This Park corresponds to the category of State park.
Such a great park with excellent staff! I did 10 miles on Monday and 14.5 on Friday. Really enjoyed my vacation hiking adventures. Some people had mentioned this being an intermediate hike. I think that is laughable. It is an easy hike, I've had sidewalks with more incline. There is no technical footwork required and no drop offs. However, the way each segment is connected is nice. You can really customize how far you want to go. I highly recommend.
Just spent 5 nights camping here. Beautiful and peaceful place! The park was clean and well-maintained. We were in Site 48, which is a nice spot. My only complaint is because of the slope backing in, the jack stands on our camper dragged on the concrete. We enjoyed scenic hiking and fishing during our stay. It was hot and there were LOTS of mosquitoes, but that's just part of camping in August.
Nice place, quiet during the week. Very nice terrain. Only downside was it was like giving blood at the Red Cross; mosquitoes were voracious at night. You WILL need the 97% DEET insect repellent on every exposed piece of skin. Verizon Wireless signal is virtually non-existent, but upside is that nobody can bother you on phone.
Arkansas' largest state park is also one of its most beautiful, with views of verdant hills and hollows everywhere you go. Lots of wildlife to see too, including, on our most recent visit, a mother raccoon and three babies, plus twin white-tailed deer fawns. Scenic campsites and miles of nice trails to hike as well.
It's great family place really clean with pavilions, grills and a playground. I've always enjoyed going there
Great three day golfing trip for me and my buds. We stayed in one of the two bedroom cabins which was really nice. Park staff was helpful. We also found a great local breakfast/lunch grocery at Colt. Only complaint is the 5 day cancellation policy for the cabins when ur trip is based on the weather.
Empty. Quiet. Nice balance between nature and picnic tables...
Beautiful peaceful so nice
Beach on rv side still not repaired or any sand put down. Been to this park 6 times. Still looks same. The back house far end at circle finally getting repaired. Beach at picnic area has very steep grade. So make sure you have all your stuff. Staff friendly and helpful. Still good place to go.
Very clean place. Would recommend to anyone.
Love this park. Plenty of room to park a motorhome, lots of beautiful shade trees. Wildlife viewing is awesome. Maintained perfectly. Chiggars, so come prepared. Great tent camping as well!
It's a really nice, out of the way state park. The employees were friendly. If you're looking for a quiet, out of the way place with some scenery and decent hiking trails, I'd recommend this park for sure.
Very nice campground. Spacious and well maintained. Loved the private showers.
Was in town for work and a cabin (#9) was rented for us. The entire park was gorgeous. Our cabin could use a facelift but everything was clean and it had a great view of the lake. We were wishing we could stay longer.
Park was overall nice, especially the golf course.. mosquitos made it nearly impossible to be outside however.. there are single use shower/bathrooms in the camping area by the gift shop that are air conditioned unlike the other restrooms which literally feel like a sauna
I've been foing to village creek aince I was a kid. Now I bring my children. My husband and I got married there. It holds a special place in our hearts.
A little piece of heaven. Hiking, fishing, bike trails, horse trails and birding. Its all there with two lakes, numerous camping spots for tents, campers and RVs. Large pavilions for family reunions and gatherings.
Excellent public course. Well maintained. Friendly staff. Looooong !
Nice park for picnic
Nice place to swim on a hot day they got a playground and Grills
What a gem.! Hadn't heard of it but found it n our Good Sam Campground guide. Beautifully wooded, generous campsites, clean modern facilities. We are planning to return for a longer stay in near future. Just passing thru , but happy to have stayed this time
This is hands down my favorite golf course close to Memphis.
Helpful staff, and very friendly. Loved my stay at one of the cabins, pet friendly one was very clean also.
Good place to go
Great peaceful Place. Very well maintained. Stayed 4 days 31 ft. Motorhome in pull through.upper lake. Getting ready to go back this year again.(Bring More Food!!
It's a great location with lots of well-kept facilities. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I stop here almost everyone I drive between College Station and St Louis
Great campground. Nice equipment.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Poor internet. Poor cellular. Quite. They charge extra if you want to change spots even if the park is empty.
Staff is very helpful and polite and great place for family fun
Good spot to camp. Had zero issues.
So much to do! Or not, if just enjoying the peace & quiet is what you want. I'm not a golfer, but I'm told by those that know that it's a fabulous course. I've been horse camping here; the trails are very beautiful, well marked, & mostly shaded. The hospitality couldn't be better. I've stayed in the lovely cabins in the woods, too. There's lots more to do, too. Check their website.
Great park, no sites are on lake, but good access and boathouse.
Although I am Local, Village Creek has been a staple in outdoor recreation for my family for 30+ years. Great trails, hiking, biking, fishing, riding, camping (tent & RV friendly), amazing golf course and newly renovated cabins for rent.
We stayed in one of the cabins for a couple of nights. The cabin we were in was super nice and everything was very comfortable. The ladies in the visitors center were incredibly nice and very helpful with all of our needs. There were plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained. The kids favored the basketball courts, so bring a ball and enjoy the fun! We will be back again.
Staying in a cabin. Has everything you need but food. Very clean and organized. Even has satellite TV. Only thing is no AT&T signal. Not always a bad thing!
One of my favorite state parks. Two big lakes and lots of activities
very fun place to go to not a lot of enemies but it is fun you can swim and there are other things to do there for kids it's a great place for family reunions and picnics.
Enjoyed motorcycle camping here. Only negative was the sound of a fan of nearby camper trailer.
Water was beautiful, tree's starting to bud, the deer was present along with the squerrels. I enjoyed my visit.
Park nice but NO cell phone access. Heard gun shots around 1:30 am. Couldn't even make an emergency call.
The camping area's are really nice. The swimming area is horrible. They need to finish the beach area.
Perfect place for horse camping! The people at the Visitor's Center are super friendly!
Village creek has the best trails a great place too visit and beautiful scenery
scouted this out as our next camping trip very beautiful place
We hiked a "short" trail and it was hot and muddy and by the time we got back to the bottom my family was furious with me. It was a good time, I don't care what they say.
Very nice park for RV camping! Concrete pads. Beautiful areas. Swimming beach good hiking, huge lake for fishing, clean restrooms.
I love this place it was the best
Really enjoyed myself
I love village Creek it rained couldn't enjoy like usual
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Beautiful, shady campsite. Clean. Well maintained park.
Always welcomed warmly. Kept well. Great security. Plenty of park staff checking the area at all hours Love it and just an hour away. Been attending this park for over ten years.
I loved it.very nice parkand friendly people
It is an ok place for a weekend get away. Absolutely nothing to do in the area, unless you want to drive 45 mile to Memphis.
Nice park... Trails, frisbee golf, big lake amd peace and quiet
Great trails and nice veiws
Nice place to chill and clear your mind.
Nice camp sites and very helpful park ranger. A great place to take your family. Fishing, swimming and boats available.
Most campsites are well spaced apart. Some pull thru. Shade throughout. Be careful of site #48, there is a slight slope. Enough to cause your camper to drag. It is well maintained. Mosquitoes are in abundance. We brought a whole arsenal of mosquitoe defense to no avail. Fogger, off, zappers, candles, etc. No matter how hard we tried 100's of them. Extremely hot and humid. August may not be the best time to go. The staff is very friendly. We were pulled over by the ranger one night because we got lost and kept turning around. He needed to ensure we were campers because only registered guests are allowed after 10 PM. They do patrol. Knock one star off for the bugs. Great restaurant called Hot Stone Pizza not too far away in Wynne we highly recommend for their steaks.
Village Creek has wonderful walks in the woods with a great diversity of trees, which offer excellent fall color. You can bring your horse and use the stables, RV or tent camp, or rrnt one of their giant cabins with screened in porches. And the park has 2 lakes to fish or kayak/canoe. Just a great overall Arkansas State Park.
Great place to play golf. 3 beautiful and challenging 9 hole courses to play.
I've enjoyed bream fishing on lake dunn this week
Most challenging course i have played in arkansas. course was in fantastic shape and the staff was wonderful. be definitely play again
Peaceful and quiet, the staff is great and very helpful. The rv sites were concrete and level, overall a great place too stay. I loved it!!!!
Always a fun local place to spend an afternoon
Massive state park, biggest in Arkansas if i'm not mistaken. Plenty of activities to enjoy, usually decent fishing. Even has Horse stables and multiple pretty trails to enjoy. Only downside is climate and location allows for mosquitoes and snakes in the summer time. Great for large gatherings also.
We go every yr for family reunion. Always good
Wasn't happy with the RV park area
It's a really nice place
I have always loved Village Creek. From summer family reunions to quick trips just to get out of the city, its always refreshing.
Good place to relax, all kinds of things for the kids and mom and dad
What a beautiful park.
Wonderful Park! Great place for camping
Very friendly staff. The park is beautiful and well kept. Restrooms and showers are clean . Wildlife is plentiful ! We will definitely be back.
Awesome horse facility and camp sites! Three huge barns, round pens, spacious grounds. Beautiful park and swimming area. Come prepared because there are SO many insects (flies!)
This has always been one of my favorite places to go
Stopped in at visitors center before starting loop hike. Didn't tell me about the fallen tree blocking the path half way around the loop. Also, many ticks.
Had a wonderful time, everyone was so friendly. Loved the bathroom/shower was private and clean. Will be back! Found an excellent Italian restaurant, Avanti Italian Grill. If you get a chance check it out. Closes early on Sunday.
A great outdoor place and the restrooms are awesome! Temp controlled, well lit, and showers
Been going there for years. Love this place.
Friendly knowledgable staff, clean lodging, great cacamping, fishing~a hidden treasure!!
Beautiful place but way too many mosquitoes. Be sure you take a lot of bug spray.
Beautiful place to rv or tent camp. Well kept grounds and bathhouse. Activities all weekend.
Very beautiful park. Enjoyed my three days there and the staffs is outstanding. Looking forward to my family retreat next year.
Had a good time camping here! The only problem was the bugs, but that's a risk of camping. Our actual, reserved site was overrun with bees in the water tap. We told the rangers who set off to spray them, and who also gave us a new, slightly bigger site to set up our tent. This one had many mosquitoes under the picnic table, but no bees! And mosquitoes happen, so we dealt with it :-) The bathrooms were GREAT, and even Air Conditioned! The firewood officially purchased there took a LONG time to get burning, but once it was, it burned hot and wegll into the night. It was a good stay, with the exception of getting stung by the bees, but thankfully it was only me and not the kids who were stung.
Loved this place, so well kept and quiet
What a gorgeous place! Wonderful camping area, bring your horse, 2 lakes for fishing, cabins are nice, best golf course in Arkansas, and wonderful trails. Perfect for your family reunions or wedding.
Beautiful, well kept, bathrooms spotless. Wild life abundant. Deer, fawns, raccoons. Fire flies put on beautiful show at night. Would love to spend a month there. Fire pits, BBQ grills big pic nic Tables.
Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful place to camp
What a nice, quiet & clean state park. I stayed 3 days in a cabin that was just like home. All household amenities included n a great wkend rate! Forrest is dense & full of wildlife! The under brush is rich with moss, lichens and fallen timber. Lots of deer roaming park with honking geese & ducks above. Park staff extremely hospitable & quick to respond to any inquiry. Very quiet.....loved my stay and hope to return soon.
Love it there but phone service bad
Bathrooms in disrepair and dirty. Rental boats had problems. Beautiful park tho. Management staff friendly and obliging. Campsites nice, but Hornets and yellowjackets at campsite 54. Lots of ants too. A suggestion would be: a fish cleaning station.
We have family reunions every year. The bathrooms were clean with plenty of paper towels and toilet paper.
The park is great and has several things for you to enjoy, including 2 lakes for fishing, paddle boating, kayaking, & a golf course, hiking trails, walking trails, horseback trails, but it is the staff that really stand out. The team at Village Creek State Park were awesome. The staff was friendly, the park was clean, but most of all they stood up in my time of need. The park has minimal to zero cell service, which is great for disconnecting from the world, but not so much when emergencies happen. My husband threw his back out on the second night of our trip. I couldn't make any calls. I remembered seeing the Park Ranger truck at a house outside of the campground the day before. So I got my husband situated and got in our truck and headed that way. Crystal Watson, Park Superintendent, was eager to assist. She made sure that she had calmed me down (since I was on the verge of an anxiety attack from feeling so helpless & having to leave my husband) and then she called an ambulance for us. She came immediately to our campsite, assisted the paramedics, and made sure that I was ok to drive. The team was awesome and very concerned when my son & I showed up the next day to break camp. Crystal even called the following day to check on us. Hopefully, you never need medical assistance while on vacation, but it was nice to know that we were surrounded with loving people. I highly recommend this park and the staff. They are a very caring group of people.
Wonderful quiet place. Very helpful staff.
It was wonderful. The only thing that could have been better was the weather. Cold and overcast for this time of year. The closed in pavilion #4 really saved the day.
Quiet, quiet, quiet... So nice to be in a park where you relax. Alot of visible wind damage but still viable.
Camped here for the weekend and we had an awesome time. Great camping rates and ammenities, very clean park, campsites were perfect for what we needed as a family. Choctaw Day was fun for the kids. We will definitely be back next summer with more family.
Awesome trails and halloween for kids
Beautiful sceneries and if you love bird watching and looking for amphibians and reptiles it's a great place.
Really pretty place in the Fall
Fun time
It's very nice place to have a birthday party, family reunion, or just to go and relax with a book
Was very relaxing
You get no cell phone reception most of the time...! Makes a quiet stay...! Love it..And golf around the corner...!
Very pretty course and people were helpful.
I go several times a year camping, family reunions, and other outdoor activities. They have swimming, basketball courts, trails, activities all year long, and all sorts of other things. Village Creek is a wonderful State park to visit for the day or to go camping at. And they have some of the cleanest public restrooms I've ever seen. I'd rate them higher just for that.
Had a blast trail riding here. Nice facility for horses and fantastic trails.
Been goin ten years strong it's a must see Forrest and park
Excellent place
Great park for the whole family! Nicely maintained, clean and lots of activities from swimming, fishing, hiking, kayaking, and camping to biking and fun events at the visitor center.
Good Times and some good eatin!!! Feeling Swolt!!!lol
Didn’t even visit this place. Over priced and the springs were closed to visitors. Don’t know why anyone would visit.
The golf course is fantastic. Great views with a very friendly helpful staff. Give it a try! The price is low also.
Great park. Nice camping spots. Good hiking trails. Poor hiking trail maps.
Very clean, great staff. Perfect for family. Lots to do. We camped in our tent and went on a guided tree identification hike - kids had a great time.
Nice clean relaxing place. But no phone service .
Serene park. Good trails. Lake Austen was amazing!
Really clean nice park. Staff very friendly. Most sites are level. No views of the lake. Great for horses.
BEAUTIFUL
Very nice park...one of the nicest we've stayed at...would of gave it 5 stars but showers need scrubbing and updated...but toilets were good...
Love this place
I truly enjoy being able to get away at Village Creek State Park. Fishing is my greatest pastime and this area gives me great comfort when I need to just get away from home to enjoy a day out.
Beautiful place to go eighther alone to collect your thoughts or with the entire family and friends! Never run out of peaceful beauty!
Great trail and well maintained. Recommend go in fall and winter. Bugs about carried us away even after several coats of OFF.
Our family went there for 3 years in a row. Always something to do...cabins are nice..
We stayed at Village Creek State Park for two days. The park has a two night requirement when you stay on the weekend. Our experience was very pleasant. The park is well kept and very pretty with lots of ways to enjoy nature. It has hiking trails, boating, horseback riding, multi-use fields, and even a nature center. It also has a nice shop to buy souvenirs and supplies. The bathrooms were a mixed experience. One set we went into was old and needed cleaning. Another set was newer and very clean. The staff was very friendly. The sites were inexpensive and not too close together. We were impressed and plan to go back to this park.
As someone who recently fell in love with park work, this place is quite wonderful. You have a golf course nearby if you're interested in golfing, quite the lovely course by the way. Then you have the actual park itself with plenty of open space for families to kick back and relax. Have a meal, watch the kids play, biking, swimming, plenty of trails. Then you also have the gift shop with a solid selection of merchandise. Quite a fair amount of stuff to do here. Staff here has also been quite friendly from my experience, so the service has been quite nice. Looking forward to heading back as soon as it's not raining!
One of Arkansas's largest state parks. Great camping, hiking, and trail riding among many other options. Cabin rentals available along with a world class golf course next door.
It was so fun! The waters a little too green but the view is beautiful and the family |friend time there is such a good memory.
Very clean and well maintained. There are 3 separate RV camping areas. One area has a lot of sites but the sites are fairly close to one another. This area does not have sewer hookups but has a dump station at the entrance/exit. Another area has full hookups and the sites in this area are more spread out. This area has a playground and a swimming area. The third area is for people with horses. No sewer hookups in this area. However there are 2 dump stations as you leave this area. You are almost guaranteed to see deer everyday near the camp sites. There are 2 lakes for fishing.
Love this park
Leaves are beautiful this time of year.
Not one of my favorites! I guess if you have horses the horse camp would be fine.
Just nice
Good place for walks with the family! Beautiful place!
Unique park on the equally unique Crowley's Ridge. Interesting geologic feature with vegetation similar to the Appalachians.
Really enjoyed the time my family and I spent camping there. It's a beautiful park . The raccoons scared us the first night but they were just looking for food and didn't pay us too much attention. I can't wait to go back camping next year!
Great park. Doors on bath house in Loop A didn't lock but otherwise great. We will be back
Everytime we go its a blast !!! Kids family fun loveee it!
Very clean and well kept. Great hiking trails. Plenty to do for the family. Site 25
Nice trails bathrooms very clean
Good only few people
Loved it. Just wished the play ground had a swing set along with the gym set. Other than that it was great. Looking forward to another stay soon.
This state park is very nice. About 12 miles off I-40. Nice large sites and very large park. All sites are paved and mostly level. We stayed in pull thought site 49 for one night. Will stay here again.
We stayed there coming and going. Its abit off 40 but the park is very nice. Wide level parking spots nice shower facilities and great power.
Hey everybody it's Ricky Clark yet to come on down to the state park brainy kids do dogs and your family in this Frisbees and just play all day long but I said nice shaved and just sit back and relax and have a cookout on federal blanket Lena and take you a nap that's how peaceful it is so come on down check it out maybe I'll see you laying down there by
Nuce place for camping and hiking. Make sure to get a map, the trail markings are very confusing, criss cross multiuse trails horse, hike, and bike. Lots of resources for horses/trailers/boats. Not much for tent camping, but do have nice bath houses.
