We had a gift cerrificate for a puzzle room for over a year, and when we finally used it we realized that we should have done it a long time ago! This place was a blast the hour goes by so quickly while the team is running around try to solve one puzzle after another. We got about 90 to 95 percent through our room, but that last 5 to 10 percent had us chasing our tails! We will be back to kick butt on another escape room!

Made the appointment to go with my girlfriend. Staff was friendly . Nice clean place. Good puzzles . The place is open late also so u can go after work with them being open till midnight everyday. I will be back to try the other two rooms when we get a group of 4 or more people. They also take your picture when they are done

The experience was amazing and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to try this, or even if you skeptical. The family was very nice and they did an amazing job creating the escape room. You felt like you were actually in the situation, rather then a room with a few decorations. The puzzles were also very well thoughout out and executed. I don't want to spoil anything about them, but it was such a blast. I'll be coming back one day to beat the second room.

Great escape room, the first I’ve ever done. Now that I’ve done a dozen or so I can see that it’s a little rough around the edges in terms of production but super clever and uses a ton of puzzle mechanics to keep the experience varied and challenging. Have to try them again to see what new rooms they have devised since 2017. I’m sure it has evolved and I am excited to check it out.

I tried this for the first time. Never did anything like this before. We were two 75 year olds, two 50 year olds and two 20 year olds. Three generations together and we had a blast. We are all excited to try another room. It was challenging and fun at the same time. Will try it again at Christmas time with more of the family.

Went to puzzle theory for the first time with another couple last night. It was really fun. Make sure you book ahead! The staff was super friendly and engaging. The puzzle was the right kind of unique though admittedly a bit silly but still enjoyable. The puzzles where each a little bit different but all able to be linked together to make sense. We where a group of four but the was a group of eight that started their puzzle at the same time. Having no idea what they did it must have been pretty hard or large enough for eight people which really makes this a cool event for a group. Definitely will return to puzzle theory!

What a fun night. Pros: very creative, wonderful staff, engaging, clean, fun for kids and adults. Cons: we couldnt finish because it was so hard! We were warned though that we may not finish, again, because of the wonderful staff.

This was my first escape room experience and it was FANTASTIC!! A couple of people in our group had done them before, but they were NOTHING like this. These guys have done an amazing job at designing these rooms and creating a realistic experience with all kinds of props, and incorporating electronics...so freaking cool!! We did the Wizard Realm, and if you're a fan of the wizarding world, this is your room!! Now we want to do them all!! Thanks for an amazing experience, Puzzle Theory. I wish we could give you 1000 stars!!

Great experience! Very well developed and themed puzzle for both escape room novices and enthusiasts. Our group did not quite finish within the 60 minutes, but the owner was kind enough to let us take a few extra minutes to complete the room. 5 stars!

So. Much. Fun. We went with a group of 16 teachers as a team building exercise before the start of our school year. The clues were super helpful without being giveaways. The staff was watching our every move through the cameras and seemed to know what we were thinking/ what we had discovered in order to give us clues when we prompted. All three separate teams had a wonderful time. This was a highly detailed and incredibly exciting experience :)

Had a decent time, story was good, and puzzles were not too difficult to solve. Had a few minor problems, but nothing that would say to not go here. The room felt cramped for the recommended group size, and our party had some difficulty moving around each other. Would say this is a good place to try if you have not done escape rooms before.

After playing 248 escape rooms, it's rare to see a company create such a varied yet masterful span of experiences, however, that is exactly what Puzzle Theory has done, creating a wholly refreshing series of games in an increasingly oversaturated market. In each room, players are taken into the world of Dr. X as he repeatedly puts you, or himself, into danger. The first of the series (chronologically) places you in his office after he goes missing, requiring you to puzzle through his eccentric notes and belongings, forming a brilliantly executed traditional escape room with strong puzzle flow and a humorous storyline. The next sequence, The Experiment, yet again follows Dr. X, with the main exception being that you are now the subject of his bizarre science experiments. This game is far more puzzle focused than the former, allowing for the highly skilled designer to zero in on its highly enjoyable gameplay. The Dimension Gate is in my opinion the company's strongest game, combining the same story and puzzle design with sleek set design and strong technologies, creating a game that's different from start to finish. The Jungle Dimension, their latest game, expands upon The Dimension Gate and includes several unique gameplay elements sure to please beginners and experts alike, yet again providing a strong and clever puzzle set. Besides their incredible games, the staff was amazingly friendly and even allowed us to book off schedule to play all four back to back, a gesture greatly appreciated. I cannot wait to see what they produce next, and would highly recommend anyone who enjoys escape rooms or wants to try one play at this brilliant company run by brilliant people.

My team has been to over 50 escape rooms, this one ranks easily in the top 15! The theme of Jungle Dimension, which I won't spoil was a personal favorite of mine. Good combination of tech and gen 1 puzzles. Nice use of sound (often overlooked by room owners) , the GM was smooth and helpful with the clues. We will eventually do all of their rooms. There are lots of escape rooms around CT, this one will appeal to the enthusiasts and beginners.

The staff was friendly and helpful but the room, the interview, was really unimaginative. I've done a few other escape rooms and this was my least favorite, there was very little creativity in the puzzles themselves. I was really disappointed with the room overall.

Really loved it! Went with husband and young adult children. We did the wizard room. The decor was very well done. It was an immersive experience, which for Harry Potter fans like us, was great fun. Lots of interesting things to figure out, and interactive wands that were used throughout the adventure. Wasn't easy, but saying the magic word got us hints that helped focus our attention in the right direction. We did escape!

3-Star Experience, 2-Star Room Anyone with $100 and a sharpie could have built this room. Nothing unique, no surprises, no handmade props or interesting artifacts. This is all understandable since the Connecticut escape room market is not very competitive, but I would consider this the lowest of the low. Puzzles are challenging and it’s still fun, if you don’t care about style or production value. In my opinion, it’s just not worth $27 per person. Just build your own escape room at home; it’s basically the same.

Our group of 3 completed a level 4/5 puzzle here. This was the first time any of us had done something as in-depth as this, and we enjoyed it immensely. The puzzles were challenging, the story was engaging, and the hour flew by. We would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys an intellectual challenge. Fantastic experience overall.

Awesome experience. It was a surprise from the kids for Fathers Day. We did the Dimension Gate and it was just the right level of difficulty for us to be challenged but at the same time also successfully solve the puzzle. We will definitely come back for the other rooms as well

The staff was amazing! I volunteered to help a group of special needs people partake in an escape room and the staff completely understood our circumstance and let me and the other chaperones scout out the rooms before hand so we could figure which room would best suit our group. They were very helpful getting us set up and answering our participants questions and at the end we didn’t finish and they came to let us and our and one individual had trouble accepting we didn’t finish so the staff gave us the final hint we needed and an extra moment to complete the puzzle we were on. Very understanding and kind staff who were prepared and organized. Plan on taking my family there sometime to try the same room again. Puzzles were interesting and fun for every one including me (21) and my mother (51) and all of our participants. 10/10 would recommend. Great time. Amazing staff. Tons of fun.

My husband and I have done a handful of escape rooms. At Puzzle Theory, we did the first two rooms of the Dr. X trilogy, the Interview and the Missing Doctor, and they were some of our favorite escape rooms to date! There were tons of fun and cool puzzles to do. I liked how there were lots of different interactive puzzles and my favorite part was a special souvenir for solving the room! The first room was great for even just 2 of us, with a variety of puzzles that complement our different puzzle/game skills. The 2nd room would be good for at least 4 people and harder for just the 2 of us, but it had a great consistent theme throughout and lots of interesting objects that you wouldn't see elsewhere. We will be sure to come back when they open the 3rd room in the trilogy!

This was an amazing time. Did "The Interview" with 4 people, and it was a ton of fun. Interesting and engaging puzzles and problems abound in this exciting and challenging escape room. My group and I were a bunch of first time escape artists and didn't know what to expect, we were kind of nervous we were going to find out that we are all dumb, but this place made us feel comfortable and excited before we started; thanks Nick! On the other side of this experience I would tell you, do not miss the opportunity to play at puzzle theory. It was a challenge, but normal problem solving ability and your instinct will get you through. Can't wait for the next encounter with Doctor X!

The experiment room was a blast. I like how you can complete the room at level 6 and continue to attempt to complete the more difficult portion. Our helper was fun and informative without being invasive. He did a great job of passing along the rules and hints with a perfect dose of humor. We will definitely be back to try the other rooms.
