This Park is included in the category of National forest.
Look. This place is great. It's near-by a lot of NWA towns and you can really get the full out doors experience with tons of scenic views
Nice place. But waterfalls not big if not much rains.
Time seems to stand still when it comes to our natural surroundings.
An amazing and awesome place. Definitely a must visit at least once in a lifetime. Lush, green and an adventure. We really enjoyed ourselves.
Beautiful, natural, litter free, and well managed! It definitely gives Arkansas it's "natural state" name some credit!
Beautiful. A great drive off the major highway route.
One of our state's many beauties.
Beautiful scenery and a pleasant drive.
experience the outdoors in some of the best places remotely close
Nice. Very scenic.must see it for yourself!
I If I could live out here I would. It is SO beautiful. Like, magically, beautiful. My husband and I have gone out there quite a few times over the years and we always have a fantastic time. The parks and campgrounds are well taken care of. There are quite a lot of trails that are poorly marked, so if you're doing serious hiking get a map. However there are plenty of well marked trails. We don't ever have cell service out there, so it can be easy to get turned around while driving. The people out there are always so nice. We spent a little bit of time in Jasper one year, there is a very cool antique store there run by good people.
The water and the peace and quiet One of God's best gift
We love going and doing a lot of activities on the lake.
It is so beautiful up in the mountains. Our cabin slept 9 to 10. The 9 of us were quite comfortable. There is a fully stocked kitchen (with coffee pot) and they bring fresh towels and take the trash daily if needed. There is a plethora of wild life around. We saw humming birds, ring necked pheasants, blue tailed skinks, stick bugs, wild roosters, and heard elks. The mountains look like a Bob Ross painting come to life full of happy trees. There is a nearby grocery store, nearby caves to explore, and a cute dinner- Daisy Queen celebrating its 50th anniversary nearby. It's a trip you'll love!
I love Ozark national Forest. I've spent hours and hours in the forest and never get bored. There are plenty of top notch campsites to set up camp at. If you like to hike there are hundreds of miles of trails that will not disappoint. Plenty of waterfalls to keep you busy as well. Grab Tim ernsts books on waterfalls and the Ozarks if you want a good resource on hikes
Nature at it finest. We walked and enjoy everything we could. The views were amazing and just being able to smell/breath natural fresh air made the trip worth it.
Visited the folk center and the caverns. Beautiful sights. Definitely suggest checking them out.
Beautiful countryside. With a 18 wheeler a very busy day. Trip from Marshall, Mo. to Russellville, Ar.makes it a long 308 miles. Do recommend it for vacationers, retirees, but not 18 wheelers even though trucks are allowed on AR7.
Beautiful landscape. Crystal clear water. Make sure you bring plenty of insect repellent. The ticks are plentiful.
Go here u won't regret it
I live close to here so this happens every time I drive through it but it is nice it is real pretty
The best place to get your car fixed I love it
It was a nice get away, the water felt amazing and they have plenty of wood to burn
This some of the most beautiful country anywhere. The hills and the dense forests are amazing.
I love these woods.
Our family goes RZR riding, it is beautiful.
Beautiful, Amazing, God's work. My favorite place to be. Always Good times.
A very beautiful and quiet place to go and get your head right. Definitely worth the trip
I always love visiting this area. Its beautiful any time of year
Passed thru on my way to ride the Pig Trail, nice forest
God didn't make the world beautiful so we could stare at our phones all day! He made it for us to go out and enjoy it! Put your phone down and enjoy nature at this national forest! You aren't missing a thing and your soul will love you for it!
The Ozark Mountains. Home sweet home.
Love state and national forests.
Trails are maintained by the Ozark Senic Hiking trails association with the national forest service in support. Great to visit, a wonderful time. Be aware running on these is difficult and may become hazardous without great care. Note, I could not find the trailhead crossing CR 5550 in Johnson County.
A lot of the hiking trails are not very well known unless you are looking for them specifically so the hikes are peaceful and clutter free.
Nice shrubbery. Running water. Overhead lighting. Rustic decor. 12/10 would recommend.
Gorgeous hike. Took 3 kids(ages 10,9, and 6) and they all managed pretty well.
It's green! It's lush! It's beautiful! Get out there and enjoy the most amazing outdoor areas of Arkansas! (Please do not hinder traffic on the Pig Trail though...)
This is THE place to go if you have a long weekend available. My family has had a great experience playing in two different waterfall areas (Falling Water Falls and Haw Creek Falls) and hiking the Pedestal Rock trail. We took lots of pictures and really enjoyed being on the natural mountainous terrain. We absolutely loved coming here and will definitely be back.
For my purpose, photography, this is an excellent playground. There are county road leading to hills, sharp turns, open sky and trees all over. There are great lake access points, unlike some places where commercialism has every inch of shoreline occupied. There are enough business scattered around to keep the gas tank full and the same with the stomach. Can't wait until the fall colors hit.
Drop dead gorgus. Really this is a great spot for anyone look for some serious scenic views and hike. Less showy than a lot of other places. Tiny towns and off the beaten path. Great climbing spots too! Have fun!
This part of the national Forest in northern Crawford county is an absolutely beautiful. We spent the afternoon driving around the rural dirt roads enjoying the amazing scenery. If you are not use to the area the old dirt roads are fairly rough and bumpy with some spots that you might not be able to drive faster than what you would in a parking lot. So be prepared for a long slow ride.
I always enjoy the forest. Normally, I'm sitting in a tree in pitch dark an hour before sunup. I love to witness the woods wake up. The finches that live in the leaves on the ground. The squirrels, the ground chipmunks, and an occasional turkey. Today I got to watch a red tailed hawk hunt. Awesome
Go in the morning! Gets busier on the weekends after 11am so more peaceful prior. Also the roads are steeper to get up. I was glad I had a Camry at the time because my Kia Rio would've struggled. Gorgeous views though and some easier trails with amazing views.
Lovely scenery. A great place for family fun.
Awesome place to escape and see some scenery and wildlife. Awesome hunting grounds killed many deer and countless squirrels and turkey over the years.
I enjoyed the scenery.
Paradise in the natural state. Responsibly managed to preserve the natural beauty but still plenty of hiking trails.
Beautiful landscape and very peaceful. Always be careful of certain wildlife, but enjoy the beautiful outdoors.
Love the $6 meal deal. Very affordable.
Loved the place especially Byrds Adventure Center
Ozarks are an amazing place to visit. Whether you're going for a hike or going four wheeling you will find there are amazing spots off grid. You just have to get out there and explore.
great views and space for peacefulness
Beautiful land, with twisty turny roads and scenic views.
Beautiful scenery. Nice campground. Multiple activity options. Will definitely be back.
Fun trails and beautiful sights!
Beautiful scenery ,wonderful location , and Blissful get away for camping, floating the Buffalo River. Great place that my family friends, and I gotten to enjoy and relax for the weekend. Was really surprised at beautiful views. The float could had been a bit longer but all together a grand trip!
The ticks were terrible. Beautiful views, but the tick removal took over 3 hours. We found almost 100 ticks between 2 people and 2 dogs.
Beautiful country to drive through
Beautiful woods and hilly Terrain. We're Jeepin it.
One beautiful outlooks in Arkansas.
Beautiful, glorious, wonderful great place to spend the day or weekend. So many activities here. For the most part it seems as though people respect the woods and keep it clean. Streams are clean and clear. The four wheeler paths are marked varied for levels, hiking and camping. If you love the outdoors but can't travel far... this is the place.
Great national forest. Plenty too see and experience. Lots of nice tread lightly jeep trails. Beautiful campgrounds.
Some of the most beautiful waterfalls and cave systems I have ever seen. So secluded and untouched, its almost a step back in time.
Our family did the discovery trail, with a 6yr old. It was very educational for all of us. A must see in person kind of thing. Pictures don't do it justice!
So beautiful. Lots of lush green trees and grass with rolling hills.
Such a beautiful forest with many state park and lots of activities that one can keep go on. The roads were good to all the places. But you many not get a cellular signal. so make sure to download the maps before you plan.
Camp sites and county roads are horrible. Trails need to be cleared. The $3.00 fee is reasonable.... But the resent proposal for a $10. Fee is ridiculous considering the overall condition of the trails camp sites, roads, and the only one (1) shared with no locks restroom. Not a single trash can for the whole area.
I saw 23 deer spread out through it at 4 am. I love deer gauntlets on my bike...wearing my cheap sunglasses!
Great place for riding ATV's. An viewing wildlife an just nature. Trails are in need of maintaining.
So green, beautiful, and peaceful. Great hikes too!!
Nice scenery, but ticks galore. My wife and I took our two dogs on a hike on the White River Bluff Loop. By the time we were 1.5 miles into the hike, we had removed 3 ticks from the two humans (who both had a generous spray of DEET) and 6 ticks from the dogs. We decided to turn around. By the time we got back to the car (a total of a 3 mile hike), the dogs were covered in ticks. We stopped counting after reaching sixty ticks removed from them, but I estimate we removed between 90 and 100 ticks from the dogs plus another 10 ticks from the two humans.
Why I love this place... well, it's just beautiful ...
How can you improve on Gods perfection? Just gorgeous
Good place to Camp visit just drive through.
One of the most beautiful places on earth
Drive down 16 west everyday it's beautifull with all the rain go look
Beautiful Mountain and Forest, We camped at the Mulberry Mountain Trials RV park. Nice spot to ride ATV's & UTV's, Great trails, the park was clean and well kept the Staff was friend and helpful. Downside is it at the top of the mountain very steep and curvy road to the top be sure your brakes are in good working order on both your vehicle and camper.
It's still an open peaceful place that is not hopefully going to be developed like all the places I used to go progress they say my opinion is that it's just good ole greed and how much they can make. Back to what is awesome is you can see wildlife as it once was
Very big area with many gravel roads and beautiful scenery. We saw many deer, a Turkey, turtles and other wildlife. The hiking trails are wonderful but the trailheads are not well marked so there is a search involved. But well worth it.
Just absolutely beautiful and very well kept
It was okay, seen better
It is so beautiful out there
This area is absolutely beautiful! The landscape is cut with lovely rivers and creeks. Majestic waterfalls of all shapes and sizes. The people that visit and live in the area are always polite and willing to help. This area is filled with hospitality that will keep you coming back for more!
It's awesome! I have lived in the Ozark National Forest all of my life. There's no place like home.
One of the many beautiful places to visit in Arkansas. Warm, humid time of year for us to visit. Always be prepared for ticks and mosquitoes. Hike with water and enjoy the Ozarks.
Traveled around white rock mountain, shores lake, cass, ozark part of the forest. Just beautiful. Lots of great hiking trails, forest roads and water falls to visit. Waters were all clean and flowing and feeat to take a dip or fish.
Great area to get away from everything. Lot's of hiking, hunting, and exploring to be done in Ozark National Forest.
Nice hike. Peaceful, we never saw another person in the three and half hours we took
Lovely place at the picnic area with the river that flows nearly all the way around and a wonderful place to wade around in it.
A beautiful forest with lots of beautiful scenery and great hiking trails.
We drove down Hwy 123 to Hwy 7 and then home. We will come back to explore some weekend soon. It's beautiful.
This is what all of Arkansas should be. It is certainty what I expected to come to after 21 years of traveling the world for the military. There is not really a bad time to go to the ozarks, always something to do, always a recharging experience. I fully expect to spend as much time as I have left in the world, traveling and enjoying the ozarks
How do you rate a tree? I'm gonna leaf that one alone. 10/10 beautiful
Beautiful landscape in NW Arkansas!
Live in the southern part so know very well. Beautiful most times of the year. Winters can be harsh, hot and humid summers.
This place is unreal. Amazing camping experience.
Beautiful area, family loves camping and exploring
Very pleased. We had breakfast and may I suggest that if you're not a big eater ask the portion size. The omalet was good but came with more than I could eat so me and my husband shared.
I live just outside the National Forest and am grateful. This is a very beautiful part of our wonderful country. There are so many areas to explore. You will love it.
Visited a friends cabin. What an amazing view. The water is usually more clear but with all the rain it's been a little muddy.
The Ozarks area beautiful, example of what this part of the country has to offer in the way of nature. There are some great sites and trails to explore.
The trails are great. Many to choose from and the parking is hugh, plenty for bigger groups. Trails could be marked better but I understand they are cutting more trails and appreciate the park services interest in creating new trails. New maps can be done later. Can't wait to go again with our friends.
These guys do a really good job!
Such a beautiful drive with my LOVE !!!
The views on our hike were AMAZING. However, the ticks are really bad. Between myself, my husband, and the 2 dogs we had almost 100 ticks. Yes the dogs are on medicine. Took over 3 hours to find them all (or at least I hope all of them). So next time I'll pass
Beautiful scenery with lots of rivers and caves to explore
So many beautiful places to visit. The trees in the fall are breath taking.
Anyone looking to do some backing will find the Ozark Highlands Trail well worth. Day and weekend warriors with find hundreds of amazing places.
Huge forest with tons of incredible trails! Campsites are well maintained and trails are clearly marked. Avenza Maps app was super helpful to us.
Beautiful. Better than Lothlórien Forrest
Awesome panoramic scenery while driving through! Lush trees with scenes of the valley far below while driving or stopping at scenic overlooks!
Love it here! It's so beautiful, I don't want to go home.
Had a great time.
My happy place Where I am at peace and happy.
Pig trail is an awesome ride
Come here once a year for a family reunion. It is so beautiful here, the view to where I am staying at a cousin's house is so amazing pictures really don't do it justice.
GORGEOUS However Fix the dang roads!! HORRIFIC to drive bumpy doesn't begin to describe after driving and having to go to the er because it was that bad and a back injury to boot. The roads through the scenic route are just horrible. Shame on DOT that ride is beautiful HOWEVER my ATTY is getting called tomorrow because I'm not paying for the bills I incurred because DOT CAN'T MAINTAIN THE ROADS. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. BUT THE FOREST WAS GORGEOUS
Me and my boyfriend took the kids to camp and were already planning another trip back in my kids words it was awesome
A peaceful, beautiful place to unwind! A great way to unplug from society!
Amazing view and a great vacation spot will definitely take my family many more times in the years to come
Lived in this area for 10 years. It's beautiful country. Nice park area with plenty of parking.
Beautiful area. So scenic. And in the fall the colors are awesome
Absolutely beautiful country here. A friend brought me to show me some mountain bike trails. Its very well built and tons of gorgeous views. I was told the Walton's money is funding the project, and more trails are coming. If you have the time its an awesome hike or ride. I have been told that there are patches of privately owned land throughout it, so stick to the trails and look for posted signs.
Best place ever to visit. Lots of wild life and beautiful waterfalls and great hiking and camping. Fun for all ages.
Great place to enjoy the outdoors for all ages. When visiting nature don't bring plastic. Respect and Protect it!!
Beautiful. My happy place. It amazes me how clear the streams and pools are. Far clearer than any ocean water.
Beautiful wild rustic scenic especially in the fall. Love the drive! There are miles and miles of roads and trails to explore, plus a couple of good sized lakes. In the fall the colors are just spectacular! Common wildlife seen here are all the forest upright perching birds, wild turkey, red and great squirrels, flying squirrels, rabbits, many amphibians and reptiles
The view and natural beauty, the hidden streams , saw bears and an abundance of wild life.
A remarkable place. Miles of trails and back roads to explore. Clear water streams and creeks. Beautiful mixed forests. Nature at its finest.
If you like hiking perfect to explore.
Fun to ride trails in our UTV. Lots of spiders and stickbugs though.
Beautiful. So green and lush. Well maintained roadways.
Love to ride our side by side in national forest. Love nature. So serene!! So beautiful especially spring and fall
Definitely a must see. Nice trails with lodging options all around the area if you're not quite up to roughing it.
Since it joins up to my back yard, it's pretty great.
Its June and our weather has been amazing....70"s to low 80"s. Can't ask for more. Staying at a spacious Air-BnB called Country Mountain Retreat. What peaceful place to get away from the rat race of the city.
Good place for early morning hikes, during these hot days
I spent 10 days camping in the Ozark National Forest. Specifically at the Barkshed Recreation Area in May 2019. It was a really nice time, that was mostly quiet. I only had the campground 100% to myself for one night, but there were about 4-5 nights with only 1-2 others campers around. The weekends were somewhat busy, but I was there during peak season. I used Barkshed as a base camp to explore the area on my dual sport motorcycle. There are plenty of beautiful sights to see within a short ride from the campground. There are also many hiking trails in the nearby area including one trail that goes right through the campground. The Buffalo River is about a 35 minute ride away, so we had a chance to spend the day canoeing. All in all it’s a nice place to get away from the city, and it does feel remote, but it’s not too far away from necessities.
It's just a beautiful place
I love the Ozark national Forest. It is my happy place. Everytime I visit the stress of every day Life disappears.
Beautiful place and Kim was a great help. I so enjoyed my visit!
Just a beautiful place to camp or hike! Love the Ozarks!
Beautiful and fun, but most trails have become too rough for casual/family four wheeling and some too narrow for side by sides
Great place to relax. and get away from people.
There's nothing like the Ozarks for beauty and peace. We always come back from a trip to the Ozarks feeling refreshed. From hiking to see waterfalls to slowly driving by the elk herds, there's much to see and do.
I am lucky to live close to the Ozark-St Francis Nat'l Forest. We can be on a 4 wheeler trail in 15 mins & ride for hours through woods & spring feed creeks all the up to Mt. Magazine. We hike, kayak & camp in both the Ozark-Ouachita & Ozark-St Francis Nat'l Forest. You will enjoy every minute so get out & meet like minded people!
Luv It... Hav a
