This Park belongs to the category of National park.
It is a different experience with cactus and the drives. Watching cacti n desert life this close was great. Summer is not gud time to go. Also, younger kids are not preferred as trials are not stroller accessible
My hang out, nice place to take family from out of state.
Yeah I loved it first time here in Arizona and this beautiful what's the name of this place the cactuses were plentiful and it's pretty amazing I'll be back
I don't visit here, I live so close it always comes up that I'm there. I'm actually at home. Love it.
Never get tired of the beautiful drive. The Saguaros are amazing..
Enjoyed hiking the trails. The visitors center had a nice presentation on the area bird life as well that day.
What can I say I love the outdoors. In this park you will find your strengths
Enjoyed a sunset visit - beautiful. Visitors station was excellent
Great drive through the park with many hiking trails. Not the best place for dogs. Take lots of water and sunscreen. Great hiking park and awesome place to watch the stars.
Best in the world ❤️
Great place to see huge cactus, only down side is the heat, 100+ days. Bring sunscreen.
A great place to visit. We had an excellent guide who prepared us for the trip well.
Awesome place to hike and see the saguaros and other plant and animal life!
Very cool place to see and learn about the Saguaro, provides both driving tours and hiking tours. Visitor center (I only went to the red hill one) is informative and a must-go too.
I never understood how people could talk about loving the beauty of a desert, until I came here. I am in awe when I see a saguaro cactus. I never knew that a desert could be SO green! I have a new appreciation for desert life, both the flora and fauna. The information provided at the visitor center taught me a lot. I loved visiting this park.
Well worth the drive and the cost! Fantastic, well maintained trails abound throughout the desert areas, and the views are interstellar!! No better place to experience the pristine desert in a controlled manner!!
Amazing to drive through and take pictures of the cactus! The visitor center is pretty plain, but the hiking and pull out areas are beautiful.
This is one of our most beautiful places to visit in az. Watching as the monsoon rains began spectacular views across the sky.. truly a awesome picture rocks! A must see!
Great park, nice trails and lots to see. Very clean and enjoyable
Great place to take the family year round. I do recommend sun screen in the summer, but if you forget, they have some in the restrooms too.
It's the lush and diverse part of the Sonoran Desert. The Saguaro cactus make a forest in the desert right outside Tucson, Az.
These cacti are stupendous! First you see them marching up the hills and then when you stand next to them, they're huge. So impressive!
Great place to go and hike. Spring is beautiful here as the saguaros are flowering during the season. If going a long hike consider starting early in the morning as it gets really hot really fast
You can drive thru nature or get out and walk at some of the stops. Beautiful flowers in the spring and tons of amazing vistas. Well worth the couple of bucks.
Visitor center was nice, but couldn't hike any trails because of our dogs. I don't understand the purpose of excluding dogs from hiking trails.
The desert is a beautiful place. There are so many Saguaro cacti so close together. They are majestic.
Don't miss the chance to view these majestic Saguaro. It is incredible that they live hundreds of years!
Beautiful place to go! You can take a short hike or a long hike. The sunset is gorgeous and there are great photo op places!
Loved the park and the visitor center. Was very green from all the moisture would have loved being there a few weeks later for all the desert blooms! I enjoyed lwarning more about the Saguaro's and how they grow and are a huge part of the ecosystem!
I didn't have the time I needed to explore but this was one of my most unique National Parks experiences. Flora unique to the landscape can't be found anywhere else. Visitor center staff were kind and smiles all around.
I only did the nature center I didn't go into the different hike paths. It's pretty nice. I didn't have much time.
Awesome area showing off great South West views!
Saguaro is certainly a nice park with solid facilities and access to some of the most interesting plants on the planet. It just doesn't compare with other national parks on scope, facilities, or service. I drove around a lot, hiked a bit, …
There's a lot of trails to choose from! Most people can find a trail for them. Watch out for little cactuses! They can get stuck to your shoes! Otherwise, there's some really breathtaking views of the city and the sky from the mountain. Sunset and sunrise are great!
I always enjoy a drive through the park and a bit of hiking! Great views and lots to see!
very beautiful when i went in the evening. the shadows and lighting were cool.
We made the trek to Saguaro National Park on our way from Phoenix to Tucson. It was an easy drive and an excellent way to see the state along our commute. If you’re just passing through and don’t have time to explore the entire park, swing by the visitor center and some of the many pullout stations for beautiful views.
Great place to site see.
This is a great national park, the saguaro cactus are so plentiful. The drive through this park feels like you left civilization and entered a zone of zombies looking down on you. The visitor center is informative and educational. The center has friendly and helpful staff, just need to sell some bottled water. The drive around the park has so many turnoffs it makes it easy to snap a photo.
With its towering Saguaros and abundant wildlife, you'll love the serenity it has to offer.
So cool, figuratively
This park with its hike up to Rincon Peak is challenging and beautiful. Plan on spending at least 12 hours if you plan to go to the top and come back down
What an incredible place. The rangers at the Visitors Center were very helpful. The Saguaro Cactus are beautiful. I can't believe how big some of them are!
Well-maintained trails and informational placards on vegetation and wildlife. Docents inside the visitor center are very helpful and knowledgeable. Kudos to Doris! The unpaved dirt road is hard-packed, but not much dust.
Beautiful at sunset. As dusk fell, saw rattlesnake, tarantula, and scorpion. Very cool. Well marked trails made it easy.
What a beautiful place! Awesome hiking, picnicking,, photography opportunities,..so much in one place!! Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, proper clothing are a must. But that's just my suggestion . Enjoy your hike or picnic!!
This place is great. hot but great! I want to hike the trails when it's cooler
It's a place of beauty. Considering the cacti were once trees and adapted to the environment is amazing.
Not much to see other than the cacti. Given, 20' tall cacti are awesome. It's really hot in the summer, but I imagine in the winter it would be much better.
A beautiful park. Just make sure you pack plenty of water.
It is a beautiful park full of the most amazing amount and amazing size of saguaro cacti! The scenery is amazing. The countless native cacti and plants sometimes feels like you're on an alien planet. The Spring is when it all blooms. There are tons of great trails.
Great rolling hills to ride through
Beautiful scenery! The saguaros are blooming and majestic! If you love the desert, you must visit Saguaro National Park!
Just did a drive through. So beautiful
Great place to see the magic of the Sonoran Desert. Both the East and West location have their own magic. Go for a drive, hike or even a bike ride and enjoy this beautiful treasure and all the wild life that abounds.
Great place to be. I recommend that you buy the National Park pass for $80 usd if you’re planning on visiting more national parks.
One of the best places I've ever visited!
Amazing. Hundreds, thousands of classic western cowboy movie cactus making a forest of cactus rather than trees! Beautiful. Thank goodness it is protected and preserved from developers and city growth. Worth the easy access to drive through or hike.
Such a beautiful place to vist and have a picnic bathrooms at all picnic areas some are covered built to look like old rock cabins. Roads are maintained
Saguaro is a neat place to visit, but you can see plenty of Saguaro in the surrounding area. I wouldn't plan on staying more than 1 day in the park.
Really amazing place to visit as an example of desert ecosystems. Definitely a recommended stop for anyone who can stand the heat. There's also driving loop you can do, so you can still see a lot from in the car as well if you don't want to or are unable to get out and go on foot.
This was a really fun road trip. The park was amazing. We stopped at the the visitors center and we took several hikes. We took way more photos than expected... it was just that beautiful. The park is quite close to Tucson, so we stayed in Tucson and traveled through the park during the days. I would not hesitate to go back for another week.
Awesome place to go hiking, just don’t forget your water and sunscreen!!
The Saguaro gardens are unreal. So many pokey things. And the Hieroglyphs were really cool. Great little kids hikes everywhere.
A nice park with a big variety of plants/Cacti. Alot of it was blooming. It was beautiful.
Just an awesome place to see and visit. Amazing how they have been there so long. Lots of trails to do and a great driving route within the park to get up close and personal.
If you can't bare the sight of Tuscon, visit here before you leave, you'll get over it. Drive the off-road trail if time permits. Spectacular.
Absolutely gorgeous park, the only downfall is that dogs aren't suppose to be on the paved trails. I prefer the east side to the west side as there are more trails and it seems like more to see. It is nice going to the west side though to see the petroglyphs. Everyone there is very friendly. Highly recommend, just make sure to bring enough water and a hat.
Great visitor center with movie. Loop drive is good, but rough dirt road. Good trails, well maintained.
Loved seeing the flowers starting to come out. Will drive back next week to see them in full bloom !
If you are in the Tucson area and love hiking, would definitely recommend this national park! Rangers are knowledgeable and there are a variety of trails for various levels of experience
It was absolutely amazing.
Great place for a hike.
Must see when visiting south ARizona, very friendly place, amazing valley view, great collection
The best place to enjoy the view of Saguaro Cacti.
Great National Park! Lots of info on the park. Great knowledgeable people. Cool scenic drive! I will say if you do know Arizona there's many other places to go to see really Saguaro.
Gorgeous! We drove the rolling paved road and got out often to take pictures and decided to take a short hike. Wow it was a lot longer and way hotter than we expected. So no matter what take LOTS of water in a backpack. We hope to return again some day.
Smaller but beautiful NP split into two parts, East and West, many trails suitable for easy short hikes. A great day trip if you are in the area. Nice Visitor Center, friendly rangers, very informative nature trails.
Beautiful park! We had a great time driving around the loop and stopping to see the many sights. Although it was a little hot it was still a very enjoyable experience.
To me, the Sonoran Desert is one of the most beautiful deserts in the world. Love the huge saguaro cacti and barrel cacti - such a unique site to visit!
Nice hike, nice clean park. Loved it.
I really like it hear
This is a must-go place if you are visiting Tucson. In this national park, you get to see cacti that don't grow anywhere else in the world! The scenic drive allows you to take great pictures and to go at your own pace. I would highly recommend going to this park if you are visiting Tucson.
We came here on a rainy day, cool and comfortable. Different experience
Saguaro is a great Park as we are looking at moving very close and volunteering here so that is a great endorsement. We would drive up here every night to watch some spectacular sunsets and some of the hikes we want on we're very good. No complaints.
It's always so beautiful! This is not what the average person thinks what the desert looks like.
A great way to see the desert without leaving a trace. I always wanted to just walk across the desert and the trails here let you do that in a low impact way.
I went to Saguaro National Park East on May 23rd 2019 could we have had an unusually Cool Spring. So it was about 73 degrees when I was there in the afternoon and sunny which is almost unheard of and it was awesome. As far as national parks go it was very minimal but I give it five stars cuz I had a lot of fun and it was close to home The cacti were just starting to come into bloom. I was informed that Saguaro Bloom at night and as the day goes on the bloom decreases. I got there at around 1:30 in the afternoon. The blooms we're running late because of the cold weather. However I did get quite a few nice pictures of some fully In Bloom Saguaro. The Saguaro Forest is not that thick I was told it was much thicker in Saguaro National Park West. However it was pleasant and uncrowded and there were quite a few Saguaro blooms. And I just had a really nice time it was quiet peaceful and close to home. Not the most spectacular place but still a really great time anyway and I brought a lunch and spent about 4 hours there and drove the 8 Mile Loop and took a few mini hikes. I took about a hundred and forty pictures and after I edited through them I did keep about 50 really good ones so I would recommend it if you are local or live on the east side of town or in Cochise or Graham counties it is closed and easy to get home and you avoid the city traffic. But if you are from out of town But if you are from out of town and really want to see Saguaro National Park I would highly recommend going to the West District. And Bloom should starting around mid-may and they last about 2 weeks. They bloom a little later at Saguaro East because the altitude is higher and it is a little cooler
This is a great National Park to visit if you've never experienced the desert landscape. View a vast amount of Saguaro cacti, take the scenic drive, and see desert wildlife. As with most National Parks, there are plenty of hiking trails and beautiful views. Remember to bring plenty of water! Many people overlook the pace at which the desert climate dehydrates.
Hiking, nature, picnics well marked trails:)
I live out here
It was great!! Everywhere we went people were so very friendly and helpful would definitely return
Nice little family hike took the tram up and played in the water with my 2&4 year old boys and they loved it
All kinds of beautiful desert views
Great for a night bike ride and shooting star gazing.
Living in Kansas and never seeing cacti or deserts before, I was thrilled when this was our first stop in Arizona. So many different cacti to see and lots of stops to be able to get out of your car and take pictures
Meh. I'm not sure why this is a full fledged National Park. It's pretty, plenty of cacti, but frankly nothing that you can't see all over this part of the state.
Nice loop drive at the East part of the park. Great place to visit from Tucson, short 20 min drive. Sunset is beautiful low traffic and great place to see the sunset. Be careful when you hike to avoid the cactus needles if you hike. The needles can be painful and uncomfortable.
Loved the bug night there. The "Bug Lady" presentation was so much fun. Lots of audience participation, especially the children. You couldn't help but play along. She was great and I actually learned a lot.
Beautiful Saguaros and the Wildflowers were all in bloom. I hiked to Wasson Peak and it was a good hike! Would definitely recommend as a spring hike.
Wonderful park. Go early if you want to see wildlife.
Saguaro Nation a beautiful place every one should ✋ by
Really neat to see such a huge expanse of these amazing saguaro cactus as well as so many other plants and animals.
Oh my gosh. This is what we did our first day in Arizona. It was snowing in northern Minnesota but beautiful here. Absolutely beautiful cactus a great visitors Center so helpful with so much information. Extremely knowledgeable people working there. This is one beautiful National Park everyone should visit.
Don't let the summer temperatures turn you away -- fantastic 8-mile driving tour. You can see this amazing world from the comfort of your air conditioned car. There are plenty of place to pull over and take pictures. It is like entertaining another world and well worth the trip!
We visited the Rincon section of Saguaro and absolutely loved it. It's a nine Mile driving loop with a bunch of trails off of some of the stop points along the loop. We only spent a few hours here but definitely could have done more.
It was extremely hot! But well worth the trip! The Cacti are beautiful!
Gorgeous and well maintained national park. Saguaros are stunning. Kids enjoyed the activities in the visitor center.
Small but worth a visit. The highlight would be the 9 mile drive through the park. Speed limit is low the road narrow and thankfully mostly one way. Watch for bicycles as they are often faster than cars on the road. The Cactus Forrest hike is short approximately 2 miles.
Awesome! So many cactus in one location. Worth the drive
Visited twice. Generally, it is hot from May to October. Best time to visit is in the spring when everything is in bloom...around March. Stop at the visitor center for additional park information. If you're bringing little kids ask the Park Rangers for the Jr. Ranger Program workbook and they can earn a Jr. Ranger badge and be sworn in. Fun activity for the kids. Bring food and water, especially during the hotter times of the year.
Beautiful scenery.
The West side of Saguaro is a little different and much more populated by cactus compared to the east side. I have to say that I personally enjoyed hiking here a little more. But both are amazing. Definitely a learning experience!
Beautiful. The loop road is gravel but not bad to drive. A few potholes. Signal Hill.is where the petroglyphs are. You can get pretty close but, they are surrounded by rocks, which are full of rattlesnakes. Lizards are everywhere as well.
Awesome park! So many cacti! Great place to hike, look at the scenery, and bring the kids!
This place has it's own magic. Cacti getting ready to bloom across our incredible desert..
Just got back from visiting both saguaro parks. The west park was much better. Way more beautiful. The red hills visitor center was much nicer. There were more cactus. So if you only have time to visit one side. Go to the west side. You will not be disappointed. Very nice.
I loved this park! We stopped on the way home. It was beautiful and not crowded. Definitely worth the time if you love the desert with clean and quiet trails!
A nice paved 8 mile loop, from which other hikes can be accessed. I just walk with path, along with bicyclists and cars. Peaceful
Very nice place to hike. There a lot of different trails and you could hike multiple days without seeing the same thing twice. Plenty of wildlife and different trails ratings. I would highly recommend.
Spectacular saguaros and landscape. Too bad the entrance is kind of expensive ($20). You can see as or maybe more impressive landscape driving to Mount Lemmon. Of course if you have a yearly pass ($80 for all the parks) the entrance become free. That's what I ended up doing.
Gorgeous desert cacti. Definitely worth a visit
We love this park! We went for a short hike to see the old kilns. The brittle bushes are blooming, and added their beautiful yellow flowers against the mountains! Beautiful!
What a nice, peaceful, quiet place to enjoy cacti. Great views, great gift shop, even a picnic area where you can just sit and be in nature. Love this place!
Peaceful and quiet Tangue Verde. Guided walk very informative, walk ride on horseback beautiful. Up and down ravines, washes and gullies.
Beautiful day, beautiful trail
Beautiful drive through the loop. We got down so many times to take pictures and walk the paths. The first picnic area has a paved path that seemed wheelchair accessible. Saw beautiful birds, flowers, lizards, squirrels and butterflies!
Super cool desert scenery!
We caught the cacti in bloom. We saw lots of color that you don't often see. Plus we were on horseback from Houston Ranch.
I drive through the park to get to town every time, it's a beautiful place.
We visited from out of state. The kiddos loved going on the small trail and finding the clues to become a ranger. Thank you for a great day on our vacation and the memories we have created!
The Southwest has a majestic beauty that is unique to the rest of the world. With its towering Saguaros and abundant wildlife, you'll love the serenity it has to offer.
A beautiful place with spectacular view
Be nice if they had a playground
Such A beautiful place to live
The Sonoran Desert has a certain stark beauty and Saguaro National Park is a great place to experience this.
Arizona's Splendid Nature in display.
Beautiful place, look out for trees!
Absolutely beautiful park with great trails and an easy drive if you're not the walking type
Had a really nice visit of this park. We could see so much right from our car. The visitors center is really nice and staffed with friendly and knowledgeable people. We finished the day with the gravel road loop which was really neat. Don't miss doing up the Gates Pass which has great views and some nice trails
Stunning views, nature in all its splendir!
I grew up around Saguarro National West and have spent many years romping through it's trails, visiting the Desert Museum and enjoying it's beauty. Wildflower season is wonderful through the monument, I also enjoy fall when the wildlife is more active. I've had some wonderful encounters with little critters and birds. Saguarro bloom season is also pretty great! The visitor center is pretty amazing, facilities are well maintained and staff is knowledgeable and personable.
Great park to drive through and hike, lots of parking and far enough out of town the city folk aren't a problem...bring lots lots of water a shade hat and your camera. You won't be disappointed!!!
We try to visit all National Parks where we are vacationing and this park was one of the best ..the Rangers are very helpful and give you pointers on what to see with the amount of time you have available..heed their advice and take plenty of water in the park with you..no water available inside ..
Incredible- we had a wonderful time.
Beautiful park to drive through, too hot to hike. Admission is $20, cute gift store with friendly staff.
A great place to visit in the spring. Wildflowers into cactus in bloom just coat the desert floor with color. Park rangers are very nice and knowledgeable. I will be back to visit this park. Take your time enjoy and walk around.
Nice cacti, interesting scenery if you're a tourist
Love the loop drive. It got a bit too hot for a hike, so we missed out on the trails.
This is an amazing park with an astonishing variety of cacti. Saguaro are the stars but there's also cholla, prickly pear, palo verde trees and even flowers like poppies and datura. A horseback ride is a great way to see this park. Always, always bring water!
I have always enjoy the time I spent there, started since the year 1994,and going strong.
Absolutely beautiful and many places to take pictures. A place to visit over and over again.
The saguaros were in full bloom. The visitors center was very nice, the park rangers were able to answer our questions about the javalinas.
Unique ecosystem with a variety of cacti especially the saguero. The park also includes some of the mountains around Tucson.
Beautiful place to come and see the nature of the South West.
Nature at its best and most beautiful! One of my favorite places on Earth. Well taken care of. The facilities are always clean and stocked. The store is great and the people are knowledgeable! Will go back many times to come!!!
Loved it. Very interesting since we are used to the NE.
Pros: my wife says "super cool" friendly staff and clean. Great drive through for scenic view. Would be a great place to bike! Cons: drive through loop was great.. dont think I'd stay much longer than that. Not much there u less you want to camp with a cactus.
