REVIEWS OF Petit Jean State Park IN Arkansas

Stephen King

We stayed here one night rather than grabbing a motel near I-40. We had a good breakfast in the restaurant and then took a nice morning hike down to the falls and back. The hotel room was small, clean, and comfortable. Nice lodge and park grounds. I am glad we stayed here rather than up near the I-40 generic standardized chains. Lot's of great parks and natural beauty in Arkansas, take some time to enjoy it.

Michael Wheeler

This state park is one of the coziest, natural, fresh, and most of all beautiful places that I've ever been to in my life. The cabins that they offer here are clean, well built, and come with everything you need. And to boot, they offer a free bundle of wood when you rent out a cabin for you to enjoy a nice nice warming up to the fire. I look forward to coming back here and can't wait!

Josina Reaves

A great day trip from Little Rock! I drove out with my four-year-old nephew and my sister, and we had a terrific time. Easy drive, lovely views once you're off the interstate, and the park is beautiful. We visited the waterfall overlook and the hiked the Bear Cave Trail. It was a great day out!

Sweet Smell of Rain Photography

Beautiful park. Easy access to many picturesque places. Couple more difficult trails to more awesome sights. Lodge has some incredible meals.

Dani Mailloux

I always enjoy this park. There's a bunch of trails to explore and great scenery to see.

Jessica Birchler

This was a wonderful experience! We spent a few days here and were able to hike many of the trails, visit the caves, and explore many of the naturally beautiful things that make Arkansas the natural state. Sunsets were spectacular and the memories are amazing. As soon as we got home the kids asked when we could go back!

Brad Walsh

Pictures, descriptions with flowery words in print, even direct recounting from someone who has been here will not capture the true nature of this place. If you enjoy hiking and being outdoors, natural wonders, this is a great place to visit. I feel fortunate to have found this hidden gem.

Anna Ratliff

Amazing state park with amazing views. The trails were well marked and cared for. And the campsites were great and not to close together. We loved this state park.

Nirja Desai

Clean, well kept, I've been visiting here over many years and it's always a joy to revisit. Make sure you pack water and sunscreen, especially for this time of year!

Jodi Russell

Gorgeous place, fantastic views, so much to see & explore! Great family place to visit, great date place to with someone special, great for any & all ecplores, for hikers, climbers, bicyclist, & all photographers must visit! Great place for a vacation spot too! Super kid & family friendly!

Tammy Jones

I have come to Petit Jean for 16 yrs for our family vacation. I recommend this place to anyone of all ages who wants to experience beauty, nature, peace and history. There is something to do for everyone.

Cheryl Turner

Awesome Antique car show .last weekend. Had a great time with my Lovie Johnny..

J Evans

Wonderful park. Trails are well maintained but may be a little tough for some. The waterfall is wonderful and would have enjoyed spending a couple of more days here. Sadly there are no public swimming areas except for the pools.

Joel Lommasson

Great park with waterfall and great kayaking. Park staff, however, double charged us and refused to correct the error. I recommend visiting, but not camping overnight. You may be charged $100 for a $25 one night camping site, and not refunded.

Tom Hickey

Just a beautiful park well kept and everyone is friendly and helpful. 4 1/2 mile hike was awesome. You should be in good health for this hike.

Jessica Smith

Great place. We stayed in one of the cabins, went hiking and saw the falls.

Brandy Wickliffe

Great place to visit with interesting history, fun parks for the kids and an awesome gift shop!

E. Sanchez

It's a beautiful fun hike sadly it's drying up so you'll see the waterfall very thin. Thanks to the government allowing Nestle to take water that belongs to the people. It'll be our tradition to come here every year on labor day.

Alex Oblein

Love this park. First time here. Beautiful views of the lake. Lots of trails for walking. The RV park is probably the best we've ever stayed in. The sites are spread out, they are level (good since our leveling Jack's aren't working), they all seem to have a great view, a picnic table, lantern pole, fire pit, BBQ grill and even a flat pad for a tent. The staff has been very helpful. The bathhouse is warm, clean and has plenty of hot water for a shower. We have already made reservations to come back in the fall.

Regenia Thompson

Beautiful scenes. The food was good. The dining staff was very friendly and helpful.

Sean Cosgrove

Beautiful and affordable. It could use a few more dining options.

Clyde Carr

Huge park with lots of hiking trails and scenic views. Mather Lodge Restaurant has good food with reasonable prices and great views from the dining room. If you like vintage cars, stop at The Museum of Automobiles while you're there.

Veronica Lovell

Beautiful scenic overlooks, trails, and water falls. Nice campsite. Super Phone reception.

Caleb Hastings

Cedar Falls trail is awesome! The falls is beautiful! Don't waste time hiking to the Blue Hole... It is more of a Brown Hole.

CHB 243

Beautiful and clean. The park staff does an excellent job.

Guilherme Prezotti

The park is stunning. I recommend for people to go with time to explore every lookout, the waterfall, the cave, the main Lodge, etc. It is definitely a place to spend the day and have fun. Just be mindful that not all trails (especially the one that leads to the waterfall) are easy to children, elderly or people with any knee, joint problem. There are plenty of options for parking and places to visit. Bring your water, snacks and enjoy !

Patricia Rambin

Beauty in my back yard. Love love love this place.

Brandi Reed

Lake Bailey was great for a quick family fishing trip. Clean facilities and lots of shade.

Randy Shilling

We (Angel and I) absolutely love this place. We enjoy camping at the campgrounds, and hiking as many trails as we can. We brought the kids up here for years, now it's our time!

Candise Rutledge

Petit Jean park is by far our favorite place to go hiking. There's everything from super easy trails to difficult and I haven't met a staff member or Ranger that wasn't friendly and very helpful. Can't wait til our next visit!

Brandy Taylor

Great place to explore. Never actually made it to the waterfall. We did find a water snake. Does that count? The overlooks are beautiful. Apparently to get to the waterfall, park by the lodge and take the mile hike to the waterfall. We ran out of time once we realized how to get there. We did find the cave. That was a great sight.

Amos Spencer

The campground was clean quiet. The trails were well marked. Caleb Parker park ranger was very helpful.. Our ac was not working. He got up on the. roof and had the fan blowing in no time.

Stuart Countryman

Beautiful scenery. This should be on everyone's bucket list! Nice cabin. Wonderful food at the restaurant in Mather Lodge.

Michael Parks

Patty Jane is just the most awesome place that you can go on a motorcycle or car. It has lots of curvy Roads and 90 degree turns as far as a nice country getaway it rocks.

Trey Massingill

Excellent trail system! Always well maintained.

James Catalano

Wonderful state park worth the drive if you’re from out of town. Hit the visitor center first to be greeted by friendly staff that will point you to the best spots. Highly recommend the longer trails if you can time it right. We went in late December and it wasn’t crowded.

Tessa Lighty

Gorgeous. Didn't expect that from Arkansas! The hiking trails were great and the lodge was beautiful. I was dissappointed the pool wasn't open yet.

Brett Deaton

A favorite place to camp each year. A must see attraction if you are able.

Kimberlyn Reetz

We came here for the afternoon on the recommendation of our AirBnb hosts in Hot Springs. While it was a bit of a drive, the gorgeous views, well marked, fun trails were well worth it. We ate at the lodge. The view is fantastic. The architecture and decor fit right in with the surroundings. The wait staff is super friendly and helpful. It's very clean. The food was only average but we were hungry and it was fine. We absolutely loved both Cedar Falls and Bear Creek trails. Wasn't at all crowded and though we did see some trash, the park clearly tries to keep things cleaned up. Fun afternoon! Looks like the park has cabins and some Nice swimming pools and activities for those staying longer. Great place for a family.

Average Joe

Nice trails and some open cliff side views. Campsites are close together. I think it was site 73 that looked like a winner.

Connor Cheramie

Awesome. Way more than your average thought of a "state park." So much to do and see.

Tina Raine

Beautiful and quiet. Lots of trails and sights

Pam Kirkland

Camped here in a tent. Loved it! Such a beautiful park! Lots of trails with beautiful scenery!!

Greg inConway

Nice park. Awesome cabins and some are dog friendly. Good amount of easy trails. Beautiful overlooks of the Ozark Hills and Arkansas River. Careful, some cliffs, especially around the cabins are very steep and high... there are no guard rails or fencing. You will die if falling off the overlook cliffs around the cabins. 5 STARS for Petit Jean State Park . ZERO STARS for that horrible Fudge Shop right outside the park.

Jennifer Bird

Petit Jean State Park is beautiful, and the views are amazing! The staff working at the boat dock we're super friendly as were the dining staff at the lodge. We stayed for two nights and no one refreshed our towels or linens even though I saw the maid service on our floor. The desk staff at the lodge was not-so-friendly, and they almost seemed put out when asked for fresh towels.

Tom W.

Extremely scenic area. Dog friendly. Good for all ages. Some trails are more difficult than others and require stamina and agility. Can be crowded at times but worth it. Definitely worth seeing.

Mayilvanan

It's beautiful park with beautiful lake. It has many trails. We stayed in Mother lodge and it was awesome which is very close to the beautiful mountains, trees and nature. We loved the boating in the lake. We went in a summer long weekend. There was not too rush. There are many tails one can enjoy. Stay was comfortable.

Jennifer Brothers

I work here. Awesome employer, awesome place to be

Karen Cornwell

Lots of areas to explore, even for us old people, and beautiful scenery. Well kept. Places to get out of the heat. New construction happening. Can't wait to see the finished areas.

arpit lasod

This place is awesome. Scenic view with good trails. Biking is one of the options you can do. Its fun going place with your family and friends.

Donshe' Simmons

My family had an amazing time. Went with no expectations and wound up being amazed. Beautiful sights. It's a must see.

Donna McClintock

Beautiful place had a wonderful pavilion to have reunion.

Oscar Nuñez

We got an overlook of the Arkansas River and took a visit to Cedar Falls, taking the challenging but rewarding 2 mile trail. They are both very photogenic and almost always promise beautiful family memories. You will sweat during the fall/spring/summer. Here are some pictures, but even then they don't do it justice.

Cody Bolt

I love sitting at the gravesite and overlook. Beautiful place.

betsy orme

Petit Jean is just a wonderful state park! Our family loves it and have gone many times. With lots of sites, a variety of great trails, a great sunset overlook, friendly staff, and many other amenities, it's a peaceful retreat on top of the plateau, whether alone or with a group. It's a gem!

Maria Rosenberg

What an absolutely beautiful state park. We will definitely be back to explore further so CE we ran out of time.

Jennifer Smith

beautiful.. would love to go back in the fall & see all tje colors

Andrea

Nice hike. My fiance and I got to see a lot of small waterfalls.

Kristina West

Beautiful. I keep coming back for more views.

Haley Avery

An absolute gem of a park. Afford yourself several days or several trips to really get to see everything! The trails are some of the best I've ever been on, and the campsites are clean and comfortable. The staff are some of the coolest and friendliest people I've ever met. This should be on everyone's list!

Adam Sargent

Loop A was fantastic. Huge pull through sites that are generously spaced so you aren't right on top of your neighbor.

Judianne Doyle

Loved it! SO hot in the middle of summer, of course. More opportunities to get wet would be amazing. GREAT hiking trails, horse back-riding, fishing, scenery.

Donna Talbott

Very clean. Spacious, level RV sites. Wide variety of activities not expected in a state park. Hiking trails, long and short, with lovely vistas, offer varied levels of difficulty. And the lodge has excellent service and good food. Reasons for not perfect score: *Though the swimming pool closure confused us, and had it been open as it stated on the door, I'd up it 1/2 star. *Long phone wait; line is always busy....another 1/2 star deduction as we tried calling 17 times in 2 days. Always busy, so plan ahead. That said, this park is worth a visit. The staff is friendly, buildings gleam with cleanliness, and scenery is spectacular.

Marquesa Jackson

I’ve been coming from Houston Texas for our Labor Day Family Reunion every year since I was a baby. I’m 30. I go out of my way to come to the beautiful hidden gem in Arkansas. My family is from the state. But I’ve always lived in Texas, Arkansas is truly magical. Petit Jean couldn’t be any better. The lodge is gorgeous. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. And that’s never changed, and like I said we invade this place Labor Day weekend, and they are always so helpful!!The view is amazing, the trails are a perfect length, with the payoff of a waterfall to gaze at when you reached your destination. There are also so many secret hidden spots you can find all around the grounds. I love it. I love Petit Jean, it’s worth the drive up the Mountain.

Sue T

Gorgeous views. Great trails. Delicious hearty food at Mather Lodge. Excellent, cheerful workers. Note: for best views of waterfall visit in Spring or after Autumn/Winter rains.

Same Old Me

I absolutely love this place and the festivities that they throw. It was a great time for my family and friends. My kids love being on a mountain for the first time. I grew up around this area and it is just nice to come back to here ever so often and just enjoy the beauty that this place has to offer!

Ken More

The cabins are worth about 1/2 the price. 1 folding chair to sit on, refrigerator frozen over so bad I couldn't get the freezer door open. Maids are noisy and gabby about how nasty the previous guests were. Bed unstable. No phone, no wifi. Sort of a cabin, but really just a sleeping cottage built from wood. Drive on.

LouAnn Brown

The park was really nice good family area

Taylor DeCastro

We had a lovely time here. The park was incredibly clean, well maintained, and ultimately - a much needed day outside. Pet friendly too!

Lisa Rohlman

Spent the day here with my Grandson. He said it was the best day Ever!

Angel viveiros

Very Godly environment you can feel the Lord's presence probably because we got a lot of people praying

Jordan Karasek

Loved spending the day here with friends. Cooking out, hiking, and letting the kids play.

Danny Berger

Beautiful views and a great experience. The trail to the waterfall is moderately difficult, but doable for most people. We had three children with us and they were able to make the trek down and back. We were slower than just about everyone on the trail. Thankfully there were enough places to stop along the trail to let others pass. There is a restaurant and gift shop with well maintained restroom facilities at the top before starting the trail. There are also cabins available, but we did not stay onsite.

Joseph Hill

Lots great views some trails easer others but definitely worth the effort !

Marlys Ailts

Beautiful park! We really enjoyed the hiking trails - especially Cedar Falls Trail and Rock House Cave Trail. (We didn't have time to do Seven Hollows Trail). Great campground with spacious sites and lots of shade. (Campground A does not have as much shade as the others, but has beautiful lake views). Very helpful staff at the visitor's center! We had to extend our visit to have repairs made to our tow vehicle, and the campground was fully booked for the weekend. The staff found us a camping spot until our vehicle was fixed.

Alan Wellesley

By far our favorite state park, and I'm not just talking about in Arkansas! Great hiking trails, scenic overlooks, and excellent campgrounds! Also a nice lodge and great restaurant as well.

Nathan Van Wie

Beautiful place. Very unique topography and awesome hiking.

Miles Lafferty

Petit Jean has the most beautiful hiking trails in Arkansas, and some of the most amazing views. My wife and I had our engagement photos taken on a few of the different trails. We love visiting here!

Damon Henke

Amazing place with incredible geography. One of the best waterfalls in Arkansas

Dominick Ohara

Yes, Yes, Yes! This is the most beautiful State Park. The Cedar Falls Overlook is beautiful and the hikes are amazing. Have bite to eat in the pretty lodge or hang out on Lake Bailey. My family looks forward to going here every year.

Dave Thomas

This is one of my favorite Arkansas State Parks. Cedar Creek Falls is spectacular, and hiking trails abound. The lodge has reasonable rates, and the campgrounds are clean and not too close together.

Randy Burns

Very Very nice state park. Highly recommended as a must see.

Judith Isaac

Enjoyed hiking with my granddaughter and husband. Then eating at Mather lodge.

Alan Dives World

Visit the lodge, has an awesome view, then hike behind it to get to the waterfall. Wear decent shoes, bring water and you’ll be set!

Rick Sparks

Loved everything about this park. Well kept campsites, several with full hook ups on the lake. Lots of great hiking and nature trails.

Terri Cowley Lynch

I would recommend this beautiful place to anyone and everyone. It is so nice and well kept. Georgeous scenery!

Brenda Morris

It was rainy but at least a little cooler. Watch out for the construction at the lookout and visitors center but still lots of good hiking.

Bills and Gills

Large fishing lake ..great for lazy kayaking as well... nice well maintained shoreline... great camping spots too.

Michael Perry

Had an amazing hike and many trails also. Very cool over look. Definitely a must.

Anthony Dale

One of the better parks in the state. Lots of good trails for hiking. People just need to quit throwing their trash on the trails.

Nathan Yaeger

Loved it here, beautiful park with nice hiking trails. The grounds and bathrooms were very clean, the staff was extremely nice. The lake is a very nice lake, they allow boats with motors up to 10 HP. All around great experience.

Eric Amick

Tons of outdoor activities ranging from leisurely strolls to strenuous hikes. Restaurant and gift shop on-site. Ranger-led hikes and activities are fun for the whole family. The cabins are clean and maintained well. We've stayed at several parks in several states and this is one of the best!

Erin Nation

Absolutely stunning! Can't wait to go back this fall when it's a bit cooler to hike and camp

Adam Hill

Beautiful canyon with interesting geology on a mountain overlooking the Arkansas River. We went in July and it was hot and humid, take lots of water if you take any of the great hikes.

Shawn

Absolutely Amazing!!! HUGE.....Voted one of the top 10 parks. They have everything.Even the restaurant at the lodge is rated 4.5 Stars. Great food great views. Amazing RV spots.

Katherine Barker

Trying to get in all the hiking trails! So many to view! Love the area having a blast :-)

Heather Roberts

We always have a marvelous time at this well kept & diverse park. Today we had a fantastic event at pavilion B & it was a great place to hold our event. Clean restrooms & facility.

Carla Lesley

We go to petit jean state park several times a year. Never disappoints! We camp with our grand kids and go to two car shows a year there. The trails are our favorite

Jared VanSickle

This place has many things to offer. Great hikes, lake, dam and a waterfall. The hike to the waterfall can be strenuous on the way back up, bring plenty of water. There is also a great restaurant with an amazing view. Tons of camping spots for tents and campers.

Mat Kelley

Amazing views, wasn't crouded when I went, there are trails fit for kids all the way up to experienced hikers.

Deborah Morris

Loved our buyers and fries. Friendly waitress and greeter.

Tim Thompson

Lovely views. Lodge is interesting

It's me Miah

I've been here 3 times and I have enjoyed every time! Petit Jean is beautiful and one of my favorite parks

Stacey Q

Out of 30+ states I loved this one the most this park is very tranquil and well maintained

Brandi Morgan

Such a beautiful state park. The raod up can be a bit hairy for a novice pulling a trailer but once you get past the tight curve it's not bad. The park itself is just breathtaking! Our RV spot was spacious and not at all close to other campers (which we prefer). We had full hookups so we didn't use their facilities. The welcome center has a few items should you need something in a pinch. We can't wait to go back!

Samantha Strickland

My friends and I had a great time at Petit Jean State Park. We stayed in the lodge, and will hopefully rent a cabin next time. The hikes were wonderful, and it was an overall great experience. The only complaint I have is with the Mather Lodge Restaurant. My friends and I had been on the road all day, and we stopped at the Lodge to have a few drinks and catch up during the early evening. We ordered one round of drinks. When the server delivered them, he asked if we would be ordering any food. We let him know that we had already eaten. When he came back to check on us, we each ordered one more round, and he mentioned his manager was concerned that we were not eating and consuming that amount of alcohol. We thought it was a little odd seeing as we each only had two drinks with the intention of not ordering any more. The next time he came to check on us we requested our tabs. He took the opportunity to tell us that he was happy we were not ordering anything else because he was cutting us off. We thought it was very rude for him to bring this to our attention when we were not interested in another round to begin with. It's a family environment and we all understand that very well. The table of children adjacent to us was louder than we were. We were not rambunctious, rude, or intoxicated. We had a great stay and enjoyed some beautiful views, but our experience at the restaurant made us find breakfast elsewhere the next morning. The server made us uncomfortable for no reason, and we felt his judgement abrasive.

John Lovell

This is an amazing place to visit. There is a great place to stop and eat.even if your not staying in the park.

Nicole Gable

What other way to enjoy some time with family and friends than with the great outdoors? Very clean park. Lots to do from hiking to camping and swimming.

memecake factory

It's fun, most trails aren't animal friendly so domt bring your pets

Pamela Graham

So much beauty! Hiking trails are awesome. The views are breathtaking! Nice, clean bathrooms. You can camp, although we didn't. Nice pool(s), two of them.

John Mockabee

Great place with some small easy to walk trails. Wonderful views!¡!

Savannah C

Nature = Serenity. There is an old beautiful abandoned cabin here.

Baxter Billiot

Take the short hike to the waterfall. Get there early before the crowds peak at lunch time. The trail is very well maintained and children over age 5 should have no issue. I also seen seniors making the hike no problem

Izzy Randomizeder

Petit Jean is absolutely gorgeous and a wonderful place to go, whether you go to hike, sight see, or camp this is a hidden gem to see!

Eula Roland

A great Arkansas State Park! Check campsites length on website. Saw some long rigs, but climb to get here is a little tricky in parts. Love the Rock House Cave, waterfall & antique car museum.

Delinda Redd

This place has good hiking trails and a very pretty view

Tony G

Love, love, love this place...We keep coming back every year, stayed in the cabin over looking the valley. The open room concept and separate bedroom makes the cabin look and feel larger than expected The first day we hiked down to the falls and it was a spectacular down hill walk, moderate hike with a few spots that required navigation over slippery rocks and slopes. The hike back up hill was a different story, but still worth the time. There are many other hiking trails throughout the park and most are easy. The lodge has a gorgeous fireplace, so be sure to visit late fall, the fire should be roaring. The restaurant at the lodge has the best valley view I've ever seen, try to get a seat during sunset...its amazing! Hope you enjoyed this review, click like!

Tricia Schmidt-Thompson

Such a beautiful place! I'm almost 45, and have visited Petit Jean since I was a kid, and it never gets boring (albeit, droughts make the grottoes and waterfall much less attractive, so we avoid going during those times). The many trails are gorgeous, and most are not too strenuous (for us with physical limitations). Whether you hike to the bottom of the waterfall, or to the top, the journey to the destination, is more than worth the effort. The history/stories, trails, views, grottoes, caves, waterfalls, rock formations, natural wonders, man made scenery, all makes for a relaxing, unforgettable, perfect experience.

Carol Haywood

Love this Arkansas State Park. It rained the 2 days we were there in May but it looks like there is lots to do in the summer with fishing, a swimming pool, sports field, lots of hiking. Great campgrounds. We were in campground D which has very nice sites in the woods, although best for tents and shorter campers. Our trailer is 23 feet and was tight in a short arc pull through. Campground C is in the woods but more populated when we were there. Campground B is more open and closer to the park road. Campground A is more open with paved Pads and looks good for larger rigs. The Bath House was heated (50 degree wet weather), clean and basic. Had to push button in shower for 20 seconds of water but it was nice and strong and warm. So keep pushing the button.

Paula Stapleton

Beautiful place to walk, hike, picnic, swim, and spend a day or a week with your family. Beautiful and peaceful, it's a nice getaway. It's a great place to disconnect and spend the day. Pool has a lifeguard, slide and diving board.

Dale Hargett

Real shady real quiet friendly people nice roads nice Lots has electricity and water on every site

Jessica Grgurich

This really is a beautiful area with a touching story. Sat on the rocky overlook for quite awhile with the kids, when it's not 100 degrees outside will come back and explore the trails

John Garrard

A great trail to hike to see the waterfall. Everything is well maintained and clean.

Kim vien

Amazingly beautiful! The best state park I've been to!

billy burgess

Well worth the visit. Also beautiful restaurant with view

Lucas Dyer

There is so much to see, beautiful scenery, dog friendly, great for camping, and hiking, so enjoyable.

Wesley Wiggins

Amazing views of river valley. Although the waterfall was just a trickle the hike was still amazing!!!

Kelly Kundert

Was a wonderful State Park. Beautiful views & restaurant was AMAZING!! And prices very reasonable. My husband got the Chicken fried steak, and it took up the entire plate!! And the taste was unbelievable!!

Retha Davis

I love going to Petit Jean every summer, my grandson goes to camp there so we always walk around to see the waterfall. This year we went the other side and visited the grave of Petit Jean and he read the history of her & how the mountain got its name.

Sherree Moran

It has such a great history & the views from the top are spectacular! I'm not going to tell you about the cool history, you need to go there and read about it plus enjoy the nature. They also have horse trail rides available!!

Dennis Simpson

Petit Jean State is one of the hidden Treasures of Arkansas... If it were a national park it would rank in the top 10 to 25 the unexcelled beauty the peace and quiet and the solitude... Simply cannot it is an extraordinary place that should not be missed

Justin Smith

Very nice place to camp and hike. The water fall was nice and the trails are very scenic.

Dan Taylor

Only in AR can you be working and pull over to take in some of what nature has to offer.

Carol Lynn

It's very beautiful and you can see for miles!!!

Evan Allen

Well maintained and beautiful park. It's a place you can go to get away from the city and it's not too far of a drive. Good overlooks and good food. I had some pork chops.

Michael Freeling

Beautiful place to see. Full of Arkansas history

Fred Flintstone

I love Petit Jean . When I become a Bazillionare , I'm gonna buy the mountain.

Zach Melder

One of the best overall hikes in Arkansas. Definitely recommend. Completed several times with different friends.

Victor Lopez

Very beautiful for a family outing. Would recommend

kara banera

Beautiful place to hike, camp, enjoy your life.

Ashley J

Lovely park the locals visit regularly. Worth spending time here if you are passing through. If you have very little time it is still worth the drive to go to the overlook and see the grave of Petit Jean. If you have a whole day, go to Mather Lodge and visit the trails. <3

Garry Clubb

Friendliest eatery I have been to lately. Beautiful view, good food

Steven Holland

Love this State Park. Highly recommend cabins 1 thru 17, all overlook a cliff and feel secluded. Trails are great, food in the lodge is good, but a little overpriced. Trailheads are often loose gravel or sand parking lots. Do not recommend taking a motorcycle in, we had to pass on 2 hikes because I was concerned about the bike falling over.

Daryl Wells

Been there several times before, and it's still as pretty as it was the first time we visited.

johnny aiken

my only gripe was the pool is closed during the weekdays now. website makes no mention of it. that’s valuable info, as you can’t swim in the lake or waterfall here. gorgeous park, challenging hiking trails and not crowded this time of year (during the week).

Jodie Gaynor

Amazing all the way around! Thank you for making my birthday the best weekend ever! (After my truck catching fire with my dog papers) The 3 of us had a wonderful time and my steak cooked to perfection and pb cake was off the chain!!

Barnabas A. Christian

This state park is a Hidden Gem amongst all the beauty in the natural state. I'm not a hiker at all, but these trails behind the lodge Have a magnetic pull on your senses. Say hi to Park Ranger "Uncle Josh.... Truly the mountain man ambassador!

Anita Kingree

We visited Petit Jean State Park in December. We stayed in the lodge two nights, and did the 12 mile hike one day and a shorter hike down to a waterfall the second day. The waterfall was just a small trickle on this day, because it was the dry season. The 12 mile hike was great, especially if you want some conditioning! The incline/elevation was always changing. We got a great workout. The lodge was really cozy. The restaurant had great food, and our room was clean. I loved the historic architecture of the building. On our final day we stopped at the overlook just to see the views. I would definitely recommend this place!

Will Spoonsly

Was a very nice place to visit. Came from California, and the view was amazing.

Robotic Crafter

Well even after being so sore after 4 hours of strenuous hiking (mostly because I'm out of shape and need more potassium) this place is absolutely amazing! The scenery is beautiful and it is a truly unique place rich in Arkansas history. I don't know if I'll be coming back though, at least until I'm in better shape, lol. Maybe just for camping but definitely come if you can.

jennifer grisham

It's a beautiful park with lots of long and spiritually satisfying trails. One of those trails lands you at Cedar Falls, which is breathtaking.

This park is always a joy. When we have out of state or out of country visitors, we always try to make time to go to Petit Jean. We have taken many family portraits there, attended weddings, and learned at photography seminars in the different locations at Petit Jean. I love that they have many wheelchair accessible scenic points and also handicapped structures cabins.
