REVIEWS OF Hot Springs National Park IN Arkansas

Sandy Green

I have loved this city since I was a kid. Growing up I always knew I wanted to live here, 4 years ago I finally did it! It's my home now. Living in Hot Springs National Park has been the most beautiful and self rewarding time of my life. ❤❤

Redgirl Nico

The visit was great until we were followed by one of Hot Springs finest from the street to the parking garage to our vehicle on the third level. Good looking out HSPD

James Evans

The food was great but our waiter was not nice at all and in fact insulted me when I asked for some paper napkins for my wife he asked me if I needed a bib too. I took it as a joke but his attitude said it wasn't as the meal went on. He made our visit very unpleasant. If we go again will make sure he is not our waiter

Bonnie Kluver

Loved it.. my first time there.. will go back

April Tate

It's great for kids and adults. Perfect little hike, rest stops, and safe for all. It can be a challenging hike for a first-timer or if you take the stairs up to the tower top. It's beautiful and serene. I only visited once and that's all it took. I've been back multiple times. The area is well kept and clean. Even if the trails have a few families or groups here or there it's not over whelming. Basically, you still get to enjoy nature and have some quiet. THE SPRINGS ARE HOT! Great views await you at the top. It's not a huge hike, so a beginner can easily navigate the trails. I great carb after an all day hike and walking around hot springs is Grateful Head Pizza Oven & Beer Garden. They also have gluten and lactose-free options. There is a free parking garage within a mile from the park. It's an easy walk. The streets are safe and easy to cross. For the nerds- Pokemon go is great outside the park, around the shops.

Brett Denehan

Walking the promenade and bathhouse row is a quaint reminder of how life was 100 years ago. While not as expansive as some other National Parks, Hot Springs is perfect for a long weekend visit.

Normas de Hoy y Siempre

Great place to see and well spent time +money. If you like intermediate hiking it's a good place for you. Highly recommended

Gary Eubanks

We’ve been here countless times over many years and brought many friends. You can walk the lower section in downtown Hot Springs, sit at the pools of water and look at nature and have a relaxed time. You will need to drive up the mountain, but there is a very nice observation tower at the top. There is an admission for the tower. Views of the area around Hot Springs are breathtaking.

Shaina Dilbeck

Its in the city so if your expecting anything else, dont. Interesting information. Knowledable park rangers/staff. Fairly clean.

Michele Craig

Lovely layout, walking tour, shopping. Plan at least two days if you want to see everything and enjoy one of the baths. Nearby state park with marina, paddleboats, cabins, and camping.

Kate S

Good easy to medium trails if you're an avid hiker. Also beautiful if your an avid hiker and I highly recommend doing no matter what

Hope Wills

This place is awesome!! You can drive or walk up the mountain. Very close to Arlington hotel! And the Ohio Club where Al Capone hung out. Anyway, beautiful area!! You can take the elevator up even higher inside of the lookout we didn’t do that though.

Oscar Civallero

The volunteer guide was super friendly and knowledgeable. Made a connection with us and took his time to share the history of this place. The museum is well preserved and depicts the historical significance well.

Lauren

Hot springs is beautiful and the park is free! The Bath House Row lines one side of the street, and the city is on the other so everything is right there for you. You can drive around in the park as well and pay to go to the top of the tower overlooking the area.

Xander Dark

If you like trees they got them. The view from the top of the tower is great. It does cost money to go up the tower, but they give good discounts for national park card holders.

Amy Stewart

Great trails, clean creeks, lots to explore. Good for running, hiking, and biking

Kindel Fogerty

Unique and very beautiful national park. I am used to drive long distances to get to a park but this one is located within the town. It is nice to be able to visit a town and a national park all in one day. Hot Springs, Arkansas is a hidden gem!

Clyde Carr

Cool place to check out. Go to the Ohio Club for lunch. Lots of interesting shops on the main street. Historical bath houses, Hotels, and the hot springs are worth stopping to see. Free public parking garage too.

Melinda Johnson

Great place to visit or just get away. Nice and friendly little shops and eateries

Kara Brown

Very enjoyable museum. Fascinating to see the hydrotherapy styles of the early to mid 20th century. Went during a heat advisory in August and the air conditioning was blissful.

Misty McGill

Will definitely be returning. It was beautiful and something I needed. I never knew how beautiful Arkansas was.

Matthew White

Beautiful area to go through. Amazing scenery. Lots to see and do while you’re in the area.

Brandon Myers

Awesome campsites next to a stream with small waterfalls. Kids can play in the water and gorgeous trails right next to the campsites. Very family friendly atmosphere! Campground volunteers are super helpful with any questions. Highly recommended!

Cassandra Barber

Beautiful naturally but not well kept up. We parked at Gulpha Gorge campground and it was relatively nice there. The actual park seems more like capitalizing on the hot springs themselves but still worth the visit if you're passing through.

laura burens

Gorgeous national park, right off downtown, easy to moderate hiking trails, going up the tower this week. The Hot Springs water makes amazing iced tea, bring some gallon bottles to one of the water stations and drink while visiting here.

Barbi Wilson

Spectacular sites to see. The springs are beautiful. So much walking and nature to be seen.

Nadezhda Kotchetova

Great place to relax and recharge. Beautiful nature around. Nice amenities for physical therapy if you love that kind of joy. Quapaw is a public mineral pool with 4 basins of different temperature. Pleasant to hangout a bit with friends and relatives. Buckstaff is personal bath facility where I would recommend to take the full package for more advantage and relax (if health conditions allow of course)- working since 1912 and very authentic, you will never forget. And Tower for sure- breathtaking view, especially in fall.

Jeremy Cuthbert

A great place to hike! Lots of wildlife and trails for all levels of experienced hikers. Especially good for beginner and intermediate hikers.

Habacuc Cantera

Is a nice place to visit. On the weekend. Tower view is fun

Connie Glynn

We enjoyed it, even though it was SOOOOO hot! Superior Bathhouse Brewery is dog friendly, we stopped for a cold one & the dogs loved the cool tile floor & cold water!

Anita Reale

National Park is just right there in the middle of what feels like a downtown area. Shops, bathhouses, historic sites, restaurants, etc right across from a gorgeous national Park. Some nice scenic walking and hiking trails. You can also drive to the top of a lookout tower road.

Peter McCracken

Stayed at the Gulpha Gorge Campground. Beautiful campground with excellent hosts. The Creek running through the campground offers a refreshing dip and there's plenty of walking trails right from the campground.

Caron Gibson

Not many campsites at park & close proximity to one another. Camp hosts were very nice & helpful. Easy hike into town with bath houses & plenty of shops & restaurants.

Ray Heskin

Very neat history and story. Ranger guided tour was very interesting. Beautiful tile work and interesting building; check out the gym after the spa areas. The have a little decorative fountain out front that is very hot and a hot spring out back also that give you a feel for the heat and draw of the water. There are a couple water bottle fill stations around town to fill up your jugs (with a list of the waters minerals, etc). The free parking garage was packed, we were lucky to find a spot. We spent one day and thought that was good. We climbed the tower also and that was ok (3 of 5), view was ok, tower was old and a little run down. If I go back, I'd like to explore the rest of town and eat at the pancake house.

Rachel Torrence

The water was... Hot. Lol. I enjoyed the steam, I did dip my hand into it but not longer than 1 second. Inside the bath house that's a gift shop, you can drink the water from a tap, it tasted like pure water, no chlorine, or a harsh metal taste. And in the bath house that is a museum, there's a spring in the boiler room.

Angelofthe DarkBrotherhood

Beautiful place, lots of scenery and wonderful views. Great place for kids as well.

H May

HSNP is beautiful and well worth the visit. The short and steep drive up is nice and there's a scenic outlook at the top that overlooks Hot Springs. There's also a parking lot and gift shop ($$$) at the top.

J P

We absolutely enjoy visiting or taking family on a tour. When it's not too hot it's perfect. The driving trail is great and good distance. I'm ready for fall season and looking over the valley.

Shutterbug. dean

Nice park with lots of trees and hiking paths. Walking kids and dogs should be able to walk without trouble. The views are great and the trees give lots of shade and if you're lucky to have a breeze that makes it a nice walk.

jessica mikulka

Lovely downtown. Everything is in walking distance from parking. Spent the entire afternoon here. Filled with tons of little shops and food joints. Plenty points of interest a d lots of history to learn

Curtis Long

They have some very nice trails to walk and I recommend visiting the bath houses to learn more about Hot Springs and the history.

Emily Cartagine

We stopped here on a road trip to tent camp for two nights. The grounds are geared towards RVs, not tents even though they’re supposedly for both. The ground wasn’t flat enough for the tent and it was an uncomfortable night’s sleep. We wanted to hike and see the hot springs but they’re actually all capped. We started on one trail but turned back because it just looked out over the highway. Pretty disappointing. The two stars are pretty much just for the staff who were very friendly and because the bathrooms were clean.

The Travel Vlog Family

We had a great time at hot springs. It was the summer so it was hot, and out son passed out. Don't know if it was the elevation change or the heat, but the next day he was running a fever. Our daughter completed the junior ranger program and on our YouTube channel we share more of our experience there and her receiving her junior ranger badge.

Kate Hendrix

Hot Springs National Park is such a great place to visit. Everyone is friendly, there's plenty to do, and tons to look at. Bathhouse row is a great place to walk, with the whole downtown strip and the Arlington Hotel to enjoy there as well. You can hike or drive up to the Mountain Tower and see everything around and learn more about the springs and how Hot Springs became a town up there. It was such a relaxing time and there was plenty to do. Fresh water everywhere!

crispian paul

Great places to hang out. Go to one of the bathhouses if you can and enjoy a walk on the Grand Promenade.

Marjorie Lyon

Fun, baths were calming . We got a massage that was outstanding. Friendly people. Food outstanding. We stayed in the Arlington , built in 1924 Beautiful . Batman and Robin made and appearance!

Crystal

Friendly locals. I didn't do any of the park stuff but was cool to touch the natural hot springs just by the side of the street. The Mountain Valley store was generous to me and had great sparkling water (from Ouachita mountains)

Linda Sabo

Nice little park on downtown. You can see the hot steam coming out if the ground and creating a waterfall. Cool to walk around the old downtown if your in the area

Larry Miller

Didn't get to spend as much time as I would have liked. We took a tour of a bathhouse from about 1915. Amazing opulence. Amazing how medical treatments have changed and stayed the same.

Nicole D.

This place is awesome. There are many beautiful trees, mosses, and stones on the hiking trail. You can take a climb in the tower to look over the magnificent horizon. The gift shop has something for everyone on your list (and you can ever pick up a little something for yourself as well - I know I did!). Just be aware that the area can get a bit congested and lack parking spaces - of course, I went during peak hours Saturday mid morning during the summer. But, all in all, you will have a great time.

Nadira Chaity

Awesome place .. loved it! specially the bath is an incredible experience! Don’t miss it out... also book a spot beforehand because it’s popular and most attractive thing to do so very crowded So booking can save your time

Richard Dangle

The Hot Springs National Park is in an amazingly beautiful part of Arkansas. One of the best parts, is the Mountain View Tower High Rise. Once you begin your ascent to the top of the mountain on a 3 1/2 mile loop, you pass by a nice little pull off area that has picnic tables, restrooms (albeit without soap), and wonderful views while you enjoy your food. Once done picnicking you drive the rest of the way up and eventually reach the tower. They have a gift shop with A/C to cool down especially if you hiked up one of their many trails. The prices to go up are reasonable, especially for military. We paid $6 a piece and you can either take the stairs or an elevator to the 2nd or 3rd (top floor). The top floor is the outside viewing deck with telescopes that you pay to look through. The 2nd floor has a neat little museum about the history of Hot Springs but spent an awful lot of on the history of the bath houses. I'm sure the area has much more of a rich history than just that. Plus it was riddled with misspellings and bad spacing. All and all it was a pleasure to visit here, and would love to return in the near future. Would recommend!

Jap M

Nice place to check real natural hot springs. There is a very nice place to walk along the terrace which go over the hot springs. Pretty amazing seeing the steam come out of a natural hot spring.

Stephanie White

Loved the scenery. The signage to guide you through the park is easily visible and understandable. There are several lookout points as well as picnic areas.

Phyllis Harris

Oh my goodness! My first trip to Hot Springs will definitely not be my last!! Every minute of it was enjoyable!

Tanvi Gupta

It was a rejuvenating hot spa. Preserving the legacy of the old times. The museum upstairs is informative and surprising. The facility is a preservation of old bath house so the tubs and beds look a little old. Overall very nicely executed and worth the bucks.

Glorimar Sánchez

I walk on downtown almost all weekend and it's so good, share quality time with my husband and kids

Margaret Belle Mendoza

The signs weren't the most clear as to where to go but I enjoyed the park. Great walking park.

Dianne Pickin Tiner

This was interesting! It’s cool have a whole town is up because of the springs. Unfortunately two of my kids are too small to get in the water, so we had a great time looking in the bath houses and touching the springs.

Lorie Pennywell

The scenery from the observation tower is beautiful. My family and I enjoyed the experience. We attempted to walk up the mountain to the tower, but didn't make it, due to time. At the bottom, there is a parking meter for those who park near the mountain. We didn't have enough change for the meter. ( Bring enough change to put in the meters.)The hike is great exercise. I have to admit that I was tired. Don't regret trying, though. For those who are not able to walk the path, you are able to drive up to the observation tower. It does cost to go up to the top of the tower. Prices range from 5 to 9 dollars, depending on your age.

Hatice Kacer

This place is amazing! You can take your kids to explore all over the mountain and get fresh air. You can see all colors in one. Not so crowded and you can enjoy bbq.

Benjamin Lewis

A small national park, but perfect. You can hike to the top of the mountain to the tower within a morning. I had two children with me who hiked it easily. There's a store at the top selling regular type national park trinkets. The springs are HOT! Such a unique place. Glad my family had the chance to experience it.

Sheena S

I'm loving Hot Springs more and more each day. I've been researching about the town, Indians, and old history. The parks are so beautiful and I love taking photos of Mother Earth!!

James Murphy

I love everything about hot springs. Seriously. Between the narrow, history, and bars it's an awesome place

Jacqueline Markov

Very nice little park with hot spring waterfalls. Worth a visit.

Kelly Tidwell

Beautiful, love all the shops and people. Something going on all the time. Singing, lots of sweet shops...loved it.

Justin W

Nice little tourists town with some natural beauty. Plenty of historical interest.

Stephanie Griffith

I love this place. It's as close as you can get to being transported back in time to see what hot springs was like as a bustling resort town. Everything is well maintained, and beautifully displayed. Definitely a worth while stop if you're passing through or coming to visit.

Stephen Zahradnik

Awesome buildings to see and tour. Time warp back and experience it! In the basement you can actually see part of the spring! Take a hike around the park and see the springs that are capped off. Grab some hot spring water from city fountains close by.

Jae H

Very helpful and knowledgeable visitor center staff members. I put 2 quarters in the parking meter that gives you 30mins/quarter, and I was done exploring the bath house rows before the time was up. That was enough for me for not doing any bath or hiking.

S K

It is a lovely place full of nature trails and lots of hot springs. Do read about the History of this place before you visit. The scenes, stores, buildings and locations will be more meaningful and you'll appreciate it more. It is a small town with really nice people. The Watch Tower, The Bath Houses, Horse Rides, Duck Tours are a must! Lake ouachita is close by. Would recommend a boat ride in this Man Made Lake.

VANTELLI THE DON

It's more than a national park it's a way of life bringing the most out of any visitors and sharing traditional hometown values

clayton blankenship

This is one of those places you'd wanna bring a date to and spend a few days to take the whole town and lake in. Set in a beautiful part of the country it has a lot of entertainment to offer. The park itself was kinda busy yet very interesting to k ow how the white man commercialized something that had been around for thousands of year. Beautiful building and relazinging setting. A great place for strolls and to get in touch with nature. And yes the springs are HOT!

Bobbi Lunsford

This place has it all, awesome, friendly staff!! Get ready to spend some time in here. The price is excellent.

Emma Lee

A National Treasure! America's Spa

Danny Berger

Our family enjoyed our trip to Hot Springs. The National Park is one of many places to visit in the area. It's unusual, but very convenient that the park is adjacent to the downtown area. We will definitely be back!

Juan Cordova

We loved Hot Springs. The history of the area was very interesting. Everyone we encountered were very friendly and helpful. I recommend people visit this place.. we definitely will return.

Benjamin Wilson

Beautiful, quirky, unique. While the area is somewhat economically disadvantaged compared to a lot of other vacation destinations, it's also unique and not to be missed. Enjoy nature on they miles of hiking trails, but watch out for the spiders, they're as big as your hand.

Sandra Velazquez

This is a great place to take a quick break from the city (Dallas, in my case). I was impressed by the spring water fountains available to everyone and the variety of shops and restaurants nearby. Needed more time to explore so I'm planning to come back because there is also the horse racing track a few blocks from the park.

denis juarez

This place was incredible to visit! Had an amazing view of this beautiful town

Shine Christina P.

Had fun and thespring water is very healing. We will be going back. Girls trip round 2 next time.

William Olsen

Basically a large museum with interesting historic information. It's a national park, so it's awesome. That's said, of the 35 parks I've visited, it's the lowest ranking.

Charlotte Norwood

Junction McDonald really trying but still cant get half the orders right. I love you guys anyway.

Ken McCafferty

The whole town is basically the national park. Be sure to tour the bath house that houses the visitors center. They give guided tours at 11am and 2pm free of charge. We are dinner at "Granny's" which is just across the street from the National Park Visitor's Center. Very good home cooking with southern hospitality service.

Mary Williams

One of the employee told me that the hotel we stayed in had been built in 1924 The Arlington located on the strip Central, bath houses eatery all over some boats for sight seeing a casino lot of shops some with in walking distance. The hotel is old but kept clean, area is old and kept clean, there is parking in and around the hotel the hotel Arlington has a pool with two levels an amusement park near. I think you'll enjoy yourself the food is good.

Kathryn Wurts

Reese our waiter made excellent recommendations for the flights of beer that we had. These pretzel was wonderful the cheese sauce was a little watered down which made it Messier. The Taste was still good just could have been thicker.

Linda Reberry

So interesting to cross a city street and be in the National Park. Loved the history here. The museum was very informative.

kelly c

Hot Springs is a home away from home for me. I love the atmosphere and the history. People are really great and friendly and love to talk about the town. Love the flea markets and shopping. The gangster museum is a must-see and if you are into flea markets, the Higdon Ferry flea market and Central Avenue Market are definitely the places to go.

Chris Nycum

Really interesting park that you can explore at your own pace while also checking out the downtown area. A true historical gem that is good for the entire family.

jim evert

It is just an eclectic mix of different things. From gambling, arts, events, racing, the lake , dinning, museums, amusement parks, there ar no limit to what you can do . Vacation weekend or live the place offers different levels of entertainment. The historic downtown is experiencing a revival and is exciting in a new an vibrant way . Visit Hot Springs, it's a unique gem for the natural state

Jay

It was great but I guess the waterfall is a seasonal thing. Should have researched it alil bit.

Boyd Dippery

There is so much to do and learn here. We went as close-to-home vacation for the amusement park and find ourselves enjoying the history and archeology equally as much. We all left happy, tired, and vowing to come back

Gary Maskell

It's a surprisingly beautiful area that is a gentle reminder that you don't have to leave the U.S., or even Arkansas, to enjoy the beauty of nature! You merely need to look around at the scenic locales in you vicinity.

tina ahhee

I love to look at old architecture, this is a wonderful place to do just that. I hope more of the buildings get sold and shown the love they deserve. It breaks my heart to see them abandoned.

Adam Hill

An odd National Park, but as the first this is expected. The park includes a town and was created to preserve the purity of the hot springs and beauty of the surrounding hills. The history in this small valley is deep and worth the time to explore.

Jason Shutts

Not a bad place for a quick day trip, but not anything special, especially for a National Park. This is the second smallest National Park, the oldest, and I think the only one in an urban setting. There is no entrance fee which is nice, but the majority of the hot springs are covered up, supposedly to prevent pollution. There are fountains to collect the water for drinking (the hot spring water is better than the cold) but you are not allowed in the springs. The only way to enjoy the water is to go into one of the bath houses. Make an appointment early, as they were booked when I went. They also do not do online reservations, so you have to call during business hours. The main springs are right at ground level, on bath house row, don't expect to see any while hiking.

Elizabeth Opiela

The kids love to come to the West Mountain summit. Very special today, we got a beautiful rainbow@

Harmony Paige

A beautiful place to see a natural Hot spring and have a seat on a bench to enjoy the view or sit on the grass and have a picnic. I was told they hold events and have live bands from time to time. There's a thing called a cell phone tour where you call the number, enter your stop location and a recording tells you all about the history of the park. I really enjoyed sitting there soaking up the sun and listening to the little waterfall of hot water coming down the mountain into a little pond below. There is a hiking trail and a spot you can go walk up to and look down on the spring.

Janell Evans

Loved it. Wish I could have stayed longer. Would be a great girls trip.

Chris McKinney

Awesome visit to a very unique facility within the National Park system. Spent about 45 minutes within the Fordyce Bathhouse Museum. Then another 3.5 hours hiking the trails on the north end of the park. We climbed to the top of the observation tower and even got a discount on the experience with our America the Beautiful Pass. The trails are well shaded which provided for a great hike, even during the heat of the day. The park has a great Jr Ranger program which, as with all other National Park Jr Ranger programs, kept the kids occupied while we explored history.

Daryl Johnston

What can you say about the Spa City that hasn't already been said. It's just a place you have to experience at some point in your lifetime - preferably multiple times, so you can take in all there is to offer. Tons of rich history along bathhouse row. Plus, take the time to soak in the waters for an hour or two. It's well worth the time and money!

Donna Culpepper

Beautiful park right in the heart of the city. The bathhouses are beautifully restored and a real treat. The grand promenade is a lovely place for a stroll. Tons of cool shops are right across the street. Lots of great restaurants in walking distance. Do yourself a favor stay in one of the nearby hotels and get out and stroll the streets. Visit the national park and enjoy a spa visit. Bring a gallon jug and take home a special souvenir that can only be poured up in Hot Springs. I highly recommend a visit to this beautiful place.

Jeni Watts

Very interesting. Must go through fordyce visitor center to appreciate the history.

Lauren Thomas

Absolutely beautiful area and views. People around here are super friendly!

Tonya Royce

This is a tourist town, with tons of cute shops and beautiful scenery. However, if you expect to swim in the hot springs as they are depicted in photos, you'll be disappointed. They only allow you to take a private bath, in a bathtub filled with "hot springs water" (supposedly) that starts off @ $38.00. An extra $4 for a souvenir loofa. Also if you have children under 10, you're out of luck. They only allow 10 and up and you'll be in separate tubs, unable to share the experience together. I paid the money for my girls and I to do it- only because we drove 15 hours specifically because they wanted to do this- but I want to warn others that it is not as it seems. I wish we would have known, we would have spent our last trip of the summer elsewhere. If you're looking for a beautiful place to shop, this is it though.

Svetlana Gladkaya

Hot Spring is a nice place to visit ,however I did not find many things we can do there with a small child. Bath houses don't allow children under 14, so you have to find someone to watch your kids. The nature there is beautiful and shops are fun and unique.

Paula M

We love to walk around the park and visit the shops here. The hot spring is really amazing!

Holly Nguyen

Small interest town. We rented an airnb apartment behind family Dollar store off the main historical street. We did the naked hot bath at one of the bath house for $38/person for 1 hr package. We went to the Garvan Garden at $15/ person, 2 hrs trail botanical garden !

Aimee Wan Kenobi

Bath House Row was popping! Had great weather, not too crowded but active. Great atmosphere.

Mandy Kirby

Very interesting. The only park in the NPS that encourages one to use their resources and not preserve them . Fountains everywhere for filling up water bottles with the hot spring water. Bathhouse row is a fun area that has lots of great narrative about how the a city was formed around the hot springs

Mandy Wright

This is a very interesting national park! Different than the typical national park. There are various bathhouses to look into, which are beautiful historical buildings. Especially the Fordyce, which is the visitors center for the park.

Mary Kesterson

A very beautiful place, you could stay for days and do exciting things each day

Emily Fonner

Cute little park in Hot Springs. We filled up our water for free here, it was a fun experience.

Foldem Foldem

So this is kind of different from any other National Park I've ever been to. It's really right in the middle of the town of Hot Springs, Arkansas. And there's really not much to it. There are a few trails that lead up to an observation tower basically. The views are nice. There are one or two hot springs to speak of but, they have pretty much made it impossible to go into any of them. Instead they have funneled all the hot water in to old school style bath houses that you pay to get into the right off the main strip of the town of Hot Springs. To be honest it was a bit of a disappointment. The town is your average tourist town, and some fun can be had there if that's what you're in to. I suppose with a bit more research I could have figured this out but even in the picture that shows the springs, like you can get into them, but you can't. There's some interesting history here from bootleggers and old-school gangsters like Al Capone and Lucky Luciano. And it's not that it's a bad town or anything it just wasn't what I was expecting. If you're looking for natural Hot Springs or walking through a good amount of nature this isn't the place. But it's worth it if you know exactly what you're getting into and you don't mind that kind of thing.

Serena L

The shops were quaint. We did not stay in Hot Springs as we have family that lives about an hour away. Both very different and beautiful experiences. The hotel is old but kept clean, area is old and kept clean, there is parking in and around the hotel the hotel Arlington has a pool with two levels an amusement park near. The historic downtown is experiencing a revival and is exciting in a new an vibrant way. But, all in all, you will have a great time.

Mark Perschel

Stopped by the famous HOT SPRINGS National Park in Arkansas... The were really HOT. Most I have been to have been only warm.. These are very comforting. The Bath House Row is well maintained and restored to the original design. There are no park entrance fees so great for visiting....

Ryan sauders

Hot springs is a great place to visit for the outdoor enthusiast. It's a small southern town about an hour away from the Little Rock airport. Good restaurants, great lakes, and wonderful trails including mountain and road bike trails. More golf courses in the area than I could list. Downtown hot springs is fun and vibrant and has fine dining restaurants, boutique stores and great parks (very walkable). It also has wonderful architecture including bath houses that are on national Park land. Perfect place for a weekend or three day getaway.

Robert Troughton

Wasn't expecting the amount of interesting and fun things to both do, and see, in Hot Springs. While there were, definitely, the same run of tourist traps there was, also, plenty of actually worthwhile sites with real history to make the trip very enjoyable. Make sure and visit the different spas, go on a tour of one of the old ones and then treat yourself to a Fat Bottom Girls Cupcake.

Marjorie Goulding

Hot Springs is beautiful! The Park Rangers were informative and even helped us by getting several pictures with our entire group in it. If you have not crossed this park off your list, just go. The streets are lined with mature tress, allowing for shade even on the hottest days! The bath house elevator was a godsend as one of us is handicapped. The town is lovely. The shops were quaint. We did not stay in Hot Springs as we have family that lives about an hour away. It was a great day trip!

Joseph Edwards

Beautiful, calming, peaceful. People when you want to see them and serenity when you dont

Andrew Burton

We had alot of fun just walking down the strip, great place to visit even if only for a few days. I had never been there before and I was shocked by how clean and hot the springs were. Didnt get to go up the mountain trail this time but we definitely will next time.

Denise Brown

Very beautiful & alot of things to do.. the lakes are amazing

Mark Foster

We will go back. Brewery is great town neat. Did not break the bank vacation

Chris Cook

Downtown is where people come to in this town to shop or show off their Harley's and car shows. I enjoy seeing all the cars and bikes.

Loved the park. You can get free spring water in town. Lots of good hiking to do and stuff to see.

Shawn Snelson

Definitely temper your expectations of this park. It's interesting to see the old bathhouse that now functions as a museum. It would have been really awesome to visit it back when it actually served the public, and it's cool to see a glimpse of what this park once was. With that being said, there's not much else to this park. They have leased out the other buildings that house functioning bathhouses to private companies. They are overpriced and drab. There are some nice walkways around the town, but nothing on par with what you would expect from a national park. If your passing through, check it out, but don't go out of your way to plan a vacation here.

Thomas Hastings

I found Hot Springs completely different then what I thought it would be. A park in the middle of the town. Plus parts of that will close so I could see it. I'll revisit it later

We spent the day walking around Hot Springs National Park. As many reviews have said this is not your typical National Park. However, knowing that going in, made an intreging day. The history and architecture are very interesting. We found a free place to park off of the mainstreet. Metered parking and a parking garage are available. Start at Bath house row. As you walk down the sidewalk you will see the visitors center. They have a nice self guided tour. Once you are finished, make your way down the sidewalk towards the Arlington Hotel. You will come across an area with the natural spring and small pools. This is a great place to put your hand in the water to get a feel of how hot it is. For people who want to try out a bath, you will need to make an appointment at one of two bath houses (which are still in operation) on bath row. Be sure to bring a water bottle with you to take advantage of trying out the water from one of many water fountains located around the city. When you are ready for lunch or dinner walk across the street from the park to an array of restaurants and shopping.

There is so much to explore here- so far I really love this area. Can't wait to track down the spots that I see in all these photos!

Aradia Esoterica

I love Hot Springs. There's a very energetic charge in the air. It's a magical place! I can feel it, especially downtown. Would like to live on bathhouse row! Beautiful

Adhi Two Owls

It's not fancy in a good way. Clean. Pleasant staff. The tubs could used some maintenance.

Lindsey Taylor

Had an absolutely lovely time on the trails, as always. We could see some trees starting to change for the lookout on Goat Rock Trail. Get you some, people!

Roland Brunette

We love this place mostly for the bathhouses. We like it for all the cute stores. We also love it for the hiking. We like it for the architecture as well.

Sara Dedmon

I love hot springs! It's a fun small tourist town that is super close to my hometown, but it has all kinds of different things to do! From the beautiful scenery of the lakes, to the fun environment of bathhouse row, to the excitement of oaklawn. There's just something for everyone

Kimberly Riggle

Great park! Well maintained. Every employee was courteous and knowledgeable. Highly recommend spending a few days just exploring. Take every opportunity to go to the mountain tower as well. We did it in the rain and at sunset. Both very different and beautiful experiences.

Shilpa Vijayan

Awesome place! It’s heaven on earth. Loved it absolutely.

Amber Hogfeldt

GORGEOUS! I love that you can park the car and walk everywhere. Great for family outing or to explore for date night. Great weekend getaway!

Juan A. Abundis

Beautiful place to camp your RV! Enjoy the nature around you

We loved Hot Springs National Park. We had never been to the top of the tower, until this week. It was a great experience. Hot Springs is awesome overall.

Daniel Clem

I grew up there, and it's still nice to go back to and bring my family for a vacation. Lots to do.

A.H.M. Jakaria

Natural wonder. The city of Hot Springs is actually the main attraction of this national park. If you are a nature person, this place may not be the best for you. Almost all the hot springs are kind of commercialized by the spa places.

lena dillworth

Great outting the girls day out shopping eating laughing. The continual breakfast the stay. Overnight was excellent great service we all had a blast

Shane Hughes

Our favorite getaway place. You can be there from Shreveport in about 3 hours... We normally stay weekends in a condo. Just a great mountain atmosphere.

Holly Kaufman

Well kept and preserved. Very clean displays. Enough displays throughout that even during peak hours it does not feel overcrowded. Would highly recommend seeing the fantastic architecture and possibly participating in the spa scene as the benefits are told to be fantastic. Pricing is a little high for the spas, but from gathering information and other interaction with clients seem HIGHLY worth the cost.

Ally Whobrey

Park and the town within it was amazing nature mixed with shops and experiences. The tower was amazing b cause you can the entire park.

Bryan Patrick

Arguably the first National Park. The hot springs are amazing and very unique. The visitor center is in a restored bath house with helpful and informative staff. For the downtown portion of the park, park at the free multi-story parking deck on the west side of the street close to the visitor center/bath house. There are many hiking trails that give a "wilderness" experience with sweeping vistas in an urban setting. The Gulpha Gorge camp and picnic area features a clear mountain creek tucked into a forested mountain setting.

Christopher Tatro

This park was a really nice the hike. It wasn't too bad to the top. Beautiful views and a nice breeze. We didn't venture up the tower as it was a hazy day. The hot springs were at the base of the mountain though so be warned. They aren't large but really intriguing to view and TOUCH! A bit warm.

Samantha Allison

Very beautiful park. Quiet with great views. If you want to hike or sit and relax and enjoy the scenery, this is a great place to do it.

johnny aiken

so- this national park was basically a mountain town downtown area (shopping, kitschy museums, restaurants etc) and some bathhouses you can look around in. supposedly there were some hiking trails, but it was hard to navigate through all the crosswalks and panhandlers. i think a “national historic area” is a better description for this park....”national park” paints a picture in people’s heads and to be honest- it’s far from that picture. ps- everyone working in a store on the main drag was a jerk....extremely unfriendly.

Jamee Shackelford

Great place to shop look and just enjoy. Such beautiful people and places

Kimberly Bollman

We drove thru the park (no fee) but did stop a few times to get out and take some photos or just walk around. It is beautiful and even the restrooms are clean and up to date. There is a tower near the top of a mountain for you to shop for gifts. Or you can take the elevator (fee) to the very top and get 360 degree views of the park and of Hot Springs, as well as mountains in the distance. A very good few hours!

Audrey Hill

We love Hot Springs National Park! It has that hometown feel & really good food.

Samantha Gerber

Hot Springs, AR was really fun, we stayed at a nice hotel in town: the Embassy, and we walked around all the bath houses. It was fun learning about the city and the spring waters. The local restaurants had good beer and good food!

Elaine Bowers

This is a beautiful place. It is above the town, so you can see it below. It is worth driving the climb up to the top.

Lance Nettles

This is a step back in time. The bathhouses are a Greta walk though. Though they were closed when I came through I have got to visit them before. If you haven't experienced this park before it is worth it. Got some exercise walking down the prominade and enjoying the views.

J French

This place has several hidden gems hidden in the hillside. The path I took was very steep, but that was great for keeping pedestrian traffic light. The museum was also worth the time.

DrCowinabox

Surprisingly cool! Wasn't sure what to expect, but it's definitely an awesome park. Cool history, and doesn't sugarcoat the fact that it was founded in a very racist/ sexist period in American history. Not very outdoorsy, but cool nonetheless. Go to the brewery if you're of age. It's worth it
