It's a good place for kids, families and young people. You need to plan your day well else you cant complete all from your list. We visited when they started Halloween nights so parks closed at 6, giving even less time to manage

It was the first time I visited this place and I absolutely loved everything. The rides are amazing, the tour guide and the drivers were wonderful. Staff was friendly and the restaurants had the best food I had. I recommend the Lard Lad doughnuts. Also Count Dracula was either from my country or he somehow knew my language(Romanian) and that made my whole day. I will remember this day for the rest of my life and will come back as soon as I get a chance. Thank you so much for this amazing experience.

What an awesome place and memorable.Another out of this world experience. Loved the 3D simulations, especially the 'earthquake'. Studio experiences was great. Special effects show eye opening. Also the stages were interesting and made everyone watching has smile on their faces. Love this place and visit again.

Aside from being a fun theme park, I was so impressed with the staff here on a multitude of levels. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, professional, and more importantly, HAPPY. I felt as if they actually wanted us to have a good day. A ride would glitch? Someone would be right the at the end with a fast pass slip to make up for it. No questions asked. Everything was so convenient which made for a fun experience. What surprised me the most was their food and how carefully thought out and well made it all was.

We came for horror nights and had so much fun! We come every year and always get the RIP Tour. It's so worth the money. We get front of the line and have a personal guide taking us to every maze also takes to every maze and we get a meal! Plus free parking or free valet. Universal Still knows how to do Halloween right! We always enjoy our family trip here. Cant wait to come back again next year

I found the Hogwarts castle light show very entertaining, but overall I was disappointed. Lots of waiting, too many people. The 10 minute castle ride was exciting but not worth a 2 hour wait. The castle was too dark to enjoy any of the side attractions along the wait line. Limited rest rooms. Hogwarts restaurant does not have a toilet. Had to go outside to the toilet. You need more sitting areas, benches, shade. I wanted to see Homer. No luck. I compare it to a county Fair you should go once. Once is enough for me.

Stephen O'Shea

Great park. Loads of choice. Picked a great time to go there as lines weren't crazy long. World Famous Studio Tour is a must see!

Richard Lister

The park is great! Centrally located and with some truly dedicated employees. The rides aren't diverse enough, but the tour is a great offering that shouldn't be missed.

Nicholas

Getting the Express pass is very convenient but, the rides are extremely short. maybe a minute long. Express you wait maybe 5 minutes and hop right on.... I would be really upset waiting 45 minutes to 2 hours for a ride for it to only be a minute long. I got to ride everything once and see all the shows. being there 10am to 1030pm. General parking is fine because you may want to visit the restaurant and clothing shops just outside the park, kind of has a Times Square vibe. 85% of the Lunch and Dinner entrees taste good, the prices are insane but that's what it is for the Theme Parks. Download the Park App to get Wifi and an interactive map that shows your location in real time so you don't get loss, you can setup alerts for an itinerary of events and shows to go see and do. 12(+) rides 3(+) shows averaging 45 minutes a piece plus eating and shopping. it's a long day. I won't go again. glad I did.

Hasan Mohammed

Beautiful and great place for kids over 6 years. Recommand to plan managing your time with the rides. We spent 10 hours in the park with unforgettable moments of fun. Try to go off peak days

Steven Mitchell

If you're going to an amusement park and spending 100 dollars to get in you might as well go to Disneyland. I know they're completely different parks but this place isn't worth 100 dollars. We went to Disneyland earlier this week and maybe that's why I feel this way.

There is a lot of spot to enjoyed here. Place was incredibly awesome and worth to visit. Great place for friends and families. It's getting busier as the years go by but I can see they are expanding. The lines for the ride aren't too bad on the weekdays.Remarkable place and excellent

Fae Evrnyt

Had some good shops, but Universal Orlando has more rides. Beware of the chicken though at the Jurassic cafe they have it sitting in a pile under a light, and mine wasn't even cooked thoroughly.

Crystal Johnson

So amazing. The studio was fabulous and the staff was excellent. I am a hard person to impress and this is by far one of our new favorite places. I cant wait to come back soon!

julia bara

The roller-coasters are all for small kids so they are not too fast at all which is unfortunate. Also one ride is about only q minute long but you have to stay for an hour to ride. Besides that the shows were amazing and the tours as well! I recommend the animals star show.

Justine Morris

One of the best theme park in America. As a person who are interested in film making I gotta say the idea of combining a functional movie studio and a theme park is brilliant. For this reason I enjoyed Universal Studios Hollywood far more than Disneyland. We had a great time here with my friends and it was remarkable experience as well,

Phillip McNair

This is definitely the perfect place for EVERYONE! Perfect for families to enjoy, dates with that special someone, or just a place to get away to for those solo adventures. The rides are unlike anything I've seen before, completely immersive, giving the experience of actually being apart of the action! Even if you're not in the mood for amusement at the park, Universal City Walk is a nice hub to hang out with friends and let loose with those you care about the most. Universal deserves the title: "The Movie Capital of Hollywood."

Damond

Closes @ 6pm witch is before the sun even goes down. In my opinion the Florida location is much better. Still had fun though! As a pin collector I was disappointed though because I couldn't find a pin that said, "universal studios Hollywood" when I asked if they had any they said they don't sell a pin like that.

Justin C

It's fun but super tiny. The food is outrageously expensive. I paid $23 for a turkey leg and hot dog with drinks. There's less than 10 rides, if you buy express, you can hit them all in just a few hours.the rides mostly have the same format, and there aren't any significant thrill rides. Harry Potter World is cool, but pales in comparison to Orlando. Still worth checking out every couple years, but I couldn't imagine having annual passes.

Mark Jones

Universal is a well run theme park with a mixture of thrill rides and shows. If you're interested in the rides I suggest getting the speed pass to avoid the lines. Lots and lots of walking, wear comfortable shoes.

Jackie

Not alot to do. The best part is the tour. If you buy a refill cup, it's hard to find anyone willing to refill it. We would go up to a cart to get a refill and they would say oh we do do refills here. So not going back. Oh Jurassic Park was a great ride

Chris Colman

I had a seasons pass because I love this place. I’ve been going here since I was a kid and will always continue to come here. The lines can get really long during the summertime, but if you have time to chill and have a seasons pass then it’s not so bad because you won’t be able to get on many rides. If it’s your first time maybe don’t go during the peak season or you will be waiting in long lines. But all in all it’s always a great experience especially since they are always changing it up.

Radhika J

Nice hangout place with friends and family. Can be done in a day if you are there when it opens. 2 day pass is a good idea if you are local to LA metro or a frequent visitor. I was not very happy with the rides though. Liked only Harry Porter. Food options were just okay. Setting up Indian snacks eatery is worth considering.

Free

Very cool place! I love that they allow you to bring in outside snacks and water, although there is restrictions so check out the website just to be safe. There’s lots of rides and most of them use video or projection screens so keep that in mind if you’re prone to motion sickness. The mummy is one of the best rides and is a rollercoaster type ride. Highly recommend the studio tour, super entertaining and an awesome look at how movies are made, definitely on of the best “rides” in the park. I don’t recommend buying food in the park, maybe a quick snack if you need, but for lunch and/or dinner go to the city walk. It’s right next to the park and has tons of cheap food options and sit down restaurants and will save you 100’s of dollars on food. The park is doable in one day with time to spare on weekdays. Two days might be good for weekends or holidays. Overall it’s a cool experience and worth it at least once. Be sure to stay until dark to see the Harry Potter light show and the park in a cool new way!

Derhem Abdellah

Loved it! Really great shows and rides. You must check out Water world - awesome. Some of the queues are a bit daunting, you may wait 150 minutes for Jurassic ride, unless you take the single person queue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do the WALKING DEAD! It’s amazing. Also download the app to get the most of your experience. The split levels are a treat offering you amazing views of Hollywood. Lots of cool spray areas to help cool off. Staff were friendly and helpful. Be prepared to queue for everything and use the shows timing boards to help you get around the park because as one show finishes you can usually walk straight to another starting.

Jay Munoz

The hospitality of every employee we encountered is the best of any amusement park my family has been to. We were encouraged to take pictures with our own phones at every encounter. We are staying at the Hilton in Universal City and it was the best travel decision we could have made with a 2yr old and 4yr old. The main gate is in walking distance, maybe 5 minutes or you can take the shuttle that arrives every 10 to 15 minutes in front of the hotel.

Kanjana Chaksangchaichot

I visited this place with my friends quite late around 2pm. Unfortunately, it was the first day that the closing time was changed from 9pm to 7pm. Anyway, I have a chance to play 4 rides which are Jurassic World, Transformers, Mummy and Harry Potter. All are fun. I love them all.

Renata

Great day (or two) out. So much to do and see. You must not skip the Water Word show which we enjoyed greatly and went twice. Good rides, nice places to eat. Definitely best to go during weekdays to avoid crowd.

Jcx

This is where childhood dreams are created. Movies here that gets to other countries look up to their super heroes created by universal studios. One of the best parks you should visit atleast once in your lifetime because this is where the epicenter of movie creation is happening. Water world is not to be missed. Good special effects and props. The special effect is a little bit dated though and needed to be updated to the 21st century.

Cheryl Kaiser

Oh my gosh, had the best time! Last time we were there was 15 years ago. Love all the changes. Had a wonderful time. Definitely worth the money. Bought season pass. Can't wait tho go again!

Willy Allen

It was gray. Kids had a lot of fun. The Echoes pad is definitely worth it., didn't stand in line long for any ride we went on. Went through the park with no problem. Wear your best walking shoes, the park is huge.

CC Christensen

We had a great time and our tour guide Robert P was THE BEST. He was able to get us thru all the rides and was so funny yet professional. He provided safety and lots if information. We saw sets of shows and were provided with lots of water and food. Oh the food was so delicious too by the way. The rides were so amazing! Better than expected!

Lisa Patburg

It was my first time to L.A. & Universal Studios My gusband & I planned a 5 day trip and US was first on the list. We had an excellent experience! Everyone was friendly and helpful. The attraction was clean, and so were the restrooms. The Express Pass was the way to go! Definitely start early and you can fit it all in! Really, really enjoyed ourselves!!

Brandi Hendricks

HIGHLY RECOMMEND INVESTING IN EXPRESS PASS! We were able to see and do everything in one day because of it! Lots of misting fans everywhere and very short to no times due to express pass. We found just the one time through each ride express pass was more than enough vs. the unlimited

Marydale Spincer

Bucket list venue. New Harry Potter attraction quite a spectacle. Lots of other shows and features. Nicely maintained. Help from ushers throughout the park. The tram tour of the back lot has several surprises in store. Food and drink is a bit pricey in places but there are more reasonable eateries as well. There is a lot spot enjoy the. This trip was absolutely remarkable and fantastic.

Kristina Derosier

Amazing rides (especially Indiana Jones) and great atmosphere. All of the details on every ride are so on point and it feels just like stepping into the movies. Star Wars Land is amazing! There is something for everyone-regardless of age.

Victoria Fernandes

So much fun! I’ve gone twice and loved it! Food prices are a little high up there, but still the food is delicious! Rides are so much fun and the Universal app is so helpful with wait times and show times! I love that lockers are provided for certain rides as that is really helpful as well as single rider lines. The views throughout the park are so amazing and picture worthy!

Keri Longacre

Universal itself was great but the hours were not so great! We were there for the full 8 hours and only got to do 3 rides, the tour tram, and one show. We saw several characters but didn't really have time to stop and take a picture with them which was a complete bummer. I had mapped out and planned everything according to what I had researched and read online. We made the best of our time as much as we could. We were so pressed on time that we barely had time to stop and grab a quick bite to eat. The experience would have been so much better if they hours were extended during this time of year. I did not get an express pass because according to what I read for an October visit you probably would not need one. My advice is to BUY an EXPRESS pass it is worth the time and money from what I now know!!!

Miguel Lugo

Super fun day with the family. Be prepared to wait a few hours for the major attractions. Express passes are definitely worth buying. The child swap option is a really great concept that allows each parent to ride without waiting in line twice. All theme parks should have this concept. It makes it for a more family friendly experience. Overall worth the money for the experience and memories.

Shriram Acharya

The best place to visit with family for a wonderful time. Lots of awesome rides and things to do. Harry Potter world is their prime attraction. Transformers ride, Jurassic Park are next best. Do not miss the studio tour and do not forget to carry a good Camera as you will be clicking pics all day. Prepare to walk...a lot as this park is HUGE, but it is worth all of it as it is the most beautiful theme park in LA.

Justin Eubanks

The staff all over the park were kind and all seemed happy to be at work. We felt more welcomed here than at Orlando. The Jurassic Park ride improvements are amazing! Thank you for not retiring Curious George. It was the highlight of my son's trip to San Diego (yes, we drove all the way up). So, of course, it was the highlight of our trip, as well.

Brandon Lee

First time here is okay. Mainly just a big amusement park for sightseeing and to buy things. Not meant for me but as a theme park, it's pretty good. Relatively cheap and would come here again with friends.

Alicia Ocaña Martínez

Very fun place. We felt like we saw all that we wanted to in one day, so I wouldn't spend more than one day here. Jurassic Park and Flight of the hipogryph were amazing rides. The studio tour was also quite interesting. We did ours in Spanish and the guy was quite fun

WRogers 24

Love hanging out at Universal Studios! We have our Annual passes & we love going back often to see all the changes that are taking place & to see what productions are happening. There is always changes happening & new rides being built.

Michelle Shockley

We had three day passes but for us that was too many days, the park can be done in one to two days. I also thought it was crazy that they didn't have a special parking pass for more than one day, so wa had to pay to park each day and that was pretty crazy! But for the most part we had fun!

Grace Salazar

I had a super fun time at Universal Studios/Halloween Horror Nights. My husband and I did the 2pm early entrance tickets which I feel like is the best deal! Enough time to experience the regular attractions, while also getting in early to the Halloween festivities. I would give it 5 stars but I had to knock it down 1 for $27 parking.

Sebring Whitaker

Park is fun, staff was helpful. If you are going to the regular park I suggest not going during Halloween Horror Nights. They close early and shut down rides and shows even earlier. Harry Potter portion of the park was awesome, my kids loved it!

Dana AlShawaf

Went to the horror nights, it was so much fun! We took the express tickets, totally worth it! We finished almost everything, make sure you wear your most comfortable shoes because u will walk A LOT. Be prepared to get scared, A LOT.

shawn kaul

I absolutely love this place. The exhibits are always entertaining. The food is reasonably priced for an amusement park, all liquid refreshment is high priced. The convenience of shops, food, and parking is great, they really planned this place well. There is plenty for kids and adults. The world of Harry Potter is hands down the best area of the park. I have gone multiple times just for that. I hope Harry Potter world stays around for the next 20 years or more. The special affects show at the castle was better than any light show from Disneyland. GREAT JOB UNIVERSAL.

Randal Higby

WHAT A GREAT TIME!!! During our trip to California not only did my husband and I make a trip to Disneyland but we also made a landing at Universal Studios. We have been here before but we just had to make a review this time around. May Jurassic Park the ride rest in peace... Jurassic World, welcome to Universal Studios... Just like Disneyland, how can anyone give Universal Studios a bad rating. Jurassic World and The Mummy were definitely our favorites! Of course the whole day was just a blast! Of course with a husband like I have, you can't but have a great time!! We splurged at bought a HUGE donut - you know the Simpsons donut. Pink frosting with sprinkles. We did the VIP Access...so waiting in long lines was not an option. Our recommendation is to go for the VIP if you can. The tour is cool because you can eat breakfast in the VIP lounge and have access to the warehouse of props, etc. The lunch is definitely better than the options out and about in Universal Studios. Don't get me wrong, the snacks and junk food are something we all want to do while in theme parks and even on fairgrounds....enjoy it! I am sure that we will return to Universal Studios.

Joshua Cornejo

The lines were extremely long. Granted it's going to happen with that many people, however they've been holding this even for years now and should come up with more efficient ways to get people through the attractions without having to pay for an upgrade. Customer service can use a boost as well.

Alyasin Hossain

Universal is always a great place to be. This place is more like a family place. The simulations are amazing but if you are looking for the thrill of your life, this ain't it chief. Another thing that is terrible about this place are the lines, epically since it's universal studios. Some lines just stretch on till the end of time.

naman pandadiya

The employees and very nice and very friendly and great with giving specific direction on which ride and giving great wait times on ride. The park however is kind of dirty and certainly not as clean as Disney which is odd as Disney is much bigger than universal. Great experience Anyway

romeo carlos

One of the best places to spend wonderful time with family. Various rides and tons of stuffs to do here. There are some amazing stuffs like Harry Potter world, Jurassic Park and so many more. Keep your camera handy. You will be needing it quite often!

Robert Manley

What makes the 5 stars is the platinum season pass. The one time express line on every attraction makes it all worth it. Only 8 min line wait on a Friday, and the ability of financing it makes it affordable for everyone of their willing to pay 34 a month.

Ken Denardi

So we did the RIP tour when we purchased the tickets they were pricey by the end of the night we definitely knew it was worth it... some of the mazes were 2 to 3 hour wait each You're brought right to the front of the line and you get to go right in.... You have your own personal tour guide with you and a meal is included....

Rohan Dasari

My review is totally for child age policy. I think universal studios should consider changing child age policy to 5 and above instead of 3 years. I have to pay 100+$ for my child with not a single ride or attraction being allowed due height limit which is usually 48". And I don't think any child will be that tall between 3-5 years.

Virtual Fright

Great theme park with unique attractions. Though the VIP pass has deprecated over the years, and it is not that big of a theme park. With the VIP you could potentially visit all the rides in less than a day.

Eliza Oldham

Did the VIP tour and highly recommend it. We had a wonderful time! Our tour guide was Dawn and she was wonderful!

Markpaul Chohan

Had a blast it is a really nice place to visit. I liked the misting fans they help out a lot in the heat. The rides were too notch and staff is wonderful.

Christopher Gallacher

Ok so I was very sad last year when I went on the last day of Jurassic Park ride. I didn’t think it was possible to make it better. It was amazing and loved the film and the ride. But universal I take my hat off to you. Jurassic World Ride was amazing and fantastic and what an experience. Not giving spoilers but it was amazing. Love the park in general. The express unlimited ticket was the best decision I made and managed to ride Jurassic World 7 times. It was amazing and thank you for this. I live in UK and it was the highlight of my trip. Love the Studio Tour, bring back more Jimmy Fallon and the Tram Song it was hilarious.

Diana Mendez

We love it here!! If it's hot the kids are able to cool down in the Minions water area or the splash pad. It's a great way to take a break from the rest of the park. The studio tours are always great too and you never know who you might see or what they might be filming. We enjoy every attraction here!

Tommy Andersson

Really great theme park! All the rides and 3d simulations were great, some better than others but overall great quality, you had to stand in line for 2 hours for some rides though which was to be expected so if you aren't gonna be there from opening to closing an express pass would be good to have. The studio tour was also interesting and fun and it was nice to sit down for an hour after standing in all the lines

Ivanna Tavarez

It was great, I suggest you get Express tickets or you will be waiting in lines for hours and defeats the purpose. However Universal definitely needs a major reboot because most rides were down and we had to wait a few hours to come and back and ride. I never got to go in Jurassic Park as they were also down.

mary de leon

It was awesome! The Jurassic Park ride is a water ride lots of fun. The Harry Potter ride was really fun and exciting. The food was expensive but good. It was a great day! Loved it

Christine Trinidad

This is such a cool place to go because it's so easy to get to and the rides are unique. My only complaint is how long the lines were on some of the rides but you can't help that in the summer. I will definitely be coming back.

Rose McCormack

We thought for sure lines were going to be very long for the Labor Day Week-end. Of course there were still lines, but not as bad as anticipated. Our group of 13 definitely had an amazing family bonding experience!

TJ Dow

If you haven't been here it is a must! I suggest going some time in the late summer early fall as school is back in and crowds are low. This is one of the best amusement parks in the area and is a must do as part of any California vacation!

Tânia Frazão

I cried when I arrived there. Lots of emotions considering I grew up watching movies. Placed well organized with loads of people there to help you if you need. Halloween theme is amazing. No words to describe the amazing experience. Thank you universal.

Daniel Shreeve

Did haunted horror nights and it was great. Do highly recommend spending the extra money for the express tickets. Was completely worth it, got to hit all the rides and mazes in one night and went to the front of the line right away.

eulalia riffle

This was our first day in California. It was fun and great rides. I am a penny press collector. Not to many here. None in Harry Potter and the one near the Mummy one was broken. Very sad

Esther Grace

Super fun! I recommend this place when your in la. Good food. Love the Harry Potter castle ride - definitely go on that ride even though it’s quite a long line but it’s totally with it! Don’t forget to try butter beer it’s an absolute must. However, I’d wish they would a few more rides to enhance the place. Good place to visit!

Hi Hi

If you go to Hollywood and don’t visit this place then you’re losing alot! This place is magical... food & drinks are little pricey! Have your water bottle and wear your comfy shoes

Rick

Kinda disappointed. 30 years ago the tour had you seeing much more. The rides are a long wait time for a very short experience. And frankly, for a movie studio, they could do a better job with the special effects. One notable exception would be the Jurassic Park ride. But even on an off day the wait for a 5 minute ride was over an hour. All that said we did have a good time. But I can wait another 25 years to go again.

Bernice connolly

Got here on a Friday at the end of September at 10 am. At this time, the lines moved pretty quickly and no fast pass was needed. Everything was pretty well organized and bathrooms were clean. The only thing I didn't like about it was that the prices for everything there is ridiculous. But it's a tourist money pit with pretty fun rides.

Charly Omegaz

Great, entertaining and fun. In fact it's so great everybody wants to be there which makes it just good; it gets crowded and wait times are long. Wait times are longest around 3pm, ranging from 60minutes to 240 minutes (4hrs) in the newer rides. Would recommend bringing (card) games if in a large group or bringing your best friend. Ps: Bring comfortable shoes.

Abigail Reed

I really enjoyed getting to meet characters and get photos with them. They don't have a whole lot of rides, which would be fine if the souvenirs weren't crazy over-priced. You need to try the test seats on the rides first because my friend and I, who are barely overweight, couldn't get the bar to click 3 times, only twice, so they escorted us back to the front. The park staff is really nice, so my unfortunate experience wasn't particularly on the fault them, but so many people shoved me around to rush into some of the attractions that there were plenty of seats for. There was also very little shade over many of the lines and very hot. If you don't like rides and want more shows and interactive experiences, they don't have many options. Overall it was still somewhat enjoyable but considering prices not sure it was entirely worth it. If you want to make the most of the hogwarts experience, you should go through the line for the flying ride. That's only way you get to explore the castle. They have lockers at the start of the castle so you don't have to carry everything. Also so you don't have anything to hold on the actual ride.

Chris Bart

Visited a few times now on our season pass. Way better than it was 6+ years ago with lots of characters to get photos with, more rides, and a short walk outside of the park to Citywalk with lots of food options if your looking for better food for basically the same price as in park. We loved Harry Potter land, just wish they could have made it bigger, Jurassic Park ride, Mummy ride the most. We recommend and will be back again! Biggest Con: parking is very expensive! The parking is very nice and adequate, but now at Disney parking prices. Unfortunately, they have got you, as there is not really anywhere else to park. I guess if the Red line subway

Karla Moriel Abduljabbar

I love universal studios, this is hands down one of the best theme parks in the country. You can see everything in just one day and lines are not as long as Disneyland. The rides make you feel like you are part of the movies and lots of amazing special effects.

Steve Morales

Hogsmead is amazing. Disney could learn from this. We also love the tram ride which is always a little different. The new Jurassic world upgrade is great. They also have the best haunt anywhere!!!

Brock Whittaker

Last time we were there was 15 years ago. Love all the changes. Had a wonderful time. Definitely worth the money. Bought season pass. Can't wait tho go again!

Scott Conder

This is a really fun amusement park. There are quite a few rides. The park is laid out pretty well, but you should still plan your days beforehand to maximize your time.

Paige Malkow

Such a fun place to go to. I had a wonderful date here with my boyfriend. We saved up for tickets, and spent the whole day!!!! I'm looking forward to going back!

Liliana Lee

Went here this past summer and had a blast! The new Harry Potter theme attractions really made it as if I was a character there in the movie. And the use of magic wand to unlock hidden tricks throughout the park was really creative. Loved the Mummy and the Jurassic Park rides, will definitely come back again!

Bee Lam

What a great theme park, me and my friends had a wonderful time. The waiting time wasn’t that bad, but the rides are relatively short. Everything looks really cool.

Ritu Dhariwal

Amazing Place!!! Be prepared to wait a few hours for the major attractions like Harry Potter, Transformers and Jurassic park rides, so keep snacks and drinks with you. Take single ride option if you have group of 2-3 people, there waiting time is very less. Obviously worth spending the money for amazing experience and memories.

Georgina Phillips

There is a lot of spot to enjoyed here. Place was incredibly awesome and worth to visit. Great place for friends and families. It's getting busier as the years go by but I can see they are expanding. The lines for the ride aren't too bad on the weekdays.Remarkable place and excellent.

parkman

It was fun! But the Orlando parks are better and more fun The only attraction that does not have parks in Orlando is the "Studio Tour" which has 4 attractions in fact. It is fun and unique. Beyond that, the new "Jurassic World" attraction is amazing and well worth the visit. The rest of the attractions are fun but pretty familiar. The park is smaller and there is a "nearly fifteen minute" journey between the bottom and the top. To sum up - the park is fun at Universal's tradition. But if you were or are in the future in Orlando, that is definitely enough. Harry's world is far more developed and spectacular in Orlando.

Robin White

The reason I would like to give five stars besides the fact that Universal is a great time for family( slightly pricey but hey it’s LA), is David who worked at the minions ride in the silly land section of the Park. His customer service and attempt to go beyond his duties to make a small child that didn’t meet the height requirement feel special, was truly what makes universal so great. Thanks David. I hope someone important reads this so that you can be praised at Universal for your great customer care!

Wow such an amazing place to go visit. The variety of attractions. We went during horror night and it was amazing. Getting the early entry helped get into the mazes faster before the lines filled up. For on atracttion the wait was nearly 2 hours. It was almost worth the wait but by the time we got to the attraction we were quite tired of waiting. Overall it was a great experience.

Susan Najjar

I bought the year passes, and my daughter and I just love to go. We both love the Harry Potter world. So much fun. If it's your first visit, the personal tour is great. It is pretty expensive, but you get to see a lot of the working studio with your personal guide that others don't have access to.

Lorraine Noble

Universal Studios Hollywood was awesome! The attractions was amazing! The Universal Studio Tour exceeded my expectations! Two of my favorites were The Walking Dead and seeing the Bates Motel. What a wonderful time.

Anna Torosyan

Awesome place to visit! Lots of fun rides. Best to visit during weekdays when the wit times aren't as long. I recommend the Revenge of the Mummy Ride and the Harry Potter rides! Family friendly and lots of food options. If you're into being scared, then The Walking Dead Maze is for you! There are also shows that you can go to including Water World, Special Effects and Animal actors. If you're lucky enough to talk to the host, you can even participate on stage during the Special Effects show!

Ree Squared

We arrived at opening and paid for general parking which made us walk through the Universal City Walk. By the end of the day we wanted to crawl to our vehicle. OMG loved the mummy ride. Waited 90 minutes. Lines were VERY long. The Jurassic Park ride was really cool too. Be prepared. You will get substantially wet on this ride. I think that wait was 120 minutes. Harry Potter simulation ride was worth 45 minute wait. But as mentioned the mummy was the best. We stayed until almost closing and had the chance to re-ride the outdoor Harry Potter roller coaster 3 times in a row. The light show outside of the castle was amazing to watch. Expect to arrive at open and stay until close. The French fries sold near the transformer ride near the escalator were excellent and reasonably priced. Overall this is a great family venue. Plan to bring your own water. There are fountains to refill them. Also, load up on sunscreen for the long waits in line even if you are a person of color. Sun rays are strong and harmful to ALL skin!

I honestly thought "been here, done that" but with visiting family.....oh my goodness, I had so much fun my face hurt from smiling/laughing at the end of the day. Visiting family has left and I'm debating whether to go alone or with hubby or 70 yr old mom who loves thrill rides.....

Sai rama9

Very nice place to visit other than DISNEY if you are young or adult. I feel DISNEY is more fun for kids. Universal studio have fun rides and theme rides. Lot to explore here once you reach here. I spent 7-8 hours here from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM on my labour day long weekend 2019. It is good memory in my life if I rewind back. It is even fun if you visit this place with your Girlfriend or fiancé. Good place and I recommend it to everyone who want good amount of fun. I have taken help Of working employees of studio for prioritizing top most rides/ attractions to start with to avoid time waste. I utilize my 6-7 hours as per my notes. Harry Potter, mummy, transformers, fast and furious, studio tour, Jurassic World, king-kong-360-3-d, walking dead, Simpson’s ride, water world, special effect show if the precedence list. If you have time you can see other as well.

Freddie Johnson

Hollywood Horror Haunt at Universal Studios - Pretty awesome!!! The mazes were fantastic as usual. The kids seemed to enjoy themselves tremendously during the mazes and haunted houses. You definitely have to check it out if you like horror films!!! The only downfall is the long lines...if they could speed those up in some way other than paying for a speed pass it would be even better!!

Matthew Joyce

Great place to visit...some amazing rides and shows. But...they need to have more rides...the wait time for Harry Potter was up to 4 hours today which is just unbelievable. Also not a fan of their express pass system where you pay for a 1 time express lane for each ride and preferential seating at every show. Overall really good but the wait times do tend to kill the magic unless you're willing to pay up $100 extra per person for express pass.

Maria Klein

I liked this place very much. I was in Universal Studios Orlando before this park and they are completely different. If you want a lot of cool rides go in Orlando. Here is only few rides like Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey or the Mummy. There is also no Hogwarts Express train in Hollywood (in Orlando it connects parts of the park). BUT if you want to see real Universal Studios, the process of making movies and special effects, real filming locations and decorations, you must go in LA’s Universal Studios. I’m a big movie lover so I enjoyed it very much.

Alan Collier

I came with moderate expectations and was ultimately happy with the experience. Lines were typically faster than reported, rides were pretty good entertainment and the shows, while rather short, were fun and informative. I loved all the diversity of the guests, from all around the world. Yes, the park could have been a little cleaner (sticky handrails are my annoyance) and food/souvenirs are way over priced...but this is to be expected. Worth the experience.

John Tomei

Great place to visit must check closing times are accurate. We went on line park said they closed at nine. Inside the park we were told they close at 6. $139.00 for tickets. Would have went there much h earlier if I knew they would close 3 hours earlier then the website listed.

Eric Munoz

Wow! This place has changed a lot throughout my life. From passing over a decrepit bridge and Cylon battles to now being flung around Skull Island by King Kong. There is quite a bit to see here. Their specialty seems to be the simulator rides that pull you into the action alongside your favorite characters. They still have the famous tram tour that guides you through the back lots and various shows to enjoy.

Angela Brossia

We had a blast at Universal Studios Hollywood. Did the VIP tour on our second day. Our tour guide (Donna) did an amazing & awesome job making sure our family had everything we needed or wanted that she could help get. She made it fun and entertaining for everyone in our group. Definitely worth the money and time to go around and see everything there.

subham saha

A memorable visit! A great place to spend a day! The queue was a bit long but the rides were really great! Started with the Harry Potter theme park cause that was the best! Then to mummy and Jurrasic World ride! The large 3d projectors are really stunning!

Cassandra Caswell

What a blast. We did the universal express pass unlimited highly reccommend doing this as no line took us more then 10 minutes and the non fast past lines were 60 minutes plus. Characters were constantly out and you could find them constantly around the park. Great family fun.

Daniel White

Last time we were there was 15 years ago. Love all the changes. Had a wonderful time. Definitely worth all the money. Bought season pass. Can't wait to go again!

Mark Caval

If you are thinking about getting the express pass, unfortunately I have to say it is worth it. We bought normal tickets online and upgraded there. Some ride waits are over a hour and then the ride only goes for a few minutes. We were on every ride within 5 minutes because of the pass. Food prices are pretty fair for a theme park, the staff a very friendly. I would call it more experiences over rides. We enjoyed the Mummy the most and the Water World show was amazing. Go early to get onto things and avoid lines. Universal is a must when in LA.

Bronwyn Mitchell

Wonderful day spent exploring with the family. Haven't been here since 2002! Lots of change and expansion... On my "need to again" list for my next overseas holiday.

Valli Aman

I love universal studios and I even like before you enter they have a shopping area which is like universal plaza with movie theaters and wonderful shops and even if you just want to go for a date and a dinner at 1 of their yummy restaurants you'll have a good time and if you go into the park it is definitely worth it... You will spend some money there but when you get home and see what you bought and the phone that you had you'll know it was all worth it and you'll remember it forever

Aide Cazares

First time at universal studios and it was super fun. I guess we made a good decision by going on a weekday when kids were in school. The longest line we waited in was 40 min long.. it's definitely pricey but we'll worth it. We also loved that there is SOOOOO many food choices.

Ida Steinberg

Great place for family fun! One ride didn't work. I was in the park all day and wanted one meal that wasn't kid food. I found no restaurant that offered a hot meal with meat and vegetables, pasta, salads, etc. There are restaurants on the Universal Walk; but, that's no help when you're in the theme park and want to sit for a healthy meal for a while. Yes, I'll return as long as I have kids in my world and can handle the walking.

Alice K

What a fantastic place, paid the extra money for the VIP tour. Its been 25 + years since I've been here and its completely different. Its worth every penny for all the costs involved.

Julian Fritsch

It was a super cool day! If you plan your stay right and arrive early in the morning you should be able to visit most of the attractions in one day. However I highly recommend the free app the park has to look at the waiting times and plan your stay according to that. If you don’t want to wait you can boy a fast track ticket, but it is very expensive. I think it is 120$ per person per day but you don’t have any waiting times!

Colton Whitmer

It was really cool. The animal actors is a must see. The studio tour is very fascinating. It was cool to see all the different soundstages and back lots. Butter beer is overrated I did not enjoy it.

J M

The best part was the studio tour and Harry Potter land. I was very disappointed with the wait times for rides. Got there at opening and was only able to go on three rides before leaving. Good thing there was a dispensary in walking distance.

Roya Dardashti

The day when I visited , it was of complete fun.I found myself as a reviving child. It was a family outing and we enjoyed a lot specially the kids. All the rides are very interesting and thrilling. There are other shows like horror night shows.

Lady Sapphy

As expected, this place is obviously good. There is plenty of space to park, attractions are very neat and of course the magic of universal studios is still there. The only problem is the majority of the rides there are virtual rides (they take place in something that barely moves at all, but has a screen and the seats change to give the illusion it is). As great as it sounds it tends to get old fast, and the early time they close in doesnt help

mahmood z

I came all the way from Arizona for the full experience, I completely understand it was summer time and it was totally busy, but there wasn't enough services to provide for the customers. Not enough restrooms and not to mention they were really dirty. The employees were mediocre to say the least some were really nice and decided to help us in finding what we needed, but the majority would just ignore us and keep walking. The good thing about it was the Harry Potter world it was wonderful just like I expected, but the park as a whole needs some work for it to be enjoyable.

Linda Panchea

We came here with friends for our daughter birthday. It was fun, we enjoyed our time and will definitely be back. Go visit, I promise you won't regret!

Ksenia Islamova

One of the thing you must visit in LA! Better to buy annual pass (almost the same price) because one day will be not enough for all the attractions

Sophie Alana

Very fun! Amazing rides and great memories! However, the lines were very long and sometimes we waited two hours for a two minute ride. It is VERY expensive and a water costs four dollars at least. But all in all my friends and I had a lot of fun shopping and going on the rides, would go again!

Steven Mendoza

No wait like last time over 3 hours At Harry's Potter then couldn't do the ride, 3 clicks!. Better this year then 2 years ago. Good food an my family loves the animal show Go Franky an Marilyn

Quickters

The wait times are long, but it was worth it. Each ride was unique and spectacular. The tram ride was fun and never boring--you get to be the audience of the 360 shows, in which it almost feels like if you're in it! GOOD JOB HOLLYWOOD. I would come back here

Deja Gonzales-Schulz

One word... Minions! I loved this attraction! The Transformer ride is awesome but unfortunately the Jurassic Park was under construction. Great interactive place, felt like we were apart of every attraction! Get lost in the world of fun

Tatiana Mashkova

I’ve been to Universal studios in Orlando, but the one in Orlando does not have a studio tour ride. That was one of the best parts of LA universal studios experience. We were lucky as we went to the studios in March on a week day. No issues with lineups at all! We in fact never needed a fast pass and went for every single ride and show.

Monicca Winters

Universal Studios is definitely a cool theme park. There are a ton of special effects and Harry Potter World feels just like stepping into the movie. I also love the atmosphere. My only complaint is that most of these rides are screen-based, which can incite motion sickness. I feel that the rides become a bit repetitive, and they should add some more unique roller coaster type rides to offer more of a variety.

Josh Greenberg

To me, this is the key attraction of not just LA, but California! Perfect place for family outing. This place will bring the long-lost child in you. Good place to take your kids. There are plenty of rides for you to try. This will be worth your time and money. Amazing experience!

Yuklin Wong

It's great, fun, exciting, & more!!! I'm a fan, & proud employee. Come visit, & see for yourselves guys. If you've never been here before, you will have a blast! One of my all-time favorite, is our 'world-famous Studio Tour'. It's about an hour jam-packed with fun, & excitement, & 3-D technology that'll knock your socks off. Wait til you see it! Hurry guys! What are you guys waiting for? Let's all have some fun! See you guys soon.

NATALIE JOHNIE

Let me start off by saying that I enjoy theme parks even more that my 13 year old. Universal and Disney are 2 of my favorite places. We always go to the locations in Florida and this was my first time visiting the LA location. The weather was perfect, we go to go on most of the rides and all of the food we tried was good. Would definitely visit again!

chrmd 03

Park was okay. It didn't live up to standards. We had standard tickets and I understand this is Universal and not Disneyland, but I wouldn't visit again. I'm a huge HP fan and most of my time was spent there when not waiting in lines. There needs to be a better program for service here. Food lines had a major hold up because everyone was ordering the same thing. But that should've been expected. Where's the contingency? Otherwise it was a memorable visit.

John O'Connell

What a fantastic place, paid the extra money for the VIP tour. Its been 25 + years since I've been here and its completely different. Its worth every penny for all the costs involved.

Kameron Barkle

Pretty fun place. The Harry Potter world is cool. The Mummy ride is great. Although I'm subtracting 1 star because of how insanely expensive everything is, from the admission ticket to the $50 wands to the way-overpriced food. They seriously gouge you with how expensive it all is. I'm also subtracting another star because they keep advertising the new Jurassic World ride for summer 2019 but when I went there in mid summer 2019 the ride wasn't even open yet!!! That was one of the most iconic rides in the whole park and now I won't even get to experience it unless I pay another $120 + parking fees to go again! It's ridiculous! And is Universal Studios willing to compensate anyone at all for not being able to go on that ride despite paying the full admission price? No, they are not. They still expect you to pay the full price even though they advertise a major ride that isn't even open yet!! If they really cared about customer satisfaction they would offer a discount on the admission ticket for having a major part of their park closed.

James Carter

So much fun! The place is expanding as well. Just added a New Jurassic Park ride that was awesome. Kids and grown-folk alike will enjoy themselves here.

mike evanchow

Insanely long wait times (up to 3 hrs). Not worth it unless you get an express pass (up to $120+ extra per ticket). Rides are just alright. Nothing even anything close to like the Universal in Orlando. Honestly less than half the amount of rides/attractions than Orlando. Definitely something to see if you've done all the other attractions throughout L.A., but prices and wait times definitely affect the experience negatively .

Julian Pereira

Lots of fun. Could do this all in one day if you are fast and the line ups are not too long. Check to make sure there are no special events happening in the evening as they cost extra. Simpson's ride and Harry Potter ride are really great. Merchandise is pricey. Studio tor ride also very cool.

Manuel Aceves

Went to Horror nights and had a great experience. Mazes were fun and costumes were scary. Loved the Ghostbusters maze but wish they had the Hogwarts section open

Henry Edvard

I liked this place very much. I was in Universal Studios Orlando before this park and they are completely different. If you want a lot of cool rides go in Orlando. Here is only few rides like Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey or the Mummy. There is also no Hogwarts Express train in Hollywood (in Orlando it connects parts of the park). Nikki .C Anthony-Reed-Wesley

Wow go great place from open to close. Fast pass is a must during weekends . Monday the park was full. . Tuesday not as crowded. I look forward to going every other year. NEW ATTRACTIONS!!!!.THERE ALWAYS BUILDING NEW STUFF.

Debbie Weatherhead

Loved it! Really great shows and rides. You must check out Water world - awesome. Some of the queues are a bit daunting, we passed on waiting 150 minutes for Jurassic ride. The split levels are a treat offering you amazing views of Hollywood. Lots of cool spray areas to help cool off. Staff were friendly and helpful. Be prepared to queue for everything and use the shows timing boards to help you get around the park because as one show finishes you can usually walk straight to another starting.

Kenda Bouhaben

Plan you trip well in advance. The upgrade to express tickets was so worth the money. It was a dream come true. The park staff was so helpful, restrooms always clean, and priced for a family. I really could go on and on about how wonderful this park is, but I think I will just return again.

Maria Cuadrado

Great experience overall. The only thing I will say is that on day one of our visit my youngest was allowed to ride most of the rides. Day two however, she was denied from the same ones she already went on. They have to get better at measuring the kids. All need to be on the same page.

MySonsMyWorld Proud Mom

My sons been here plenty of times b4 but I've never gone. I FINALLY had my 1st visit this year, I'm a Disneyland baby been over 120 times

May Visor

The park is amazing!!! The only reason why I don't give them five stars is because they don't have much for little ones. Only the minion are and there are two rides only.

Noel Junio

The lines are given due to the fact that people were coming for all the fun & enjoyment the theme park has but there's one thing that is concerning about the beverage price on Harry Potter's place on the theme park, when I approached & bought the water, for a small 16oz. sold it for $6.00 & when I paid it & ask if I can have a colder one which I know there is underneath coz I saw them just pack some more water on top the guy rudely told me that I cannot choose after I just paid six times they Jack the price for 1 small bottle to drink under the heat of the sun while waiting in line for almost an hour with my family to get in to the show/rides.

jon jon

Better than what I expected!I highly recommend these steps 1st...1st $50 front parking and getting to that park when it opens. Step 2 pay for your tickets online and have the digital ready the day you go.it will help to go in faster and also the left and right archways will be for digital tickets to scan.dont wait in the center with printed tickets.the lines are 9x longer and slower...avoid this method.3rd do the studio tour 1st..get that out the way.and from there your free to do whatever you want...rides will get long but in the 1st 2 hours of your arrival you can zip through your choice of rides and take it easy...I guarantee this method...

Megan Berg

I love Universal! I love the movies and the way this place makes me feel. My only complaint is too many rides are 3D. That does not bode well for someone with motion sickness. Also Jurassic park was better than Jurassic world. Highly recommended! I have an annual pass!!

Gilberto Ramirez

It's a fun park there are many things to see, what some of the rides they take too long to get to them and the front of the line pass this way too expensive. If you happen to see it being somewhere that is not the front or in the middle that means of the back, you would not get to enjoy the show as much this is for the tour, it's a fun place is clean all the games are working but fortunately there's a lot of places where you can get some AC and cool down, overall is a great experience

Satish Reddy

Loved it.. Of all the rides , my 7 yr old kid liked 1. Dinosaur Tour 2. City Tour with the Dinosaur Play Simulation and Fast &Furious 3. Harry Potter Ride 4. Cars Ride 5. Guardians of the Galaxy 5. Goofy the Sky. Planning with the ride schedule is a must to save time and keep up the pace...

Kathryne Duckwitz

If you are a fan of television and movies, Universal Studios does have a lot to offer. The Harry Potter world and Jurrassic World are especially elaborate. However, I personally felt that waiting several hours for rides that generally lasted well under 6 minutes was a little less enjoyable than say going to Disneyland, which tends to have better fast pass options and longer rides

Mike Picot

It’s my favorite theme park! Water world attraction is a must! If you are doing rides get express because the lines get ridiculous! The Mummy and Jurassic World are fun. Hogwarts and butter beer are a personal fave. They keep hiking up the price tho :( The Simpson’s are a great nostalgia and lastly the Universal Studio Tour should be the Finale and a must ride as well for the King Kong 3-D!

Imagine Dolan 847

So much fun here. Got a good scare from the mazes and I would definitely want to come back and recommend it to my friends. They have great food, great mazes and great rides.

Dena Lynn

Had an amazing time. The VIP Experience is definitely worth the cost. Our studio guide, Oscar, was awesome! So much fun!

H Gray

We had such fun! Celebrated a birthday and every tour operator said happy birthday to the child. Made the kid feel extra special!

Hannes Zerner

Even though I personally prefer the Orlando one, Universal Hollywood is pretty fun too. It's mostly simulation rides. However I love the studio tour as well as the Jurassic World ride

Arnt Ivar Nilsen

This is a really cool place for everyone. I would definetly recommend universal studios to others. The negative part would be all the people in lines.. Takes some time to try the attractions. But that is what to expect from a park like this. I've been here two times and I had a blast. You can also buy a lot of cool stuff in their stores.

Basket 101

This Jurassic drive is very good and fun it’s only 5 minutes but enjoyed. Aye for get in this ride is at least 1 hour. If you can get in the park at 8 am you will not stand in queue for long time . First take Jurassic ride then take bus tour then animal show you won’t be disappointed

Chris Furtado

Great park. The rides are awesome, really well done. The lines can get really long 3-4 hr wait for Jurassic world, the Express pass is worth the money, we were right up on every ride in minutes. If there were more rides id give it 5 stars

Stokes Music Studios

Amazing treasures of famous movies and more live here! It's packed full of fun for all ages! The kids will enjoy seeing places and things from movies! Really neat scenery and attractions! Great places to eat too!

Joel English

The happiest place on Earth! :D everyone is so friendly, the staff pump you up for rides, and celebrate when you're done! There are new areas coming, which is exciting. The new Jurassic World ride has added on to the classic of the Jurassic Park ride, keeping the classic parts with it! Outstanding environment, with plenty of cool down spots that you wouldn't find at other theme parks.

Frenite

Wonderful park! I love this place. Great rides, nice environment, and friendly staff. Fun for all ages!

Nicola Signal

Everything was fantastic. We did the VIP tour and Donna was awesome. The rides were great. Seeing all the stuff on the back lot was fantastic. The breakfast and lunch were amazing. Only one negative on day was getting milkshakes from one of the shops. Had a 60's theme. They had no one else to serve, yet thought it was ok to stand talking for several minutes before very very slowly getting the drinks done. Without a doubt some of the worst service I've ever seen.

Nitya Iyer

Super fun . I would suggest to have express pass than general ones . This really helped me. I hardly waited around 5 minutes average to do rides . Due to this I could cover every possible ride . Don't miss butter beer on Harry Potter. Also don't miss night lighting show at Hogwarts, it's nice . They have special shows which I really liked : special effect show and waterworld show . I would say never miss on Earth if you find these two on your visit .
