The views are incredible, I can't believe I haven't been to this place before, it is so peaceful. It really does help you relax and ponder, well it did for me. If you are a veteran with PTSD, don't make the mistake of looking at all the pictures of all the fallen military veterans. I had to stop cause I started to choke.
I take all my out of town guests here. It's a no-brainer that this is the best view in the county. Not to mention how powerful the memorial display is, how peaceful it is to walk the labrynth of ramps among the steps leading up to the cross, and how many gorgeous hikes and biking paths break off the park. There are no bathrooms, but there are porta potties and I've never seen or smaller such clean porta potties - they keep them so well maintained! Better than beach bathrooms.
Beautiful views, a lovely place to visit on a sunny clear day!
As always a great view...An excellent microwave radio spot to operate. Just completed 10 GHz QSO wit Mt. Pitosi, NV from Mt Soledad.
Very nice peak point from which you get the best view of La Joja shores and Mission Beach and entire San Diego. Definitely worth visiting. Also you get see great houses on this mountain while driving to this place.
Loved coming here when I was younger. Great views of La Jolla from here.
Beautifully done memorial. Parking can be tough but also a nice spot for a picnic lunch. Pack your trash out though!
You have to come here for sunset. You can get a really cool 360 view of San Diego.
Breath taking views of the whole San Diego city and skyline.
Fantastic Panoramic view of the San Diego area. Also a very nice memorial to those who gave their lives for our freedoms.
Beautiful memorial. Great views. Nice place to come for the views or just a moment of silence.
There are quite a few bugs in many places, but overall this is a lovely monument.
Incredible view of most of San Diego, La Jolla, PB. Miramar. Veterans display is a true historical landmark.
Breathtaking views of San Diego from this location
Very beautiful and inspiring. Find the presidents and actors!
Great views of San Diego from all directions.
This is a beautiful place to get some fresh air and enjoy the wonderful 360° views San Diego has to offer! Its a memorial park dedicated to the veterans. This is a good place to relax, take pictures, and to have quality time with friends or loved ones. If you haven't been here please plan to do so!
Stunning view of San Diego country up and down the coast. A must see!!!!!
The only 360 view in San Diego that will impress you
Glad they got this land from the goverment and stopped the whiners from removing the cross, beautiful memorial, amazing views, a must place to visit to pay tribute to those displayed and take it all in!
Spectacular 360 degree views from this point in San Diego. On a clear day you can see Mexico to Orange County. Parking can get full at the top but the lower lot usually has free open spots. And it is just a quick walk up to the top.
Amazing views. Not very busy at all- good because there isn't much parking.
Nice memorial. Beautiful grounds. Great views. Nice benches to sit and take in the atmosphere. Worth driving up and checking out.
Get fresh air and a birdview of San Diego
Amazing views of the San Diego city at night.
It's a spiritually uplifting and deeply patriotic place standing between here and paradise.
Excellent place to get a glimpse of San Diego and the surrounding area. Be careful at the entrance its hard to see cars coming around the curve. If there is a crowd just wait a few minutes. people come and go regularly.
With a gorgeous view of the city and stunningly amazing cross, Mt. Soledad National Veteran’s Memorial has beautiful “pictures” etched in granite to which one can pay homage and respect. Sit on the steps and snap a photo, or just have some reflection time. It can get kind of touristy, but if you want to stay awhile, there is some parking up top, and benches around the perimeter.
Come here for wonderful panoramic views of San Diego County, from the Pacific ocean to the local mountains and from Mexico to Camp Pendleton and beyond.
Honoring our Veterans and with great views of Mexico, Mission Bay, La Jolla North to Carlsbad, East view of Marine Corps. Air Station Miramar. Nice bike ride.
What a beautiful part of the city, and such a remarkable memorial. I can spend hours upon hours up here and never really take everything in, so much to see. Being a memorial to our country's fallen soldiers and hope well this all was done is impressive also. Don't miss it. If you're near La Holla drive up and spend an hour.
The view from there's spectacular
360• view Spectacular breath taking. Windy.
Great view. Beautiful Memorial for those who paid the ultimate sacrifice
One of the best views in the whole county. It’s gorgeous in every direction. On clear days you can see down into Mexico. It’s a spectacular view of the ocean as well. We always take out of town visitors here. Not just for the view, but also because it helps them get their bearings. It’s easy to point out features from such a fantastic vantage point.
Great view of the area. Very nice Veteran's Memorial too.
This is a majestic place to visit. The views are stunning with 360 degree of all San Diego. Plus the memorial is beautiful to see. A must.
This place has amazing views! If you hike up it or just drive to the top it's worth the time of day to go check it out. You get to see most of La Jolla from up here. I went on a cloudy day and it still had amazing views for miles!!!! It does get busy so go early.
Great views of the city and shore, drive up here quick if you’re in la jolla
Great view of the ocean and San Diego. Take a light wrap and bring some binoculars to take in the fresh Marine air and beautiful views.
Nice memorial. Upgraded features from before. Parking sometimes a challange

A beautiful place and a must visit if you are in San Diego.
Breathtaking and inspirational place. It was an honor to spend time there remembering all those who sacrificed for the freedom to be an American.
It is clean, peaceful, and has a gorgeous view. The plaques are inspiring and humbling to read.
Beautiful place to get a view of the city during the day and night.
Best view of San Diego city on any good or bad weather day. Can see la Jolla to downtown, and quite a ways east.. better than cowles cause you have to hike up that for the view
Best view in of San Diego and an awesome tribute to our veterans.
A touching memorial site for our fallen military that comes with a breathtaking 360 degree view of the San Diego area.
Beautiful views of the city. Definitely worth the trip to visit this attraction.
Such a beautiful and peaceful place. An honor to be around all these hero's. Blessed to have been born in America as a 1st generation from hard working Mexican parents. Kids, dogs and everyone is welcome.
It was a great place to show respect for our veterans. The views were great
Pride Wells within the heart to know there are brave men and women that gave their life for you and I. Secure and protect our God-given inalienable natural rights.
The best view in la jolla
Absolutely the best La Jolla, Pacific Beach, San Diego and Pacific Ocean views you'll ever see!
It is beautifully placed up above the surrounding areas.
Wonderful place, breathtaking view and easily accessible. I wish if they had better lightening at night
Wonderful blesses place. However they need better restroom facilities.
My friends father had passed away and they had a service there. What a special place and the crew that helped with the service was great. The view is spectacular.
Love to come here and enjoy some peaceful time overlooking San Diego. At the same time it's a great place to remember what our country is about, great and courageous people that have sacrificed their lives for us protecting our country, serving for what they believe it's right. A big salute & Thank you to all our Service Members and their families!
Amazing view. Free parking
I love to come here. Whispers of thank yous!!
Spectacular place! Highly recommend for a visit or two when in San Diego.
The 360° view of San Diego, from Mt. Soledad Nat'l. Monument, on a clear day you really can see forever, lol. Absolutely breathtaking... & free, freeing...
Great views honoring our hero’s!
Beautiful! A really nice 360 degree view of San Diego and surrounding areas
A beautiful location for a military monument/tribute to all who have served our country. 360 degree views of the ocean, La Jolla, San Diego and surrounding communities.
Very well maintained. Great view of the ocean and La Jolla beach.
This place is beautiful, You can get a nice view of California.
Worth every single second. Beautiful way to remember those who served. You can see all of San Diego from here!!
Love coming up here when I am in San Diego. My Dad's plaque is here among the many.
I always enjoy going here, you could see most of all of San Diego here! It's also a place to see and learn about those we died for our freedom and country. This place will always be in top 10. It's just beautiful, somethings you can't find words to explain! This place is one of them. If your really spontaneous, take a ride around the neighborhood and check out the beautiful houses!! It's gorgeous up there, but be respectful and considerate of the locals.
Beautiful Veterans Memorial. Plaques are well done in honoring our Veterans. Awesome views of San Diego. Can get cold and windy. Take a jacket.
So Awe inspiring! The views! The names on the wall. God Bless them one and all.
Beautiful views and a touching memorial to Vets of many wats.
Stunning. Heart stopping. It hurts the heart to see so many white stones standing at attention. God bless and thank you to all who serve our country!
Beautiful tribute to US Military veterans, both living and deceased. Panoramic views of San Diego. It is privately owned by the Mt Soledad Memorial Association and is accessible for free. However, the Association maintains it and survives on donations and plaque sales. Google their website and become a donor or annual member, its tax deductible!
Beautiful landscape views of all of San Diego
Another beautiful day.. in a God respecting America in San Diego!
Great viewpoint for a majority of Sandiego by the Beach.... everyone should visit at least once.
Awesome view of San Diego, with parking, railings, benches and port-a-potty access, as well as binoculars. Only 4 stars because the benches faced brush and not the view and the facilities were dirty.
It's a nice place to hangout and look at the San Diego city while watching the sun rise and sun set. The memorial is also well designed.
Breathtaking...how many young people gave their lives for our democracy. We need to make sure yhat President Trump respects them by giving the military the money it needs to do it's jib safely.
Tons of reinlistments are done here. Amazing views.
Love this place for the views and to honor veterans. My favorite time is sunset, night time to visit here as views are just stunning with all the lights. You can almost always see the ocean and most of San Diego from here.
One of the best spots to enjoy a beautiful view and pay respects. Also, a great spot to take anyone visiting to let them experience a view of San Diego area.
Beautiful panoramic view of San Diego. This place is good to visit with family and/or friends... Lovely place to find some peace.
Great place to see a 360 view of San Diego. On clear days you can see Mexico and as far San Clemente in Orange County. Great place to ride your bike as well any good and safe roads lead to the Soledad Park and Veterans Memorial
Mt. Soledad is a great place for me to go when I want to Praise and Worship God, pay silent Honor to the men and women of our military. Or just simply sit back and reflect on life. The view can humble you as you stand on the mountaintop and look out over the ocean until it meets the sky. It's an amazing reality check for me.
Beautiful views and a beautiful memorial. Free and easy to access. Definitely worth a visit while in San Diego.
Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial is Special The ocean view to the west is lovely and soothing. Hills and mountains eastward loom hazily in the distance. This is a place to take a moment reflecting on the service and sacrifice of veterans whose memorial plaques grace the walls surrounding the centerpiece Veterans Memorial Cross. My late husband, a military veteran, proposed to me here. Feel the wind off the Pacific Ocean, treasure the beautiful memories enshrined here atop one of the highest spots in San Diego County.
I hiked up to the top and the views didn't disappoint. It was amazing to see and read about what this cross monument is all about!
Great views of San Diego and a beautiful memorial to those who served our country ❤
Great place to visit! Best views in sandiego! And a great tribute to our fallen!
This is a local site where true American heros are honored.
Beautiful views. Lovely dedication to the Veterans. It can be windy, it can be cold. If you can, read up on the names. You may find someone you know.
Inspiring views and inspiring monument. Quintessential San Diego. Highly recommended!
outstanding! - spectacular in all ways - going to linger up here for a while
Great park, people should appreciate more
Great place! The view both at night and during the day is cool!
Beautiful & breathtaking views. Terrific memorial to the Armed Services
The views are amazing at the top. What a wonderful way to honor the Vets that served our country!
Great views of the city and ocean. Also a great memorial for our fallen servicemen and women. I proposed to my wife here!
One of the most beautiful scenery place at San Diego.
Religious icons do not belong on US government property. It violates the separation of Church & State in the American Constitution.
The Mount Soledad cross is a beautiful memorial for those who sacrifice their life for this country a must-visit
It has the best aura for remembering and to honor the beauty of san diego
Great little hilltop areas with an amazing 360 veiw of la Jolla and beyond. It's a great place to watch the sunset. There is a memorial at the top with stairs and and cross. Grassy areas and some benches. There is a little bit of parking but not a ton.
Great place to see the surrounding area near La Jolla. Always a safe bet to bring visitors.
Nice place to get away for an afternoon. Lots of fresh air to be had. Always enjoy being here.
It's really a very peace d nice place to visit It's my pleasure to visit with my wife
I just love that white cross soaring above Pacific! Beautiful and dignified place!
This is THE place we take guests to when they visit San Diego because it's relatively less crowded and it gives a 360 of beautiful San Diego and honoring our Veterans. I'm always impressed by how breath taking the view is and I've been here more times than I can count. I hope this sacred land will always be here and be the Light for generations to come!
Very scenic, not that many parking spaces. But people dont stay to long. Great at sunrise or sunset.
Nice and relaxing place good views of surrounding area
I love the view and the memorial wall. So sad to have so many transmitter towers partially destroying the beauty of this place. But...with a well trained eye you can take some photos without them ruining the shots.

Great place! A must visit in San Diego
AWESOME memorial and recognition of our heroes. What an AWESOME 360 degree view of the area! And I would be remiss if I didn't mention the devoted service of the gentleman cleaning the memorial! SALUTE!
This is a great place to get a great view of the city, an overall take a moment to slow down and take a moment to appreciate the sacrifices many men made. It's a great place to picnic and there's some places to hike as well.
The cool air coming from the shores of La Jolla makes mount Soledad a cool place to visit. It gives you a 360 view of San Diego. Great place to take photos although nothing much can be done here. It is still a great place to visit to honor our fallen veterans.
Walking around and viewing all the memorials of the Brave Men and Women who Served Our Country❤
Awesome 360 views of san diego and the ocean! And a place to pay tribute to veterans. Free to visit
It gives a good sense of heroics these service men and women gave for our country.
There was a long legal fight for this cross. Because this land is now in private ownership the cross stays. Underneath are hundreds of photos of military family members who honorably served this country. Some , you have to find them, are also famous. Jimmy Stewart, Audie Murphy, Eisenhower. The view of the Pacific Ocean, Mission Bay, are fantastic.
A beautiful privately funded park overlooking the Pacific Ocean. A quiet place to reflect on the sacrifice that has kept us free.
Beautiful monument to veterans of all wars. Very impressive. Also the most beautiful scenery overlook of San Diego you will ever see. Very tranquil and moving experience!
Very serene and honorable place. Great views and pleasing.
Best sights of all San Diego, America's finest city
One of my favorite spots in San Diego to catch some beach views.
Great place to visit. Love the view and I really appreciate all the plaques dedicated to those who served.
Spectacular view. Parking lot fills up fast before sunset.
Nice place to sit and remember all the loved ones that fought for our country
Beautiful views and a great memorial location.
I live in San Diego and everyone who comes to visit, I always bring them here. Today, I wanted to catch the sunrise and pay homage to those who served... it was incredible. This place is one of the jewels of San Diego.
if you ever came down to La Jolla area in San Diego make sure you stop by and visit this beautiful Veterans Memorial. It located high up on the hill, surrounded by the residential areas, you could see the beauty of this place. In front of you, there is the shoreline that runs north to La, right behind you the mountain and houses. This memorial was established on Dec 6, 2000, by privately own. The pictures of the American heroes from WW1 to Vietnam war were all placed on the walls at this place. You could also be yourself to enjoy the views or just be curious it’s ok too. Just come by and see also the UCSD was a couple of miles away.
Really gorgeous views here, both night and day. I like to take out-of-town visitors here to show them a panoramic view of this beautiful city. It's also a great place for those who are interested in Korean War history or find war memorials intriguing. Take a picnic, take a jacket to ward off the cool breeze, and take in the views.
The most beautiful view in the area and love the war memorial. Enjoyed visiting this beautiful place where my husband proposed to me 24 years ago.
Beautiful views in a quiet and serene setting. A very interesting place. Learned a lot of history by reading a lot of the plaques.
absolutely love this place. It is by far the most beautiful view in San Diego in my opinion and better yet its free and you get a little history lesson while you are at it. A perfect spot to take some killer photos are even propose to your future wife or husband. Heck maybe even have a picnic. If you haven't been here this is a must go place for at least once in your life.
This place is truly amazing...you get a 365 degree view of San Diego.
Inspiring....amazing views too!
Hard to get around if in a wheelchair or using a Walker or cane. Beautiful views! Magnificent ocean and beaches with human habitation everywhere! Non-Christians need look out over the great views afforded and ignore the Christian symbol intended (by it's erectors) to dominate the region not honor the dead.
Nice place for a view of sunset..
A tribute to all veterans. From the very top is a great scenic view of San Diego to the South and La Jolla to the North from 800 feet, though pavement not always level. There is, however, a ramp for access to the memorial by our senior and disabled veterans.
Go to see amazing views of San Diego!
Great place for a hike to the very top. Nice views of the shore.
5 star views, and would give more if I could. San Diego to the south, La Jolla just down below, UCSD to the north and everything else nearly perfectly visible from the top. Go on a clear day and you'll be greatly rewarded. Gets 4 stars because quite busy with foot traffic and photographers, also value nature in this moment more than veterans of prior ones and much more than monuments to an obsolete religion
They now have a war memorial of veterans.. To add to a already beautiful view
Beautiful park. All of San Diego is visible. The view is really great.
Very clean and organized Monument celebrating the lives and sacrifices of many generations of soldiers from all different military branches.
Great place to visit beautiful site to honor our men and women who have served and our serving our great Nation
Beautiful views and homes in the area! Limited parking but people don't stay too long so not too hard to get a spot.
Very nice historical place. With the pictures of veterans who died in the line of duty. And very nice panoramic view of san diego city.
Possibly the best panoramic view of San Diego there is. Very cool
Beautiful scenery, amazing tributes, tear jerking visit
Really a beautiful spot and a very meaningful place to be. I'm happy to see our vets remembered here.
