It's one of my all time favorite places

Lovely forest, full of gorgeous crystals, and fresh spring water. Need I say more? Camping is all over the place and many are free.

Alex Stevenson

Nice place to destress and spend some time with friends or family.

Jose Powell

Beautiful untouched forests huge pines and oaks with branches blanket the sky above

Julie Evans

Extremely clean facilities and very accommodating when there was a misunderstanding with how many people on campsite. PLEASE DO NOT GO THE WRONG WAY. The park police actually do their jobs!! There are no donut shops close enough to apologize!

Tina .e

Very nice place.... Very clear water,clean... Hope to visit again!!

Roger Ruth

Outstanding. We have visited Hot Springs and the National Forest many, many times over the years but it seems like no matter how many times one goes there one always finds or sees something that you have never seen before. We will be going back very soon for there were things we wanted to do but "time" got in our way.

Matthew Adelman

Great place to escape the heat in Northwest Louisiana.

Janie Hawthorne

Ouachita National Forest is the absolute best place in the entire planet. I love getting out and going to explore. Any chance I get I'm going to be exploring this area. My family and friends and I have found so many beautiful places to just explore and enjoy to the fullest extent. There are so many beautiful things and critters out there.

Marshall Ogier

Beautiful lake for kayaking. We camped on one of the small islands for a couple nights. Also did some cliff jumping and found a rope swing. The staff at the visitor center were super friendly and helpful.

Michelle Oliver

We had the best time! It was out first experience and I will for sure be back even with kids

Kenneth Murphy

A beautiful location with lots of backroads and small towns. A great way to enjoy our beautiful country by car, foot, bike or air.

Donna Devine

It's beautiful and serene. I love the variety of birds! I've seen a bald eagle.

Robert Baldinell II

Hiked Eagle Rock Loop. Wife and four kids, ranging from 16 to 8, hiked the trail in three days. Beautiful. Be aware of tics. They are everywhere.

Samantha Back

Gorgeous, went fishing , had a picnic.. Nice little quiet stop

Cecil Hammerton

Very pretty place to share a romantic day or to have a fun outdoors experience. There is camping, lodging and plenty of opportunity to take advantage of the beautiful scenery. The downsides: There are deer that stray into the road as well as several sharp curves. One in particular has a concrete backstop and has claimed many victims over the years. When you see the signs for the sharp, steep grade curves ahead, PLEASE heed their warnings.

Juree McDaniel

I love to look at the mountains and take pictures at times

Karen Guyette

Get in touch with nature in this sweet spot

Jeff Troutt

Loved it. Beautiful. More like Colorado than Colorado. Talihena drive a must. Just beautiful.

Keith Sutton

There are literally millions of acres to explore in this outdoor wonderland where you can hike, camp, hunt, fish, watch wildlife and enjoy photography. Stretching from near Little Rock into Oklahoma, it's a treasure for all who enjoy nature.

H May

Beautiful place. Arkansas has done a fantastic job at preserving nature and I appreciate them for it. Very, very well-maintained with many hiking and sight-seeing opportunities.

Sam Perry

The surrounding park was great with a few locations to stop and eat with the family, walk the dog or go hiking. Overall and excellent location, be aware the tower itself is located up a steep series of step or by car a series of switch backs. I would recommend using a vehicle if you're aren't up for a fairly physical uphill walk.

Chris Kirkpatrick

Very awesome place. The water was low when I visited the lake. The forest consists of multiple species of trees and fowl. This is an awesome place to bird watch. I actually saw a few bald eagles there as well. This is a really good place to visit during the spring when the water levels or normal. The lake was really great for kayaking. Also, after viewing real estate prices in the area, this would be a very affordable place to retire.

Daniel Yang

Beautiful, especially on the trail. The rivers are clear and everything is lush and vibrant. The mist provided by the rivers creates a dynamic that enhances the scenary environment. However, the area is a bit dangerous when high into the mountains and fog rolls over.

Elaine Bowers

Beautiful. We love to go there. I wish it were closer to where we live so we could go more often. Nature at it's best.

Mark Blade Schultz

There were so many trees in this forest that I stopped naming then all after about twenty minutes. If you see You the Pine Tree, say "hi!". Love the Ouachita National Forest! So much fun to ride the bike through on a hot & humid Arkansas day!

JC

Beautiful. Went with friends who do a week long camp/trail ride annually. Ride right up to a little hole in the wall bar on private property right off a trail, in the middle of nowhere. Camp spots are very nice, each has good accommodations for your horses. The bathrooms/showers are super clean/nice. Everything is well maintained. Great place all around.

Trey Willis

Had a BRILLIANT slow drive on unsealed roads through the forest, but, our destination was really only for 4wd vehicle's and I wish there had of been some advice to that effect. Dirt track in a forest, not exactly what the Smart Car is designed for, was fun though ;)

Jenniffer Yarberry

If you love the woods, clear waters, hiking, biking, or hanging out at the beautiful lake, nothing is quite like it! Georgous!

Mark W

Peaceful and serene spot. Has the cleanest lake around.

Gidget Trobaugh

This is a beautiful place any time of the year. Beautiful scenery

Serena Evins

It is so beautiful make sure it's not closed due to rain though. It's fun, some hard stuff but it's all good with the right equipment.

Gary Riggins

This is one beautiful place to visit, would recommend it to anyone.

Nick Scurra

Very peaceful, take the time to see your gifts

kwadjo tillman

Beautiful, pitch the tent right on the water and hit the trails, full family restrooms at site A. Collect your own firewood the stroms have left plenty easy burning along the traila.

Carl Anderson

An amazing hidden gem of a lake and forest! Crystal clear waters, mineral digging, camping, hot baths, history, something for everyone. Looking forward to going back again and enjoying another relaxing vacation.

Thomas S

Surprisingly very foresty. The lake was great. Had our own private beach for a couple hours. Water was clear and warm.

Jason Hudson

Stayed at RIVER VIEW CABINS. It was perfect. We love it there. Clean friendly and right on the river.

Lisa Tomlin

Pure & simple

If you have time to roam the trails with some type of bear and mountain Lion protection

Jenny Mayo

The most beautiful place on Earth. It's called the natural state for a reason. People come here to return to their natural state.

Garrett Palmer

Being that it IS my backyard... I love it!! Gorgeous every direction you look...

Anthony Jennings-Freeze

Jack Creek. Absolutely amazing. Beautiful place with a couple places to jump from the rocks. Water is plenty deep in the middle. It also has a big pavilion with tables and chairs and a few trails that go through the woods.

jonathan mckinney

Hiking trails are over grown. Nice drive but no way to access false and lakes without a 4 wheeler. You would think you could walk to these places in the natural state.

Alethiea Woodard

Beautiful scenery but the trail is very windy and not much shade in areas.

Kenn Greene

The most wonderful backyard a person could ever want!

Vicki Black

Beautiful! Your motorcycle needs to ride the Talimena.

Owen Hawbaker

Beautiful drive along Oklahoma highway 1. The road is quaint and small (wouldn't want to drive in limited visibility or poor weather conditions). It winds through the forest and has pull offs to stop and admire the views. The road runs right along the crest of the mountains for some ways. A very relaxing and quiet drive.

Linda Purtell

Gorgeous place to visit. If you haven't been here you need to go it's amazing anytime of year

Anna Sales

Good fishing good camping and beautiful scenery..

Ben Anderson

Beautiful vistas, with a mediocre park and Lodge at the summit. Long drive, that is pretty. For my preference, the Mena Airport is a cool step into history as well. If you get a chance, research the airport and visit.

Lou Graham

If you enjoy solitude, digging for crystals or water sports or hiking, this is the place. The mountains hold many natural beauties and some of the cleanest water you'll find in the country. Isolated and yet close to Hot Springs so if you need to check into civilization, there are some great attractions, restaurants and a funky little downtown.

Steve Collins

Hiked the Eagle Rock trail. It was incredibly beautiful, but also much more strenuous than anticipated on the Western portion with a pack on. So many little waterfalls.

robert buckman

The food was amazing. The staff was super attentive, and just fun! The atmosphere is great! I recommend this restaurant to anyone, but make sure you're hungry!

Deborah Parker

Great road beautiful sites...lots of pull off plsces

Regena Wilks

So much to see!! This is a HUGE area and so very nice. I like the small mountains and huge lake! No shortage of things to do.

Michael McCoy

Eagle Rock Loop is an amazing place. There are a lot of water crossings so check water levels before heading out.

Sheila Thorn

Awesome! God's beauty of mountains and trail rides beyond the imagination. Love the difference trees and flowers Sprngs running over the rocks. Cool water and love to put my feet in.

Trip Hill

wendy Baros

Loved this place!!!! The trails were awesome. We stayed at Hansons Campground and it was easy access to this amazing forest. Only wished we could have stayed longer.

Brett Bowers

The views were amazing. Wish we could have stayed longer

Pam Parker

I am 52 yrs old and this has been a place my daddy started stopping at for us to stretch our legs and play as we were making the trip through the mountains since I was 5 years old. Us kids would ride in the back of the pickup truck as we traveled (back then it was not illigal to ride in the back of a pick up), and sure enough one of us 3 were sure to get car sick and throw up sometime along each trip.

Gary Cook

Just gorgeous, my favorite place hands down

Susan Pohl

Beautiful waterscapes and landscapes. Hiking trails, kayaking, canoeing, horseback riding. Secluded cabins. Something for everyone

McKenna

Love my local and state parks. ♥️

Tee Jay

If you have never taken a spring or fall drive through the Ouachita National Forest, you have missed one of nature's great displays of beauty. In the spring, you will be dazzled by such a breath taking array of green, that you will want to go back again and again. There are great places to lodge, as well as several RV parks for your enjoyment. There is an abundance of wildlife, so drive carefully. If you are fortunate, you might even get to see one of the beautiful bears which love in the area. If so, do not approach. Keep in mind, all these animals earn the right to the title, WILDLIFE. Do not try to touch or feed. Have fun.

Emily Fonner

So beautiful and full of life. We will come back!

Joe Reyna

Glenn Bartley

Went to Pigeon Roost Rifle Range 2 weeks ago. Decent range but obviously much run down from what it was once upon a time. Then again, it's free to use. Clean up your mess after you shoot there folks, do us all a favor. Shoot safely.

Sandy Rodgers

Amazing, Breath Taking, Relaxingly Peaceful, and makes you feel so calm, as if you have no worries or troubles in your life.

Denise Baxter

I have been to a lot of lakes and rivers in Texas, but Lake Ouachita in Arkansas is over the top! It is the cleanest, clearest, most peaceful and beautiful lake I have ever been on. Oh, and did I mention HUGE with awesome islands!!! The houseboats are one of the best ways to enjoy it to its fullest. ❤️❤️

ATV riding again was great. I'd tell ya were we went in the forest, but that give away our spot. Let's say vistas were great and people we ran across were pleasant. Wish it was closer to home. We will go again for sure.

Jeffrey Buxton

Really great views! Always an awesome road trip to take!

Anne Owens

We just drove thru but it was beautiful. Would like to return and see more of it

James brewer

Great place to ride sxs, no mud and very nice trails. My trip was very enjoyable and relaxing cannot wait to go again. Found a campground that has a RV hookup right on the back of a river.

Dennis Simpson

we feel blessed to be able to live in Hot Springs village and be so close to huge portions of the Ouachita national Forest... Well hiking from Iron Springs we were just eight miles from the flat-side wilderness area... it's like being a million Miles away... We love the ruggedness... The pristine beauty... And the untouched nature... Are dogs get excited when they know we're going there for me dollar per dollar it's one of the best investments the United States has ever made
