You will be able to see all the feddbacks of people who buy the services of Angel Island State Park (Park) near to the state of California.
As of day the business gets a rating of 4.7 over 5 and this rating has been based on 1244 reviews.
As you can see the average score it has is practically the best, and it's based on a large number of scores, so we can say that the valuation is very credible. If people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to give reviews when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Park is included in the category of State park.
Very good place for hiking and biking, very good place ,very calm quiet atmosphere, we can take with us, bike in the ferry for going at this beautiful place. Or we can get rented bike, very good walkway or for biking, administrative building and guard house, which we have to reach, campsite is very good. Park very good . historical landmark, Angel island beautiful national park ,lovely memorable place for one day trip
People talk about the bay area and micro climates. I would describe this island as a micro escape.a short boat ride from SF piers to a warm low wind mountainous island <3. Has space for picnics and sport and swimming AND hiking!
Very nice place to like, play sports, bike, or just relax.
Definitely best views for SF.
Solo hike on a beautiful day with ur favorite toons..the best!
Beautiful place. Amazing views of the city and bridges. Definitely a must see.
Beautiful island with some great views of the city and tasty burgers!
An interesting piece of California history.
Great scenic hike, however ferries run too infrequent for me (every 3 hrs). They offer good food selection, but DEFINITELY out yourself on a schedule.
Just a beautiful place really quiet and inspiring
Be there at my mom's in about Jenny I'm not sure what the deal is with you and I will be in touch with the space you're going on here I have attached the screenshot of your butt stuff for the kids are going to be and I will get it to you about that one lol
Love this place, great place for hiking and biking
Great experience. Well organized. I only gave it 4 star because the bathrooms should be cleaner. Something I would expect after the 7th inning stretch at a ball park or an amusement park.
Easy hikes and great views if the fog clears.
The Grandkids had a great time at the beach and on the hike.
Great place for hiking. The food at the cafe was very good.
Excellent place to get away from hustle and bustle of city
An easy scenic hike just a boat ride away from San Francisco. With the ferry timing though, I'd say there are better hikes out there if you've got a car.
Love hiking here. The views are amazing!
What can I say. One of the most beautiful islands I've ever had the pleasure of seeing/visiting. Saw so many animals and so many plants. Such wonderful views and a beautiful walk
Go! Go for a whole a day! Hiking is amazing history is better. Best kept secret of SF.
We took the tour around the island. I'd like to go back and hike the trails. Lots of picnic areas with barbecues. You could make a day of it. We came because it was the only way to go to Alcatraz but I will skip the prison and come here next time. May want to bring a snack or a lunch though, the selection is limited.
Beautiful ride in a ferry to get to the island. It is so worth it! The island is so beautiful with rich history. Take the tram tour. You get to see the whole island in one hour and stops at this beautiful look out point to see the fog and view of San Francisco from an island.
Amazing place, took my team there by entering private sail boat with lunch. Team had a blast!
Lovely island and views or SF Bay area, however tram tour was a bit dull. Would recommend if spending a while in SF and not in a rush!
Great history. Poorly implemented shuttle service. The loop should be one way and the shuttles should run more frequently. Also, why in the HELL would the only place on the island to buy food or drink close an hour and a half BEFORE the last ferry off the island leaves?!? I know the employees have to get on board as well but close the grill and AT LEAST keep serving bottled water and coffee until just before the ferry gets there (not to mention the lost revenue from beer sales!!!).
A very chill ~5 mile loop to the top and back, with absolutely gorgeous views of SF Bay (at least on a sunny, clear day). Beautiful trees, too.
Fun park to visit. The last ferry back is at ~4:30 and I would recommend planning to spend at least 3 hours on the island if you want to have time to explore.
Great place to hang out and hike
Soo beautiful. Can't believe this is just a 15 min ferry ride away from the city. Tons of hiking paths and amazing views.
Nice place to go and relax
Only went here because my kid wanted to see and lean more about Angel island. I didn't think I would enjoy it. Turns out I did and I'm glad I went. Well worth it and very educational.
Beautiful island with great views of the Bay.
Beautiful view of the city from here. The ferry ride to it is great. Has a good trail with scenic and historically important spots. If you wish you can bring your bike also.
Worth a visit and surprising Chinese Ellis Island
Mooring field is super shallow at zero or minus tides. Check your tide table before visiting in a boat. Cool cafe, campgrounds with 6 month wait list. Day trips are the best.
Great views of the bay. You can bike the entire island in about an hour
Perfect spot for an afternoon trip. Great hiking, picnic spots, and iconic views of the bay and San Francisco. Bring a camera, sunscreen, and lunch!
Great place to hike and enjoy the view!
Great park in the middle of San Francisco Bay
Do yourself a favor and take a ferry to Angel Island. In my most recent visit, friends and I hiked to the top of Mt. Livermore for a picnic. The views were thrilling. I have also circumambulated the island to see the Civil War buildings and the Angel Island Immigration Station.
Took the tour as part of total package. Would love to come back for a hike or two
Awesome place to sail to! A mountain to climb too!
Beautiful and peaceful place, also good for hiking and cycling.
The ride in Ferry and the Island are super nice.
Beautiful place for a hike with a gem of sadness in the Immigration center that was full of moving stories.
EXCELLENT place. Hiked the Perimeter trail. Beautiful views. Be sure to visit the immigration building (depressing but extremely informative) and the guard house (OUTSTANDING docents). A definite must-do adventure to add to your bucket list.
Had the benefit of perfect weather during our trip which I do believe will drastically impact your experience. Learned the history of the island during the tram ride. We did a team lunch with over 50 people...was an amazing group event!
Such a great local experience. The 360 views around the island are amazing. Exploring a piece of our local history is very interesting. I suggest packing a picnic lunch and enjoying the 5 mile walk around the perimeter road and/or one of the beaches. And the ferry ride isn’t such a bad start either!
It is an interesting Island but not as popular as Alcatraz Island. The boat that takes you there is fast. But the boat trip back to the main land takes at least 45mins as they do a few stop overs before they go back to the pier.
Great views of SF and some really good hikes for all ages
Angel islands beauty has no bounds, whether you want to take in the spectacular views of San Francisco or get acquainted with nature during a picnic Angel island will provide memories that will last a life time.
Beautiful state park right in our backyard. Good amount of trails for hiking, running or biking. Great scenery and views of the bay. Campsites are really nice too (bear boxes, pit toilets and water). Just make sure to check the ferry schedule, which changes month to month and weekend to weekday.
A nice walk with a great view and history.
Definitely worth visiting! Lots of history and nature. Really a gorgeous place!
It's a very beautiful island just next to Alcatraz Island. It's very quite and peaceful with lot of trails for beautiful views. Please hike up to Mt. Livermore, the views from there will be worth it. Also there are bike rentals on the island so you can take a bike and do a perimeter of island which provides multiple viewpoints.
Great place to visit for easy hiking and some California history. The short ferry ride is quite fun too!
Beautiful. I highly recommend a loop hike either on foot or on bicycle 5 miles of spectacular scenery.
From the views to the historical landmarks, Angel Island is a national park you don't want to miss. "The Ellis Island" of the west boasts unique hiking trails alongside historical sites. This is a great place to go on a day trip!
Nice trek track. Well maintained.
From the peak at night, the lights glittering in 360 degrees around is one of the best views of the Bay Area, but you'd better book a weekend camping reservation 6 months in advance. Excellent for a day trip, complete with biking, picnicking, and beaching. Obviously, bring a jacket for the evening--it is still the Bay Area. The ferry doesn't take Clipper for this location, but you can buy tickets aboard the boat. You show your ticket before disembarking. AllTrails or Google Maps both work pretty well here.
Beautiful hiking. Wildflowers and butterflies. Decent dock though small if you have a boat. Dont miss the last ferry if you don't. Nice picnic areas
Great views from Mt. Livermore and a nice hike.
It's a beautiful place to take your family to go camping to have a barbecue to go hiking or bike riding
Shame on me, 20years in the bay and never visited such beautiful place. Now it is fixed, the hike bottom to top is Awesome and the view is simply stunning
Beautiful for hiking. But not much you can do beside hiking, and no food available
Great views of the Bay and its bridges. Very friendly, helpful rangers. Cool history and structures.
Such an amazing experience.. I can’t wait to go back beautiful in every way
Cheap and have amazing hike...
One of the best day trips for hiking I have had in the entire Bay Area. The best time to go is in the summer months when the weather is clear to experience the best views the park offers. You can get to Angel Island via ferry boat from Tiburon or San Francisco the ferry ticket covers the park entrance fee. There ia a perimeter road about 5 miles around the edge of the island and hiking trials on Mt. Livermore in the center of the island. If you take the first ferry to Angel Island and leave on the last you should be able to see everything in one day trip if you have a good pace. The views from various location on the island are great but there are 360° views of the entire Bay Area from the top of Mt. Livermore.
Wow! What a beautiful, underrated gem of San Francisco. Beautiful views and rich history with it's own microclimate and ecosystem. Seriously if you.get the chance you should check this place out.
We rode the ferry to Angel Island. The kids had a blast and the hike was amazing! We went in mid February. Everything was Green. We even saw deer and other wildlife. We will definitely be going again.
Was exhausted by the time I arrived. Wasn't wanting to do the tour because I was so tired. I can say that if you want to escape the smell of San Francisco this is a great spot.
Great place to hike or bike on the weekend. You can take a ferry out of Tiburon. The ferry allows bikes, so you can bring your own. Or you can rent bikes on the island, but it can be a little bit of a wait because a lot of people are trying to rent bikes. Go early in the morning for hiking or biking. It's also a good idea to head back early, since the later ferries can be full. Get food at the little cafe before you leave the island.
Beautiful Island. I recommend a visit if you have the time. The 1hour tram tour of the island was great, I'm just sad we did not have more time to explore on foot. The cafe is decent too.
Great tram tour that also gives the island's history
Really worth the time if you enjoy history and a scenic ride. Wish we coukd have stopped more often to see the abandoned buildings.
Lots of nice hikes and views. Excellent service from the rangers. Great day trip.
Definitely worth a visit. Be prepared to spend sometime exploring and enjoying the views. They have a little shuttle that will drive you around most of the spots but it is probably either bring a bicycle with you on the Ferry or rent one on the Island so you can explore at your own pace.
One of the best state parks to visit in the Bay Area. Pack a picnic and explore the trails and take some time to learn about the history of US immigration law, local flora and fauna, and more.
Awesome sights, a ton of interesting history, great mountain biking.
Did bikeride around galore of stunning views of the city, bay, bridges.. many places with table/benches to have picnic or just sit an enjoy scenery. Boat to Tiburon left every half hr was $15 + $1 for bike. For it being tourist season neither ferry or park was too busy. Really nice half day.
Great historical site. Beautiful views.
What can I say. The best place to see the whole Bay
We took a tram tour around the island and we were amazed at the rich history of the place. We had an excellent tour guide who was clearly so passionate about the park and added his own knowledge to the prerecorded tour playing through the trams speakers. The prerecorded tour was clearly outdated so it was great to have the ranger supplement this with his interesting stories and facts. The park itself is stunning, especially on a clear day when you have fabulous views of the San Francisco sky line and the Golden Gate Bridge. Definitely worth a visit, if you're either a tourist or a local.
The island is a lot bigger than I expected. 2 hours was not nearly enough to circumnavigate the entire island. 4-6 hours would have been more appropriate
Interesting place. Lots of history.
Took my mom here, we both loved it. Gorgeous views of the bay area from all around.
Absolutely beautiful! Would rather be there again for hiking. Phenomenal nature is absolutely mesmerizing
Exelllent historical place. Love it.
We were forced to purchase a ticket to Angel Island because of limited availability of 'Alcatraz Only' tour. Turns out this Island isnt bad. Rich with history and the tour was really good.
Great place for history and hikes.
Clean, open, and beautiful! Definitely a place to visit when you come to the Bay. Lots of trails.
Great little quiet island 15 minutes by boat from Tiburon lots of trails a little cafe you can rent a bike and bike on the island or bring your own bike on the boat . Great views on a sunny day.
Great view of San Francisco Bay. Nice experience on mountain biking!
History in the Frisco Bay. Too much to tell here. From Spanish explorers. Native American. To nike missiles. And on a lovely state park right under your nose. The effort to get here is worth a day long excursion. But go early to have a nice walk and take in the island. And take a jacket.
Like many people we only went bc our Alcatraz package included it. It was INCREDIBLE. Beautiful views and landscape. The landing area had a cute restaurant with good food. We took a tram tour of the island and passed a lot of hikers and people picnicking. We'd never heard of it before arriving and my whole group can't say enough good things. Definitely worth the trip out.
Amazing 360 views of both the Bay Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge. great for hiking and biking!
Good park. It is very easy to get here. There are few trails there. Bus tour is also available. There are few cafes there, not sure about quality of food.
A great view and history on this island.
Beautiful park. Gives a magnificent view of goldenvgate bridge, SFo sky line and Bay Bridge... All from one location. The park has a nice team tour and scenic hikes. Very close to SF. Great for a one day trip.
Busy but very beautyfull peace of nature. Visit together with Alcatraz is ideal
Beautiful island! Went there on our day trip to Alcatraz. It was incredible and would love to go back and spend more time on the island! Worth a whole day trip or even camping trip if you have the time! If not book it with your Alcatraz trip! You will not be disappointed!
What a beautiful national park, and a great place to get pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge, and downtown San Francisco. The History of the island told by the guides, is a must for all the History buffs. :)
The plan is to review 3 ways:) this is the first. We are blessed to own a boat and that said. The island is a short ride from our dock in Sausalito. Don’t tell anyone but the park service of California fiesta great job of presenting a beautiful set of docks and mooring field to welcome you. Don’t know if I’m right but I think it’s around 15 bucks for the day . Not sure cause I buy a poppy pass yearly to go anytime and to many other state parks. Great day hanging and watching the boats roll in. Great cantina and deli to. Next I’ll check in about great hikes some short and pretty and some up to 5 miles! Great fun
Nice place to visit & learn some history
Beautiful place to visit! It has hiking trails, picnic areas, and bicycle trails!
Wonderful place to go if you want to have a friend's or corporate day out. Trails are not difficult and the view is amazing. Guy who don't want wanna hike can bike or play volleyball as well
Great hikes, options for tram rides, and overnight stays.
Not too many people, but just enough. Our experience was amazing, but we didn't get far into Angel Island because we didn't bring hiking shoes or clothes. You can see the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance, and we even saw seal pups up on the docking area. Many places to visit, such as the Nuclear Missle site, the 600 man barracks, the many beaches, and a couple other places. There is a tram to take around the island also, but it costs about $60 for the 3 adults and 1 child we had. I recommend wearing hiking clothes and shoes, and bringing a jacket.
Fun place! Good for a day hike
Angel Island is a fantastic place to visit if you can get over there. We sailed ourselves this day, and we're lucky enough to get a slip.
Great views of the Golden gate bridge and the other bridges too
Well worth the visit. Lots of important history on this island.
Great Historical place.very interesting.I personally found the history to be sad.
Great views. Perfect spot for a picnic and a relaxing afternoon.
Put your walking shoes and take the road all the way around, about 3 hours. Discover some history and see some interesting ruins. There is a nice restaurant at the ferry landing. You have to take the ferry from either Tiburon or SF Pier 41.
Had a great time here with my wife. We hiked the North Ridge + Sunset trail loop. The trails are well cared for and were not too difficult. The total hike took us just under 2 hours but we were moving fairly quickly.
Such a cool and amazing place packed with history. We rented bikes on the mainland and took the ferry over. Loved biking all over the island and enjoying the amazing views. We highly recommend!
This is an amazing tour to take. High recommend. I would say it is designed for an amazing family day. I would also recommend bring a sweatshirt and pants, it got really chilly the day I went.
Great not so well known gem. Great hiking territory and really informative history info boards all around the track. Be sure to visit the lady shooting the canon. Interesting and a lovely little bay to see and nice clean restrooms.
Lovely island. Great views of San Francisco and other attractions around the Bay. Easy, pleasant cycle ride with bikes hired on the island. Cafe OK.
Beautiful place. Had a sobering/moving visit to the old immigration station. Great ferry trip from Fisherman's Wharf
Fun place to hang out, with amazing views of the bay on a non foggy day
Meh, some nice views quiet boring for me
This is a really neat place to visit for the day
Interesting trip, nice views. But prepare to really strong and cold winds
What a cool island to go visit! The guided team tour was more helpful than if I would have done it on my own.
Beautiful escape with great picnic areas and interesting guided tours. I recommend this to anyone
Picturesque, great hiking, multiple points of interest, many areas for picnicing and camping, plus a very welcoming staff. What's not to like about this island?
Wonderful place and the best spot for pictures of the bay. Be aware that the tram tour makes absolutely no stops on its path so it's not ideal if you like to take time to make pictures like me. Renting a bike or walking is a much better option. If you came with Alcatraz package, walking around the island or to its top will most likely take too much time to be back for the boat but you can take an other later (for a fee !). We didn't camp here but I sort of wish we had, seemed like a great and safe spot and the rangers were super friendly !
A hidden gem which during my 6+ years living in the Bay Area I never knew existed! I'm so glad I took my family to visit here, seeing the natural beauty and experiencing the calm of this unique stare park. Fascinating history and delicious food at the Cove Cafe just made this the perfect outing!
Loved this park and would go again.
Nothing special to see around compared to the other american national parks. Worth the visit if you go to Alcatraz.
Great historic island on the San Francisco Bay worth visiting.
Really beautiful state park. Plenty of spaces for picnic and barbecue. If you don’t have a boat, which I believe most of us don’t, you can take a ride from San Francisco or Tiburon.
Beautiful, serene place! Must go! The management at the island are very very helpful and professional.
Great place for a picnic with gorgeous views of San Francisco, the Golden Gate bridge, and the Bay.
Beautiful place to go for the day! It's great to bring lunch for a picnic and please do make sure you take a picture or have a map of the trails before tackling them. Prevent yourself from getting lost.
Hi everybody inspite of the fact that I have never been here in my entire 43 and a half years of life I have been trying valiantly to post the business hours for this location in order to make peoples' lives a little easier but as always, google refuses to approve my edits. I personally believe that this is a very, very essential piece of information because people need to know more or less when they can come visit and have some fun with their friends, relatives and acquaintances. What if for some reason a family tries to have a picnic here and all of a sudden they find themselves with the surprise that they can't stay because the facility is closed due to a holiday or something? I sincerely hope that if one of you staffers who works here ever reads my review you post this information so that there are no unpleasant surprises for anybody in the future. Thank you all very much for your courtesy and kindness.
Spending a few nights moored at Angel Island is a great mini vacation for boaters. Take a lot of drinking water as the chlorine level of the Island water is very high. The food at the cafe is much better than you might expect from a small venue.
Great place to get away from the city without going too far away. There are a lot of people there on the weekends, but there are plenty of places to go to feel disconnected a little bit.
Beautiful view of the golden gate bridge and over san Francisco.
Highly recommended hike over mount Livermore!
The teacher in me really appreciates the historical side of the island and the ability to explore and learn about it's place thought history. Though it's also a gorgeous spot to escape the city and take a picnic or go play on the grassy area near the ferry dock. It would be much less appealing if Karl was out, but on a sunny day it's a beautiful spot.
Very interesting place has a lot of historical significance. Worth the trip if you are going to Alcatraz too
Awesome day.. love it
Generally the trails here are nice; however, as someone who suffers from a fear of heights I did find myself wishing they were a little wider to allow passerbys to more easily share the trail. The views here are absolutely stunning and the main reason to visit in my opinion.
