This Park belongs to the category of Park.
I think Big Spring Park is definitely one of my favorite places to visit on a nice sunny day. You can grab a coffee at a nearby coffee shop and walk around the park or sit and enjoy the nice views. Lots of people run or bike around the park too. Don't forget to bring quarters to feed the fish! Pretty, safe to visit. Walk, eat and feed the ducks. Any time of day or night. Also, great place for kids to hide and hunt painted rocks.
Big Spring Park is located just down a set of steps from the old court square in Huntsville. It starts at the base of a bluff and meanders around and through the park under a Japanese Style bridge. Cherry trees as well as other trees are located throughout the park. The old warehouse district is located immediately to the right of the canal that used to lead from the spring to the Tennessee River. Various water fowl and colorful fish are constantly on the move for one's enjoyment.
What a beautiful little park in the heart of Huntsville! Really well maintained, interesting with the spring welling up right there, and a lovely spot to chill out, talk, relax during the hot summer's in AL. Way to go, Huntsville!
Beautiful park downtown. Well worth the short walk around the lake and by the spring.
Beautiful park with nice restaurants around.
Beautiful little park right in the middle of downtown. Tinsel trail is a must see at christmas time. The koi and wildlife never disappoint year round. One of our favorite parks as a family

Feed the fish and ducks, have a picnic, walk and enjoy downtown.
Very nice and clean
Very festive. Puts one in the Christmas spirit.
Small green space in the downtown area..nice waterfall garden area with large fish & a few ducks. On a Sunday afternoon, just exploring the area...very quiet & peaceful.
Beautiful surroundings, great to take the kids, or a date. The multi colored lights shining on the fountains & buildings. Great place to go Pokemon Hunting.
A great park to visit & listen to the sounds of a drum circle! to dance
Jazz night in the park was is a fantastic venue for the city of Huntsville,AL.
Wonderful park. The tinsel trail they do every December is a fun family tradition for us
Very serene setting. It has plenty of benches, but picnic tables would be nice. Feeders offered for the ducks and fish.
Gorgeous downtown area! Great for family photos, a picnic, or just to sit and watch the koi
Such a beautiful, clean park with lovely green grass and some amazing fountains. It's really peaceful.
I LOVE Huntsville!
Great leisure park to walk in the evenings. Bring quarters so you can feed the fish and ducks, we had a great time with the family. There are also easy bike rentals to explore on.
Great events
I love this park. Always clean; friendly environment, dog friendly.
It was great for a walk, I'm sure you would be able to do other activities there without a problem.
Loved it, it was awesome. Walk way goes to places to eat, you can feed the ducks and fish. The pond is clean and friendly. We loved it!!
Great evening
Greenspace in the middle of downtown, frequent host of awesome communal events.
Beautiful place to share with family and be in touch with nature. A space to enjoy.
Nice downtown spring park for a walk around the lake/ pond, feed the fish and ducks. Listen to music every Monday evening during the summer. Panoply art festival once a year.
The park is beautiful and and great way to exercise and get out and see the city. My daughter loves the ducks and it's always a fun safe place. You can usually find food trucks and ice cream trucks as well as view the cool spring the huge fish. We go there to play pokemon go and to get some good exercise in.
Great place to just go enjoy the weather an relax
Nice large park with lots of open space. Feeding stations to buy food for the koi and ducks. Nice clear spring fed pond. Great place to take a walk. Plenty of nearby dinning and drinking establishments.

Beautiful and historical! Love the improvements!
Beautiful park! Weather was perfect! Great time and a great place!
Nicely remodeled in the past years, but not much in the way of actual scenes and attractions.
Beautiful Park with a lot of beautiful scenery!
A small bit of serenity tucked among the business of Downtown. Shade trees, rustling water and close refreshment.
Street parking is hit or miss but there is a parking deck option. New spacious park along a river front. Worth checking if you're visiting and looking for something different and free. Walk your dog.
What a great place to spend time, relaxing, scenic and free
We always enjoy our time there
Love coming here just to walk and enjoy the way everything is calm including everyone. The events here are also really nice. Its great when you feel a part of Huntsville city.
It's a calm park with beautiful scenery. It's easy to get too.
Great place.
It is a mid-city park and you pretty much know you are mid-city the whole time but it is pretty nice as the trails are easy to access and paved. The "spring" is a fountain and has many koi fish around and many ducks which are all very pretty. There is some moss and ferns on the spring area which is a nice touch of nature. There was an art exhibit of giant rabbits while we were there
Beautiful place to spend with family
My parents got married here. They have dummy thicc fish swimming around and one really dumb one that I had to save from a seaweed trap death.
Loved it. The ducks are Savage!
Always love walking here.
They paved paradise, and put up a parking lot. There is concrete as far as the eye can see here after the "beautification". I guess it's pretty, and it would have been a great way to make a barren hellscape look welcoming, but there was lovely soft grass everywhere. I love Huntsville, but the new Big Spring isn't as good as the old.
Really nice walking park. Access to restaurants and hotels. Giant fish to feed and water features. Worth a stop.
This park has grown since I last visited. A real nice area to relax, walk down the trail that goes on both sides of the spring and the creek and there are even a couple restraunts near by. All in all it's a nice area and half the reason I visit the area.
A company outdoor event, the location and the weather was perfect. The interactions between adults & kinds was spectacular.
Always a great get a way and place to relax.
Great place to relax, and enjoy some quite time..
Love this place to relax and feed the ducks and fish
guys lets get this review to 100 or more likes thank to you
Best place in Huntsville to relax, see the city and unwind
A great family park in the heart of downtown
Beautiful, peaceful. Lots of duck, geese and koi fish to feed.
Beautiful views and central to alot in huntsville
Best Park in Huntsville. Been my favorite since I was a child.
Great place for interviews and b roll of Huntsville
We went to Jazz in the Park! It was a lot of fun!
Lovely place to visit. . Make sure you cross the street to the actual spring ( my favorite area) It's less crowded, on that side of the park, and the shade walk to the spring is charming. Don't forget to bring money for duck/ fish food and the parking meters.
Had a picnic with my friends it so nice and peaceful
Great place to go for a stroll
It's a nice place for relaxing
Beautiful park make sure to enjoy the entire park from the spring to the fine arts center.
Great place to walk the family and is dog friendly. Love the free things the park offers and how beautiful it is!
A great open area. I wish Huntsville has more areas like it throughout the city
The jazz concert was just great...and it was free.
I mean it's a park either you like it or you don't I guess right LOL.. personally it's too much outsideness for me But it is good for little kids small children elderly so forth and so on
Great place to walk with the family and beautiful scenery
It is beautiful here and the sidewalks are perfect for watching ducks and giant koi fish.
This park is beautiful. It's very serene with lots of benches whether for resting or eating lunch. There's a great place to eat called Keegan's Pub connected to the park at the northern side. Especially pretty during Christmas with the many decorations and trees!!
Do nice since they've remodeled
Very beautiful place
They had the jam ! The music was real good. It's every Sunday 6-9 free.
My kids and I love going here. They love to feed the ducks & fish.
Fun, peaceful greenspace in center of town
I always love coming to big spring Park. It is always so calm and there is usually something different going on. There are so many things to do and places to go around it. It's the best thing in Huntsville downtown.
Very beautiful park so peaceful
Enjoyed the evening with family looking at all the Christmas trees.
A great place to wonder, brillant scenery
Jazz in the park
Enjoyed Jazz at the park... could find a porta potty tho .. had to leave early!
Enjoyable with quality music
Had a lovely evening stroll through the park, lit with countless decorated trees, and then ice skated( I fell often, it's NOT like riding a bike) beneath the Hunstville Museum of Art.
Love it! Wonderful place just to go and relax.
Amazing spring in a beautiful city
Great place. Fed the ducks and this wonderful little squirrel man. Sadly he crashed his car driving his way down the tree. So sad. Rip Carl.
I LOVE Big Spring. I'm always here, exploring old and new areas, lots of beautiful walks, water fountains, feed the duckies, and lots of fun food, coffee, and drink places nearby.
Its a beautiful park. I hope get married there tomorrow!
Lovely area, great for a dog walk or run.
History, Art, Culture, Live Music & a light show at night.#nobrainer
Always love the feeling of this place!
The family love it
Amazing spot for short walks in a relaxed setting in downtown Huntsville. Several family friendly events are often hosted here such as food truck rallies and live music.
Great place to get a piece of mind.
Drum circle held every Sunday, weather permitting, at 4 p.m. Beautiful atmosphere, great sound and entertainment for anyone in the vicinity. Always held near the head of the spring adjacent to the parking garage.
What a nice place, very quaint with shops and eateries in walking distance Huntsville is a very beautiful city
Very wide. We can take a leisurely walk. There are many Koi fish in the pond. There is also a vending machine for feeding bait to fish. A place to relax.
Sometimes there is metered street parking near the spring, but when crowded, park on the square or in one of the parking decks. Look up events on Facebook like concerts and food trucks. Those can be exciting but very crowded. Not a lot of benches or tables, but ample space for a picnic blanket.
An important part of the community.
I needed to go clear my mind. Soul search. I love this place especially when nobody is there
Beautiful and scenic park to walk around. Plus learn some local history as you stroll with sever historical markers.
Lovely, historical spring with walkway, canal, and 2 small waterfalls. Check out the Cozy Cow for an affordable, delicious eatery!
Clean, a nice green space to walk. great location.
I was here for an event for an artist I manage. Very clean, they have outlets in some places, and just a great area. Alot of new hotels in the area so if you need a place to stay there are several nearby. Hope I can visit again soon!
Wonderful open area to visit with family and friends. Great for open air events and music. This was the 2019 Hispanic Festival.
Great time Jazz in the Park Series. Was crowded but not as crowded as last year. Great music and set up.
Music events and great scenery
Wonderful park
A beautiful park where you can take family walks, you can take your pet if you choose to do so. A great area to go running or jogging that you can feel safe and not really have to worry about anything such as brush or trees, you actually run around this big beautiful spring filled with fish of all colors and sizes! You can actually put a quarter in this machine and feed the fish I think majority of them are coral fish but they're beautiful! and there's ducks and geese and all types of natural Wildlife it's a beautiful area highly recommended!!!
Excellent place for the family to spend time together
Went here with the family and rode the Pace bikes. We had a blast and will definitely be going back again.
It's just wonderful
It's really becoming Huntsville's back yard. The recent waterway stonework really classes up the area. There are three restaurants with views just steps off the park, and more are coming. A perfect stroll around the park could include a visit to the art museum, an event at the Von Braun Center, UG White, Lewter's Hardware, and maybe out to Twickenham.
GREAT WALKING AMONG THE DUCK, FISH AND SQUIRREL BEAUTIFUL SKY!!!
Loved the visit.
My wife and I love to go there and unwind. Sometimes they have people playing music which is always fun to watch. There's also a lot of places to eat within walking distance. Christmas time they have a outdoor ice skating rink, horse and carriage rides and a ton of decorated Christmas trees. Beautiful place.
Rent a bike to ride for 1.00, pond water is clear with no smell, great place for kids and an art museum. Wine and pizza restaurant(romantic). Great place to jog with baby stroller and wife early morning. Grass is alwats cut.
Beautiful as always.
Nice place to walk around look at the fish people watch or just relax.
Beautiful renovations. It's a perfect place to spend some time walking and feeding the park life. I love the ducks, most whom eagerly eat from your palm. It's typically quiet unless it's a weekend night, particularly in the summer time when they host movies and concerts. There's a drum circle every Sunday by the spring and it's a wonderful sound that fills most of downtown. If you're passing through, I recommend stopping through here to stretch your legs and a quick drive to Supper Heroes to fill your belly with fantastic food.
I've been coming to Big Spring Park since 1996, mainly to participate in the long running (30+ consecutive years) Sunday afternoon drum/jam sessions at the corner of Spragins & Spring St. Behind the Huntsville Utilities/YMCA building, but really any time I want to enjoy the beautiful scenery, hear the cold spring waterfall, and meditate around some awesome koi fish and the funkiest ducks you've ever seen. It's hands down the best thing about this little city. Good people...check Lazy Sundays...check Good music...check
Love the outdoors great place to relax and exercise get a good walk in
One of the reasons I’m glad to call Huntsville my home town, always beautiful, accessible and interesting!
Awesome I love big spring international park
This park is so beautiful! The kids love to come and watch the ducks and fish. There is a great canal that is covered by trees with a waterfall built in. The amphitheater at the end with the spring is so peaceful. There was a group of drummers when we went having a good time and drawing small crowds.
Great place! Full of wonder & adventure. Our Community makes this a fantastic journey. Skateboarders, Dancer's, Lover's, Friends, Musician's & More. Happy Place!
Took the family and friends to the tinsel trail in downtown. I am never disappointed in the downtown area. It is always clean, and there are minimal loitering kids/teens. You can tell this a city that takes pride in its appearance and strives to keep it looking nice. Hundreds of decorations and Christmas tunes to enjoy while walking along and checking out the trees sponsored by local businesses. It is great to see the community coming together like this.
Very nice, green, quiet maintained area in the city centre. Nice place to come over and rest - plenty benches around. Only downside is the scarce of parking spaces nearby. Close to restaurants and pubs, access to free Wi-Fi.
Always a nice place for a walk
Love this park~
Great park. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy nature. You can get feed to feed fish too! Also, great for catching Pokémon.
Great place for a picnic, a lazy walk or a run with the dogs. Many places nearby for drinks, food and treats.
Not very BIG. But still nice
Great place to take small children. Bring quarters for the duck food machines.
Very nice place to go on walks, close to fun bars and restaurants as well
Beautiful downtown park. Nice stream and pond with lots of fish and ducks, which is always a big hit with the kids. No playground here, but there are a few good restraunts within walking distance.
