REVIEWS OF Slide Rock State Park IN Arizona

Mikayla Martin

Slide rock. What is there to say about slide rock besides it is a wonderful place to go to get out of the valley. Scenic beauty. There is plenty of room for the ton of people that make it each day! We pack lunch and snacks and go once per year. I would love to make it more often!

Crystal Tharrington

Must see fun for children in warm months have swim suits

Amanda Stone

Beautiful place to play and relax although it is not pet friendly like we were told, which was a huge bummer. Gave 4 stars because of that reason. Dogs are “allowed” but can not go down to the water therefore there wasn’t much we could do.... so I other than that, it is beautiful!

Ash Gibson

Nice park and landscape, very busy though, and I think $20 for parking was a bit high especially since we were only visiting for an hour and a bit. Didn't go for a swim as the river was quite dry and too many people in it, lost a flip flop in the water, couldn't retrieve it. But beautiful scenery and surroundings.

April Metoyer

Amazing! So beautiful and fun to boot. The water is VERY cold so be prepared. Bring shade, shoes (its slippery), towels, water, snacks and floaties....leave coolers and strollers. There are picnic tables near the parking lot that work beautifully for lunch!

Julius Blair

Great Place to enjoy a brief hike and cool off. Please have floaties for kids. Almost seen a kid drown due to sliding away from his Mom because of the alge. I would definitely go again.

Staci Peper

We hit Slide Rock SP after hiking to Devil’s Bridge in the morning (another 5 stars for that awesomeness!). We received 1/2 price for military service (bonus) and we truly enjoyed the refreshingly cool water, natural slides and jumping from the rocks into the “pool.” A definite must if you’re in the Sedona area in the summer.

Tina Clancy

I had an AMAZING time. This was my FAVORITE part about my vacation. Thank you. We will be back

Sandra Petty

My Daughter and my 13 year old grandson had a ball! But there are a lot of rocks to climb and it is slippery so you have to be careful.

Deanna Miller

Fun for everyone.... Natural water slides in the red rock, jump off of rocks into creek hang in sun or shade on rocks by creek...

Assaf Lowenstein

was already packed at 10am, water were very cold but kids had a lot of fun. Definitely recommended.

Sam Leone

Came for the view, stayed for the cliff diving. Once you arrive if you go under the bridge there is a natural 10 meter cliff that is safe to jump off of. Also, if you climb, it's like a V2 to V4. I couldn't send the whole thing but I'm sure someone better than me could. Also. DO A FLIP!

ThatOne FatRat

Great fun for the kids! Get here early before the crowds. Water is cold but manageable

Trina Mettle-Mills

It's a beautiful but dangerous place...they don't give bug enough warning about the place. You shouldn't go there without water shoes. The entire place is dangerously slippery and when you are in the water the rocks are covered with moss making far more dangerous....BE CAREFUL....I didn't understand and I broke my arm

Tim Norris

Fun place to slide along a cool stream. Tolerable place on an otherwise hot day.

Samy Porrata

Cool place to bring your children. Prepare yourself for cold waters but the ace ice views are amazing. Spoke to two park rangers who were really friendly. Crystal clear water and easy access just a short walk from parking lot.

Jon Beaty

The park is easily accessible, fun for kids, and nestled within the breathtaking Oak Creek Canyon area. It should be added to anyone's tourist destination when visiting northern Arizona. As always, Arizona park employees were friendly and informative.

Estefania M

Beautiful place. I love coming here. The only thing that bothers me is how much trash people leave behind. Please pick up after yourselves!

Cathy Yanez

Love it love it love it !!!! You have to go early to get a spot because it gets full fast but it's worth it

Alyssa Ortiz

An absolute amazing time. Go have fun but parking extremely limited!

Daniela Moore

So much fun but get here early or there is no parking. Even if you end up parking on the side of the road you still have to pay a fee per person to get in.

Jillian Wendel

Steep price if you are just going for a few hours, but the views were beautiful and the park seemed pretty well maintained for being a place that swimming is allowed.

andre morales

Great place to go cool if and play in the water. The only negative thing to say is that it's busy! But no wonder because it's a fun place. If you get a chance check it out.

Joe Butler

Slide rock park is a very beautiful place to visit, but the only problem is... Everybody knows it. If you want to enjoy yourself, get there right when they open up. As of 2019 prices are $30 per car. $15 if you are/were in the military. By 11AM it was so crowded we had to leave, people were putting up there massive tents on every relatively flat surface so that it became hard to move around. We just left, luckily we got there early enough so that we felt as though we got our money's worth. The slide itself is rough so be prepared to get a little banged up! And some crazy people were jumping off cliffs into a small section of deep water, while entertaining, it was also scary to watch! Overall I recommend seeing it, but you may want to now all the things I mentioned.

Dee Sroufe

Lots of people visiting. Water was cold but we waded our way up to the slick rock slide. Even I went down. More fun with the family.

Ali Hazza

The type of a cozy dive bar. Drinks are not pricey. Staff is cool. A fun place to go to on weekends as well as weekdays.

Matt R

Great weather & cold refreshing water . Love the fresh air

Rick Sampson

An amazing day trip from Phoenix and the whole family will have the best day ever. You need to arrive early during the summer as the parking lot fills up fast. There is a small fee but totally worth it. You can pack in a picnic or enjoy the ice cream shop. The walk to the natural water slides is a little long so bring the ice chest with wheels.

Her 310

This place is fun. I suggest arriving early if you are going on a weekend, it gets packed pretty quick and the parking lot gets full. The entrance fee is $30 on weekends and during weekdays the fee is $20, these prices are for vehicles with 1-4 adults. Additional people in the car are an extra $5 on top of your entrance fee. I recommend bringing water shoes, the rocks in the water are slippery. You’ll still slip with the water shoes but not as much. Compared to being barefoot or wearing socks. Plus, your not stepping on little rocks barefoot (like stepping on LEGO pieces). I learned from my first visit to Slide Rock, not to be barefoot. But if you want to be barefoot... you do you boo :) Slide Rock Market sells water shoes but I believe they are $15. And YES, the water is freaking cold!! I suggest just going for it, you’ll forget how cold it is fast. Have fun and please be safe!

Michelle Stratton

Beautiful clear water. Clean facilities. Beautiful landscapes.

Christopher Olthouse-Gallegos

I love slide Rock State Park. I've been going there since I was a kid 40 years ago. Now I'm taking my kids!

Rebecca B

A super fun day out! Nature's first waterpark that is fun for all ages. It gets very busy at weekends in the summer though so get there early and take plenty of cold drinks.

Steven Shinault

Real cool.. nice family hanging out time! #SHINAULTGANG

Елена Кравченко

This place is amazing! We didn't plan to stay there, we were just passing by, and were amazed by those beautiful views. Turns out this park is the perfect place to spend a day with kids! The water is cool, but in that hot day it was such a relief.. So we had a lot of fun splashing in water, trying to catch a fish, sliding those rocks, my husband even jumped from the cliff.. Just amazing!

C G

Beautiful and fun, but very very busy during the time I went. There are three bathroom buildings: one at Slide Rock and two on the walk there from the parking lot as well as a convenience shop that has pretty much anything you need. There are plenty of grills at the parking lot, but get there early if you actually want a parking spot. There is a fee to park in the lot too, so make sure you check the website. Rocks can be slippery in the water so be careful

Shirley Edillon

I was extremely careful but slipped and fell on the slippery rocks, hit my head really hard, also my shoulder and wrist were impacted. I ended up in the emergency room in Sedona last September. The doctor said this place keeps the emergency room in business. I know of two others that fell the same day...another adult and a child. My son had to drive me to the ER as the ambulance had just left there and it was a 20 minute drive to the hospital. It would have taken a long time to get back there. I also found out the water is not very clean. Dangerous!

Nicole

Really beautiful place. The hike in was easy and fun and the water was so refreshing. So many great spots to sit and relax for a swim.

Jazle Bernal

I really enjoyed my time here. There were apple trees everywhere and a place to comfortably eat lunch under shade. You have to be cautious as you go up or down the steps to get to the water or back to the parking. Many bring along their I've chests down to the water with them, but I don't recommend it. The steps you must take and the amount of people who are there will make you regret it. If you decide to bring shade, just remember to be considerate of other people's space. Now, about the water. The rocks are extremely slippery, you will fall regardless of whether you want to or not. The water is freezing cold and the current is really strong. Therefore, if you plan to take kids then you might spend your entire time watching over them. Do NOT wear anything reveiling your bottom like a bikini, i guarantee you that you will leave with a red bum full of scratches. I recommend water shoes but I won't guarantee that you will not slip. Overall, the place is beautiful and afterward you can go visit stores to make the experience more memorable. P.s. Finding parking and lining up to enter the park may become a hassle.

Bernardo Suárez

Great fun for all ages, we went there on our day of from hiking and had an incredibly good time. I’d definitely recommend taking water shoes as it could be hard to get out without them.

Kyra Batson

it was so much fun and the water was amazing... I would say to find side parking and walk, you will save some money and enjoy the view.

Gloria M

Beautiful scenery but getting down to where the water is was tricky. I'm surprised no one got hurt while we were there. People and kids walking and climbing everywhere. Some even put up pop up tents. It was beautiful though.

Hunter Berg

Great experience. Make sure to go past the initial entrance area if you want some privacy. Bring watershoes and take it slow.

Nicholas Alessi

Great place to beat the heat! Public restrooms with changing areas, water fountains, small store with food, floaties, water shoes, towels, and other summer gear. Handicapped parking lot, but not down to the river. Arrived on a Thursday at 1130 and after we arrived there were 6 parking spots left. We left around 2pm and there were many open spots.

Raul Chavez

Absolutely lovely time we had. It has been twenty years. We bright our friends.. They loved it too!

Tye Bowman

Jumped from the cliffs and slid down the creek. It wasn't too crowded. Water was 55°! Definitely took some time to work up to the idea of getting in this cold water, but well worth it.

Michael Found iT

Truely and awesome place to take a dip outta the heat in the summertime. The water is extremely cold but feels very relaxing once you get in due to the outer heat......$20 parking..$10 for military or retired folks..

Ann Robbins

We were lured to Slide Rock State Park by a travel ad/review video we saw on facebook. Apparently, you're supposed to be able to use this river as a water slide for over a mile. Such was not the case. The bedrock this river flows over is porous, making a "slide" a rather abrasive experience. There were only 3 or 4 areas where a "slide" was even possible for a short distance. There is a lot of rock covered in algae that makes where you want to walk slippery and I fell twice just trying to get out of the river. It's a great place to picnic, spend the day swimming in the deep section, jump off the cliff into the river, etc., but if you're looking for the penultimate water slide, look here if the river is at least an inch higher, or you'll walk away "chafed".

Warm snake

Water was a little cold but had an awsome time

Nicole Roche

We went on a crowded Saturday in August so we had to park on a small side part of the ride and walk. Don't park where there are no parking signs, you will get ticketed. Bring water shoes if you have them or buy them at the gift shop. Prices were $30 per car or $5 a person to walk in. We had a blast sliding down the rocks. Beautiful scenery and all patrons were respectful and nice!

Whitney Leming-Salisbury

Amazing park- especially if you can find a way to climb downstream, past the bridge. There are fewer people and a few cliffs to dive from into deeper pools! We had a blast.

Paul Muri

Soo fun. Come earlier in the morning for less people. Can get crowded as the day progresses. Suck it up and go down the cold slide.

Raquel Medina

It was great till it started to rain hard. But we had a great time. You need to put some benches closer. It's a walk to slide rock

Harold Lake, Jr

Beautiful, beautiful well worth the trip. Only issue is the entry fee - currently $30 for four persons. While I was growing up this used to be free! Be careful of the green moss covered rocks which are really slippery.

Kenneth Nguyen

Got to Sedona early afternoon. Drove a round, passed downtown and tumbled on this great fun park!

Marlyn Arellano

Such a beautiful place. The charge to get in and park is a little high ($30) however, well worth it. We saw the rangers multiple times back and forth cleaning so that's awesome. Water was super clean and nice and it's nice that they don't allow speakers because you don't hear a clash of 20 group's music. It was just calm and fun. The smooth rock was just awesome to slide on.

Simon Hill

Really great place to visit. Beautiful scenery and plenty of fun for the kids

Buttons E

Beautiful place. I didnt know where to go or what to see. Needs nicer people in guidance

Gary Yamamoto

Fun place for the kids. Parking is scarce and very expensive if you are lucky enough to get one. $25 - $30 dollars.

Cynthia Gorham

Was absolutely beautiful. Be careful though as it is true to it's name it is slippery!

Joe Weatherly

Fun place, bring Jean style shorts if you are sensitive to sliding over rocks. Only the smallest tubes to sit on for sliding down the natural grooves in the rock. Something the size of a pregnancy/hemorrhoid doughnut to sit on would fit. Water is glacier or snow runoff so even in August it's...a breathtaking experience.

Toni FISHER

Lots of fun! Amazing natural slides! The qarwe was pretty cold but in hot weather its not too bad.

Andrea Bonde

We went out early, which by far is much better. Unfortunately it isn't as slippery as it once was. Not many places to actually slide. The hike up is totally worth it though. Just a reminder, PICK UP YOUR TRASH. There was even Olive Garden trash out there. Ended up with an ear infection from here. Not a happy camper.

Yesenia Vazquez

20 dollars for a party of 4 , why not get lost in the creek too? This was a super fun adventure if you ask me! The restrooms were clean, the creek was awesome! This place is so relaxing, they also have grills for you and your family

Jay Richter

Beautiful! Great atmosphere with friendly staff and guests. Water is pretty chilly but once you get in and swim for a bit, you'll be just fine! One of the spots you have to see when visiting Sedona. Park is really nice and well maintained. Can't wait to go back!

David L.

Awesome place. Sucks to see it become so commercialized. Liked it better as a kid when you pulled off the side of the road and hiked down for free.

Sheryl Hatch

My son fell there yesterday and ended up with five staples in his head. The people surrounding him were amazing and we received exceptional help from the Rangers and EMTs. However, on the way to the hospital, we heard another person fell about ten minutes after him and were unconscious. It is very beautiful and can be a lot of fun. The rocks are very slippery, though, and it can also be dangerous. Have fun but try to be careful.

Ruslan Lunev

Water is cold and refreshing on hot summer day but i loved the combination of it and natural water park. Would take my kids there for dure!

BaK WoodZ Beatz

The drive is amazing! The view is breathtaking! The rocks are a sight to see and the water was pretty cold

Michael Truong Nguyen

This park is very popular so go early to get a parking. Water is cold but kids love it. Pack a lunch and plenty of water.

Vernon Robinson Jr

I can't express how beautiful this place is. It was a quick drive from Phoenix and well worth the breathtaking experience. A must visit for family and friends. You will love hiking the trails, the sliding rock areas, and enjoying the scenery. Absolutely loved it.

AKSHIT GOEL

This is one of the most beautiful places in US. In our way from Phoenix to Grand canyon via Sedona, we stopped at this State Park. Its beauty has left us mesmerized and is now on our list of most beautiful places on earth. It is not only beautiful but fun as well. You can have water slides in the river same as slides in water park. It is really fun.

Keisha Mclean-Green

Really good experience. The views are wonderful and the water is refreshingly cold.

jason beckstead

Super fun place. The kids loved it. Water pretty cold. Make sure to bring some grippy type water shoes cause the rocks are slippery. But we could have stayed all day.

Michael Ziemelis

A great place to come to slide down the rocks on natural water slides. Also a few stretches with deep holes to jump into. Amazing place to visit.

Jake Durtschi

Took our family of four. It was such a cool place! There were lots of areas to slide down with the normal flow of water. There was a great area for kids to jump off a small cliff (maybe 10’). People were super chill. Perfect way to cool off for a 9 and 11 year old. The river slide zone was great for little kids but it seemed like adults and basically anyone over 100lbs bumped into the rocks a little hard. If you are an adult watch your rear or you might have a couple minor bumps and bruises. Awesome fun for the kiddos!

Cherie Cica

Water was really cold and it was pretty busy but everyone was having fun and we enjoyed ourselves. Only $5/person to walk in vs $30 per vehicle. :)

Jeremy Rogers

Slide Rock was a lot of fun. This truly is a natural water park. Cool temperature water, fun slides over smooth rocks, places to jump from above into deep water, what more can you ask for? It was a great time and we will definitely be back.

Caroline Bachmann Cohen

Nice and easy way to enjoy some time in the great outdoors! We went in late September when the temperatures had really cooled off and there were still some more adventurous people in the water using the natural slides. I'd recommend hiking around here even if you don't plan to get wet. The contrasting blue and red rocks are really quite pretty, and there's lots of nice plant life. It's easy to get to - just a flat, quarter of a mile walk from the parking lot (which btw you'll have to plunk down some money to use (either to park in or just to enter as an individual walking)). After that short walk from the parking lot, there's some not very steep steps that lead down to the water. From there you can choose your own adventure. You can walk along the bank of the water for a bit, though eventually you have to do some high stepping to get up some rock formations here and there. Or to cross over you may need to get creative and step across some stones (or just get wet). There's also some trails on the opposite side of the water, upstream, that go up and away from the water, but we didn't explore those very much. We did see some rangers go back there on the look out for a bear though!

Axel Runnar

Slide Rock is absolutely beautiful. It was my first time here and I very much enjoyed the scenery. The water is refreshing and a lot of fun when the current takes you down the rocks. Just sit and enjoy the ride. It’s truly nature’s slide. Be aware that wet areas are very slippery and you could fall easily if you don’t watch your step. Be sure to walk slowly and hold onto nearby stones for support if you are standing up in the water.

Ryan Nebeker

We had a great time. Both kids wanted to stay longer and for sure come back again. The price was great also.

Beatrice Cocio

The park was amazing! The rangers were kind and helpful. Great family fun. Bring water shoes!!!

Donald Laubenthal

A lot of fun. The water is cold but refreshing. Be careful when walking on rocks, they are quite slippery. I would recommend water shoes.

Brian Hansen

Quite crowded on weekends with high parking prices. Nice scenic area to cool off in the natural slide area. Oak Creek Canyon is gorgeous.

R TS

Bring a source of shade with you, a book, a picnic, then spend the day. We arrived around 12:00 on a Wednesday and there were plenty of parking spots and areas next to the water. The water is cold, but after sitting in the sun for awhile, jumping was refreshing. It was 82 degrees, but it still felt great. After a couple days of hiking, this was a good way to relax.

Mike

One of the most beautiful places in the US. Where kids SHOULD be playing!

John And Ashley Hart

This is a pretty cool place but be aware of all of the tourists during the summer..parking is a pain in the rump and you are almost shoulder to shoulder with other people down towards the bottom where most people with young children are. Still it's a beautiful place and you should go at least once if you are in the area :)

Toby Kubler

Don't miss this spot if your in the area in the summertime and you don't mind a little chill in your swimming water. Breathtaking views, clear water and rocks to jump off into a deep pool. Careful of the slippery rocks near the "slides", saw lots of folks go down. Also huge picnic areas with BBQ's Make at least a half day of it if can. 20$ charge per car or 5$ pp if you walk in. Worth it.

Laura Thornal

My daughter's friend broke her arm within five minutes of our arrival. The Park Ranger was SO helpful in getting her proper medical care! Beautiful fun place for the family! Heed the words of your mother that the rocks are slippery

Nicole Hinds

This place is awesome, I suggest everyone go at least once. I drive from New Mexico to visit and loved it. The apple trees are awesome and we took some home. There are weird bugs in the water but other than that it is beautiful.

Nathan Schroeder

Beautiful landscape. Wish we could have gone swimming. Being from a different state, you appreciate the natural beauty around the country and other states. Wonderful to see this state park and all it had to offer!

Gina Walker

It was awesome ! Beautiful so much fun. And peaceful. Everyone should go

El Viejo Gonzalez

Fun in the sun! With water to play in and a length of Creek to choose from it is busy this time of year so you just have to find a niche and get to it. Fees for entry, and be water that pets not allowed. You won't see that sign until your already in the toll gate!

Melissa Monday

Amazing! Sliding, rock jumping, sun bathing and all while surrounded by majestic scenery. You can bring your own food or they have a little store. MUST bring water shoes. It’s not required but it should be. The rocks are very slick. A second suit and a pair of exercise shorts over girl suits wouldn’t hurt as the rocks tend to tear up one’s bottoms.

Stacy Assaf

Breathtaking scenery, historical information, family hiking and swimming - all the things that make a great one day outing for people of all ages. Three things to be aware of: 1. Access to the swimming area is not easy and not handicapped accessible. It includes 40-50 stairs and uneven rocky ground. Anyone with a cane, wheelchair, severe knee, or ankle injuries will not be able to hike down to this area. 2. The clifftop trail is easy and short. People who have difficulty hiking or going up or downhill can do the clifftop trail and view people enjoying the oak Creek swimming area from above. 3. The fee to enter the park is a little steep. For each car the cost is $20.

Kathryn Ellicott

Beautiful red rock gorge with oak Creek in the middle and slidey rocks that take you down stream. It's a BLAST! Beware though, that the rocks are slippery as you approach the chute, so it's good to have water shoes, which they sell at the little Slide Rock Market that is nearby for $15. Walking to the chute could be a bit treacherous if you have balance issues, as this is a raw nature site. But just follow the people, you'll be fine. A thrilling experience. Entrance fee $20 per vehicle. Lots of people there having fun. No lifeguard on duty.

Graham Frassinelli

This place has everything you could possibly want from a natural wonder- huge crowds, the near-constant sound of screaming children, and the atmosphere of a boisterous community pool (in fact this is a popular spot for locals.) The scenery is so amazing, however, it almost makes up for the public-beach-like feel. If you walk a significant distance from the eponymous 'slide,' the crowds thin out and the stressful energy subsides. There are slide rapids for the more adventurous, and rock pools for the more laid-back tourists like me. If you don't mind crowds and noise, or hey, maybe that's even what you like in a vacation spot, hanging at Slide Rock is a fun and beautiful way to spend a day.

T Gray

Excellent experience, the views are amazing...warning getting a big cooler down those rocks is a huge task.

Edward Tropez

Absolutely fantastic. Great for family time or just kicking it with friends... WOW!

Eric Munoz

This was one of the stops planned in our Arizona trip. I've never heard of this place before and was mesmerized by the beauty of the surroundings. There are a few buildings to tour through as well as a convenience store. The main attraction is the creek that cuts into the red rock valley. There are several bathers littered throughout but not too crowded that you can't claim a section of your own. Only word of caution is that it can get extremely slippery as I learned the hard way.

Dursun Er ILGIN

When I was driving from Flagstaff to Sedona , I accidentally found this natural wonder. Actually it is an local/state park but it’s very interesting to walk around , swim and jump there in to the water. Many locals were having sunbathing and lots of children enjoying the sliding rock aqua parks. There is a small market as well so that you can buy some simple needs and some souvenirs. Also some historical buildings which are not so old.

Sharon Cox

Cool place except, if your going to charge as much as they do their should be staff managing the activity in the rocks. Cant imagine what it must take in a medical emmergency. Very bad idea

B Lange

Great fun for $20! Even if the park looks packed when you first arrive, don't fret! The park never feels overly crowded when you are sliding around and swimming. Definately wear shoes while swimming there, you'll be glad you did. Lots of places to explore and some cool cliff jumping in the area!

Christina Garza

Such a wonderful place! People still need to remember to be respectful of nature here, but this is a super fun place to cool off during the summer!

Maria Alejandra Fumero Mendoza

I loved and enjoyed this park so much, perfect after few days of hard hiking

Curtis Wood

Awesome place for the whole family. Park is kept clean by the rangers and patrons. So pack pitbwhat you pack in. So much fun to slide down the river and play in the shallow pools.

Chris Lindholm

Love this place. Like a water park, but not the water park price. Have the slides, diving area, wading pool, and place for all the boring adults like myself. And to top it off you have ALL the beautiful scenery. Please dont liter!!!

Tim Shank

A. Maz. Ing!! If you are close to this park it is a must stop. It is a little hike down to the water, but it is worth your time. My family will never forget this place.

ritesh kumar

The place was so beautiful and full of scenic beauty. I stayed at friends place in phoenix and this was at easy drivable distance. The drive way is too good and beautiful. You can say this is a weekend place and can go there for weekend fun. If you do not have much time to go to canyon or you have small kids then you may satisfy yourself visiting this place.

B Scott

Slide Rock is a beautiful and scenic park with hikes and steams and rivers. The park is very cool to look at and good for families. However, when actually sliding on the rocks, they are extremely slippery, literally like standing on ice. The water can also be very cold. If you get past these things, the sliding or just swimming in the deeper erea can be very fun. It is best to wear water shoes in the water, but if you don't have these, it is best to wear closed toed shoes.

Jay 72

It is great for a family trip. A lot of the time the water can be freezing but its fun to push yourself. My favorite part is the tiny cliff jump but near the entrance I know there is 2 bigger ones. Its also fun to slide down the flowing water and go off the little jump

Deborah Barron Brown

Tons of fun. Watch out because the rocks are really slippery. Plenty of picnic tables. Dogs are not allowed at the creek area. I would definitely go again. There is a very short hike on the cliff with benches to watch the fun below. There are restrooms, changing areas and a small store.

Austin

Slide Rock State Park is amazing. We were on family vacation in Arizona and heard about this place from a close friend. We all ended up going and I am so thankful we did. It cost around $20 to get in and you have to make a tiny bit of a walk to get to the fun spot, but it is all completely worth it. The water is completely clear and refreshing. The rocks are so smooth you can ride on certain sections just like a slide. It is usually a little bit busy, but if you go a little bit closer to closing you can usually have a decent amount of space to yourself. They have public restrooms all around so you don't need to worry about that at all. Be prepared for the water to be a little chilly depending on what time you go, but I'm positive you will enjoy your experience here.

Alyssa Hallgren

Very cool natural feature. A boulder was in the "slide" when we went but it is a cool park nonetheless. I encourage you to enjoy some of the hiking and cliffs near by to take a step away from the crowds.

Nicolas Raoult

Nice spot to have fun even if the water is very cold and the fee is not cheap.

Stephanie Mamantov

The best time is to be had at Slide Rock. We hiked along the river, jumped in the river and had a pic nic. The water was cold but felt good on a hot day. The water was clear and there was no oder.

Anthony Thompson

Really fun! Bring water shoes or tight sandals. Really clean bathrooms.

Pedro DeSwift

A good place to cool off, or just soak in the surroundings while the kids explore.

vince ross

Oh my gosh this place is so wonderful. The scenery is unforgettable and will leave you breathless. The water is surprisingly so clear but a bit cold. Do not forget your camera and most importantly do not forget your sunscreen. Hahaha

Is Raining Cows

Beautiful! This place is a must see. The red rocks create levels on the sides of the river where you can relax enjoying the beauty of this place. In one part of the river, the water dug slides in the red rocks. About 15 ft in length. And you can literally slide in it like at the aqua park! The water is cold, but great for a hot day. There are plenty trees where you can repair yourself from the sun. This site is located within a vast park with different trails. This site is clean and definitely suitable for families with young kids. The park can get very busy. Best enjoyable during the week. The fee is also very reasonable $10.00 Mind that there are stairs and the rocks can be hard to be walked on with things like a stroller.

Cory Walton

Beautiful creek valley and sandstone rocks, fun cliff diving and deep swim areas, water is not as cold in the evening

Magdalena Zambrano

Loved this place!!! It’s nestled along the red rock mountains of Sedona with natural slides and ponds. Went there at the end of August and the weather was perfect. Helpful staff and just a parking fee to be able to go in. Very clean and kept. No pictures of the slides, but still beautiful surrounding areas!

Heather Schintler

We had a blast! The kids love it. The water is cold but it was fun.

Beth Mizen

What incredible views Slide rock Park has! It was such a treat to go there. I highly recommend it. Don't forget your camera! A most memorable place.

James Houghtell

Great place to spend the afternoon. Make sure you bring water shoes or buy some from the store on site. They are a must as the rocks are extremely slippery. It made all the difference with them on.

Jason Peredo

Great place to get away for the summer. The people are very friendly. Scenery is so beautiful and the water is cold but worth going to relax and stay cool!!!! Summer trip every year!!!!

Erin Casey

Went here with my family at the suggestion of a local tour guide. The place was so beautiful. The water was cold, but perfectly clear. My nine year old son will never forget this place. It was like mother nature's water park. Be careful even in water shoes/Crocs. Those rocks are super slick and my son and I both ate it a couple times.

Very crowded later in the day but such a beautiful place. The slides and jumping points are so fun, great place to stay for the day and hang out. Definitely recommend hiking up the river and taking in the beauty. Water shoes will help you with the slippery bits.

Awesome ! I loved it. It's fun and fresh. The water is a bit a cold i like it. However, it would be better if the parking was a bit close because when you gotta take things with you you need to walk a lot.

Jonathan Santana

Everyone should visit atleast once. Gr8 place to picnic.

Jason Haas

The water was still cold when we went. About 55 degrees, but we still had a great time sliding down all the natural water slides. We were told by a park official that the water is from a spring so it is always clear and cool.

J Saler Drees

Natural slippery slides. Literally the algae on these rocks is very slimy and the rocks are polished smooth from the rushing water so be careful treading through creek in some areas. Witnessed many falls, fortunately no one got hurt

Charles Booth

Bring your swimsuit and something to sit on and drinks! So much fun watching too!

Kate Coleman

This is another area of Sedona that is beautiful and breathtaking. There were what seemed like hundreds of people there. The day was quite hot and it was a pretty hefty walk but the beauty of the area was well worth the walk. Just walk at your pace and enjoy.

Kathy Ortiz

Great scenery, perfect place to cool off. Water shoes are a must, bring a first aid kit and ice packs for small injuries. Shade is limited. There is a long walk from the parking lot to the stairs and then ONLY stairs and a narrow rocky path to get to the water. You will have to carry everything you bring with you. Fun for families, no wheelchair access. Bathrooms and a small store are near the parking lot.

J K

This park is great. The scenery is breathtaking and is fun to traverse. This time of year the water was bone-chilling cold, but once you get in it was invigorating. Next time we are back in the area, we will definitely visit again.

Liz Mitchell

Went on a Monday and cost $20 for the 4 of us to get in. Totally worth it. There is a slick sliding area that is COLD!!! It will feel like heaven but then you’ll feel it! Follow the slide to the end and you’ll find a quieter spot with a tall cliff to jump off of. My 12 year old was brave and did it while I had a heart attack. We loved this place and would totally come back!

Ernesto Lopez

Great place to have fun with kids or anyone. Its beautiful to look at and many pools, slides, and jumping points. It can get very crowded on weekends so come during the week u less you don't mind crowds.

Marc Boileau

Fantastic time my nine year old didn't want to leave. Rocks are slippery . Try wearing socks works really well.

Kathleen Coleman

We lucked out with perfect overcast skies and warm weather. Nice high jump into deep pools and plenty of natural waterfalls to slide and glide down.

Christina Whissen

We loved it.. it was packed! Very slippery =((( definitely need swimmer shoes our kids fell a few times =( but it was fun

I’ve been coming to slide rock for over 30 years. I love this place. A lot of fun for kids or fun loving adults. This place is beautiful all year round. During the summer and early fall I like to swim and get out of the heat. During the fall I like to see the leaves change and relax next to the creek. During the winter, there is hardly a person there and it can be quite serene. It’s especially beautiful when it snows. Spring is also nice as but the crowds start to come back en masse. The only drawbacks are the crowds, on the weekends, in the summer. It can get way too crowded. Furthermore, some people don’t respect nature. I’m talking to you fool! That’s right, you person who leaves bags of half consumed cheetohs where ever you please! Go to slide rock on a week day once school has stared, and you’ll be sure to have a great time.

D Cas

Woo hoo almost as good as a regular water park. Views are amazing on the way there and I side the park. The water is a little chilly but feels great on a hot day.

Johna Davis

Sedona is my favorite place on earth but finally got down to slide rock and it was the cherry on top for a perfect family day ! Fun slides and beautiful scenery! Just go EARLY as parking gets full as soon as they open. We had to park down the road and walk a little, but totally worth it ! Bring shade or tent, chairs and lots of snacks and you can enjoy the magical peace all day ! Cant wait to go back ! ❤✨

Keith Danielowski

Awesome sites. Cool clear water and some neat stories to share

Jonthen Turner

It's beautiful water was COLD!!!

Andrea Carlantuono

Great park near Sedona. If you are nearby take 2-3 hours to go swim in the natural slides carved into the rocks. A little bit crowded on weekends.

Carly D'Angelo-Hall

Beautiful location to hang out for the day, water is freeezing and the rocks are super slippery so make sure you bring water shoes with traction. Bathrooms are very nice and clean. Definitely would recommend!

David Forte

It’s so much fun going cliff jumping and going down the water slide by the bridge

Steve S

I've been going to Slide Rock for years and it's still beautiful there! It's very clean and kept up. My only suggestion would he is to not allow canopies. People get a little crazy with those and they take up a lot of walking space. Other than that I love the park!

1519element

Brilliant! Get there early as it tends to get fairly crowded. Really pretty drive and amazing place. If the crowds get to be too much and you have had your fill of sliding head back a ways towards Sedona. Lots of nice swimming holes.

Elango Tamil

Good place to visit in summer. Very good place for one day trip from phoenix in summer. Getting parking is bit deficult in weekend's.

Carrie Wahl

So much fun, God's ultimate waterslide! Freezing cold water, but we had a blast. Water shoes would be helpful as the rocks are slippery and young kids may want a life vest. There is a spot to jump into a deep pool and plenty of shallow and deeper swimming areas.

Sheri Loyd

What a Great time!!! Only downfall, minimal parking!!! So come early if you plan on parking in their lot. Otherwise be prepared to walk the white line of a 2 lane road.

David Eschberger

Beautiful scenery, frigid waters, fun sliding and jumping of the ledge into the cold water. Tons of fun!

Dawn McCall

Great place to visit in Sedona. Make sure to have the water shoes. Should have just spent the $16 at their gift shop. I slipped a few times on the very slippery rocks. Also, ladies wear shorts that cover your bottom. Fun but my bum hurts like crazy. My husband wore a couple holes in his swim shorts. Definitely worth checking out if you come here.

Anne Dooley

The natural waterslide and cliff jumping is loads of fun. You can't escape the crowd, so embrace it. Go early- the parking lot fills up & you may have to park 1-2 miles away and walk in.

Edwin F

Beautiful well kept park in the heart of Sedona's red rock mountains. Bring a swimsuit, hiking stick, or both. no matter what it wont disappoint.

M R C

We having been going up there since our childhood. It was more rewarding going as a parent and grandparents! It was a beautiful day and the water was flowing.
