His crew did an excellent job and were very accomadating to our requests. The crew were always polite and professional. Most of all I appreciate that Michael tried especially hard to make us happy because of our circumstances. He was patient and compassionate, while we went through the ordeal of collecting insurance money, etc... I highly recommend Painting by Michael.

We hired Michael to paint the interior of our home - two story foyer and family room areas.... I could not be happier with the experience! Michael is such a pleasure to work with! We had a big big job to do, moving into new home we bought from out of state, needed to have complete inside (all walls, and all trim), and outside trim (brick home) painted in 7-10 days before moving in. We did not know who to use since out of state and needed someone we could trust not only with doing the job, but giving the key to our new home!! We found Michael online and via HomeAdvisor referrals, saw great reputation and great reviews so after talking to Michael who made us feel at ease and comfortable with big project, decided to trust Michael and his dedicated team (been together long time). We were not disappointed at all, and would recommend to friend and family anytime. GREAT service, fair prices, great work, great team... did everything they said would do, and much more, was on time, on budget, great quality and very efficient and on time with project as said would be. Came back when said would to finish few jobs we wanted done later, even if harder on their schedule, and again was great. Now doing more work since such good company. Michael met us at our home on the same day we called and provided valuable insight on color selections, the effects of lighting, and perhaps most importantly, a very attractive estimate. Candidly, I was concerned that we would fall victim to “you get what you pay for” however that was far from the case. I asked him to paint my condo for a rental unit and his price beat all of the other painters in the area, and he went beyond what the job required to make my condo look goregous. Michael is a phenomenal human being, and so are his workers. They went above and beyond as far as getting almost an entire 2000 square foot home done in just 3 days. It is difficult for me to address the negative points because I respect Michael and his workers so much but I think I need to be fair to those coming here for reviews. I stressed prep work being an important factor when I was getting the quote with each painter I received a quote from. I even stated that we understood if that meant the cost would be higher. I brought this up several times throughout the process as well. They had ALOT of prep work to do so I know it cannot be perfect but the little things like covering the floors, beds, and furniture did not get done. I had visible paint on floors, dressers, bedding, counter tops, faucets and window coverings. I did bring this up with him and he gave me $100 off the price but these are things that should not happen with professional painting. As far as their painting goes they did a great job! I would suggest that you do the prep work yourself if you are going to hire this company or at least move your the furniture yourself. Overall I would absolutely hire this company again, hence the 4.0 star review so please do not take this review negatively just something to be aware of.

These painters were part of the team of contractors that were hired to transform my beach house into a BEACH HOUSE. I am so happy with the result. Not only did they know what i wanted, they improved on the ideas and added some of their own. I am so happy with the work. Dining room, front doors, kitchen, upstairs bedroom and bathroom ALL Look amazing. They even offered to help on the molding (they pointed out) that the dogs decided to eat and rebuilt it up to paint it. It looks like BRAND NEW! Everyone loves their job and in fact David, one of the painters said "this is why I love painting, you can make ANY room beautiful". Tony, David and Michael were professional, fast and accommodating. Would go with them any time!

This company deserves above a 5-star rating. For me to say this is very rare as I am a person who is very fastidious and meticulous. When I initially contacted Michael for the estimate of changing color paint for the exterior of our home, I knew right then I wanted him to do the job. The estimate given was very fair and was within our budget that I did not feel the need to call anyone else. I was dazzled by his friendly, professional and caring demeanor. It was like speaking to a family member, that is how comfortable I felt. Michael kept me informed throughout the entire process. I must admit, I was nervous about the paint colors and finish but whenever I called to ask him questions, he would put me at ease. His crew came to power wash the house beforehand and did an awesome job, and so quickly. The one thing that truly impressed me is that Michael and his hard-working, courteous and dedicated crew came on a Saturday morning only to paint trim/soffits but Michael knew I was anxious in seeing the stucco color so that I could get a visual, he started painting away. He was climbing the ladder even with an injured leg. He noticed my excitement and kept on. Michael and his crew finished the entire job the next day which was a SUNDAY. This experience exceeded my expectations by far. What should have taken several days, they completed in so little time. Mind you, our home is two story tall over 45 feet and the stucco needed two coats of paint. I just cannot express my gratitude to this company for going above and beyond. Our house now is the most elegant and glamorous looking on the block! People walk by and give compliments all of the time. I simply love, love the transformation! All I can say is that Michael is a man of his word, his work ethic, integrity and respect is totally OUTSTANDING. His sense of humor is contagious too! For anyone looking to have painting done should call Michael only….no need to look any further for other contractors. He is a "MICHAEL-ANGELO" in my book! Micheal came by my home to give me a quote and was so wonderful and warm! He gave me honest opinions and answers for all my questions. The paint job was done way before expected and they did a wonderful job, and went above and beyond! His crew was very respectful to me and my home. I was told I could leave, but needed to stay because of my dogs. With that said, they never made me feel like I was a bother or in the way of them completing the job. Bottom line up front: Michael Sanchez is extremely professional and friendly. His crew is solid - they are professional to the point of being perfectionists. The price was right and Michael was extremely flexible and helpful in scheduling and choosing colors. I was referred to Michael Sanchez by another local painter. I was searching for a professional painter to paint my condo on short notice and the other painter did not have the personnel or time to fit me in. Among several quotes, Micheal was on the lower end of the spectrum and was friendly and helpful with scheduling and choosing paint colors. He came to the house to help my wife and I choose colors, he advised on accent wall colors and locations, and he made the whole job easy on us. His crew knocked out our 2000 sq ft condo in a day and a half. Their group work ethic is outstanding. They cleaned up their mess and were out of the house by noon on the second day. I recommend Painting by Michael to anyone in the Hampton Roads area who wants a professional job done at a reasonable price by a fantastic group of guys.

Messy and Sloppy work....thats if he shows up!!! I wish I could post pics of his work. I have a cedar house that he was to stain, very splotchy everywhere on my house and deck. Just looks horrible!! 6000.00. Paid him when he finished and the paint was still wet so I could not tell that when it dried it would look like this!!!!! He power washed it before staining but all that really happened was he tore the paint off the trim around the doors....he was going to come back to fix it but , of course he never showed up! He sprayed the outside glass doors "by mistake" and now they have a hard film on them, yes he was "suppose" to come back to fix........can you guess? NEVER SHOWED UP. He talks a GREAT talk, but believe me does not walk the walk. Sometimes he will actually ,unprofessionally text you to tell you that he can't make it, that a "Urgent" job has come up. Simply unhappy with his work, its such ashame that people rip you off like this, I paid for a service and he just doesn't care.

I can't not express how much Michael and his crew saved my recent deck project!!! I had gone with a different painter orignally which was recommended by my builder and of course the originial painter was a no show for several days and was holding up my new deck. We were in quite the jam and Michael SAVED US!! We needed to have our house painted over the 4th of July weekend. We are renting our home out in Va Beach and would only be in town that weekend. Michael was the only painter I spoke with willing to take on the job on such short notice. Initially, we hired Michael to paint the first floor, stairwell, and second floor hallway. But when we saw the house, we knew it all needed to be painted. Michael had no problems expanding the scope of the project, despite an already tight schedule and working over the holiday. The turn out was AMAZING! I love the new color. His team is so professional. The new paint color completely transformed the house. Also, there was shoddy work performed by another so-called contractor who didn't caulk in the door frames and didn't even prime a replacement door. Michael and his team took care of all of that without even being asked. They care about your happiness and a job well done. They painted the whole house (about 1600 square feet) in about a day and a half. It's funny because my husband and I went to the home improvement store to pick up some items for the unit. When we returned to the house, my husband asked me what I wanted to start with and I said," nothing, I think it's best we just stay out of their way." From when we left in the morning to returning in the afternoon, most of the house already had the first coat of paint and/or was cut in already. On another note, our HVAC unit started leaking and water was coming down from the ceiling. Michael called us right away and gave us the heads up to head back to look at this. When we returned, his team had already turned the unit off and put down cloth to avoid damage to the carpets from the leak. They supplied buckets while we tried to do damage control until the HVAC company came. In the end, we got through with minimal damage. I'm so thankful they were there. I am extremely pleased with the service and final product. As my husband and I worked through the unit cleaning areas, I kept finding little things that Michael and his team did, i.e., touching up areas in the closets, door frames, etc. It was such a relief. I highly recommend them and will definitely call them for any future projects needed. In fact, looking to hire him for pressure washing as well. Overall, great guys and team. Thanks again Michael!!

We were renovating Mom's house built in 1956, walls were mostly wallpaper and painted areas had not seen a fresh coat of paint in Decades. Searched many contractor referral websites and received around 5-7 bids. Michael was not the lowest, but he was the only one that came with an IPAD showing before and after pictures. He was also the only on that used the phrase "I am Passionate about Painting" and we knew from his energy level he meant just that. Our new Before and After pictures are nothing short of everything he promised and more. He promised Mom's house would look better than new and I am telling you the results are breath taking. His crews are respectful, they work very hard and did a nice job of cleaning up before they left. We found a few minor touch-up spots and they came right back and made it perfect. This is the only painter i would recommend in Virginia Beach. I went through having three estimates of painting my townhouse so i could put it on the market and Michael far, far exceeded my expectations. His bid wasn't the lowest, to be clear, but his passion and enthusiasm for the project was obvious. Trying to have it painted while i was remote (DC) is stressful enough, but Michael immediately did a walk through, provided paint recommendation colors (he really enjoys personalizing colors to the property!) and was in and out in less than a week, over a holiday weekend. I hired Micheal and his team and was impressed from the start...His wife was such a warm and wonderful person and then upon meeting him, i was equally impressed...very personable and friendly. I thought I was just getting my bathroom painted but I got so much more than that. Greg and Brent ended up painting my bathroom for me and let me tell you they did a superb job!! From the very first prompt return phone call from Michael through the entire job, Michael and his crew were excellent. Michael was able to come earlier than originally planned to provide an estimate for the following work: painting outside, fence around the perimeter of the property about 200 feet with front brick pillars and lattice work; to painting inside ceilings 2 rooms and and front door entry way. Oh by the way he suggested a special solution washing of the gutters and soffit, which revitalized our paint to looking like it was just freshly painted. Not only is the workmanship superior but the attention to detail was impeccable. There were extra things that Michael saw that needed to get done and without hesitation he went ahead and did extra that was not part of the estimate. WOW how impressive, usually our experience is that nothing extra is very done without the expectation of more money. Michael reminds us of years ago when contracted workers went above and beyond and made sure you were 100% satisfied before moving on to the next job. He even asked me to call him the next day to make sure on one ceiling a hard to cover plaster area was completed to my satisfaction!
