Our painter was professional, and worked hard all day. The finished job looks fabulous. The bidder saved me money by recommending two-tone, with the ceiling the same color as the walls. The repair work they did was excellent. I would hire this company again and recommend them.

Estimator didn't know as much as she should have. Said there would be 3 painters working at the same time but there was only one, who was helped by his son sometimes. But he did a good job and we are pleased with the result. Project manager was a straight shooter.

You should go somewhere else. After two weeks, they claimed they were "done" but they still made five or six visits to fix all their mistakes. There was a miscommunication from the beginning, since the project manager only came the first time to do estimate and then to collect money. The rest of the time there were two painters who didn't speak English well. I had to direct them in Spanish a few times because they couldn't understand what was being said. When the house was empty, I didn't care how many times they came and went however, after I moved in, I didn't want them invading my privacy. I had to put away valuables and prepare my house for strangers that would be walking around. Also, my carpet is brand new and they didn't wear booties or covered anything while doing all their fixes. They actually splashed paint on my furniture and made a mediocre job of cleaning it up when I brought it up (and they weren't very happy about it, either). Their attitude was that I was "too picky" and they were doing me a favor by fixing their own mistakes. Well, after almost $7,000 you bet I will be frigging picky! The only way they came back the last time, was because they want my husband to change his Google review. They came back two times and I am waiting for a third visit, since they left a few unpainted spots...STILL. I have been taking pictures and documenting everything, I can provide you with said pictures upon request. Worst experience ever.

Responded quickly and efficiently, the workers were talented and clean. We will use five star for many projects. Five star hired Dillon to finish our basement which included 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. We are thrilled with the quality of the work. Dillon was thorough and even matched the wall textures to the rest of the house. Also he kept the worksight very clean, which is a huge deal.

The most horrible experience with a contractor ever! They painted our house the wrong color and won’t admit any fault. Chris Brown should be admitted to a mental hospital. He goes from one extreme to the other and will not take ownership of any issues. He called me vulgar words and told me to die over and over. We are spreading the word before this happens to anyone else. Look at the negative reviews first since they are legit!

I called five star for a bid and they had someone Alex out to bid in a few days. Due to my busy schedule, we had to communicate over the phone and through text and email and came to an agreement. They had an opening through an appointment getting moved and were able to start the next day! There was some confusion about the trim on the sides of my house. The company claimed I hadn’t specified that I wanted the vertical side trim painted, and said it would take a half day extra labor and wanted to charge me $200 more to paint it. I took care of it in an hour with a roller. Made such a huge difference! Otherwise, totally happy with the job! Hugo was wonderful to work with, he came out and pressure washed and primed and painted and made our house look brand new. He was so courteous and professional, and always let us know what was going on every step of the way. He cleaned up at the end of every day, and made our house look brand new! Thanks, Hugo! Too bad he was not allowed to accept tips.

**** AVOID THIS BUSINESS *** The owner (Chris Brown) entered our home in the morning on the day of the project start date while the wife and I were at work. I have home surveillance and video+audio recordings of the conversations that took place between the owner and hired help (franchise). The owner spent about five minutes complaining about the work that needed to be done, another 2 minutes insulting my home, my wife, and I, and he continued complaining about the work that needed to be done. The original estimate was done by Mark, a kind older man, and Chris came back through our home, marked prices up, added on extras into the $$$$, and the work not only didn't get done as requested, the words "ceiling repair" show up on the bill and that's the first thing he complains about in the recordings. Chris comes up with cheap workarounds out-loud, and it also wasn't done anyways. Nothing in our home was repaired. However, the workers slopped paint on the walls, globs and drips in the thousands, all over our carpet, kitchen floor, our wood doors were paint splattered and damaged, we never asked to have anything done to our doors. DO NOT allow Chris Brown into your home, nor anyone he has working for him. He's crooked, lazy, and needs to be put out of business ownership. Based on the products I saw brought into our home: $150 worth of supplies used, 13 hours worth of minimum wage labor to slop paint all over (a two hour paint job), do damage to our home, and leave a decent sized mess behind with fixtures now missing their covers... grand total: $1,560. My nine year old paints better than these guys. UPDATE: I let Chris know about the damage, and life endangering conditions left for my four small children, and he laughed, insulted my wife and I some more, blamed me for never having electrical covers after claiming he has photos proving I did. Chris couldn't carry a conversation about anything but how great he is and how funny property damage and life endangerment are to him. Safety for customers is a waste of time according to his words. **** AVOID THIS BUSINESS ***

Only giving this a 5 star review because the project manager Mike went out of his way to get the job done on time and spent multiple nights at our office until 4 am to make sure the job got done faster. We were quoted two weeks and it took three in an office that has tenants we lost money by not have the space available to them. If it wasn’t for Mike this would have got a one start.

Fine Star Painting did an awesome job! They were upfront, honest, courteous. Despite and tight timeline on our part and a few setbacks on theirs (employee family emergency, weather, etc.), they pushed through and did an amazing job in the timeframe we needed! They even fixed a couple things that were bugging them in the process (older home)! I would recommend them to anyone!

AVOID THEM!!! THEY ARE A 3rd PARTY-GO STRAIGHT TO PAINTERS (they only pay their painters 25% & pocket the rest!!) Owner Chris Brown did the original walk thru & quote promising full wall prep before painting the main level, 3 doors painted, as well as the kitchen cabinets painted for $1700. (NOT 1 of these things happened!!!! After my sister took off work to be there when they were supposed to start, not only were they very late, the sketchy project manager (Matt), apologizes saying he “thought he emailed the quote to him” & the painter looks it over & right there says “this job isn’t worth my time since I only get 25% & he walks out!!! “ Matt apologizes & says he’ll get another painter. We try to cancel, but are reminded we would lose the down payment, which is half. They found another painter (who did an incredible job tho he doesn’t speak English & seemed exhausted after a long day. They took advantage of us!!! SO many more awful things happened, too!

Lines not great, the hardware is still not on my closet doors, some doors wont close as they were reinstalled incorrectly, clothes hanging rods were left in the bathtub. Didn't paint inside edges of doors, they painted vents without cleaning them, some patches were done poorly, I paid for two coats of paint and some areas barely got a dusting. Upon final inspection, we paid in full and they were supposed to come fix these issues, but as of yet no-one has come by to fix things. And to top it all off I can't even find some of the parts and pieces to put my house back together.... Overpriced for subpar workmanship. Update So after putting up the above comments on a one star, I've decided to give them an upgrade to two stars. Once seeing this review Chris my sales person contacted me asking why I gave them a one star, guess he didn't even read it... Anyhow three invasions of our privacy later, we got the most of it fixed. In the end I've decided to paint the last few little things myself. They really are small things but we spent $7'000.00 on services from a " professional painter" sadly I can do a better job than was done by these guys and I'm an electrician... Go figure.

I scheduled an appointment with Laura, she came out and measured and told me she would get a quote to us for painting and flooring, once she had her supervisor Chris finalize it. I called and followed up with her twice before calling the company. They scheduled Chris the owner out. I was impressed by his knowledge and professionalism, he was thorough and let me know my best options. He gave me a verbal price, and said he'd send the quote out the next day. It's now been over two weeks and I still haven't seen a written quote from them. I'm ready to do the project at this time, but will have to schedule other professionals out to bid it. I feel like they waisted our time.

Don't let them into your home!!! I spent $4k for them to trash my home. Quality is terrible. Manager is immature and looking to bilk the client for every dollar. If you get entangled with them, don't pay them a cent of the other half of your deposit, because you'll NEVER get them back in to fix any of their garbage work, let alone finish what you've paid for. Oh yeah, THEY STOLE MY LADDER and I had to call the COPS to get it back!!! The manager comes off as friendly and approachable, but his downfall is that he always sides with his guys. He utterly wants them to like him, and cuts them slack every time. He has been doing this a long time and no longer cares about being the best. He wants to knock a job out, squeeze as much cash out of the homeowner to butter up his employees, and move on to the next one. Any complaints about the shoddy, amateur work and it's the homeowner's fault for wanting "high end" or being "too particular" or adding too many things to the bid. There was never a breath of skepticism about getting my house done by my deadline. I was constantly reassured that the painter they assigned me was the best guy they had at mudding, that they would get it done in time, that they could throw guys at it immediately, and that were licensed, bonded, insured, and franchised--in other words, the best. They tout themselves as a step above the average company that you would hire off of any site. They answer your service request in minutes and bring a special folder with their name on it filled with a list of services they offer. They even have a printout of their ZERO complaints from BBB. (When if it was up-to-date they would have 3 complaints listed in the last 12 mos.) They brag about the quality of their paint and how everything is under a 2 year guarantee. They tell you about their policy that their painters get a bonus when they get a 5 star Google review, and you think, "Amazing! Quality capitalism at its best." But the quality of the work was terrible. Just terrible. There wasn't a single thing they did well. My "Guy" --BORIS--- Lazy, amateur. Always Late. No communication. No training. Took naps in his car in front of my house. When I texted the boss, he lied and said he was waiting for his patches to dry---when nothing had even been patched. Whatever, the boss believes him over me. He couldn't be bothered to use a ladder to patch my ceiling, he stood on a 5-gal bucket of paint instead. Didn't have a dustpan, so used 12" taping knife. When I offered my dustpan, he accepted and ended up taking it.. STOLE my checkbook from my kitchen and put in it the box of my outlets that he kept in his car. LIED about his "wife" getting bit by a "giant dog" to run out on the job on the 4th of July--he left the job for the rest of the day and turned off his phone. I'm pretty sure he isn't married as he was talking about flirting with girls one of the days. Worst mudding job ever. Smeared 5 minute mud all over large holes with no support like mesh/tape/patches. Cut out brown paper to make a jagged gash in my walls to remud instead of sealing them with a sealer like I asked, even when I offered my own can of the stuff. This technique is bad for the integrity of the dry wall. Every patch from his spray can had large bubbles. He didn't know the names of different wall textures (orange peel vs. knockdown). He had to use MY spray texture for the walls and used it badly. He also took this can home. Always had a story for why he was late--such as being held up at the HD Pro Desk for 2 hours. He always promised to make up for it by coming very early (6-7am) the next day, never did. He would come around 9:30-10:30, once he came after 12pm, took a nap in his car from 3-4pm and was gone by 6pm. Took days and days to tape down paper. HE STOLE MY $200 LITTLE GIANT LADDER and I had to call the police to get it back!!

Where do I begin.... We hired 5 Star Painting to paint the exterior of our home. We were told by the manager it would be 3 days. Tomorrow will be day 9 and I have too many complaints at this point. They use Behr paint and I was told it is the best. I told them I wanted alabaster white by Sherwin Williams and they said they could match it. It is definitely not the same. We had record breaking temperatures and when our heat wasn’t working we called an HVAC professional to come out to tell us the painters were causing the problem. Our furnace exhaust had been covered for 3 days, along with our dryer vent, which made it so we couldn’t have heat or dry our clothes. They should have uncovered the vents....I was very frustrated that we were uncomfortable for 3 days without heat thinking our furnace was broken in a home that is only 3 years old. We have several dogs and we have been leaving them locked up to stay out of the way of the painter. The problem is, they are locked up from 8:30am to 8pm at night since the painter starts painting late in the day and works til it is dark. We have to take them to the front to let them do their business but it’s just getting to be too much now. This whole process is getting more and more stressful. Wednesday, no one showed up. I left for the day and locked my dogs up to find out in the evening I didn’t need to. No one had the decency to let me know that no one was going to show up. Yesterday, it started getting windy and rainy and the painter left a ladder on the house with direct access to my daughters bedroom window. This was very disturbing. All the paint cans and paint water were left open (diluting the paint from the rain) and when we let our dogs out after the painter had left, they got into the paint and it ended up on our cars (lots of scrubbing to get this off) and all over the yard. I let the manager know of this issue and again, tonight, same thing! Paint cans left open on our deck! There is no way we can let our dogs out to the backyard....paint will get everywhere! I don’t even know what to say at this point. I am at a loss for words. No, I would not recommend them. They sell you on that they do the job right but there has been nothing right about this whole experience. I don’t like to nit pick and am very easy to work with but this is totally unacceptable. 10/22/19 update - Chris and Mike are full of lies and will not deliver customer satisfaction. Chris has the nerve to call me up tonight and tell me he’s been spending the last 3 hours doing paint testing. Apparently, the Behr alabaster white and Sherwin Williams alabaster white are similar....not exact but similar. I’m sorry, but similar doesn’t cut it. A slight difference in color undertones makes a HUGE difference. He told me he has all this experience in paint but I guess I don’t know my colors! How dare he call me up and be so shady after I had purchased the correct paint color form Sherwin Williams months ago and told them they could just repaint the front of my house with the correct color that I purchased. My stucco won’t be correct.... but with all the frustration and lack of communication through the whole process, I don’t want to work with them at all, ever again. Word of mouth goes a long way. Stay away from these guys!! 10/23/19 - Chris Brown is crazy. He just told my husband to f****** die a slow death and to f****** die over and over. He has lost control and doesn’t know what to do with himself. We had to contact the police since he is so threatening and just a horrible person to the core. Please think twice before using this company. We are the customer and there is no customer satisfaction guarantee. He is treating us horribly and won’t admit fault or take responsibility for any of the issues. I think you’ll find a trend with all of the legit reviews that Chris is mentally unstable and too emotional for his own good. He shouldn’t have a business with customer contact. He is just not an honest guy.

Wish I could give 0 stars. Unprofessional, disrespectful, and an absolute rip-off. THIS IS A MIDDLE MAN COMPANY. The painters from 5 Star Painting only make 25% of the total sale, so if you pay $2,000 will you only get the quality of a $500 paint job since that is what the actual painter is making. Save yourself a headache and hundreds of dollars by going directly to a painter. I'll just let you read through the email conversation I had with the OWNER, after I replied to a survey from them. This is the FIRST review I am leaving for 5 Star Painting, keep that in mind when reading these emails.
