is so much better!

Excellent place. Less crowded. Beautiful water. So far best place I have visited. Clean and wonderful park authority. It is accessible for everyone including handicaps. My father in law loved this place since he was able to roam around with a floating wheelchair (hopefully that's what it called). Cleanest public bathroom. Nice trail.

Very beautiful hikeing trails for anyone to enjoy they have everything you could need a great lake/river to fish in and they even let you rent kayaks on the property. There is also a pretty good sized beach section to go swimming and relax as well as plenty of "mini campgrounds" to chill at with a grill and picnic tables. Overall this place is very beautiful the hike me and my friends took alone made us want to come back.

Been in CT 7 years now. This was my first time there. I appreciate that there were 4-5 lifeguareds. It's really pretty. Picnic areas are clean. I also appreciated that 2 families near us had their music booming (with curse words) and were immediately told to lower their music down by one of the park employees. My only complaint os that there was bird or dog poop throughout the sandy area.

Fun park to go to when it's dead. I haven't been here during the summer yet, but from what I hear it's a nightmare. I'll definitely check it out, as I live a 30 second drive. But the views are awesome, it's huge and it's clean(at least right now). It's really nice having a park like this so close to home. I just wish there was more parking.

I go there with my kayak to get exercise and relax on the water. There's picnic areas and a beach section and fishing is also available. There's trails for hiking also. It's a beautiful lake and a great place to take the family.

Extremely strict. Came in Labor Day, police were harassing ALLLLL minorities in the park. I already knew we couldn’t play music loud but I was told by park police anyway and they told us if we don’t like it get out. We weren’t even playing music, there was no need to talk to us like that , especially in front of children. I would never come back to this place again.

The park is pretty clean although there was some plastic and chicken bones on the beach. There was also some tangled up fishing line on a piece of driftwood I picked up. I didn't see any garbage barrels so take your garage with you but …

Giving 4 starts only BC I think the swimming area should be a little deeper. Its only maybe 4 ft... Nice picnic and BBQ areas, clean beach they rake it all the time. Nice place to fish or just relax

Not a lot to do but there is some walking. Not much of a beach - it’s rocky and small. Lots of grilling area - bring your own grill. Take a hike. Expect others to be blasting music so you cannot heat sounds of nature much.

We went swimming and had a BBQ. I want to caution you to get there early enough so that you can get one of the shaded spots as they get claimed early. There is fishing and hiking as well as boating, on nice days it can get crowded. Anyone with CT license plate gets in free, out of state visitors are charged a fee per car.

Very fun. And clean a great place to take your kids to enjoy themselves and have a barbeque plus there is parking with a picnic area with tables there are rentable canoes to take to the lake and there are even park security to ensure the safety of everyone

Filthy. They need to get rid of the geese or clean up after them. The facilities are completely unusable. Beach is loaded with goose droppings.

Squantz is always fun there's a beach a crapload of pick nick tables and a couple of great trails. Went here all the time in high school and its definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Try to go on a weekday when its not super busy.
