Must visit national park. Awesome drive from one end of the park to other end with a visit to visitor center at an altitude of 11000ft

Bailey Baldwin

Took Old fall river road one way and trail ridge road back through the mountains. There are amazing stops and trails throughout the park. Also good fishing in the Big Thompson River. Absolutely beautiful.

Luis Montenegro

Got here at 5:45 AM (woke up at 3), drove two hours, didn't pay, and got an amazing hike early in the morning! It was SO perfect, peaceful, and empty. After a few hours it started to get amazingly packed, so wake up early for your hikes!

Jeffery Davis

I could never say enough good things about this park. I recently moved away and this is one of my great losses. It's gorgeous, a wonderful educational opportunity and worth a visit whenever you get a chance. Truly one of the more important sites to visit if you are near the Rocky mountains.

Corissa Violette

One of my favorite places. It was wonderful to see the wildlife. Roads are well maintained. A definite must do if you’re visiting Colorado

Vincent Verweij

Beautiful park. Lots of visitors, so plan outside of the weekend if you don't want to run into too many people, but even with its popularity, it remains gorgeous. I hope the trees recover from the pine beetle.

cori clark

One of my favorite parks! We saw elk, moose and big horn sheep all in one day. There's lots to do for all ages. I grew up coming to this park

Michael Parker

All I can say is WOW. One of the most beautiful and natural trips I have ever been on in my entire life. Up close and personal with many types of wildlife and breathe taking views. Highly recommend❣

N

The view!!! The altitude!!! Catch a sunrise & a sunset. You’ll be happy! Also, wear warm clothes, even in the summer the elevation it gets cold, gloves on your hand cold. Definitely worth it!!!

Vivian Valencia

When I'm in Colorado we always try to make a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park. This time of year (late September/early October ) the elk are in rut. And as an added bonus, the fall colors are starting to peak. Take drive over to Bear Lake or catch the free shuttle and see some nice color. Another bonus of bear lake is it is wheelchair accessible. We packed a picnic lunch and found a nice spot to sit and look at the views. Head over to Moraine Park from Bear Lake to catch the elk. Afternoon / evening is a good time. There are a lot of people so don't expect to get a lot of solitude but it is definitely worth it to watch the elk. One of the few places where you can be in such a close location to the elk. There are volunteers and Rangers to answer any questions you may have and to provide traffic control.

Deena Ward

Beautiful National Park that is a must to see! You will not bd disappointed! Beautiful, majestic and all things fairy tale like is what this natural beauty is all about. Stop at the pull outs and see for yourself. Walk some trails. Pack a lunch and enjoy your day. Do the round trip it looks beautiful from different approaches! See what America has to offer! Breath Taking! Enjoy!

Enes Akbuga

Absolutely stunning visuals! Great hiking trails. Lakes and waterfalls. Wildlife. And many more. Definitely recommend visiting this park!

Don Vance

A most awesome National Park. Magnificent hikes, magnificent drives, great camping. You will not be disappointed. Lots of wildlife everywhere! Bring your camera!

Francis Burghart

It's RMNP. The parking at Glacier Bay can be chaotic after 9 or 10 am in season. During shoulder months and winter you should find it easier. Elk season is nuts and of course Alpine is hit/miss if the road is open. Still one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. Fall is even more amazing when the colors pop.

Bob Sears

Really nice national park. Allows visitors access to tundra environments that you can't get to easily at other national parks. Bear Lake was a nice little hike, Alpine Pass made for a scenic drive, and the visitor centers were educational.

Linda Watson

It's a beautiful park but this time we visited it was to see if I- in my mid 70s- tolerate the high elevation- we are going on a trip soon that will have similar height. Rocky's was a close by test. Did buy an earring while stopped at gift shop. And we liked the less steep hike at the Tundra. The little info signs were good: they allowed you to stop for moments but not looking like you needed the short rest

Idiosyncrasy

It has been a incredible hiking journey here. The beauty these mountains contain is beyond the word. The trails, wild lives, flowers, and so much more. This park should be on your bucket list if you haven't been here yet

Lynn Perez

Gorgeous!!! Take a walk through nature and discover all the little critters running around and the huge Elk!! Beautiful mountain views all around, absolutely stunning views!! Nice tails to follow, some are harder than others but so worth it!! Peaceful, tranquil, spiritual and fun!! Highly recommend!

Corey Ballard

Amazing place super pretty! Go to grand lake and Estes park. The drive is fun and well kept.

randall hammond

This is my go to place in the fall. Seen elk, moose and deer. Stay at timber creek campground very quiet

Paranormal Society

This place is absolutely incredible. The views here are something you can truly only appreciate in person. It is worth the cost to enter and view. The sites you see along the paths are amazing and we had an amazing time going up the sides of mountains. The experience here is something I will never be able to forget.

Patty Ramert

$25 to enter park (car). Hiked Fern Lake trail to Odessa Lake. Absolutely beautiful but it's a climb. Wish we could've kept going but had to make it back before sunset as we didn't have night gear.

Daniel Annear

One of the best parks in the nation! They take such good care of this park and all the rangers and workers are very nice. They have the road around the park closed for certain times of the year so please check before you go because it is highly recommended to drive around the whole thing. Unfortunately the road to bear lake was closed(which is why I give it 4 stars) as there was no parking so my advice would be to go very early. Will hopefully go back one day

Justin Nguyen

Really beautiful views. Many overlooks or scenic stops.Bathrooms at many overlooks/stops. Saw a lot of wildlife (moose, elks, deer, marmots, and pikas). Very cool place

Anisha Dongol

Absolutely beautiful. I could come here again and again and never tire. The hikes are easy beginner level to mid level. Try doing them earlier in the day to avoid bad weather in the afternoon but if you're lucky with a good weather day it is actually quite pretty in the afternoon/evening time and safe if you stick to the lower trails.

Max Longley

What a great hike. Cascade falls was gorgeous. About a 2hr hike out. Ate lunch at the falls on the big rocks at the top. Scenery was beautiful. Saw some chipmunks a couple moose and a brown snake along the way. Definitely worth the hike.

Grizz Man

Wow, what a beautiful mountain range. The vistas are fantastic and seem to be never-ending. We went on mini back roads with local relatives and were able to see some really cool places which were off the beaten path.

yotam soen

Great park. Only did one hike to sky pond, but it was phenomenal. Great views, wildlife. Helpful rangers. Did get very busy on a Monday in late August

Sunil Mehta

MUST VISIT PLACE - lot of scenery, animal viewing and just awesome place. Use your time wisely. I would recommend hiking from morning to late afternoon and then animal viewing in the evening. We got to see elk, moose, deer in the evening.

Travis York

I have been coming here at least once a year since I was eight (34 years I have been coming} and this is still the most beautiful place I have ever been. From fishing to hiking, all the way down to just sitting and relaxing and taking in the view it is great. I did on the other hand have a little bit of a bad experience this year. I parked along the road on Fern Lake road to go hike to Cub lake. Where I parked I did not see any "no parking" signs and it was very obvious that it is used for roadside parking regularly but I and a lot of other vehicles had parking tickets on them. After looking further I realized as you enter the area there is a sign stating "no parking along road beyond this point". Obviously after all I was parked illegally but I felt it should be marked a little better. Minutes before I parked I gave 25$ for a one day pass along with countless other people that day, spend some of that cash on a few more signs. I have parked like this several times over the years and never had a problem there. In the last year they have also raised the price of park passes, ( I am fine with that) I am now concerned they are nitpicking and writing tickets to gain revenue. Hopefully I am wrong. This all being said, I will undoubtedly be back because the natural beauty, amazing weather and countless possibilities of entertainment. Until this year I would have gave five stars without a thought but now I will lower it to four.

Marilu Horning

Amazing scenic views! This is a beautiful park that you have to pay to get on but is well worth it. The road offers great lookout points.

Ying Luo

One of the most beautiful parks in the US. It’s crowded for the Labor Day weekend, would recommend either visit early in the morning (before 9am) or visit later (after 4pm) for the bear lake route especially if you want to drive there. Or you need to take the shuttle from Eates Park information center.

Phyllis Sandstedt

Remarkably well taken care of...no trash, buildings in great condition, very polite, informative happy rangers. Always a delight.

DeWayne DeLatte

One of, if not THE most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. We saw a ton of elk, some mule deer, moose and black bear. If your heading up that way, take the time to go to the summit by way of the “dirt road”... absolutely worth the extra time.... I feel very blessed to have had the opportunity the see this wonderful place.

Dave Cox

Bucolic Alpine park, crossing the rugged Rockies. Some parts occasionally closed even during summer months due to snow (we had to turn back one June).

Alicia T

Such an amazing place!! Absolutely beautiful, easy to navigate. Activities for kids daily. Free Jr ranger books with kids activities and scavenger hunt items to find.

Tatiana K

Very impressive! Just one recommendation - make signs more clear. I could not use the maps that I got at the visitors center effectively. And the difficulty of trails are not indicated. Other than that it is a great place to hike.

Jess P

I mean who goes here and doesn't love it? Be aware steep grades, curves, and not always a guard rail. If you are a confident driver don't miss it!

Gina M Summers

Breathtaking mountain views and you get to see some wildlife up close! Definitely drink plenty of water because as you ascend and walk around the winds and altitude will dehydrate you. We only spent one day here as we were short on time, but you could easily spend 3 days exploring.

Z Clemens

Amazing as always! Great scenic drive going through the park with plenty of stops to get out and snap pictures or take short hikes. Block out at least a few hours if you plan to just drive through, but I highly recommend checking out the ranger stations to get suggestions for hikes that fit your plans.

Brendan Roberts

Drove through and didn't stop, was still awesome. Trail Ridge has great views and you can't beat the highest paved road in the country. It isn't as spectacular as Yellowstone, but smells so much better. Highly recommended.

Dan Jennings

The hike up to Emerald Lake offered stunning views! It is quite steep and can be pretty crowded but there are many opportunities to take a break and let people get around.

Howard Cole

I’ve been coming here since 1969 and working in the park from 1985-1989. As retiree it’s my place to get away especially in the off season. Many Great pics here that I would like to share.

Michael Gaudio

Fantastic. Beautiful. At one of the pullovers, there were restrooms and a pathway that was navigable by this 75 year old, up to 13,300 ft. Lot's of stops to catch my breath.

Joshua Delbert Hermreck

One of the best places to visit in all of Colorado. Hike Bear Lake, Alluvial Falls, Emerald Lake, Dream Lake and so many others. Keep an eye out for animals, they are everywhere!

Joe Daniello

A spectacular drive, great places to hike, and a challenging bike ride. The best gift shop is the one at the Continental Divide.

Z Clemens

Amazing as always! Great scenic drive going through the park with plenty of stops to get out and snap pictures or take short hikes. Block out at least a few hours if you plan to just drive through, but I highly recommend checking out the ranger stations to get suggestions for hikes that fit your plans.

Kristi Hatakka

Amazing place to visit! Absolutely worth a day trip from Denver or Boulder. We saw an elk herd at the entrance and hiked to Dream Lake. The shuttle bus makes it really easy to access the different park trails from the main parking lot.

Renae Hammel

Beautiful park but very crowded even end of season. Trout fishing was good. Elk were out, plentiful, active and wonderful to watch. Very clean Park inspire of crowds. Parking is very limited. Go early, stay late.

Rach R

This is a lovely park with great accessibility regardless of your age or comfort level. There are enough great hikes of varying difficulty that I'm convinced you can spend years there and not see and do them all. It's especially fun in the winter - fewer crowds and plenty of great snowshoeing options!

Debra McCarthy

So incredibly beautiful. Take old fall canyon road. It's dirt but very easy to travel. And it's one way to the visitors center at the top. Check out the waterfalls along the way. The regular road is paved and beautiful with outstanding vistas and wildlife.

lorena Blanco

Beautiful! Checked off my bucket list. Day 1: easy trail to Bear Lake and Alberta falls. Day 2: took it up a notch used the Glacier Gorge trail to a slightly hidden Fire trail towards The Loch, hiked up to the falls before Glass Lake, rocked climbed to Glass Lake, rocked climbed some more to find the trail towards Sky Pond. It was tough but worth it!

Carey Daniel

Great park. Love coming here. So far have seen dozens of elk, several moose, and deer.

Renae Hammel

Beautiful park but very crowded even end of season. Trout fishing was good. Elk were out, plentiful, active and wonderful to watch. Very clean Park inspire of crowds. Parking is very limited. Go early, stay late.

Quincy Richter

Great natural beauty, enjoyed the sounds or lack there of while hiking. Saw wildlife, but was careful and respectful of their space.

Tom Trimmer

Stunning views. Wildlife great hiking climbing adventuring. Drive from West to east over trail ridge is better for some reason, both ways of course are incredible

Krael Suck

It was an amazing experience for me and my children to have. Very calm and peaceful environment. Campgrounds were very clean and maintained. Beautiful scenery and wildlife as well. Would highly recommend to anybody to camp in the area. I will be back next year or sooner.

Terrez Price

Must see natural beauty... Mountains, forests, lakes and wild animals will be seen! I’ve been in the hot summer walking trails but also took the Jeep up to a cabin with 6ft of snow on the ground at 9000ft! Stunning! I’ll always want to return here... Don’t hesitate to visit this natural wonder, take a 4x4, head down a few dirt road and don’t forget the spare gas can. Explore! ✌

Matthew Key

The elk here are so abundant and the fall mating season is in full swing. So to get to here there bugle across the canyons is incredible. The fresh mountain air, just take your time if you decide to go for a hike, so you can acclimate to the thinner layers of oxygen.

Chris Riba

Absolutely stunning. If you've ever wanted an escape into the higher altitudes of God's country, this is an amazing place to start!

Elaine C.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I live in Denver and my family and I go at least once a year, sometimes more! It’s beautiful, the animals are everywhere, and there is a lot of places to stop rather it be for a picnic or just to see the mountains! I’d recommend anyone stop here, and make sure that you allow a whole day to just drive, hike, walk, etc.. to really get the full experience. On a side note, we have found weekdays are the best days to not be overwhelmed with traffic and people. If you go on a holiday or during prime Colorado tourist season, expect some back ups. :)

Brandi Combs

I cant explain the beauty in words. You just have to see it yourself. You will NOT be disappointed!! Estes Park is a great place to stay to!

Jennifer Hubner

This place is breathtaking and is a MUST SEE. The nature is absolutely beautiful and the wildlife you encounter is unforgettable. The mountains climb to 12k feet and it can literally take your breathe away if not use to the altitude!

Aimee Lynam

I loved coming here!! It was a fun day of seeing beautiful scenery and ice capped mountains. So breath taking and gorgeous.

Brian Bartelt

Natural wonders galore! What a perfect way to spend a day in Colorado! Thanks to all the staff we met, especially the ones at Hidden Valley Jr. Ranger Station. The kids loved the ranger program!

HashBrown 2legit

Absolutely stunning!!! Wonderful for a day trip or longer, such a beautiful place. Wild moose and elk everywhere.

Katie Girdner

Amazing views! Absolutely breathtaking! Do NOT miss this park while in Colorado!! Lots of places to stop and take pictures. Roads were nicely paved. Go early if you plan to go to some of the higher trafficked areas.

Sreeni Reddy

We did Grey's Peak, took 5 hours to go up and 3 hours to come back. My 11 year old Son and 17 year old daughter did the hiking with us as well. It was a great experience and the views from the top of the peak is something that will be treasured throughout the life.

Shawn Hiniker

Take Old Fall River Rd. to the Alpine Visitor's Center and take Trail Ridge Road back. The best hike at RMNP is Loch Vale. Don't bother trying to find a spot at the trail head parking lots unless you are there at a very off time. The shuttles are free and will save you the headache of parking at the trail heads.

diana chetwood

Amazing beauty, busy the few weeks open each year, knowledgeable Rangers. Drive through, hike, hunt or camp. Go prepared. Windy and chilly at highest alpine points. Don't bring pets.

Bricole Filipovic

The most beautiful zoo u will ever visit

KN

It was an amazing experience, it was magical. The whole ride, you can get off your car and explore yourself or take a leisure drive and see everything the park has to offer. There really are no words, it's just somewhere you have to go for yourself.

Kristi Hatakka

Amazing place to visit! Absolutely worth a day trip from Denver or Boulder. We saw an elk herd at the entrance and hiked to Dream Lake. The shuttle bus makes it really easy to access the different park trails from the main parking lot.

Rhea Graham

Tundra hiking trail off Trail Ridge Road is windswept and cold even on the hottest summer day. If prepared for hiking at 12,000 feet elevation, a most memorable experience of a unique ecosystem. Very popular and drive time may be lengthier than estimated.

Inglis Reynolds

The hikes and views were spectacular but parking was not a good experience. For all the space they have in the mountains you'd think it would be easier to park! We spent 30 minutes looking for a parking spot but when we finally found one a lady came out and said it was reserved. We ended up parking on the side of a gravel road.

Betsy Wiedenfeld

Absolutely beautiful!! If you're in the area a must see for sure! The Visitors Center staff was very helpful.

Eh Buddy

I could come here a million times over! Such a beautiful and serene place! Even with the tons of people there when we were it was still so quiet and peaceful! I was having a really tough week and this visit seemed to calm my mind, not to mention how well kept it is! Very well taken care of!

Chris Collins

Love this place! Don't go where everyone else goes. There's so much more than the so called tourist traps and popular places.

Riaj Mahamud

We love the Rocky Mountain National Park. The roads on top of the mountain are fascinating. You will feel like riding on top of clouds. The white ice on top of the mountain is very beautiful. There are lots of spots or outlook along the roads to stop by and enjoy the scenic beauty. In those area, you can take take pictures or videos. There are a lot of beautiful long and short trails for hiking.

Amanda Nicole

Beautiful park with magnificent views all around. Trails are shaded and good for even beginners. Be sure to check out Bear Lake when you visit.

Josh Smith

This National park is amazing! Breathtaking views everywhere! Great hikes for all ages of outdoor enthusiasts! The wildlife is amazing. We were able to see moose and elk! The drive is incredible! A little nerve wracking at some points with big drop offs! I would recommend going for adventurers! Beautiful and breath taking!!

S Miller

This is one of America's GREAT parks. There are millions of visitors over the summer so be patient, it will be rewarded. There are day drives, hikes, and many places to explore and be awed by the Rockies. Say thanks to the park staff, they are amazing.

Rob G

Wish we would’ve had more time , this park has a beautiful drive one loop is gravel which is not bad at all. I would definitely go back to this park again.

Neeraj Gupta

It is truly mesmerizing. We did the hike to Emerald lake and the views are very picturesque. There are many such trails all across the Rockies, all of which lead to awesome views.

Jonny Five

I mean it's a national park. Of course it's 5 stars. If you were born on this planet, I can assure you that you will enjoy the park. Lots of wildlife depending on season.

Bob Xziang

Be aware of the dog/pet standards, can only be where cars are. Also people watching elk they move daily! Don't completely block the roads when they are trying to get to dark timber/valley in the AM.

Kaylyn Collins

BEAUTIFUL place to visit! We saw so much wildlife and the views were INCREDIBLE! Fun and easy ride for you bikers out there too

Kurt Haag

HOLY WOW! Beautiful park and drive in the mountains! Great hiking opportunities and wildlife sightings! We saw elk, mule deer, marmots, moose, and more! Love the temperature change as elevation changes. Definitely consider bringing a jacket or sweatshirt along, even in the heat of summer, since the high elevation temp is pretty cool!

Starra Wood

Incredibly beautiful! We hiked up to emerald lake and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Lovely trail and majestic scenery. Highly recommend!

Sarah

Beautiful scenery, unlike sights I've experienced before! If you're terrified of heights, the drive is NOT for you. It's a bunch of winding roads on mountains and the roads just are unending.

Keith Smith

Great park, very large and divided into sections. There were many places to stop as you drove through the park and places were you could get information, food, souvenirs and use the restrooms. There is a fee to enter and they take national passes if you have one. Well worth the trip and I wish I'd had more time to spend there.

Naveen Reddy

Great place for hiking. Stunning visuals and amazing lakes. I would recommend to reach early here since it’s hard to find a parking place. They have the bus service, you can park anywhere and catch the bus to the top.

Lisa Griffis Tasse

Amazing and beautiful. Make sure you visit the Visitor Center. We had great advice from Jack & Jennifer. They also have different maps of Bear Lake, Trail Ridge Road and other areas. Trails were wide and marked/groomed well.

R377

Wonderful drive and scenic views! The landscape and vistas change with the altitude, which makes the entire drive around the park that much more interesting! Pictures just do not do this place justice. Lots of wildlife to see, if you’re the least bit adventurous, too. The whole park is literally a nature lover’s paradise. Come early and stay late! If road trips to beautiful national parks are on your list, take the time to make the time to get up there.

Sean Ogilvie

Such a beautiful drive. Coming from NY, I can not believe the shear lack of civilization other than a road. It was incredible to experience and definitely will be back someday to do the whole loop.

One of the best vacations ever in my life. Felt so at peace! With return every time I'm in Colorado!

lorena Blanco

Beautiful! Checked off my bucket list. Day 1: easy trail to Bear Lake and Alberta falls. Sarah Pritchard

Take the drive. All of it. This was a Sept trip just before the leaves change. Above tree line there is still snow in the shady spots. Best get-away to cool off and escape Denver's hot summer days.

Martin Barrett

One of the premier National Parks in the US. Everyone should make a point to visit at some point in their life. There are so many fantastic views, from a wide range of elevations. We were lucky enough to see many different wildlife on our most recent trip, including elk and mule deer.

Jessica Rae

Loved going here. I've decided National Parks are so much better to visit than other local attractions. Wish we could have stayed longer to take in the views but we were traveling home and going through the park.

Susan Edward

If you haven't been in Rocky Mountain National Park you haven't seen the best park yet. The view was amazing! We had fun hiking. There was a falls which I fell in love with. It was such a beautiful site and such a wonderful display of wildlife! Planning to go back soon! I highly recommend Rocky Mountain National Park.

Schmorganbord

From the lakes to the wildlife, this park was beautiful. We sat by Mills Lake for lunch and dipped our toes in the water to cool off. The backdrop of mountains was breathtaking. The hikes were fun and a great workout with a little bit of a steep incline here and there. One of my favorite parts was seeing 2 adult and 1 baby elk grazing on the trees on our way back! They were gorgeous and docile, though we enjoyed their beauty from a far. You'll leave with unforgettable experiences!

Manuel Ortiz

Beautiful breath taking views. Great support staff and park rangers. Park rangers gave kids a booklet to keep track of the many animals and wildlife / plants we may spot on the way up.

Myrdon Corrino

Rocky Mountain National Park offers you tremendous views plus the chance to see various animals in the wild. You'll know there are probably some photogenic animals out in the open when you see lots of cars parked on the roadside. The entrance fee is $25 per car per day. However, if you think you might come back within the week, you're better off with the entrance fee for a week, which is $35 per car. If you like nature and great views this is a must-see.

Sam Hentges

Not a lot to say here. There are tons of really incredible hikes available from all skill levels. Do plenty of research prior, as there are options that are far better at different parts of the day. Pretty well established foot paths as well, making sunrise or sunset visits very accessible.

Victoria S.

Thia park was so very beautiful, diverse and accessible. The parking was an issue in some of the trail head and overlooks. The Ranger talk was entertaining and informative.

Sharyl Weinshilboum

West side is quiet and you can see Moose, Elk, Deer, Black Bears and Fox occasionally. Grand Lake area is great and relaxed. Everyone should visit the Rockies at least once in their lives.

Way Vog

The main reason to travel here for me was to take the highway through the park just to say I drove the highest altitude paved road,In the USA. I had already driven the Dalton highway in Alaska which is the the northernmost highway in North America. And the Dempster highway in Canada, (Yukon and Northwest Territories) which ends at the Arctic Ocean.

Mark Lyons

Beautiful, lots of hiking trails, elk but 1 1/2 hours to get through gate. Trails are packed, only way to get to Bear Lake is by shuttle on weekends. Expect bumper to bumper traffic.

Linda Stilwell

One of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. Worth the trip. Beautiful lakes to walk around, amazing wild life, great hiking trails. I go here often, and I'm never disappointed.

Ruth Krason

Wow, the roads are wonderful to drive on! Magnificent Fall foliage! So many impressive Elk, I never realized how large they really are. The park also has many fantastic hiking trails! A must see is Bear Lake, this particular short hike is great for young or old. Bring your hiking boots or a great pair of walking shoes!

Chatoorgoon Kavi

Great park, as long as you can manage the altitude. A lot of different terrain there is something for everyone. Stay hydrated and get acclimated before trying higher altitude hiking

Spiritual Pizza

THIS PLACE IS BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! Such a nice hike, we hiked the main trail that led to 3 different lakes: Nymph lake, dream lake, and Emerald lake, I 100% recommend this trail!! It’s quite the hike, so make sure you warm up :)

Debra McCarthy

So incredibly beautiful. Take old fall canyon road. It's dirt but very easy to travel. And it's one way to the visitors center at the top. Check out the waterfalls along the way. The regular road is paved and beautiful with outstanding vistas and wildlife.

Floyd Ward

We didn't see much Wildlife on this trip. There was a cluster of elk in Estes Park. But there's lots of very beautiful scenery. We took the Fall River route up the mountain. And went down the Grand Lake Side. Last year we took what I think was the Bear Lake side. Next time we're going to start at the Grand Lakeside and go up that way.

Frieda Wiley

Once you visit, you will see why this is one of the three most visited parks in the United States. My only regret was being short on time. Driving up to the top peak is epic, and there is no shortage of wildlife to watch—moose, elk, antelope, etc..Just be prepared for all seasons including the winter no matter what time of year you go.

Melanie Guyer

Amazing!!! There was a small bit of construction to where we had to completely stop for about 20 minutes each way. Definitely stop at the Alpine Visitors Center.

Ally Smith

One of my favorite national parks. Beautiful trails and drives throughout. You can find trails that aren't crowded if you want to avoid large groups. Lots of wildlife to see even if you only drive through it.

Michelle Vogt

No words. We drive up Fall River Road. The scenery was spectacular. The Visitor center at the top provided fantastic views of the mountains and the valley below. We saw a herd of elk on the hillside and other smaller creatures at the visitor center.

Doug Anderson

I usually don’t get nervous driving through the mountains, but man, that road up to the highest visitor centre was crazy! Everyone was hugging the centre line while in the outside lane. Be warned! This is a really great place to camp. The sites are nice and the scenery is beautiful. Just be bear aware. You don’t want to mess with bears.

Bill Mills

Definitely use the park and ride for the Bear Lake area trails. Get there as soon after the sun comes up. Trails are beautiful. Park maintained immaculately. Saw elk in Morraine area, moose at dusk on Beaver Rd area.

Rick Dunbar

We toured 11 National Parks this summer and this was one of our favorites. Lots of good hiking trails, fantastic scenery. Even though it was crowded, if we got up and out early we beat the crouds.

Marcus Thomas

Absolutely breathtaking! Do yourself a favor and visit. No matter where you travel in the park, you will love it! From hiking to camping to horseback riding, there are tons of amazing activities to take part in. Be out in nature and find something beautiful!

Thunder Birb

Just went here today to see the trees turn yellow. (09/14/2019) Unfortunately, the trees are not turning yellow as of yet. I would suggest going next weekend or even two weekends from now. Despite not seeing the yellow leaves, the scenery is gorgeous. It does get crowded on the trails during the weekend.

Sydney Herron

Absolutely loved our time exploring Rocky Mountain national Park last month. Highlights included hiking to Emerald Lake, and driving on the Old Falls River Road!

Rajan Adhikari

Awesome place to visit in a life time. I wish Nepal could build similar infrastructure in the Himalayas. Being a Nepali, I could see lots of potential touristic destinations.

Kathy Hess

Beautiful park. Lots of people for a Monday. Shuttles running, but schedules seemed variable. The majesty of the mountains makes up for any delays.

James Dunbar

Don't visit without your camera or cell phone. Great photo ops abound. Wise to check ahead especially in fall/winter months for road or area closures.

Such a beautiful, peaceful place. Loved the wildlife. We saw two birds if prey while there which were just mesmerizing to watch.

John Turner

Great. Parking can be crazy if you get there after 1100 but don’t worry. Park where ever you can and take a shuttle to where you want to hike from. Super easy.

Chris Bierman

Place was pretty cool! Plenty of places to stop and pull over take pictures and just look and enjoy it. Nice gift shop wasn't too overpriced and the Rangers were all very friendly. I would return.

Cameron Adam

Beautiful, breathtaking views. It can get pretty crowded at times but it's always worth the time. There should be classes on mountain driving

Debbie Weeks

I absolutely fell in love with this place. Word to the wise, avoid weekends and go early. It's a very popular place! They also have shuttles in the park (free) to go from trail to trail, or take you to a trail if the parking is full. A lifetime of hikes and views, all in one park!

Judy Moss

Beautiful! We went early September. We got there around 5 pm. The ranger at Beaver Meadows Visitor Center was very helpful. She gave us tips on the best things to see with the daylight we had left. Stunning Mountains. Beautiful wildlife. Gorgeous drive. We went back in the next morning up to Alpine Visitors Center. Wow!

Robert Blackford

It was great. It took us 7 hours to drive through (we stopped a lot for photos). We saw a deer, a herd of elk, a mama and baby moose as well as some awesome scenery.

Michael Eltiste

We just drove up the old dirt road to Alpine pass. Saw a few elk and marmots and ground squirrels near the upper tree line. Summit walk was quite cool and worth the effort.

Don LaRue

Always fun! Saw a couple of cow moose this trip, but no bull and a lot of elk. A beautiful place and the animals are a great bonus.

Stephanie Jose

So beautiful I definitely needed more time than half a day to explore. I will be back to camp and spend more time there. Lovely views.

Meg le Comte

Being a National Park Fan, I enjoyed my visit to Rocky Mountain National Park. We went to see the aspens and the views. Check the weather always first as it can be tricky. Been here with complete fog on top, but on this September day it was nothing but blue skies and golden foliage.

Bill Hensley

Visited during National Public Lands Day (free admission!) and hiked around Bear Lake. Crowded, but beautiful. We also watched several herds of elk and heard the bulls bugling.

Natalia Mikolajczyk

This place is beautiful! We really enjoyed all the hiking trails in this park. We went here in late May and unfortunately Trail Ridge Road was closed due to snow. We will be returning again!

Matt Slade

It was definitely worth the $25 to go to this park when my wife and I were in Colorado. Untainted beauty, we went in July when some of the snow was still on top of the mountains which was an awesome site. we decided to just do a scenic drive and it took us about 2 hours to go from 1 entrance in Estes Park to Grand lake.

Marcia Hall

What's not to love? RMNP is absolutely beautiful. The forest and plants are beautiful, the abundant wildlife is awesome to catch a glimpse of. The hiking trails are plentiful and most seemed super easy to follow / were well marked. Just an absolutely wonderful place to spend a day or many days.

Linda Simmons

This is one of my favorite National Parks. You won't be disappointed. Every turn in the road is better than the last. Don't miss it!

Alexandra Szabo

One of the most beautiful places in the state. All the rangers and employees are knowledgable and will help you create your perfect day. If you don't want to take the shuttle, make sure you are arriving before 8:00 a.m., even on the weekdays! These pictures are from Bear Lake, which is a .5-mile leisurely walk.

James Mason

Estes National Park is a great place to visit and many sites to see. We went horseback riding, went up through the tundra, saw glaciers, hiked and saw lakes and falls. Plus what makes this park so special is we're visited for our family reunion as we are Estes and Joel Estes was my great great grandfather. Park is a must see!

Darin Cooley

Incredible views and Wildlife. We stayed in the Timber Ridge camp ground. It was nice, but not many trees in the campsites. The view around it is nice and we saw a couple of Moose just down the road. There are Elk everywhere too.

Nitish Jaiswal

A must must visit if you're in Colorado! Bear lake is breathtaking. Do go to the visitor center first. They're really helpful and will plan your trip for you

Terry Dragich

AMAZING! EVERYONE SHOULD SEE/EXPERIENCE THIS IN 2-3 DAYS TRIPS TO COVER AS MUCH OF THE PARK AS POSSIBLE. GREAT ACTIVITY FOR FAMILIES, GROUPS AND INDIVIDUALS.

Alexis Haynes

Beautiful!! Must see! If you have never been here you should. Your missing a wonderful and breathtaking place. Grab a picnic basket and have lunch in mother nature's backyard. Or wake up early to get a parking spot and hit the trails. Make sure you bring water and jackets for up top. It does get windy and weather conditions change quickly. Also please respect the wildlife. You might even see elk or moose but remember they are wild so keep you distance. Be prepared and have fun. I Would highly recommend.

Renee Gleason

Beautiful! Right now their are several bull elk around. We saw a bull moose at sheep Meadows in the evening. Take time to get a hike in. Remember to bring plenty of water on your hike.

Art Freak

This place is gorgeous and so full of beautiful scenery! Only downsides are that you really have to plan ahead and watch the weather, you also have to get in early to avoid crowding.

Lucas Shanley

Colorado must be one of the most beautiful places on earth. My wife and I traveled out for a wedding in the area and it was simply stunning!

juanitoh ibarra

Amazing scenery !! Great for family adventure . Tips: -Bring snacks !! Far trip -Fuel up before entering mountain -Downshift manually when going downhill to save your brakes

Carol Schnabel

I like the area, reminds me of Glacier Park and Alaska. Beautiful water fall nice walk to trails but road could be muddy if its raining for Chasm Falls. The rest of area keep your eyes open for wildlife everywhere.

Susan Castellion

Amazing!! Make sure you dont miss seeing peaks into the Park year-round on a Grand Adventure Balloon Tour near West entrance!! 10 Best most beautiful places to do so!

chad ellison

A+++. Always a blast being here. Been here over 30 years and still love it. Glad they added a separate and bigger parking lot over the years with quick shuttles. The great outdoors and hiking is the best I have witnessed. Employees are busy but if you ask them they are always more than willing to help.

JM Stubbs

Everytime we come here we always find something new to see. This is one of my favorite national parks.

Baha Amro

A 25$ entrance for your car, totally worth it. All you need is strength and time and end your journey in Alpine information Center drink coffee. A great experience and you will see animals don't worry :).

Patrick McCarel

Just a gorgeous park with miles and miles of hiking trails. High Alpine lakes, snow melt waterfalls, easy to difficult hikes, and lots of wildlife make this park a week long excursion. All of the Park Personnel and Rangers are super nice and helpful!

Eric Krueger

It's all about the trees, wait no the elk, wait no, the camping, the hiking... just too beautiful. Then comes the snow and snow shoe hiking, when you see the tracks and a pristine beauty like you have never seen before.

Jon Rademacher

Very very scenic. Make sure to take shuttles when you can bc you won't be allowed parking some places. Lovely views. Very pretty

Angie Nickell

Beautiful park. Make sure to get to the park early to avoid significant crowds. Make sure to give yourself time to adjust to the altitude if you are a flatlander!

Rach R

This is a lovely park with great accessibility regardless of your age or comfort level. There are enough great hikes of varying difficulty that I'm convinced you can spend years there and not see and do them all. It's especially fun in the winter - fewer crowds and plenty of great snowshoeing options!
