Nice walking trail. Dry, smooth and easy. Just over a half mile to the water. Not a lot of eye catching scenery this time of year.

I've visited this park a lot in the past for years, it was a park my family visited frequently. It has been a number of years since I visited as I was living in NY. I noticed they started to expand the parking which is nice as the parking section at the street is very limited. However, my most recent visit was very disappointing. There was a great deal of trash thrown about the trail on the way to the water. My son was spotting pieces as we walked which alone was upsetting. Then further down the trail I started seeing full trash bags spilled out along the sides, large piles of cups, food wrappers, etc. It really upsets me to see such disregard for the area. People were partying at the water, grilling, playing loud music, etc. Treating the place like their own personal backyard. Only I bet they treat their own properties with more respect. This disrespect needs to change, these people need to clean up after themselves and respect the other people that visit the park. Next time I visit I'll be bringing a trash bag and taking some of that garbage out with me. Please join me in the same if you read this review and visit the park. We cannot perpetuate their mentality, I understand "they" don't learn from this but "we" don't have to leave it that way either. If everyone decided to leave the mess for those who already don't care nothing would ever get better before it no longer could. Remember, you might remove the one piece of trash that could have otherwise hurt or killed another living thing. Every piece matters!

Great Mountain Biking. The trial fun, flows well, not too technical and definitely worth the trip. Take the red trail on the left as you get into the parking lot and keep on it till it merges with the purple by the water. The whole loop took me about 40 minutes. I'm a downhill guy so I'm not great uphill, but George C Waldo State Park had easy enough uphills that I didn't need to walk it much at all.

Great MTB trails and a nice spot to swim!

Not well maintained (owned by the electric company). Only open Memorial Day to Labor Day. Kayak/canoe ramp to access Lake Zoar/Housatonic River,-not drive-up, although guests sometimes feel this is their private beach, and there is no signage and no staff to prevent this. This park would be nice in spring and fall although I don't know why it's not open. It is open limited hours in winter for viewing eagle nests, however, it is by appointment only and you have to pay the Audubon Society to gain access.

Excellent MTB trails for an intermediate rider. A couple of quick sections, but mostly technical switchbacks and rock gardens. Runners often do not obey leash laws and their dogs have a really bad habit of jumping in front of tires. Just be careful while out there.

Free parking, recently maintained bike trails, access to the river/lake on hot days, option to have a picnic and a bike. Great local excursion without a big deal of travel needed.

Went there to do a little riding. Nice little park. I liked the single track trails a lot. Nothing too technical, smooth and faster spots. Cool place.

This is a great park to hike, bike, or walk your dog. There is an extensive trail system that goes down to a lake with some very scenic views. Parking is easy and convenient at the trail head. Parking is usually easy but on nice days the parking does fill up quickly. For mtn biking the trails are flowy single track with a couple of technical rock garden areas but for the most part it is pretty easy to navigate.

Always love coming hear with our dog Tehya. Nice easy family walk to lake Lillinonah, there is also a longer more engaging purple trail used by mountain bikers. Very easy access any time of the year. No facilities, just woods!

It was OK. Nothing compared to Huntington state park, but OK if your in the area.

Great place to ride mtb, it's hilly and a little technical, but not as intense as other locations. fyi, due to the May 2018 storm there are trees down everywhere. don't expect this to be rideable very soon.

It's a good place and really quiet place to spend time. It's like 15 min to walk to the river.

Great beginner to intermediate mountain bike trails. There are no bathrooms on site. You can walk straight down the fire road to lake lilanoah; there are no life guards and is posted no swiming.

Excellent single track trails for mountain bikes! Alot of switchbacks and mild technical climbs and obstacles. Good for beginners to intermediate. Not too many hard uphill climbs.
