Called and made an appointment with these people. After being an hour past the time we scheduled, I finally got a returned call to let me know they couldn't come and would have to charge me to come to my home... for a quote. Should rethink customer service before telling people they can do something they can't.

We’d hired a young man to paint our house interior, but the job turned out to be too big for him. In a crunch for time to get it done, we made appointments to get three estimates from professionals. The first showed up with a frown on his face and a whole lot of negativity and took days longer to get back with us than he’d promised. The second painter didn’t show up at all, and he didn’t even call. The third was Crystal Clear Painting. The freeway was congested that day and Don was going to be a few minutes late, but he called to let us know. On the front porch, we were greeted by a smiling, friendly man who turned out to be positive and upbeat and even offered good advice. His estimate came in on time, and it was fair. He made us feel confident he could finish the job in a timely manner and that we’d be happy with the finished product. After what we’d been through, Crystal Clear felt like an Oasis in the desert to us. Don came through with everything he’d promised with no hidden or surprise costs, and we loved the results. Plus, he and his crew were awesome. I’d definitely hire him again.

We hired Crystal Clear partially because they were bonded and insured, then Don subcontracted the work without our knowledge to an uninsured and unbonded guy. This guy is now showing claiming he has not been paid. Don claims he is paid. The sub is threatening to put a lien on my house. Can he do that? I don't know. What a mess I am left with.

I'm surprised to see negative reviews on Don and his team. We had a great experience and would highly recommend him. We got 3 bids from the highest rated painters on KSL services specifically for the exterior of the home, interior walls, ceilings, & kitchen cupboards. Don showed up early, with a folder containing services of his business, & a copy of his business license. He walked through our house and was very thorough on understanding what exactly we wanted and how we wanted it done. The job itself was completed 6 days before schedule, he even came back to correct something he missed.

Just save yourself the time and hassle. Don’t do it! We had to take this phony to court. I have had a much better success at hiring honest contractors by word of mouth than trusting these screwed ratings that are totally rigged my negative ratings for this guy just gets removed. (Yep that’s how it works folks) I will get on here every now and then and write a new one. If you are reading this before my review gets taken off count yourself one of the lucky ones. Worst contractor we’ve ever hired!

We hired Crystal Clear to do the exterior of a home and garage in Sugarhouse. They gave me a detailed and fair bid. The house looked like it had been a long time since it had been painted and the wood trim was pretty warn out and never fixed the right way. Don suggested he could cut it out and replace it with a new cross section, which was a little complicated do to the old moldings. I was a little skeptical but it worked great. We were also unsure what color scheme to use on the paint but he guided us with what would work and helped us pick colors. They took their time but did an excellent job! Every concern was addressed properly and timely. Charlie was great and went out of his way to make sure that things looked perfect. Even when the porch color didn't look right, it wasn't a problem and they changed it. They were very easy to work with and I would use them again.

When it comes time to paint your house, everyone wants the best. You take pride in your home and want it to stand out in the neighborhood. Mine now does just that. Crystal Clear Painting is far and away the best choice you can make to get your house painted. Kent did an absolutely amazing job on my house. From start to finish he and the company stepped up, said what they were going to do, and did exactly that. The house is now the best looking house in the neighborhood. If you are looking for someone to paint your house, stop looking. Crystal Clear is the way to go. Don and his painters were nice and helpful at first, but the job was done very badly. Brand new outlets and switches were painted over, a few areas still had the old paint showing through, overspray on many surfaces, etc. They even used a lower grade flat paint on the bedroom walls that washed off when I tried to clean a smudge - contract said satin latex throughout, and painted a linoleum floor in a closet. He sent a guy (his son) back to touch it up, but he did another terrible job and didn't fix most of the issues. When I let Don know, he was incredibly rude, called me a liar, and told me I was just "a woman who likes to talk a lot" and asked why my husband wasn't speaking up (I'm the one who hired you Don). He tried to tell me I should pay him $50 to come back and do the job I had already paid to have done. In the end, to be fair, he did grudgingly offer to come back and fix it himself, but at that point my tenants had already moved in and I didn't want Don on my property. I would not recommend them to anyone and their motto of "getting it done right the first time" is completely inaccurate in my experience.

My experience with Don was solid!!!. He was very personal, and super helpful sharing his vision and giving me some great ideas for our new home. I know Don has over 30+ years experience in his profession, and the work him, and his team did showed just that. I truly enjoyed his teams company and the job they did. Any little issues i may have had such as touch ups, or clean up they were on it. I was impressed by the touch up kit they left with me and advice they had given to me as well. Don and team refurbished my railings. They turned out beautifully! They were respectful to always clean up after they were done for the day. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars (perfect rating), is because he told us he would bring a touch up kit by, for when we needed it later. Well, a week after they finished my banisters, the carpet installers banged the heck out of my newly refurbished banisters. I called Don several times, left messages to see if he would drop off the touch up kit, as I needed it due to the damage left by the carpet people. Gave him a month to return calls, or drop off the touch up kit. Don did not follow up as promised, and no touch up kit was ever brought to the home. It may not seem like a big deal, but one more thing we had to do, in the middle of a big home remodel. The follow up is just as important as the initial business... my husband had to go to Sherwin and try and match the paint ect. up with the colors they used.

Don and his crew painted the interior of our home 100 year old home. Due to the old age of the home, the walls has lots of wallpaper and horrid paint jobs over the years. He fixed all the walls and painted everything. (Which is super tricky due to the walls not being made of sheetrock.) He did a great job and was very helpful on helping us choose the interior colors. We are so happy with his work that we hired him to do our exterior too. We loved the way it has turned out. We love it and all our neighbors love it too. The new paint job really highlights the architecture and craftsmanship of our old house. We love our home! Thank you for the wonderful service and paint job, you did an outstanding job!
