The grounds are extremely well kept. The picnic pavilion and surrounding area was perfect for the family to celebrate a birthday and enjoy each other's company. I would definitely recommend a visit.

We took the family to the park for Confederate Memorial Day. It was awesome! They had a wreath laying, musket and cannon salute and a reenactment. Wonderful museum here!! It was a great walk through history for my family.

You cannot understand the South and Alabama without learning about the Civil War, and this Museum and Park tell you about little known part of that history, a home for indigent Confederate soldiers and their wives. The Museum tells a really great story, including a letter by the gentleman who started the place writing a letter describing a leader of Union soldiers who was willing to contribute to this cause. Let bygones be bygones.

My kids and I had a good time. We learned a lot about our history. The library you can look up your family members. There is 180 books that you can read about the war in great detail. My kids are 13 and 5 so it's hard finding things they both like to do. We really enjoyed the trail we're we learned about trees, war, and places that were in the area. The museum was very interesting as well. So many things to do in a little area.

Awesome place to visit on a day trip. I lived just up the road and never knew it was there until a friend told me about it. I visited in October 2015 and got some amazing pictures. Including the one of what looks like ...well, you'll see. It's open to interpretation. But I can tell you, that "shadow" or "stain" on the tombstone was NOT there when I snapped that photo. I hope if you are a civil war buff or local who appreciates history....you get to experience this beautiful place.

Confederate Memorial Park is the site of Alabama's only Confederate Soldiers' Home. The site operated from 1902-1939 as a haven for disabled or indigent veterans of the Confederate army, their wives, and widows. I visited in April during the "Civil War Living History" event. Very interesting and informative. You can visit the Graves of Confederate Soliders, and gain insight into their lives- in the Confederate Memorial Park Museum. Their are numerous hiking trails, outdoor tables, and grills. This is a great place for a day away with family and friends. A hidden piece of history located in Marbury, Alabama.

Went on a hike with the family, the wife two teens and a toddler. Soon as we started the my toddler decided the walk was to much. So two miles of a 30lb kid on my shoulders, and I feel great! Must be the CBD oil I take idk?

We were told that there were so many compliments on the flowers we put on unknown soldiers' graves, and a family members' grave, only to find out later that as soon as staff thought we had permanently left the area, the maintenance crew was told to remove and dispose of them. Now I'm back.

Clean, available, and definitely family-friendly. Was there for our grandson's 1st birthday and we had one of the areas to ourself. Had hotdogs and such made right there on the grill. Grass was cut and facilities were well kept. Toilet facilities clean and secure. Will definitely go back and plan other family functions there.

Very well kept park and museum. The walking and nature trails are very nice! There are some remnants of some of the old buildings, meaning they aren't there anymore, but don't be disappointed. The history there is incredible.
