This Park is included in the category of State park.
Absolutely gorgeous. Worth the stop. The views are truly breathtaking. There’s a mini train adults and kids can ride, a real train to take pictures by/on, campgrounds, a beautiful resort lodge, food, and I’m sure there’s so much more.
Quality State Lodge. Renovated in the past 5 years or less. Rooms are elegantly decorated and furniture choices were excellent. King bed slept especially well, comfortable. My friend and I stayed in the King Suite with an additional room. She opted for the sofa for both nights and remarked how well she slept. The Staff were genuinely helpful. Restaurant although short handed did an excellent of providing delicious meals on the buffet choice or individually ordered. The grounds were beautiful. October colors were everywhere. Wi-if not available in rooms however it was available in some places in the Lodge public spaces. I cannot wait to visit this Spring.
Awesome as usual, but busy this time of year.
This is one of the best places I have EVER been. Rooms are elegant, the whole inn was elegant. If you are going to be entertained you will need to do that yourself. There are/we're no TV's except for videos. This shows how long it's been since I was there. Early 1990s
This park is gorgeous and the lodge located herein is such a gem. The hiking trails seem well-maintained as are the small playground and train engine, both of the latter being especially nice for little ones.
The waiter was rude and quick temper. The lady cleaning the glass on the buffet line was spraying glass cleaner over the open food trays. I will stay at the lodge but I will never eat there again.
This is a very nice place to go but pales in comparison to Mount Nebo.
I have been coming here for over 10 years and the trip is always worth it from St. Louis. Beautiful roads people and facility again that's been rebuilt. You can't go wrong for a get a way or meeting place to bring the significant other or come alone on a motorcycle, car, truck or even bicycle if you're in good shape to climb the second tallest mountain in Arkansas. Beware it is called the Castle in the Clouds for a reason, there have been tins we've been socked in till after 10 am trying to get down off on the motorcycles. Literally cannot see more than 15' in front of your vehicle. So, back to the deck, share stories and have some coffee.
Beautiful countryside with amazing scenic foliage views. It's a definite must see on a fall foliage drive of Arkansas.
I wish I could stay there for a night. I was just visiting that place during one of my road trips- you cant miss from the scenic OK-1 route. There is restaurant and well organized park for kids. The surrounding scenery is beautiful.
Fun quick trip up the mountain. Very cold at the top! Take a jacket
Such a beautiful place. It is a must to see in Arkansas!
Beautiful place. Lived the views and the informative friendly staff. Didn't ride the train this trip but plan to with the grandkids and my dog which was welcome inside and on the train.
Wonderful and picturesque
Great park with restaurant. Beautiful views!
Love going to this historical landmark not just for beautiful views, but the wonderful buffet of food they offer as well. Talimena drive on the way up is beautiful as it gets! I would recommend this to everyone!
Food at restraunt was good, waitress very nice, took pictures of the kids by train engine but was cold.
Great resort. Quality food. Gorgeous, panoramic views! Will definitely return.
Rode the Glory Train around the park. Beautiful surroundings.
Been several times although it has been awhile. The most fun that I had was when we took my horrible sister-n-law on the hiking trails. Let’s just say she couldn’t go very far. Great memories!!!
Beautiful, clean, quite just what I needed
Pretty drive thru this park. You can see far away from the top at the lodge.
I love this place, wish the restaurant was better. Other State Parks like Mt Magazine and Petit Jean have great restaurants...just wishing
Fooking Impressive Awesomeness
Stunning vistas, beautiful lodge, well worth the drive. Last stop for anything going west to Oklahoma, there is virtually nothing but more beautiful overlooks past this point.
Beautiful mountain views, very nice Inn and nice restaurant, numerous hiking trails and campground for RV and tent campers. The ride in the mini train made me feel young again. We are there during a storm and thrilling to see it hit and engulfed the top of the mountain where we were.
Great room,great views,great food.Friendly people.Wanna come back again.But please let me on the train,lol.
I enjoyed the views and the moderately challenging hiking trails.
Great lodge. Love the location. Food is not very good.
Great place, with two nice short hiking trails and a beautiful old eclectic house, besides the lodge and other attractions. Very much worth a stop.
Beautiful scenery, food and rooms!
Come From Away Broadway play Lovely lodge rv park miniture train ride putt putt OBOy
It's a very beautiful mountain love taking fall and winter photos . Great place to do night shots.
Beautiful views
The site was made for an RV which made putting up our tent very difficult. It had only one bench in open making it very unprivate. Beautiful view nice place
What a beautiful drive! Nice scenic lookouts. Didn't know Arkansas was so nice. Highly recommended.
Absolutely beautiful historic park and lodge. Even though the lodge has been remodeled recently.
Great place to camp. The lodge is way overpriced and the food sucks!
Beautiful place! There are lots of great overlooks to see the views, and several hiking trails. We camped out, but there is also a beautiful lodge that looks like a higher end hotel inside. Definitely a great spot to spend a night or two!
This is an undiscovered resort. There is very little to do here but facilities are nice. If they ever hired an activities director it would be packed.
Sublimely beautiful
Beautiful
Nice camp spots. And a Train you can ride. Ice cream shop.
A good fall color scenic drive, 3-5 hrs drive from North Texas. But don't expect as you see in the east side of the USA. But this gives you a driving pleasure and a relaxing stay at the queen Wilhelmina hotel, though it's hard to get during the peak fall season.
Excellent place to getaway and unplug. Great staff, amazing views and wildlife. Don't expect much cell service while in the area which add to the adventure.
Loved it! Would have given it 5 stars but parking and crowding won't let me. Great place to hike and great for kids. I can see why this place is so popular!
Motorcycle ride to Queen Wilhelmina State Park was awesome who plays for the family in the future it's awesome place to go
This is the third time that I come here from Dallas,TX. Awesome place to relax and have fun with family. Definitely I recommend everyone to come here. Very clean hotel with friendly staff and fair price.
Beautiful sites and friendly folks. Love stopping in when I'm near. Family friendly as well.
Great place to get away. Incredible views.
Very nice!!
Great food, beautiful views.
Beautiful and very friendly!
Very close to heaven!!! Oh the weather is fantastic also!!!!!
Will go back soon to hopefully get to ride the train
Beautiful views, great weather.
I’ve been coming here for at least 10 years as a destination for my motorcycle rides. It’s located in an area of great motorcycle riding roads. The Queen Wilhelmina used to be a subpar hotel. After the renovation, the place is like a 4 star hotel with a 2 star price! The restaurant has limited selections, but the food was good and price was right! Arkansas State Park did an outstanding job with this hotel renovation - although it took them over three years to complete the project. Pluses- the VIEW, price, facilities. Hiking, biking, motorcycle riding, camping. Good food. Minuses - limited selection of food at the only restaurant. Booked up quickly during spring and fall (riding season)
If I were older, with no kids, just wanting to relax, I would probably give this five stars. But we had our kids with us, and with no pool and little to do, they were bored out of their skulls. There is a magnificent view, and the train ride was nice; I could see coming here for a day trip if we lived closer. The room, staff, and food were top-notch. That said, we probably won't be back, at least until the kids are much older.
Beautiful scenic drive. Decent to great campgrounds. Several lookout points.
Possible would've tasted it a 5 but mother nature blocked about of the view with fog
They had to tear out 11 rooms after the big remodel due to black mold since the contractor didn't run the condensation hoses outside the building from the heating and air conditioning elements. If they got rid of all the mold and insulated the pipes that broke due to freezing it will be a nice place.
Must see! My favorite is Lovers Leap hiking trail.
Large area dominated by trees and the scenery is fantastic.
Beautiful park... but I'm not waiting a hour and a half to eat anywhere!
Lodge was beautiful. Hiking trails were nice. Camping spots were close together, almost too close. Nice place to take kids.
This place is an absolute must see in the state of Arkansas. The location offers an almost magical feel and makes you feel like you're on top of the world. Additionally, the service quality is fantastic. If you're looking for a family or romantic getaway, look no further.
it's a pretty place to look at, camp or drive by but costly for people on a fixed budget to visit and enjoy. there are a lot of motorcyclists that stop here, along with tours of a 9 level house.
Nice scenic drive and great food at the top
A must stop place to visit or stay. The establishment is always clean and inviting. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The gift shop had a good selection of gifts and souvenirs. There is a of things to do there.
Need more public restroom facilities to be open. The scenic drive is awesome and worth the trip.
Good food nice view
Lovely views from the lodge. Peaceful place to stay, especially at night. Cozy and spacious rooms. I enjoyed my stay and I always remember this stop. I would definitely recommend. Reasonably priced!
Awesome is all I can say. The hotel and restaurant are the best.
Always a beautiful place to go and a beautiful ride
Beautiful day for sitting on porch. Has a nice buffett.
Fantastic location! Road from the lodge down has amazing views. Great experience!
Always a great place to visit. Especially when the car show is in town.
Beautiful place, great food, and the best staff there. When lunch is super busy EVERYONE that works there, including outside workers, etc get in there to help out bussing tables, serving food, doing EVERYTHING!. It gets that busy! But well worth it. When my elderly mom took a bad fall on the grounds they were there faster than you can blink. So kind, compassionate, helpful, and caring. They even followed up on a call few days later to check on her condition. Park is awesome. View is amazing ! Windy!
The park is clean and well maintained. The staff are both congenial and helpful. It is set in beautiful scenic vistas and historic significance. Cell service is spotty.
What a gorgeous place!! Definetly some of the best vistas you'll see!
Good food in the restaurant. Reasonable prices, and friendly staff. What a view!
Had a great time. Food was wonderful.
Very good campsites and the lodge is five star. Highly recommed for RV camping and the hiking trails are well marked and well maintained
Lots of family friendly things to do: playground, mini golf, train ride, volleyball, and light to moderate hiking with stunning views.
One of my favorite state park lodges. The food at the cafe is usually pretty descent. The view is awesome. Cool thing on summer evenings, you can watch the clouds form from the lower valley floor as they hit elevation at the top of the mountain.
Great camping and hiking.
Excellent dining good fresh food
Wonder full views .pricely but good food and service. Best desserts and plenty of them. Grounds are beautifully and nice place to stay or camp
Very nice
Limited rv spots. Awesome views
Its pricey but it's a tourist destination
Beautiful place. I'd love to go back for a get away.
It was cool and my little sisters loved it.
We came here for a day trip. It was everything we expected and so much more! The views are amazing! We will definitely be coming back soon!
Beautiful drive up the mountain. Some of the best views I've ever seen. We did not stop at the resteraunt at the top but my grandma says its wonderful.
Awesomeness drives through forests..! 5 ☆☆☆☆☆.. Great place to view Oklahoma
Good place to go for food sometimes it's not always the hottest precious but a great place for a good view and the train ride is great
Great food and view.
Fantastic. Been a long time since I was up there. One of the prettiest spots in the state. Kiamichi Valley is beautiful.
Menu was excellent and the service was good. It was a very slow night.
Love going here, just make your reservation several months in advance.
Rooms are beautiful, clean and spacious. We we’re very impressed especially for the rate we paid. Everything was well maintained and the staff was super nice and helpful. Nice little gift shop. We picked up some toiletries and some snacks. All reasonably priced. We had a hamburger at the restaurant and it was really good. They had a seafood buffet also. The grounds are immaculate and the scenery is spectacular. Can’t wait to go back again.
Good meal. Good way to enjoy the site.
Beautiful place. I love the views and the wildflowers.
Beautiful place!
Scenic park, restaurant has good buffet
Enjoyed staying at the RV campgrounds. Beautiful views of the mountains and valleys.
A very historic and awesome park. There is a little something for every one. Surprisingly hotel rates are very reasonable 150. To 170. A night. There is a really awesome rv park, and rates that are fantastic. 30/50 amp full hook ups. The restaurant is good with excellent service. Do yourself a favor and visit. Mountain views are awesome.
Still one of my favs
We loved this park! Nice little walking trails around the area. Pretty botanical gardens with loads of different butterflies. The train was fun for the whole family (there were 9 of us). The brick buildings and steam engine we're nice to see. Our five year old daughter love dancing on the Amphitheater stage. We had fun.
Took a drive out here for some day hiking. The park in its entirety is very well kept and nice; paved roads up to the lodge and around the park. They had some public restrooms for people visiting not staying at the lodge and a nice little playground for the kids. The trails are easy to moderate in difficulty with the longest one being about a mile long. Room rates are not too pricey either..next time we plan to stay a night and try out the restaurant as well.
Wow! Excellent job Arkansas State Parks. New resort with great trails, grounds and recreation facilities. Modern, comfortable rooms and a great resturaunt. The lodge has a common room where you can enjoy the view in comfortable chairs. Again, wow.
Beautiful motorcycle ride through gorgeous country..
The Lover's Leap trail is a pleasant mile-long loop trail. The lodge is stunning and has an interesting history. The restaurant inside the lodge serves up a wide range of dishes. Great staff are everywhere. Heck, even the numerous hummingbirds seemed friendlier than you'd expect!
Arkansas State Parks should be Rated 10 Stars not just 5! Queen Wilhelmina is beautiful!
The scenery was beautiful. The buffet could've been fresher but it was still good
Gorgeous views
Beautiful park. Especially loved the type of the tiny house. The ranger who gave the type was very entertaining and informative.
The lodge was beautiful. The servers were funny and kind but Casey was very rude. We were there for a wedding. I requested that we get another table cloth and I saw her walk up to two other employees and start complaining. Then I attempted to help her change out the table cloth where she told me it would be better if she did it herself. So unprofessional! Not to mention she lost my parents reservations for the weekend so my siblings had to stay elsewhere.
The mountains are beautiful in the spring! We drove up here for the weekend! Enjoyed it!
Serene, and beautiful views! By far my favorite place in Arkansas so far.
Beautiful quiwt park with very clean facilities. Plenty to do for the kiddos.
Very nice
The room was awesome! Very clean, spacious bathroom and shower, comfortable beds and quiet. Staff was very friendly. The only complaint i have would be the restaurant. Food was cold at breakfast and we were the first customers there. At $10 a person i would expect better!
It's absolutely wonderful, not particularly AMAZING! But very comfortable! IT IS INFESTED WITH CHIGGARS! If you are tent camping BE CAREFUL! my family left with no less than 40 bites on our legs!
My favorite go to place to get away and relax. Lodge is on top of the mountain overlooking a beautiful valley. Buffet is ok, friendly staff everywhere and rooms are beautiful.
Beautiful place to visit.
Awesome views,we had the buffet @ the lodge restaurant. Our food tasted home cooked & there were so many choices. The staff was so sweet & very attentive. We will be back & hope to book a room in the lodge on our next visit.
This place is fantastic!! Camping, lodging, hiking, train rides for the kids, great cell signal, gift shop, beautiful views... the list goes on and on. A surprising jewel near Mena Arkansas.
Nice park.. mainly for people who camp in their RV but not much wilderness camping
The area is beautiful. The park is well maintained. Lock up your food - it is definitely bear country!
Beautiful mountain views! Cloud capped mountain at times.
Always beautiful even when its foggy
Good food. Reasonably priced. Beautiful views. Need liquor license..
Stay there on all my motorcycle trips to Arkansas!
We camped 2 nights in site #16 and had a great experience. We were on motorcycles so our camping equipment was limited to hammocks and tarps. The trees in site #16 were perfect for hammocks and it was really nice to be across from the bath house. The bath house was clean and much better than other state parks I’ve stayed at. We had the breakfast buffet at the lodge both mornings, there were many options and the food was good. The price is a little steep at $9.95 but the drink is included so it wasn’t too bad and it saved us a trip into Mena. We had burgers one night at the lodge and they were good, and you can’t beat the view. Hiking trails were mostly well maintained. The reservoir trail is a waste of time and calories to see a hole in the ground with a rock wall around it and no sign explaining what was here. On the other hand Lover’s Leap is a great trail with an awesome view. If you are brave enough to attempt the hike to the settlers cemetery a machete would be good to have because the trail is very over-grown and there were many ticks. I recommend driving to it instead. The lodge is very nice and the people are both helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this state park! Photo of a sunrise over the train included.
This is a great destination for all ages. Visiting in the summer, the park offers a small train that encircles the entire summit, hiking trails, and an amazing lodge with panoramic views of the surrounding Ouachita Mountains. The Lodge also has a very good restaurant with reasonably priced, varied selections. They have recently added a bar which serves beer and wine. The drive up the park is breathtaking. Don't miss it!!
Great drive to a beautiful scenic park.
Trails breathtaking views hiking
Very nice
I stayed here one night while traveling on my motorcycle to Eureka Springs. I was very surprised how nice the lodge was for a state park. I'm from Texas and our state parks are nothing like this! It could have easily passed for a Hilton. The rooms were very spacious and clean, very modern amenities, and one of the nicest hotel showers I've ever seen. Food was also quite good. I would definitely stay here again.
Been going here for years.. Beautiful place
The restaurant has wonderful food.
Beautiful lodge with stunning views. Great restaurant with an excellent wait staff.
What a GREAT place to stay. The room we had was huge with a great shower...good showers are hard to come by these days at hotels. The food at the restaurant was great as was the service. My only complaint would be that there is not a pool but they are not gonna lose a start for that. I bet this would be the place to be when a big storm rolls in.
Enjoyed my time here.
Great fun
Beautiful views, great food, very very poor service.
Great staff! Great view! Great bar!
We've been here two nights at the lodge, and it has been absolutely wonderful! Beautiful views, lots to see and do. Facilities are nice and clean. Donnie in the restaurant is not only hilarious but a wonderful server! Front desk staff is friendly and helpful too! Can't wait to come back!!!!
The view is really nice from this location. It's beautiful when the clouds roll across the hills in the spring. Not as glorious as the Rockies, but worth the drive from Dallas and back.
A lady dissapeared from lovers leap trail in 2001 never to seen again. Watch your step in the woods
Awesome view
AMAZING BUFFET AND VEIW! A must on the bucket list.
Scenic views from RV sites are few. Park area has grown up and nature blocks most of the scenic views of the past years. Park RV camping area brush needs trimming to bring back the park's beautiful views. RV sites are very narrow and many are very short for 35' RV with slideouts. RV Sites are way to close together, could almost touch the next trailer. No camping Privacy at this park. Some sites are gulley washed and RV sites need maintenance. Mini train is down and mini golf course looks long out of use. Been coming to the Mountain for almost 50 years but first time camping and will probably be the last RV camping trip to Wilhelmina State Park. Wilhelmina park does not seem to have the high standards of maintenance of most of the Arkansas state parks.
The view... unbelievable, the buffet was really delicious and I really loved your "Music on the Mountain" presentation. It was great sitting in the Hearth Room listening to the bluegrass music with all the guests sitting around. Reminded me of a Hallmark movie. Thanks so much for a great experience.
Breath taking
