You will be able to see the opinions of real people like you who buy the products and services of Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument (Park) in the state of Arizona.
At the moment the firm has a rating of 4.6 out of 5 and that rating was based on 1656 reviews.
You may have noticed that it reaches an feddbacks average is nearly the best one, and it's founded on a large number of feddbacks, so we can say that the score is very accurate. If there are many people who bothered to give their review when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to put opinions when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Park is classified in the category of National park.
I'm from Yosemite national park. Quite different from organ pipe. Both are spectacular in their own ways.I loved the Cacti here in organ pipe. People are friendly And certainly courteous. They go out of the way to help you out. I do advise coming in the cooler winter months. As during the summer it is overbearingly hot. Have fun!!!
Really enjoyed the 21-mile driving tour. RV park looked clean and comfortable also for rigs of all sizes.
Staff is informative, kind & helpful. The Ajo mountain loop took us 2.5 hours since we dawdled, but we wouldn't have wanted to spend less time. Campsites looked wonderful. Maybe next time we'll stay there.
I'd wanted to come back for 25 years! Finally made. The diversity, vastness and lushness of the Sonoran desert in spring never dissappoints. The visitors center personnel were very helpful and friendly. My only regret is I didn't plan for enough time!
Lots of fun. Very unique ecosystem, and lots of wildlife. Recommended.
Amazing scenery. Desert was in bloom which made it even better.
Grate places to go and have fun
Great place to experience the wildlife of the desert.
Great spot to camp, shower early solar heated.
My trip to Organ Pipe National Monument was nothing short of amazing. The Twin Peaks camp ground is large, with roomy spaces so you're not smooshed up against your neighbors. There are 174 RV (no hook-ups available), and 34 tent/car camping spaces. The neighboring Alamo Campground offers tent and car camping by way of four tent-only sites. Bathrooms are nice with running water, and a few have showers of the solar variety. When I arrived I noticed that almost everyone had their hoods propped open– pack rat warnings posted on information boards instructed campers to crack car hoods and keep food secured. Warnings that the area is within a smuggling zone appear frequently, and black helicopters fly overhead in the hiking areas. Victoria Mine is a 5.5 mile round-trip hike from the main campground (my phone noted the distance, which is slightly longer than the signage states). Hikers are asked to fill out a type of guest log detailing where they are headed and what time, in case of disappearance. Despite all the warnings of possible danger, I felt very safe the entire time I was out in the Sonoran Desert. I did find some of the black water bottles noted in the warning signs about illegal immigration and smuggling off of one of the well-traveled trails (see photos). The short version is that the Organ Pipe National Monument is a gorgeous area worth visiting. You'll enjoy a quiet stay in a beautiful area with nice amenities for a rather isolated camping area.
Not much going on here for young adults. But if you're older and cant move around well they have a very nice scenic drive through the park. Oh and there is no eating snacks in the welcome center.
Great vistas. This March is particularly spectacular due to heavy rains over the winter. Catch the max daily blooms around 2pm.
Stayed at the Twin Peaks campground. Well laid out, no hookups. Limited generator use. Excellent trails, a couple that are dog friendly. Nice sites, off-set and not too close together.
The best Desert Park in the Sonora Desert... u can see everything there and they have a good Broschüre for the Scenic Drive that explain everything in 21 Stops. Best Service i ever see in US Nationalparks and i see most of them in the West.
There isn't a bad national park. This one like all of them are unique. They represent what America's national treasures.
Very interesting place in a lot of cactus to see
Super friendly wait staff store maintained very clean food excellent great atmosphere
Wonderful place to visit. One of the rare place in the US where you can see Organ Pipe Cactus. I would recommend you to stop at the visitor center to get some information notably because the park is sharing one of its boundary with Mexico. A 4 wheeler with high clearance is recommended as the main two scenic loops of the park are dirt roads. Don't miss the hike to see the double arch!
What a great place to visit and camp. We did not have luck at the Alamo Canyon Campground, there are only four spots and all were taken. But Twin Peaks Campground did not disappoint. Plenty of spots to choose from, some have shade as well. With almost no moon light it felt you were the only one there. The night was quiet and the weather was perfect. You have tons of trails to choose from to hike, bike or drive. Well worth the drive.
Very beautiful in October
Looks like a cactus. Feels like a cactus. DO NOT WEAR FLIP FLOPS. If you do, you can get needles out by using two rocks and not your hands. Using your hands to remove a cactus is a great way to transfer the needles to your hands. Funny but painful haha
Pretty, but very out of the way and not worth the 2 hour drive from Tucson.
I absolutely loved doing the Ajo scenic drive- spent about 3 hours on it. In the ~20 hours I was at the park I saw about 2 dozen Border Patrol vehicles, so they definitely have a strong presence here. The visitor center has a real short trail that dogs are allowed on. Leaving from the main campground were 2 longer trails that were dog friendly but I didn't go on them. The 4 site campground in the northern part of the park is beautiful.
Not marked well got stuck way out on dingtoolies
Though some access to OPCNM is limited (visitor center is closed) the Twin Peaks CG is open, on-line reservation only, as are day use trails out of the campground. Bring your own TP and be prepared to pack out your trash. Dump station appears to be open and campground bathrooms are open. Water spigots are on. CG is no longer first come first serve. Please respect that aspect and pay in advance for your visit.
Amazing desert area. This is a must visit monument
Great place for hiking and site seeing
Beautiful desert area
We have visited this national monument each year since 2014. A favorite among many national parks and monuments. Great hikes, solar showers, drive through paved sites, and quiet nights. Best time to visit is January through March. Other months will have weather challenges.
If your wife like a cactus you will like it
We attended 3 evening ranger talks and two of then would be rated 1 and 2 for all talks I have sat through. Great presentations. Nice campground for self contained camping. The super bloom that is being talked about so much, definitely extended to this area. The flower displays were superb. The only negative is only 2 trails were open to dogs. We would have enjoyed a lot more hiking but could not safely leave our dogs confined.
Many variety desert flower. Visitor center A++
So well managed. This should be a model for other Federal land managers in parks and monuments. Pet walk area. Fresh water for holding tanks in RV dump area, and trash receptacles too for gloves. Perfect generator hours. Generator area away from non generator area in campground. Solar showers. Huge protected areas where impact is kept to a minimum. Clean, no trash. Well done. Thank you!
Raw nature at It's best!
Camping was awesome here, lots of animals to see.
This is a very nice national park and campground. However, the campground does not offer electricity (hence 4 stars rather than 5). The campground does have potable water and dump station.
A lovely drive with an assortment of cacti. There was even a double arch at the end and another you see on the way back. We saw a beautiful sunset leaving as well. The road was pretty well kept. We saw and assortment of birds and lost of rabbits. I know there is much more animals there we just didn't see.
Visit it before a border wall destroys it! The views are breathtaking! The trails are quite nice. Campground is pretty tight fitting with one site upon the other. The organ pipe cacti are beautiful!
This is a hidden gem of the American Southwest! Nowhere else we've ever been has the quality and variety of desert flora as does Organ Pipe National Monument. The Saguaro and Organ Pipe Cactus here are exceptionally beautiful and abundant. We drove the Ajo Mountain loop which is a mostly dirt road that goes about 21 miles through the desert. There is only one restroom facility on this route and no water so plan accordingly. The road is a bit rough in spots but nothing a regular car or van can't handle. There are several stops along the route where you can get out and hike or take a picnic. Be very careful of the cactus and especially stay away from the Cholla! They look almost fuzzy with spikes. They come off easily and go like hypodermic needles into your skin, but barbs make getting them back out very painful. We visited in the winter (January) and the weather was perfect 65 degrees. It gets much hotter in summer.
Absolutely gorgeous drive on the way to rocky point Mexico.
Beautiful, inspiring, majestic. Great lessons about the biodiversity and beauty of the wilderness. I wish there is more support for national monuments and wilderness areas, treasures for humanity..
Awesome place, went out for weekend camping. One of our stops.
Go off road! Don't be discouraged by the remote location, the vistas are worth it!
The natural beauty is absolutely incredible and breathtaking!
so beautiful!!! be prepared for gravel roads.
Such a beautiful, scenic park with very few tourists/visitors. It was such a peaceful experience with beautiful weather for camping and hiking.
Gorgeous and very interesting! Loved going there and seeing the cacti, flora and fauna.
GreAt location and park. Drive it or hike it. Only place in USA to see these cactus.
Excellent monument. Not too crowded. Excellent Ajo Mountain Drive. Takes a good few hours if one gets out and hikes. Can be scorching hot even in September, but it is also uncrowded and peaceful. We camped and hike and had no border issues
A cactus nature park and RV park in one. Nice short hike with annotations explaining the cactus along the way. There will be several types of cactus on your site. We had a very nice stay over several days. The showers are solar heated. We discovered this late in the evening AFTER the sun had gone down so plan your shower accordingly.
A good drive down to visitor centre just before Mexico. $25 wasn't worth going in I got plenty photos from stops on the way including a crested pipe cactus just north of mile 74 post on the west side.
Greatest, to me is even more interesting than saguaro np
Nice hike to an interesting narrow canyon with palm trees tucked in. Moderate difficulty do to lots of loose rock on the climb.
Really lovely scenery and amazing array of cacti and rock formations. More flowers than expected and a great guided drive on the Ajo Trail to the arches and back. Cool spot!
Stunning Park, beautifully laid-out campground and friendly staff...Don't wanna leave!
Great place to relax. Stayed in the campground which was clean, quiet and well maintained. We have a generator and people with generators are kept in one area and limited to 4 hours run-time a day. Another section for RV's without generators and a third area for tents.
An enjoyable and warm (thank goodness) National Monument! We escaped the winter weather of Kansas for the Arizona desert. The organ pipe cactus plants were very impressive. We stayed 3 nights in late February at Twin Peaks campground where we had big organ pipe cactus plants on both sides of our campsite. We enjoyed our drive along the border (and also the border crossing at Lukeville) The rangers at the Visitor's Center were knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Thanks for a wonderful time!
One beautiful day and one day it poured down rain. Beautiful desert flora
Would have loved to drive the scenic route - but or little Toyota just couldn't take the wash board road
Is absolutely amazing and beautiful, a must see experience.
I have found this to be a fantastic spot for photography . Yes it has comfortable sites but it also has posted generator hours. It is a bit out of the way but personally I think the hiking and vehicular trails make the drive worthwhile. The interpretive center is informative and when we visited we were treated to evening presentations in the outdoor amphitheater. Did I mention the sunsets? Spectacular!
Stayed overnight at Twin Peaks campground, very nice facilities! Only had half a day to explore, hiked out to Vitoria mine. It was a nice hike through the desert, especially if you're not from these area. Will definitely return to explore other parts of the park.
Very nice uncrowded park. Loved the campground and the driving trails. Worth a drive too go see the border fence and natural spring in southwest area of park.
Just visited Organ Pipe National Park. Was able to do the scenic drive ,well worth it,great scenery and views. Was also able to do some of the hikes out to the different mines in the park, beautiful. The only problem incountered was the number of people with dogs leashed and unleashed on trails that definitely said no dogs.I had questioned park staff on this and the response I got was they don't ticket people they just educate them. This seems to a growing problem in the parks now.Not every dog is friendly so carry protection. Also pick after your dogs just don't throw the bag in the under bush ,pack it out.
Such an awesome place with fantastic dark skies at night. A wonderful location for astrophotography.
Well worth the trip if you're in the area.
Very interesting, beautiful place, very close to Mexican border
Saw a few from the road but seems few and far between.
Did backroads. Beautiful scenery.
We thought this would be a sandy desert, but found it was a "green" one. Lots of plants, not just cacti. The loop drive with guide book, free from visitor center, is interesting and worthwhile. Would do hiking in cooler weather, but hit 110 plus. Will return.
Nice fortress of cacti. You admire all the cactus awed by the amount of cacti.
This place is a national monument really close to the Mexican border. For the most part it is a safe place to stay. Also they have a beautiful mountain loop that is good for either driving around or taking a hike up the trails. Overall it is a wonderful place to send the day look at all the cactus and breath taking desert scenes. They also have a camp ground where you can stay the night if needed.
Interesting place. Just passing by and pulled in to take some pics.
It’s well worth the trip! The cactus and the mountain are amazing.
Really friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful camping area and hiking trails.
Beautiful. I have not seen landscapes like this anywhere else.
Organ Pipe is a must stop in the SW Arizona area. The scenery is spectacular with great example of several varieties of several cactus species and other desert plants. A nice Visitor Center with super friendly staff. Twin Peaks Campground is one of the more attractive I've found in a National Park setting. The scenic drives are also exceptionally Attractive.
Hot but good picture's
Interesting place to visit
Awesome place. Though the campground has no power, water or sewer hookup, water is available throughout the campground and there is a dump station. Generators can be run from 8-10am and 4-6pm. Dark sky night country and many easy hiking trails. Very beautiful place.
One of the most beautifully designed campgrounds I’ve ever stayed in!
If you enjoy climbing, take a day and climb Mount Ajo...its worth every step!
Very pretty, make the trip so see this area. Very dense cactus populations compared to other parts of the state.
Campground is open. This is a good place for quiet camping. They expanded the " no generator" section this year. Don't you wish everyone had solar?
What a phenomenal place to visit. Best to go before really hot weather. Saw lovely desert flowers.
We spent 3 days hiking the trails. I loved the visitors center which was very informative. I must visit when you are in the Ajo AZ area.
A beautiful monument to desert cactus. Making the drive from Puerto Penasco so much more interesting
Rugged and austere area, but stunningly beautiful all the same. Loads of scenic vistas and gorgeous desert landscapes. Do yourself a favor and experience a sunrise or sunset over the mountains here. It will take your breath away.
Worth the stop for neat photos otw to Mexico.
Amazing and picturesque.
Just stayed one night was very quiet there was only us and the camp host in the entire park it was a hot night and at 10:05 the camp host told us to turn off our generator or leave.
Great example of Sonoran desert. Two drives to take plus trails.
Cool place to stop and take a break.
Beautiful scenery and plants. Great hiking and drives.
Wonderful scenery good maps would love to go back
Fantastic National Monument that few people visit. Look at the pictures to see the beauty
Getting in touch with mother nature its the best!
Beautiful Saguaro and especially Organ Pipe cactus in a hot desert with amazing, dark night sky
A great place. Showers and clean bathrooms - unfortunately now you must have reservations. Since this is a far away camp spot i would say you better be certain you have a reservation, since we witnessed a LOT of campers turned away then having to figure where else they were going. Not much else around. Ajo is the nearest town.
Chock full of awesome cactus specimens. Nice hiking trails to Lost Cabin. Nice views from camp site.
Out in the boonies but an awesome experience taking the Ajo Mountain scenic loop. 21 miles of Sonoran heaven. Cacti galore and the views of the desert landscape is breathtaking...
The most serene hiking I've ever done out West --- my sister & I had the place where we hiked up to an "arch" all to ourselves!!! Awesome inspiring scenery! At one point I stopped & stretched my arms up into the air in THANKS for this gift of experiencing all the beauty of Organ Pipe National Monument!!!
Excellent campground. Superb toilet and shower facility. Nice little hike st campground. Nice staff. Cant go wrong here.
Great views every where you look at, nice area to bike and hike (main hiking trails or main roads only) definitely a must visit place. Take a look at the sky at night and you will be amazed. There's maps along the main entrance roads, you must visit the visitors center to pay the fee for a permit which allows you to be in the park. Be careful out there, never hike by yourself, do not attempt to hike during the summer or hot months (May thru September) it gets pretty hot out there (116° hot) from October to March it gets cold during the day and freezing cold at night.
A beautiful area to explore and hike. Ranger Sullivan took the extra time to teach the kids about each cactus species. Definitely worth the drive. Don't miss it!
The road is a little rough for an RV but was still worthwhile.
They should really invest more in this place it has great potential.
This place is awesome. If you love that open desert feel with big large skies This is the place to sit in kickback and relax. It is a very unique place to be able to find different species of cactuses that lie here in the States. I never really realized that there was so many different varieties of types. Not only that the variety of desert animals that strive off of this area. That are able to adapt and live in such harsh environment. I was only able to drive through. I definitely plan on visiting this area later on this year when it actually cools down It was pretty hot the day I had visited.
A beautiful preserve!! I loved the loop drive, but it was a little tough for my little Ford Focus. Looks like some beautiful trails that would be perfect for a winter hike! Not sure if I would return, seeing how I was coming from Tucson and there’s so much around there, but I am very very very happy I went.
Organ pipe is one of my favorite places to visit. I'm never disappointed here. I've camped, hiked, driven thought many times and I'm still impressed with the biodiversity of this area. I look most forward to March through May and make many small trip here every year. The wildlife is what I look forward to observing, I have a running life list of reptiles, mammals, birds, insects, and plant life. I've been working on for the last 15 years. This place is where I feel most calm and I can't wait till i get another chance to visit. I have brought many friends and my family here to enjoy this beautiful resource.
Stopped here on our way to Mexico. I had wanted to see the Organ Pipe Cactus for a long time. I was very impressed with there uniqueness . Looked in the visitor center. Spoke with the staff who knew everything about cacti. Very enjoyable.
One of my favorite National Park. Bull Posture trail is amazing.
Well worth a visit. This park is fascinating, especially for someone unfamiliar with the desert. The park rangers were knowledgeable and helpful. We attended a ranger talk at the campground that was very informative.
Great trip to Puerto Penasco!!
It's always gorgeous if you love the Southwest.
Organ Pipe is takes a little extra effort to get to, a fact which keeps it from being overrun by throngs of people. It's possible to go on the most popular hikes and only see a couple people in an hour. The geology is fantastic. The biology fascinating. I loved every minute and hated leaving.
7 hour drive from San Diego and worth it. What a place, with all the rain the flowers were incredible.
The cacti here are amazing! Desert flowers blooming in abundance as well along the freeway.
This place is amazing, the landscape is completely unique, the grounds are very well kept and the staff are incredible. This park offers RV camping as well as free camping and the trails range from easy to difficult.
The Ranger, Cathy, was helpful and friendly. The park facility was nice with an inviting Ranger Station and clean restrooms. We took the 21 mile, largely gravel, loop. The scenery and cacti were beautiful. This area of Arizona is the only area the Organ Pipe cactus grow as they can not tolerate freezing. The Monument is definitely off the beaten path-We found the trip well worthwhile.
Visitor center and all shut down due to Govt. shut down, but still enjoyed the loop thru the monument. The saguaro cactus are fascinating and totally awesome.
Definitely worth the drive if you're a fan of the saguaro cactus. it's pretty close to the border with Mexico and there are signs warning you about possible illegal activity but I didn't see any of that and I felt perfectly safe. Nothing like the cactus forest!
Great Visitors Center, gift shop, mini museum. The long loops out into the desert are fantastic! Take your 4wd!
This is truly an American treasure of the South West. The beauty of this desert is un matched anywhere as it is the only desert with Stately Saguaros. Awesome Federal Facility to allow close up experience of this desert.
An amazing place to visit. They also have campsites!
Love coming here to camp. Trails are good. Restrooms are very clean. Solar showers
Great pit stop spot after coming back state side! USA USA USA
It's a long drive to get there but interesting to see.
Awesome place to visit and hike. Great place to park RV's. But you are boondocking, so plan on it. Level sites and not to crowded. Very hot in summer but winter was perfect.
Pass through here on the way to Puerto Penasco. I would not come here otherwise. In fact, I'd be angry if I drove all the way here just for the "monument".
An awesome experience for someone like me who's never been to the desert. I highly recommend it.
Lots of camping pull in sites. Can be loud with generators. Beautiful stop!
It was wonderful. This place changed my mind about desserts. This was my first time to see a beautiful dessert with such colorful wild flowers and tall
Favorite place for spring desert wildflower blooms. Ajo lily, globe mallow, barrel cactus among others bloom at various times from March to June. Highly recommended.
An awesome place to visit!!!
Love this place e. Great food.
Delightful hikes, especially at sunrise. Incredible staff, especially Chelsea who went WAY beyond what was expected to help me recover my backpack.
Cactus Cactus Cactus eeeeeeverywhere. Not my type of autdoor park.
Staff is very helpful and informative. We had been here last year and enjoyed the scenic drive . This year we brought our friends so they could enjoy.
Great for 2 tracking & 4 wheeling, 5here is a campground as well, but I stayed elsewhere
If you don't believe a desert can be beautiful, you need to visit this National Monument. It is spectacular. Of course, choose your visit time period carefully to avoid the extreme heat of summer. Our only gripe is that the solar-powered showers in the campground seldom produce water hot enough for a satisfying shower. Either that, or (as a campground host claimed), the water is far too hot at first, so the first user of the day runs the water until it cools off and it never heats up adequately again that day.
Great place to visit, very unique. They have Ranger talks ... informative & fun! RV spacing is decent, can't hear your neighbors TV. Picnic tables are always a nice touch too. An annual stop for us before going across the border & down to Puerto Peñasco
Beautiful park. Huge campground with only dry camping. We stayed 3 days, could have stayed more.
The most beautiful park we have camped in Arizona!
Driving through the Sonoran Desert on our way to Puerto Penasco. Mexico, we stopped at Organ Pipe Cactus National Park and wandered through a forest is amazing cactus. It is a surreal and beautiful terrain.
Awesome day trip. Perfect place to hike.
Yup lives up to its name. Cactuses EVERYWHERE!
Great staff -- knowledgeable and helpful. Wonderful wild scenic roads and trails; a real desert experience.
Awesome scenery great park nice facilities
The Ajo Mountain Scenic Loop road was incredible! Took all of the 4 hours recommended for this gorgeous drive. It's a little off the beaten path along the Mexican border, but a must see for Desert Lovers.
Amazing place to visit, looks like a different planet or something. Info center was neat, clean and well stocked with appropriate items. Staff was friendly and restrooms were very clean. If you plan on driving the Ajo loop road allow 3 hours because you're going to be stopping a lot to get up close to the huge cactus assortment. Recommend.
Really nice rest stop centered in a preserve. Last clean (and free) public bathroom before crossing the border.
Very Clean campground, Beautiful surroundings
Lovely scenery. Definitely with a visit. If your a non US citizen, take your passport as there's border control posts on the road leaving the national park.
Always love this place, quiet and good water. Enjoyable camping!
Very cool. But we just drove through. The signs warnings of the dangers and probability of human trafficking kept is in the car.
A beautiful place to visit. Spectacular views of Sonoran Desert. A few hikes are available from easy to difficult. Some areas show obvious signs of illegal smuggling from Mexico, but so far the park seems pretty safe. Not so much in the middle of the summer as temps reach 100 plus. I will definitely visit again.
Great park. Very interesting. My husband and enjoyed it more than Bryce and Joshua Tree. We will come back for sure!
