The quiet corner of CT. The whole area is under-utilized so there is never a crowd. My destination is usually the Boy Scout Camp, but the surrounding forest is a great resource.

The trail was very short and the terrain was rough - uneven, rocky, and hard to navigate without twisting an ankle. It was more of an adventure than exercise. If the trail was longer, it might have been more worthwhile.

A great secluded location to go for a hike. It's very easy to feel far away from civilization in this forest, and it's a nice change from the city. If you plan on hiking, make sure to bring plenty of bug spray! Overall, I recommend the Nipmuck State Forest for anyone looking for a little nature or to go for a hike!

The eastmarch shelter was taken by a dad that wasn't paying attention to his son of roughly 12 years. I was disappointed in his parenting but I persevered. I hope his actions in no way reflect the state of this forest but I don't think they do. Overall a good time.

We put it into Google map though we would stop for a nice picnic near the water ... Got to a sign that welcomed us to the park, said it would be open till sun set and drove an drove and drove no signs talking about the trails ... Just a tire trail that took us up and down hills and into a cobble trail... Was scary, creapy.... Very nerron road with lots of turns and very steep. Very empty no a in sight....and jus lots of huge flies hanging on our mirrors

Pretty location for a day or even weekend hike. We visited in early April just after snow had melted and had zero bugs but lots of sunshine.

Very tranquil place. Visited in late January and enjoyed the snow covered trees. Lots of GeoCache sites and historical grave markers. Only complaint was the amount of garbage on a lot of the trails. Ended up collecting a large bag full at the end of our trek. We also saw some dumped furnature and many tires close to the road. All in all a excelent place to go hiking, just be mindfull of nature while your there.
