This Park is included in the category of National park.
So amazing, thought I was in star wars walking on the moon of Endor through those trees and ferns. Something mutes the sound so it has a deep silence when cars are driving by.
The avenue of Giants is awesome! Please remember it is for slow drivers. There are also hikers... watch out..
Beautiful place, miles along rte 101. So peaceful
It's the best helping to protect our park system
Love this place!!so many hikes and walking in forest is amazing!
Beautiful. So much to see we stayed an extra day!
Just positively overwhelming. It makes you appreciate everything good about nature.
What a great place to camp. So majestic and peaceful.
Amazing to see these big trees. Nature is just beautiful!
I hope one day i could spend my holiday with my family in here. climb and explore every path
I always enjoy the drive through the towering redwood trees. I love the redwoods.
Beautiful state park! Overall the rest areas and the general park was clean. It is truly an amazing sight to see the redwoods and to learn the history as you travel through the park. It’s totally worth the visit!!
One of the most amazing places on earth! In the "old" growth parts of the forest, some of the trees are 3000 years old! It boggles the mind! You risk getting a crick in you neck looking up to the extraordinary heights these trees attain! Walking on some of the trails just brings so much tranquility and peace being surrounded by so much natural beauty! This should be on everyone's "bucket" list!
Great place to visit! Family friendly too. Plenty of trails and hiking. About a half a day activity
The Redwoods are a must see in the United States. Simply beautiful and awe inspiring.
So regal. The majesty of the trees is unparalleled. I went to the Lady Bird Johnson Grove and it was well worth the trip. The trails are easy to follow and super well maintained. Don't miss this experience!
Wonderful trails, trees, and ocean views.
There's an almost magical quality to these forests which cannot be articulated rather must be experienced to be understood and appreciated. Visit these beautiful groves and let nature leave a mark on you. Of all the national parks on this 7,000 mile adventure, this has been the least crowded and most moving. Love the earth.
The James Irving trail is highly recommended, a 4.6 miles hiking in redwood trees, you will see creek, canyon, pacific ocean, very rewarding
Trees of Mystery is wonderful! The trail is 3 to 4 feet wide and mostly smooth with pea gravel the whole way. My six- and seven-year-olds had a great time looking at the different trees, reading the signs, pushing the buttons (to play audio stories), and then running ahead to the next point of interest. The day we visited was busy (full parking lot), so we had to wait about 20 minutes for the sky tram. FYI, riders are expected to exit the sky tram at the top (there is an observation deck), which want part of our plan because we were crunched for time, but we exited anyway because others were waiting to go back. The wait at the top of the mountain was another 20 minutes on this busy day. One brave lady was pushing her toddler up the trail. She did okay, but strollers with small wheels would be hard to push through the gravel. The trail back down (after the Sky Tram) is different and is just as interesting as the trail on the way up, but with large carvings and more stories. The trail leads directly back to the gift shop and candy/fudge/ice cream counter. We explored the gift shop, then visited the museum at the far end of the gift shop. Very informative! Also, the lady in the ticket booth said that the only bathrooms are at the Forest Cafe across the street, at the end of the first trail 0.8 miles up the mountain, and at the top observation deck. TIP: If anyone remotely has to go to the bathroom, take the time to go across the street to Forest Cafe! The 0.8 miles up the trail is a long way to go when people want to stop and take pictures every 30 feet. We spent 2.5 hours here, and my children didn't want to leave. They wanted to go back up to the Sky Tram for a second ride!
This park is so expansive and there is just so much to see. If you drive South on the 101, you'll drive through lots of redwoods but there are also lots of cool hikes and trails scattered all over the place. Do your research to see what you want to do before you go!
Such a beautiful place to go love it here
Beautiful trails and great big red wood trees. Park Rangers are very nice and helpful.
A great place to fulfill your Wanderlust desire. many trails and picnic area's. Beautiful landscape
The trees were absolutely amazing. If you drive past, do stop and take in the beauty of the giant trees. The park is free. My only critique is that everywhere looks very similar. There is no standout in the park
Fantastic hikes through the mighty redwood forest. Love the hikes and seeing these giants
This place is amazing! You never image the experience when you just stand under the giant trees, they are thousands of years and telling the history of this land. Definitely you can just think it is Titans meeting by viewing some pics
A very magical place!!! I will be coming back next year to do more stuff. Just amazing!!!
It's about a 5 hour drive from San Jose, but is sooo worth it!! So peaceful, the redwoods, the ocean the drive... A perfect road trip for a three day weekend
The trees are awe-inspiring. The elk are plentiful and easy to ser. Beautiful views and quiet beach (Crescent Beach). Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time at Redwoods.
Amazing place, trees are very impressive, very peaceful. A favorite state park that is a must see.
A very scenic place. There are so many trails for hiking and exploring. One can definitely spend a few hours exploring. Nothing compares to these trees.
Spectacular and awe inspiring. So lucky we still have them.
There is something to be said for these gigantic trees but the feeling you get standing next to one is another story. Camping and hanging out in the forest is just downright soothing, relaxing, and makes you feel very small. Humbling. Check It & Enjoy!
Great trail to explore if you have children. My family had a wonderful time.
Nice place, well maintained. Saw a bear near the WW2 radio center memorial walking on the unpaved road, probably more in the area.
I enjoyed every second I was in the park. Wish that I had more time so explore and hike these majestic trees. Will have to come back soon in the future to camp for a week or two.
One of my favorite parks- a must see! Do not miss this opportunity
Amazing park! Totally worth the visit to see these beautiful giants. Plenty of great hikes and drives in the area.
What else can be said about a visit to the Redwoods National and State Parks in California? It is definitely a must-do, especially since you will get a chance to experience and explore the largest trees on earth. Walking through the groves of trees there is the extreme sound of silence. And it makes you almost think of Jurassic times. Seeing the roots of these trees is just as impressive. They form elaborate patterns and shapes and can form unique shapes that you can show your face through (see photo)! It is hard to imagine the size of many of these trees until you see them in person. And even then, they can only be put into perspective when either a person or even a vehicle is placed next to one. The picture with our car in it is taken in front of a single tree (Cal Barrel Trail). That is the massive size of its trunk. Unreal! DOG OWNERS: I POSTED A PICTURE OF THE PARK RANGER APPROVED TRAILS THAT YOU CAN TAKE YOUR FURRY FAMILY ON. We did Cal Barrel trail and it was phenomenal! P.S. The Rangers are so friendly and amazing!
I had no idea how huge and immense the park is. Amazing trees that you can only imagine until you see them up close. One of my favorite parks with anything you can possibly do.
So beautiful. The trees and landscape are breathtaking night or day. Bluffs right against the beach, canyons a walk inland and elk everywhere.
This is least visited park but it is one of the most important parks. Coast Redwoods are beautiful and huge trees with lots of history. Many scenic drives and easy hikes. Some drive needs 4 wheel drive car. There is no food plaza inside the park. Couple of elk viewing area. Activities for all ages.
The cool, quiet, redwood spires are always peaceful and awe-inspiring! The black ribbons that wind through them are best experienced on a motorcycle that magnifies every sense! Do not rush through - stop, explore and be amazed by their immense heights and widths and the wisps of fog that quench their thirst.
Absolutely stunning opportunity to be in the midst of the tallest living beings on the planet! Groves of old growth 1,000-1,500 year old Coastal Redwoods can grow to over 350' tall. Their majesty and immensity is simply beyond words.
Beautiful. Truly breathtaking. So fortunate I get to live so close to these amazing parks
Spend a whole day there andcould have easily spent two more, beautiful place that souldnt be missed for anyone in their lifetime, Its one of those special places that help you remember you.
This park is amazing! Beaches that are beautiful and trails with massive, amazing trees. It has been gorgeous rain or cloudy. We come back regularly and love it every time.
We used Crescent City as a base to explore the Jedidiah State park section of these giants. So many trails to walk or bike through to view them, our focus was on Stout Grove, a very impressive stand of huge trees. In addition there were some very impressive views of the ocean, on trails along the shore.
Beautiful and amazing. If you appreciate what it took for these Redwoods to get this big, then you will be awed by this place. Take a day to casually drive the Redwood hwy. There are many places to stop have a picnic, go for a hike or even swim in the Eel River. To really take it all in, you'll need 2 days. If you're a hiker, take a week.
This park is amazing! Beaches that are beautiful and trails with massive, amazing trees. It has been gorgeous rain or cloudy. We come back regularly and love it every time.
It's so majestic the giant redwood forest and the wild life
Absolutely beautiful. By far one of the most breathtaking hikes I've been on. The trails are mostly kept up and there is very little if any garbage around. Obviously, some of the trails will have less maintenance as they're quite ling so be wary of the specific trail that you're planning on visiting. Overall amazing hiking experiences wherever you go!
Stunning and if you take 2 steps off the road and into the woods, the quiet is amazing.
Fresh air. Many big trees. And beautiful beach. You can enjoy the forest and beach.
Everything we wanted and more! Everyone at the visitors centers were super helpful and informative, I would strongly suggest stopping into all of them.
. Truly enjoyed the peaceful beauty of the Redwoods on my Birthday. I spent this birthday enjoying my Family and driving my Dodge Caravan to Oregon with 3 of my Dear Family Members. We truly enjoy Gods beautiful Scenery He has blessed us with. Thank You God! We pray this area never burns like so many others. God please protect the World you have blessed us with!!
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. We camped on the beach nearby. What an experience. I took pictures of the trees, but it doesn't do justice. You just have to stand there and enjoy its beauty and grandness.
Loved these majestic trees and beautiful forests. If you're driving by but don't have time to spend the whole day, at least take the Avenue of the Giants. It runs parallel to 101 for about 30 miles and has an auto tour pamphlet available at either end.
Very cool place but hars to visit cause you can't really stay on the park it's nothing like Yosemite. However a must see place. Maybe the prettiest spot on the Pacific coast.
Love the redwoods, fog & ocean all wrapped up in one package. When the elk are there it's nice too.
Wow Wow Wow. What a gem. So needed more time to stay here and enjoy one of the US best spots
Huge trees but there was very little parking which translates into fewer people. I think it is about the environment and not the people this is one of the few places on the planet that I see the trees get the right of way over cars.
A great place to fulfill your Wanderlust desire. many trails and picnic area's. Beautiful landscape
Absolutely gorgeous!! Dogs can't go on main trails, but there are smaller trails that allow dogs. Just make sure to clean up after them! Weather is crisp, so make sure to take a sweat shirt or light jacket.
Beautiful trees of course. Park is laid out well, giving a feeling of leaving civilization way behind.
Amazing park! Totally worth the visit to see these beautiful giants. Plenty of great hikes and drives in the area.
Family of four hiked the Prairie Creek and Foothill trails within 4 hours. Good tree cover with several areas to stop and dip your feet into the water. Well trodden trails, but signs are confusing. Make sure you clearly understand how to return to the Visitor Center. Weather was perfect for hiking in shorts and T-shirts in late July.
Beautiful! Pro tip for all you through hikers and bikers: CA state parks have hike and bike rates of $5-10 per night per person. Just make sure the campground says it's hike/bike!
Every day 1000’s of travelers pass right through this forest on 101 the frontage road is right off the interstate the experience is well worth taking an exit and let the pace slow down and enjoy these mammoth trees! These babies make the Muir Woods look small.
Great experience, but lots of road closures.
Lovely park and forest. Plenty of space to be to yourself and lots of trails. The Sequoia are amazing.
If you appreciate what it took for these Redwoods to get this big, then you will be awed by this place. Take a day to casually drive the Redwood hwy. There are many places to stop have a picnic, go for a hike or even swim in the Eel River. To really take it all in, you'll need 2 days.
Serene atmosphere walking with the Giants of nature. Ocean breeze, the smell of wildflowers, the Glory of rhododendron in bloom. This place is a treasure and should not be missed.
Each Park is so much different than the previous just like all the beaches up and down the coastline everyone is drastically different. They're amazing!
I took so many pictures of these beautiful giants. This place is peaceful and for me helped put things in perspective. I'm not a spiritual person, but this place is special.
I've wanted to see giant redwood trees for a long time. It started when I was a kid, I saw this book at a library, it had full page size photos. There were beautiful, majestic, and giant redwood trees, hundreds of years old. This place has to be a small paradise, abound with spiritual energies from all the past generations it has witnessed. Enough of that, it's on my bucket list. I've been to many national parks and such, but I can't explain why I feel so drawn to the great redwood forest?
So quiet. So nice. Well maintained
The redwoods are absolutely breathtaking! If you are planning a trip to CA, I would highly recommend that you add them to your list!
Redwood. Amazing. Went on Sunday. And traffic was not that bad. Highway 101 is amazing
The most amazing camping and adventure experience of a lifetime. There is something to be said for these gigantic trees but the feeling you get standing next to one is another story. Camping and hanging out in the forest is just downright soothing, relaxing, and makes you feel very small. Humbling. Check It & Enjoy!
One of the greatest forest settings I've ever been apart of. Spectacular. Must see. Very proud of our for Father's in an attempt to set parts of of our country aside for future generations to see and experience
Other than the drive on the Drury parkway we only walked the Lady Bird Johnson Grove. I'm glad we did the walk. Trees are very impressive. Definitely worth it.
It's so hard to put into words the magestic beauty of the trees. It's peaceful and can and tranquil. There's something about it that just renews you. We're all always so busy with work and kids and life, so taking a few days to just relax was absolutely the reset button we needed. The trees are not only beautiful but the smell
Overwhelming to hike between all these old trees. The water of Redwood Creek is completely clear and nice to dip fleets into. We got our permit to drive down to the Tall Trees Trail at Kucher Visitor Center at the same morning.
Wow... If you have never been up close and personal with redwoods, this is a place to change all that. Amazing trails through the forest where you can really see the enormity of these giants.
One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen! A must see before you die! More than 5 star rating should be available.
Trail from visitors center to beach via Fern Canyon (~15 km) easily in my top 3 best hikes in US.
Lady Bird Johnson Trail is pretty easy and gorgeous the whole way!
Cool park that is quite separated so you have to drive a good distance to get to the hikes and attractions. It was a fun adventure.
Nickel Creek campground was the most amazing free campground. Gorgeous area. I love Redwood NP!
The redwoods are absolutely breathtaking! If you are planning a trip to CA, I would highly recommend that you add them to your list!
This is a beautiful place to see. The drive is steep and narrow. Bring along boots to make it through the creek. You'll see ferns growing everywhere.
So incredibly beautiful god does amazing work with his paint brush.
A very scenic place. There are so many trails for hiking and exploring. One can definitely spend a few hours exploring. Nothing compares to these trees.
There are so many little pull-off spots which lead to amazing trails. Avoid the more well-known touristy spots. They're way too crowded.
Super cool. We loved visiting. Drive slow, pull over a lot and enjoy. Take lots of pictures.
you have to stop at the redwoods national Park if your driving through northern California. It really is a breathtaking View of our giant trees. Depending on the time of day you go will depend if you see mist or light lacing through the trees which is magical to see. There's no way your camera will be able to capture how magnificent the views are but it's still worth trying. Don't forget to hug a tree.
Awesome natural wonder. Clean rivers. Huge tree
super cool are family loved it very nice hikes. want to go back to it agin.
Not sure how you could give this place anything other than a 5 star review. Such an incredible experience that I'll never forget.
If you're driving by but don't have time to spend the whole day, at least take the Avenue of the Giants. It runs parallel to 101 for about 30 miles and has an auto tour pamphlet available at either end.
My gosh I would go again and again and again and... this place is so old almost a primordial feel... huge roots come up out of the ground as thick as a man's waist!
I wish I had had more time here. Lots of nice hike and picnic spots. Time in the redwoods quiets the soul.
One of my favorite places in the world.
would recommend. the trail we went on wasn’t that long and it led to a beautiful waterfall and a bridge. the trees were ginormous and were unique. lots of pictures, lots of fun.
Super friendly people here!! Driving Thu from Arizona. Lidiapetunia@youtube
We loved this park! My son completed the Junior Ranger Program here which I highly recommend! He learned so much from it and has great pride from the program. The rangers are very kind and helpful. They love getting to know and help the kids. We also LOVED seeing the giant trees! We took a few hikes and marveled at their greatness.
Great place to visit, excellent drive, and a relaxing atmosphere! Highly recommended. There are many of the Redwoods parks which are free. The guides at the visitors center are super nice and helpful!
Best time and right in our backyard. Definitely coming back.
Awesome! You can imagine the dinosaurs living among trees like these. Trails could be labeled better.
This park is amazing. Everyone should visit it at least once.
Breath taking. Amazing. Highly recommend
If you want to spend some time surrounded by nature and tall and beautiful trees, this is a perfect place for you. Perfect gateway for weekends! The view of the place is simply amazing!
Beautiful and largely untouched nature. The trees are gigantic, pictures really don't do them justice. One of the USA's natural highlights and definitely worth a visit.
It's been 39 years since my parents drove from New Orleans Louisiana to the Redwood Forest I am happy to bring my children through here so they can have the memories I hold dear to my heart.
By far the best hiking experience and also swimming in the river. This place is so mystical. The beauty of nature here is breathtaking. It looked like the setting of the movie Avitar. We flew to Seattle from Texas and drove to the Redwood Forest. The drive itself was breathtaking. I can't believe it took me this long to visit here. You will love it!
There are no words, you just have to experience it for yourself! Awesome beauty.
The Redwood National and State Parks are amazing! The parks are a wonderful place to get out and take in nature. The redwood trees truly are a wonder and it is not possible to get their full effect unless you get to witness them in person. There is also the possibility in this park to drive through a tree! Take the time to visit this park and soak in the wonders of these amazing forests.
Always a beautiful place. One of many parks in Humboldt
Loved this place. So magical...
Redwood forests are nature at its best. Quiet majesty is what comes to mind. My mind gets calm and quiet when walking amongst these giants and I can almost forget about how we're destroying our beautiful world.
One of the most beautiful places on the planet! If you haven't gone you need to go! People come from all over just to come where we live! So peaceful! Love it!
We did James Irvine, Miners Ridge and Fern Valley just over 12 miles. Very beautiful place.
Mind-blowing how the place formed. The park rangers do a great job of educating the visitors. The RV park has only a few spots with electric hookups so come early because these are first come first served.
Great hikes. Was fun to see the Roosevelt Elk.
An absolute must see. One of the most impressive forests on this planet. A park worth preserving.
A great place to fulfill your Wanderlust desire. many trails and picnic area's. Beautiful landscape
Beautiful place to escape the daily grind. Great hiking and biking trails and the beach is so close!
Beautiful! You cannot imagine the height of these gorgeous trees until you see them in person. Absolutely breathtaking!
I think this place is underrated, GO TO THIS PLACE if you ever have a chance. It’s a relatively small national park, but the coast redwoods are amazing. It’s totally different seeing it from picture than in person. You can never imagine how tall they are. There’re also some amazing trails you could try and driving through the park is just a next level enjoyment, you’ll want to stop every few seconds to check out everything and take pictures. Most importantly, their is no admission so you can drive through the park for free
So amazing, thought I was in star wars walking on the moon of Endor through those trees and ferns. Something mutes the sound so it has a deep silence when cars are driving by. Must experience this place to understand
I finally fulfilled a lifelong dream to make it to the Redwood Forest. It didn't disappoint.
Every time I.V BEEN there and it's BEEN ATLEAST 20 years it's like going into a new WORLD...ITS AS AMAZING AS IT WAS WHEN I FIRST SAW IT. BEAUTIFUL AMAZING...GOD IS AMAZING
The "Tall Trees" trail is probably the best way to see the most impressive trees but does require about 4 hours and the ability to hike down and back up about 600 ft. of elevation change. You have to check in with and get a pass from the rangers to use the trail.
Everything we wanted and more! Everyone at the visitors centers were super helpful and informative, I would strongly suggest stopping into all of them. The park was free to drive and hike in which is great! The Big tree and Twisted Tree were amazing and must see trees. Just an outstanding trip!! The only downside was the bathrooms throughout the park (not campground or visitor centers) were gross. They were pit toilets with only natural light so pretty dark, and they were all nasty and looked to not be cleaned at all.
If you enjoy nature, this is worth seeing. The size of these trees are amazing. Pictures do not do these marvels justice.
Love it! It’s incredible place! So magic and beautiful! Everyone should visit this place at least once!
Even though Hyperion is supposedly standing somewhere in the woods, the forest services wont tell the exact location. However, there are a lot of giants here, it is worth visiting at daybreak when the heavy frosty air brings in a different kind of experience not felt during the daytime hours
What else can you say about these giants? Absolutely breath taking and beautiful. This is a must see - gain perspective of how small humans truly are in the world. Go here to humble yourself and rejuvenate ;0)
Great place to be in nature.... you can see elks a lot... lot of wildlife.... nice redwood forests.... feel good to be in nature...loved every moment of it... try to pack some food... there are no restaurants in the park.... you will spend more time than you planned and will end up hungry... there are many places to picnic.. so pack your food....
They need to do more to reach out to the public though I really wanted to go to the tree where you could drive through it
"Welcome to Jurassic Park." Amazing! Takes you right out of time and sparks your imagination as you stare at Forest Giants--some of them were saplings as Christ walked!
I drove through it on highway 101. Those gaint redwood trees are awesome. I rolled down my car windows to let fresh air come in... It smelled so good. The refreshing cool air with strong scent of redwoods blew me wide awake. Love it.
Endert's Beach is a beautiful beach to take a long stroll, let my dogs run, catch a sunset, and get a 360° view of the ocean, mountains, and lighthouse. The best beach in Crescent City for finding sand dollars. There's also picnic tables with fire pits and grills overlooking the beach.
Enjoyed it.Found it to B very interesting.Great to take kids to see also.
Loved it here. I will be making this trip bi- yearly. Can't wait till next time.
If you want to be lost in the woods, this is the national park you should go for. Most of the time, we hardly saw people even in the memorial day weekend. Multiple visiter centres and the park rangers are very polite & knowledgeable.
Beautiful Redwoods. There is a disc golf course and lots of bike trails. Lots of fun if you like Redwoods.
Can I give this an extra star? Gorgeous park. Makes you feel quite insignificant and small compared to the rest of the universe. Perfect for deflating ones ego.
It's a National Park, so of course it's a 5! This one is different, in that there's not just an entrance station, and then you're inside the park. A lot of the redwoods were protected as California state parks, and other parks, prior to the creation of the national park. So Redwood National and State Parks is exactly that, a mosaic of different parks under a unified umbrella. Make sure to include Jedediah Smith and Prairie Creek State Parks in the places you visit!
Just incredible. We saw elk and just a short walk around was like being in another world. Awe inspiring.
Beautiful road for driving. Must visit place for riders. So many stop points. So many trails. So much to explore.
Peaceful, serene and full of beauty. Great hiking trails!
Fresh berries, giant beautiful trees, great shade, elk grazing, what more can I say?
Many new young redwood trees will come and grow here.
The Parks here are unbelievable. Thick ground cover and towering redwoods give the forest an air of mystique. The trails are generally easy and the vista points are breathtaking with forest and drastic seascapes. Definitely worth a visit. There are not many facilities, so check websites to ensure you have everything you need and can plan accordingly.
Beautiful place. Go every year. Love it so much I don't really care to go home
The campground was great but you have to make reservations 48hrs in advance making it difficult to come pitch a tent for the night. Not recommended if you just want to show up and camp day of. Scenery was beautiful, hiking was great, campground reservation system sucks.
