Duvall Painting was recommended to us by a co-worker and we are also very happy with their work! Our back deck desperately needed to be stained because the last company we hired did a terrible job (twice) so it had taken a beating from the weather. We had another company quote us a price that was just outrageous! But Scott came out and quoted us a price for staining the deck, caulking/painting our double front porch, pressure washing the house and deck/porches, and caulking/painting the baseboards in our downstairs rooms. He did all of this for less than the price the first company wanted for the deck alone! Duvall Painting did a fantastic job! The front porches had some wood rot that had to be repaired, but the additional cost Scott charged was minimal. The deck and porches look brand new! The baseboards in our home are beautiful (and not a single mess in the house). Scott suggested we add another coat of stain to the deck because of how much the first coat absorbed, but let us wait a couple days to decide. He was right...it needed another coat. We went ahead and paid him for the extra coat then the rain set in and he couldn't come back for a few days, but he came back just like he said! Scott was very nice, easy to reach, reliable, and they did great work! We will be using them again and will recommend him to anyone needing work done. Great company! We are extremely pleased!

June 2016 Scott’s crew just painted my masonite siding homes exterior – how easy was this for me!! He came out did a review, emailed a quote the next day breaking out the painting and carpentry repair. He’s got a top notch crew leader, carpenter, painter (J. Liberty). This job got done -- pressure washing, scraping, sanding, caulking, wood and siding replacement. All seams sealed nail holes filled. Cleaned up every day -when I got home each day I saw progress no guess as to what had been done– Sherwin Williams paints. Finishing touch – a sky blue ceiling in my big front porch, Scott’s suggestion. Man am I glad I did that – it’s a Charleston thing even though I’m in Columbia. Relaxing if you spend time on your porch. Pricing --- I obtained several quotes he was in the middle along with (2) other companies. I chose him over the other (2) for his professionalism and his company checked out completely with insurance, workman’s comp, plenty of good reviews and no ridiculous requirements like paying for all the material upfront or 50% down etc etc etc - His crew got in here got the job done in (4) days straight. At completion Scott and I walked it and there were no issues. Wrote a check and done!!! I got a brand new paint job with a sealed up house. We contacted Scott as we needed a 3rd quote for a insurance claim. We had looked at his reviews and noticed a friend had used him recently and gave big praises. I called Scott Thursday night at 900 PM. I needed help FAST. A sale fell through with a tenant and they took to 3200 square feet 20 foot ceilings in some places with a bleaching agent....the whole house and baseboards needed to be repaired and painted. I’m in Nevada. Scott and his crew arrived the next morning and in two days they painted from top to bottom. Drywall repairs and all. They were professional, timely, and he is my guy for ANY painting. Perhaps I got his worst crew or the guys were having a bad day; however, I did not have the same experience the other postings here had. The crew was a little late. They claim Scott misspelled my address. No big deal. I left them there and went to work. When I returned home that night, my place was a disaster. I checked my phone and had a few voicemails from Scott asking where I was because I hadn't been there to pay his crew even though I had communicated I had to go out of town to pick up my kids after work. Demanding payment was laughable given the state of my house. Scott had ensured me the walls would be sanded, furniture and floor covered, I would never know they were there. I came home to paint all over the floors, on my new dining room set, on the sink, vanity, tub, and kitchen backsplashes. There were obvious areas where there was no sanding done, and the laundry which was also contracted to be painted hadn't been touched. In addition, in the bathroom, there is a spare room for the toilet and it was obvious they had ran out of paint and just left the room half done. I called Scott and he sounded amazed in disbelief and asked if he could send a crew in the next morning and I agreed. His first guy showed up the next morning who was not there the previous day. I showed him the house and there was nothing but agreement from him. I later got a call from Scott who was now taking a defensive stance with me arguing about how many coats of paint were contracted. I told him I did not care about the coats I was concerned with a final product. Also the number of coats is irrelevant if they aren't applied correctly. In the case of the bathroom the earlier coats weren't allowed to dry prior to painting over them with the subsequent coats causing insufficient coating of the previous color allowing it to bleed through. I told Scott I wasn't going to argue this with him over the phone and he shouldn't either as he had not seen the work personally. Scott arrived an hour later. After walking through the house and seeing all that I pointed out, his position on the matter changed and he assured me everything would be corrected. I left and returned early that afternoon. The major items had been resolved. That said, it has been a week later now and like anyone else I've started to notice the small things. Things that shouldn't and wouldn't be there if the care was taken to protect and clean up after themselves like Scott promised when he did my first walkthrough of the house. There is paint on my kitchen backsplashes, un-scraped walls, and paint on my bath and kitchen fixtures. Scraping paint with my fingernails when I see it somewhere it shouldn't be is my new OCD hobby. Interestingly enough, I got a call from Scott's wife while writing this review. I told her about the issues I have found since service was performed and she offered to have Scott call me or send guys over to clean what I am finding. I told her that wouldn't be necessary because at this point it would be more inconvenient for me to take time off work to let someone into my house to clean that it would be for me to do it myself over time. In summary, they are cheaper than everyone else. They do ok work on their own. If you complain they make an honest effort to resolve the complaint. But if you want to professional service they promise, I would recommend staying home while work is being done, or at the very least check in in person several times a day. Just saw the response! That is laughable. My address was 305 Coulter Pine Lane and you most certainly did a sub-par job on my home.

Scott's crew did a great job painting the exterior of my brick home, as well as the interior walls & ceiling of my living room. Scott does a good job of communicating the pricing (which is very fair), scope of the work, and other relevant details of the job. The exterior was a big job and they handled it like professionals. They were finished in 2 days and the quality of the work was very good. During this time, the crew was very friendly and open to answering questions I had. There were certain areas on the exterior that needed a little more attention after the crew was done, and Scott came by and personally reviewed those areas and made sure that the crew spent a little more time on them the next day. The inside of the home was also finished very nicely. The supervisor on the job even went the extra mile and filled in a large crack that naturally occurs in plaster ceilings, and after painting you couldn't even tell it was there. It was nice of them to do that even though it wasn't something that we had negotiated. I would recommend Scott's business to other homeowners in the area looking for fair prices and quality results.
