Eric showed up, gave me a fair and thorough estimate for the paint work, pointed out and helped me deal with details that I couldn't see because I was out of town, and scheduled around other repairmen who were also working at the property. After moving into our new home, we hired Next Door Painting to complete our interior painting including the living room, foyer, office, dining, room, hallways, and upstairs. We have 30 ft ceilings with a lot of detailed areas and wanted to be sure the job was done right. The entire experience from start to finish was flawless. Justin Treaster promptly gave us our estimate and talked us through the entire process including selection of paint, confirmation of insurance, and reviews of previous projects. The crew showed up a week later, as we requested, and they were phenomenal. Alex and Omar worked non-stop and completed our entire project in just 2 days! Both were so polite, professional, and detail oriented. Daniel Smith was our project manager and he checked in on the progress and came back at the completion of the project to ensure we were satisfied. Next Door Painting exceeded our expectations and I have to say I was a little sad to see them go. Probably one of the worst experiences of my life with a hired contractor. the work they did was very spotty and the supervisor was never around, I had to become supervisor to a 2 man team that could not even speak English. I complained several times of the work and the absence of company supervisor support to no avail. Not only were they weeks late in starting, when they did it became a burden on me as I had to follow their every move due to lack of company support, or I would had paid alot of money for a very unprofessional job. I feel like they should have paid me for supervising the job. I would never recommend this company to anyone and would warn those seeking a professional service to look elsewhere.

One painter to paint two large rooms and a laundry room including book cases and wood trim. Unacceptable-2-3 days to complete the job as written on their contract, bad business, it took nine days. Next Door Painting I will not refer to any consumer needing painting, please do your intel thoroughly. The contractor never even showed up to see the job after completion, sure did want the entire bill, no walk thru, nothing. As for what they promise you for clean up and prep work it was never done. My carpet has paint stains and my back yard is dead where he cleaned his brushes without even asking where he could clean up. Contracts are only good as the person who writes them, in this case we were a customer too far away for their requirements of doing a job like they say on the website. The frustration of being promised one thing and doing the opposite is not good business.

Great work. Judah is a class act. The price was fare for the quality and warranty. Victor and his team worked tirelessly to complete the 4000 sq ft home project within the expected timeframe. And though we found some imperfections, like you would with any painting project, the mistakes were corrected promptly and as instructed. *** note to those who want to see a master painter do finishing lines, be there when Victor works. It's mesmerizing.

I am in my eighties and have had a lot of experience with repair people. This was an unusual expierence as i had scheduled this repair job but then I was admitted to the ER. I did not want to postpone the job with Next Door Painting because I had company coming. Best decision I had made. The day I was discharged from the hospital the work began. One man job. Javier did the work of two men. He was so quiet and respectful the two days he was here. We are very pleased with his work. I have more to do this summer and I told Daniel Smith that I would only sign up if I was able to get Javier. Pleasant experience in all respects.

We highly recommend working with them. The supervisor, Daniel Smith, is very attentive. I called Next Door Painting in the afternoon and Justin came first thing the following morning and gave me a very fair quote. We set a date and time and they showed up as promised. It was a difficult job in a stairwell with very high ceilings and they did an excellent job. Justin was friendly and helpful and supervised the work closely. Worst company I've ever experienced before, and in all honesty I would give negative stars if it were a possibility. Before I get to what the wall quality actually was, let me add in a few more details about my experience with Next Door Painting. Time management: 2/10 On the contract, for everything we had priced out and quoted, the job would take about a week and they were in my house for about a month. Not only did the time frame become an issue, but also the workers were nothing but incompetent and lazy the whole time. On the first day about 4 people were sent to my house and I thought "hey great, they sent a lot of people this should be done quick." After a few hours of working they asked where the nearest Burger King was and I said two mins down the road. So they went to lunch. They were gone for 2 hours when I called their boss, Justin. He seemed confused to hear they weren't there. They left at 1pm and came back at 6:30pm to collect some tools, saying "sorry we got held up." Justin, their boss, wasn't helpful and didn't return calls as to where they were. The next couple of days they send two guys to do the work who said they'd show up around 8-9:30 each day and show up around 10:30-11, hours later than specified with me. Throughout the whole process it was a constant game of "where are they" or when they had to "run" to Home Depot, which is 10 mins away, it turned into usually hours of being gone. Respecting Clients Home: 1/10 They left their lunch trash scattered throughout my house and even a week after they had gone I opened my dresser drawer to find an empty tea bottle in it from them in it. The blatant disrespect was appalling! They left plaster ALL over my furniture even though I had been told that a covering would be put down to prevent damaged furniture.(I only have so many places to put my belongings.) And absolutely covered my floors and the only usable toilet in the house at the time. We had to cancel their check to insure that they'd even come back to fix the mess. Laziness: 10/10 They MIXED plaster IN my bedroom, and this wouldn't be so much of an issue if they had cleaned it up and not left huge dried globs of plaster concreted to my floors! And then later I found a huge waste pile of plaster mixture dumped on the side of my house and up against my neighbors house/in their yard. That is so embarrassing and I had to ask them to come back to my house to clean it up because they hadn't. When it came time to put the texture on the walls, they were too lazy to even match the texture to what was on the existing walls or the consistency distrubuted throughout the house. After they had told me the job was done I took a look around my house and I could visibly see walls that weren't textured, or taped/floated, and some werent even screwed into the beams of the house! Literally just a piece of drywall taped to the rest of the wall that wasn't taken out. They were HUGE slackers, and I'd have to call them back out to fix it and point out what they had done wrong and they acted like it was no big deal that they were trying to cut corners and skip steps in my house. Walls: 4/10 The walls look rushed and amateur for how the company portrays themselves. You can see the areas the old wall stops and the new wall starts, it has a huge "seam" in it. The texture doesn't match the old texture throughout the house and applied unevenly. They cut out the wall socket holes without measuring, obviously, leaving huge gaps where even the face plate for the electrical outlets don't cover. I called them to ask them to come fix the problem and Justin has yet to contact me about it. The communication of this company is horrid. Overall my experience was TERRIBLE and I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone in the future. I've had other contractors come in my house and actually comment on how bad of a job it is. I have never written a review before about a company but I felt that no one else should fall into the trap that is Next Door Painting. Thanks.

I had a great experience with Next Door Painters, who painted almost the entire interior of my home in Houston. The owner, Blake, was really friendly and helpful. I knew I wanted the house to be gray but didn't know the exact shade. He gave me some suggestions and recommended I get samples ahead of time to make sure I liked the shade. His painters were also really nice and got a 3-4 day job done in 2 days. Price wasn't too bad either considering it was almost the entire house. They also did a minor Sheetrock repair and re-stained our front door. I would highly recommend them!

We ended up paying additional $200, "owner" left text asking when he could come by to be paid before checking out work. Would not hire again

Although I ended up selecting another contractor due to a positive review from a coworker (which was basically a tiebreaker), I wanted to post a review about the bid process. JJ was prompt for our appointment (and you know how rare that is in the Houston area!), and took the time to listen to what work I needed to have done before offering his advice and then providing a competitive and detailed quote.
