This Park is classified in the category of State park.
Cool place to see. Make sure to walk around the top as the views are neat from different angles. Place has bathrooms and places to have a picnic lunch as well.
This little Utah State Park is very easy to pass by when you're traveling through Mexican Hat. The park entry fee is only $5 and the entire public area amounts to little more than a picnic ground. However, after visiting Monument Valley and other areas in the southwest this place was truly an unexpected and breathtaking surprise! I have heard we live along the banks of the San Juan river near Bloomfield New Mexico and it is amazing to see the Beautiful and all inspiring sculpture that this River has done here.
Talk about the hidden gem of the West! I was originally going to stay in Mexican Hat, UT but stumbled across this place by accident. The State Park is small I guess and you really go for the view more than anything. At the the time of writing this, the fee was $5 to enter and $10 to camp (which included your entrance fee). There were some shaded picnic tables and a restroom. Insanely peace and quiet with amazing views of Monument Valley in the distance. Great place to stay if you plan to visit Valley of The Gods or the Four Corner Monument. Not much hiking from what I saw but that was fine too.
The most spectacular view of river erosion
Camping under the stars at its best. $10 for this incredible place is unbelievable! If you don't need hookups and like privacy, this is the place.
Well worth a visit. As good if not better pictorially than horseshoe bend.
Stayed here in an RV overnight and it great! Not a big place so there’s not many places to park. You can see so many stars at night. It was absolutely beautiful.
Amazing view!
Great place to visit. Was completely unaware of the gooseneck until recently. Like horseshoe bend x3
Beautiful side trip, worth the few dollars to get the car in for the vew.
$5 gives you a decent toilet and a view of some grey green goosenecks. That's about it.
Spent one night here and would recommend to anyone to check it out. Camp is $10 per nt.
Amazing views of the canyon. Boon-docking only. You can camp on the edge, looking down 1,000 feet to the river. $10 to camp over nite. Probably one of the few no hookups I would give 5 Stars. A must visit.
Such an amazing sight to see! Panoramic pics are the best to take here. Very spacious parking and it's $5 per vehicle. Just be careful if walking around the edges, some areas are not roped off or fenced.
Beautiful sight seeing here! $5 to park and $10 to camp. A nice place to stop by during your travels or to stay overnight.
Great camping right on the rim.
Very small state park but the way the river winds through it is amazing. Definitely a quick stop for photos, but worth it
Improved a lot since we were there several years ago. View was wonderful. Met young couple from Poland and discussed their trip.
Amazing views, certainly a place to visit on a way from Utah to Grand Canyon.
Stellar view. Stopped by here during a crazy lightning storm. So amazing.
Good place to take pictures. Interesting views.
If you're in the area, Goosenecks is well worth the stop. It's reminiscent of Dead Horse point or Horseshoe Bend but without the crowds.
Best view, far less tourist than Grand Canyon
Incredible view of the San Juan River as it winds through this area. There is camping there.
AMAZING place to stay in an RV. You can pull right up to within 15 of the 1000 foot deep canyon. Great base camp to explore Monument Valley and the surrounding area. Can bet the $10 per night price either. Super quiet are night with most spots about 100 feet from your closest neighbor.
Like Horseshoe Bend but 3 times better. Benefits of driving thru Monument Valley and Moki Dugway make this a worthy destination. Quiet park with stunning views.
That state park is about 30 minutes driving from US 163. Turn from the main road and visit that amazing site. Take your time and make some pictures and selfies. Enjoy the beautiful place and don't miss it.
A nice State Park with a spectacular scenery overlooking the goosenecks carved by the San Juan River over the centuries (and more). It used to be quite "barren" but there is now a toll gate and some sheltered tables and even some camp sites. A highly recommended stop when leaving Mexican Hat towards the East.
It's a nice very tiny park but the bend does not offer much
Easily one of the most impressive geological sites that you will ever see. It will stick with you for the rest of your life.
My daughter and I camped out here. Very quiet and peaceful
Awesome views from the edge
300 million years, just Wow
This short drive off of Hwy 163 is well worth the stop. There is a $5/vehicle fee to enter the small state park, which hosts a few picnic tables, a bathroom, and an amazing view of the winding canyons with the San Juan River below. The river only advances 1.5 miles with 6 miles of meandering! There is a basic campground available in the park for $10/night.
Fantastic place, and nearly deserted. Good place for short, easy holes. Nice place to have a picknic lunch. Worth the $5 fee.
Dont forget camping chairs lol This is a cool place to go if your trying to look at stars but be sure to yo when theres no moon. But if your going here to hike you came to the wrong place. There isn't much to do but take pictures and walk the ridge. Come in the evening for a fire and stars though.
5 Stars as it's completely amazing. $5 to get in, which is fair. There are toilets but no water. The park was not crowded at all on a Sunday morning in June. The Goosenecks are amazing, go to see them!
It is $5 per car to get into the “park”. It is mostly for the view. And it is a very good view. Very unique. Similar to Horseshoe Bend. It is worth the $5. There are a few picnic tables. There is a dirt road to drive a ways on. Not sure where it goes. It is a small park.
Inspirational view of beautiful geological gorge formation!
I'm not able to describe something beyond description!
River wonder
Simply breathtaking! Check one more thing 9ff of my bucket list!
Great views of the canyon. $5 to get in but there is nothing but the overlook to do. The pit toilets are typical and stocked.
Very nice and small, remote State Park. Camping is very scenic at the edge of the canyon with a pretty overlook over the Goosenecks of San Juan River. No water, no hookups, just you and the wast nature of this spot. Nice for sunsets, star gazing and sun rises!
One of our favorite places in the USA.
Yet another place that illustrates geologic history with, pardon the pun, a bend, a horseshoe bend to be more precise. The place is desolate and windy but what views! Limited but fun trails and abundant opportunities for theme setting photography. Saw a pair of RVs that appeared to have stayed overnight but be warned that facilities are limited. Unlike some of the other horseshoe bends in the state where greenery abounds, this one is pure rock. This site has three advantages over the other sites: you can frame your landscape photos without others getting in the way, you get out of your vehicle and view it (no need to trample sand for a mile) and no need to climb precarious rocks to get the right composition.
It was a long drive to get here, but the geology was worth it if you enjoy these features. The river bends and cliffs are very impressive, but that's all there is folks.
Quick short stop at something amazing. Bring your own lunch! Tables, etc. Free!
It was nice. But it didn’t worth the drive and the fee in my opinion. At least in summer!
Cash only... great place to stop by.... beautiful views all around... attendant was very very nice
Fantastic views. To be seen in person. No picture will ever give the sheer size and magnificence of this incredible piece of nature’s art.
The so-called state park seemed to me just a parking lot next to the winding river. But it worths the short side trip and the $5 admission. The place is like nowhere else. The park caretaker was a friendly fellow, serving us in the middle of nothing. I guess there's no water, no sewage, no electricity, no cable TV. He survived on his RV.
Breath taking! A must see!
What a beautiful place to visit or to boon dock
The Goosenecks were so impressive. Recommend to see them. Best part of the day
This is a truly amazing experience, just to stand there and look at the vast nature at your feet and the river flowing down below. It is definitely one of those little known wonderful secrets of this great country!
Not horseshoe bend, but I wouldn't miss it if you are out that way. Road goes right up to it and much quieter than horseshoe bend, and there's TWO!
Great views, stopped for lunch, not crowded. $5 per car.
I guess you have to go in the price was reasonable five bucks but it was a short trip for a quick picture
So beautiful
Amazing scenery!
The park area is small. Nothing besides the gooseneck.
Extremely cool place with not many crowds. I think the $5 fee simply to view is crazy, but still affordable and worth it.
Wonderful overview over the bends in the river. A true wonder of nature.
Great overnight camping, we saw every star in existence that night!! Awoke to an awesome view of the sun rise and the River bend!
Epic views! Very impressive! The pictures cannot make the place justice!
Great place to dry camp. View fabulous
Very cool the entrance fee was $5 up to 8 people. Bathroom facilities were clean. Has nice covered picnic tables. Doubtful you will spend much more than a hour there.
This is a spectacular canyon of San Juan River. The views are surreal. There is no hiking trail and it can get very hot. Bring your own water.
Gorgeous views of the river and the geology. Far more impressive than Horseshoe Bend. Not too far off main highway.. $10 overnight camping. First in first served. No running water; bring your own. Toilet block with the usual drop toilets. No bears! Rarely a bobcat or coyote. RVs and tenting sites. If you love stargazing this is THE best place! No lightwash. Horizon to horizon views of stars. Very quiet. Sunsets and sunrises will amaze you. No Verizon connection but T - mobile worked.
If you're into scenery it's worth the drive. Also a cool off the beaten path place to picnic or camp.
Had to pay a fee... But the views were amazing.
Amazing area and campground on the edge!
A nice state park to stop and stretch your legs. Peer out over the edge of the Gooseneck!
Very cool canyon with a winding river. There is a state park fee of 20$ which is a bit much.
Stunning! Just... incredible!
Great for Rv/ Car camping. Beautiful views. Has a bathroom. Overnight camping $10. Great spot to stop overnight
photo tip - take pictures in panoramic view ( do not complete the entire panoramic pic - cut it at 70% as to make the picture big enough - full panoramic view will make the pic smaller )
Really neat park to visit, very interesting meandering river. $5 charge to enter for the day, or $10 per night camping fee. The day use area had shelters and picnic tables, there are pit toilets. The overnight camping area was gravel with a great view of the goosenecks. This would be a great park to overnight in and then hit monument valley the next day.
It was pretty great. I mean it really seems like a goose neck. Overlooking a deep meander of the San Juan River, I felt the greatness of nature. It located near the monument valley, so that I recommend you to visit here if you have a plan to visit the monument valley.
This is actually a terrific gem in Utah. People rave about 'Big Bend' for having one bend, but Goosenecks has three. Not as colorful and the rocks are mostly grey, but majestic and spectacular nonetheless. There are virtually no tourists here, the sunsets are breathtaking, and there really isn't (to my knowledge) any place like it.
Very nice place, quiet, natural, breath taking, a must see and it makes you very humble knowing there are such places on our beautiful planet.
Awesome view of the San Juan River as it snakes it's way through the desert, carving a deep canyon. From the rim, that view is similar to a miniature Grand Canyon. The access is limited for vehicular traffic, somewhat better for off road vehicles. An interesting side trip for anyone in the vicinity.
A quick stop. Costs $5 to get in and $10 to camp. Camp sites have fire pits.
Beautiful view.
This place is off the beaten track. We found out about it through people in Bluff and are so glad we did! The drive in has great views across the plateau. But the real show stopper is when you get to the end of the road and walk to the edge. The canyon opens up before you and is carved into fluid curves by the San Juan River that snakes around numerous bends. The canyon orange, purple and grey colours are layered horizontally throughout the rocks and the river is a brilliant green. Well worth a visit!
Fantastic smaller version of the Grand Canyon. Spectacular. No crowds. Well worth the detour from usual tourist itineraries.
Goosenecks State Park is definitely worth a visit if you're passing. The incredible twisty river formation can be viewed in all its glory from the parking area at the end of the road.
Beautiful double horseshoe bend. We visited last month, it was not crowded. There is $5 entrance fee. Restrooms are near entry station. We visited when wildflowers were bloomed, it was beautiful.
Second visit. Honeymoon 20 years ago and 20 years later.
Worth seeing
A hidden gem worth the detour if you are nearby (visiting Monument Valley, typically). There's a single point of view, but It's breathtaking.
Very interesting the way the river winds through & gorgeous panorama!
Amazing. Very accessible. Only $5 fee for the National Parks Service. Must do
This is a nice place to stop on the way through. Not much here other then an overlook and a basic campsite. You are exposed to the elements, be aware if there is inclement weather. The views were awesome though. Worth stopping.
Nice view of you've never been here before. In her first visit, my wife thought it wasn't worth the $5 entrance fee.
It's a nice little picnic area with great views. However, when I was there the wind was blowing up from the canyon at about 40 mph. The wind and associated dust storm made it impossible to enjoy the park.
Visited in February 19 we were the only three at the spot! Really nice view and the sound of the river up there in the silence of the spot when you’re alone there is fantastic!
This out of the way state park is worth stopping by. It has the look of Horseshoe Bend but you don't have to walk the mile to see it.
Underrated park im an area filled with great parks and views. Cool, unique view like Horseshoe Bend, but with hardly any people. Does allow for camping.
small state park with minimal services, but a very interesting view. I would think there would be better amenities for the price, but the entrance fee is minimal and still a small price to pay for the view.
Worth the short detour between Moab and Monument Valley. If one has the time, consider driving through 'Valley of God's'
A must see attraction - absolutely amazing example of the forces of nature
This is a short drive to a spectacular view, well worth the $5 entry fee. Picnic area and facilities available. Don't miss this. It won't take much time but it is totally worth it.
Double horseshoe bend of the river San Juan is double size then horseshoe bend close the city Page. What's more, there is no people compare with the Page's bend. I love the both of those. It is unbelievable that the land could make so unexpected shapes and amazing views.
Amazing place. Great view
Just a few minutes off the main road into monument valley and worth the extra drive. It's only $5 for a car to get in and it's an amazing view of the river. If you've ever been to horseshoe bend, this blows it away.
This is a great park to visit. Rode in on my Harley with my fiance and was planning on camping .. but when we got there we realized it was Rocky gravel on the edge of cliffs to camp on and we decided to head back to Mexican hat and sleep in the inn on the river. If your camping on the ground think twice. Also not a place to let your dog off your leash it's very dangerous.. Lastly the view was breath taking.. like a miniature grand canyon
Great overlook. They allow camping. No hook ups.
Amazing site, must see!
It's surreal, and the violent wind added to that feeling.
This has to be one of the most underrated and little-known parks in the west. The Colorado river does a double switchback here so you can see the river 4 separate time by standing in one place. Can’t miss if you’re headed to Monument Valley! Worth the short 5mile drive out of the way!
Really cool to see
The view is very nice, but the park itself isn't much. Just some areas to camp and a pit toilet. Felt the price to get in just to see the river meander was a bit much.
A quick, but stunning stop on the way through Monument Valley! $5 entrance/car fee
Beautiful location. Amazing view. Highly recommended. Entrance to the so called park costs $5 which gives you access to see the gooseneck and that's all, however these are the best $5 you'll spend around here.
Such a beautiful view. We really recommend to see the sunrise. Only minor downside. smelly toilets.
Cool place
Amazing view. But the park only has very limited facilities.
The view was nice, but that is really all there is to it. I wouldn't call it a park. It's $5/vehicle to get in, $10/night if camping. We were there about 30 mins. Saw it once and won't be back. Worth seeing once though.
Great view. Camp sites limited
A must stop.
First time here with my son! Love the view! Very awesome place to visit!
It's a bit out of the way, but if you have the time it's an interesting stop. They have picnic tables all around the site. We wished we'd brought something to enjoy the time there as there wasn't much else to do. The double switchback is the only one of it's kind in the world. When we were there the river was running very red making for a surreal scene.
I seen many river goosenecks but this one took my breath away. And since it is so out of the way, we had it all to ourselves. Spectacular!
Absolutely love Goosenecks State Park. Very easy to see the overlook. You don't have to be in good shape, no hiking required. It's one of the cheaper state parks to visit in Utah and it's really pretty.
Meh. Cool geography, not very colorful. Might be possible to get nice black and white photos here.
An absolutely beautiful view. The actual viewpoint is somewhat small, maybe about an acre, but the canyon bellow is breathtaking. Fee is $5 to stay around for a while. There are some places for camping. Would definitely visit again!
Great place with incredible views, there was only a few other people there. Make sure you take a drive or walk past the parking lot along the rim and get different perspectives. Not far away is the road that leads to Mexican Hat rock which was pretty cool too.
Incredible views of the Goosenecks and good, exposed camping on the edge of the canyon. Not very suitable for tents or in bad weather. We enjoyed it in our camper and had an excellent campfire under the stars.
There isn't really much here, good views. Probably could be better with a good camera, or piece multiple shots together. Bring Cash! It's in the middle of nowhere off the main highway.
Fee was five frogskins
Great piece of natural architecture curved by San Juan river. Not crowded. Worth visiting.
This is not a very well known spot, but you will be glad you take the drive from Natural Bridges National Monument down to Mexican Hat. Not only will you get to drive the gravel switchbacks of Moki Dugway, you will have a chance to take this short drive off the road to Goosenecks State Park, where you will get an impressive view of bends in the San Juan River. The area is desolate and remote, but the view is incredible. You will likely have the viewpoint to yourself. Great views.
very beautiful State Park. Approximately $6 admission. On the honor system after hours. Combine it with a visit to the Moki dugway as well as muley point valley of the gods for a wonderful day of touring. Nice place for a picnic although not much shelter from the sun. It seemed to be a good place for camping has many people were camping there. Very close to Mexican hat
a short drive from the freeway gives you this incredible overlook into a natural feature carved Into the rocks by millions of years of flowing water
Great place for pictures
Amazing location. I went in mid November and there was no attendant and I had the place all to myself. A bit outside Mexican Hat and overlooked by the droves of tourists heading to places like Monument Valley, etc. highly recommend it if you have your own food and water and essentials. Hidden gem!!!
Quiet and beautiful views.
Unbelievable view of one of Gods most amazing creations.
Although this is dry camping and the road after entering is rocky and bumpy, the view of the horseshoe bend of the Colorado River was well worth it!
Great place for dry camping!! Amazing views! Parts of the camping area can be rough so go slow!! But can't beat this for $10 a night!! We will be back!!
Went there before 7 am to film sunrise. Beautiful scenery.
Beautiful area to see red rock formations.
The goosenecks were ok, but not as pretty as some others since it's mainly just one color - gray/dark.
Very remote area, but the view is spectacular. It has a nice parking area next to the river and some picnic tables were set there.
Great camp spot and views. Most not developed but nature takes the focus.
One of Utah's best kept secrets...Gooseneck State park...sorry to say it doesn't get the press it deserves...since it competes with Utah's Great 5 National Parks...this park is well worth the effort to pay a visit and work your way north to Natural Bridges National monument along route 261. The view of Valley of the Gods is spectacular enroute to the Bridges
We ended up here as a last resort for a place to stay on our RV trip. There are 9 campsites all first come first served. We rolled in after dark the first week of April and there were still 3 sites available. However it seems like there were 4-5 vehicles farther down the road beyond the sites and nobody gave them any trouble. We didn’t experience any windy conditions. It was only $10 for the night. 4 of the campsites are right on the cliff. The fire pit is literally 15 feet from a 20-30 ft drop. That’s amazing, but beware if you have young children.
Loved it!
Definitely not one of Utah's major attractions, but if you have some extra time, it's worth the trip to see the San Juan river meander across the countryside.
Make sure you watch the sunset and sunrise.
Most scenic bends.
This is like a more intense version of Horseshoe Bend, with more loops but less clear water. The view is amazing, and there is quite a bit of climbing you can do if you're feeling adventurous.
Definitely worth the 5 buck entry
Very scenic great hike
Just an amazing view, but that’s enough. Easy side trip from Monument Valley.
The view over the cliff is so dramatic! But then there was a ferocious storm, and we were worried about our gear getting blown over that same cliff!
