I selected Sisu Painting because I'm partial to female owned and operated businesses and noted their stellar reviews from previous customers. Sisu Painting partners with NewTech to address bad siding issues which I had. NewTech replaced cracked and warped siding panels for a total cost of $8800. Before the painting commenced, Sisu mailed me paint samples on card stock to make sure of my color selection for the trim and the body of the house. Sisu pressure-washed the house and waited one day before prepping the home by priming the replaced siding panels, removing and replacing old caulk, and covering windows and areas not targeted for new paint. Robert, the lead painter, answered my questions and kept me appraised of the status of the project. All of the crew members were focused on providing a superior product as illustrated by their attention to detail and cleaning up after themselves. One of my cats stepped on some wet paint as Miguel was painting the trim on a door the led to the elevated deck. Cat paint tracks got on the wood floor in the kitchen and Miguel immediately removed the evidence from my naughty kitty. Near the end of the project, Nancy, the co-owner, dropped by to request my feedback and I mentioned overspray areas. These were immediately addressed by Robert. The total cost of the paint project was $10775 and well worth it. I will definitely recommend Sisu Painting to my friends and neighbors.

Fabulous Faux Finishing! I was looking for a unique wall treatment that would set rooms in my home apart. During a consultation with Nancy & Cylina they showed me examples of faux finishing that they do. They were amazingly beautiful. The first one was a glazing technique and I could already see and sense the warmth and coziness it could add to my bedroom with its varied color. The other was more complex– it was called Venetian plastering. It added a dramatic, rich, silky surface to the walls and just the look I was seeking for my home office. I have seen the impressive exterior painting by Sisu Painting, Inc. and have referred them many times. I am very excited to know they can take interior painting to this high level too. I look forward to getting my own project started!

Refused to come out and give me a quote unless I was there. I explained how difficult that was and that I could be phone accessible, but they were insistent. I get it, they want to have an opportunity to show me how great they are in person. That is certainly their prerogative, but not the type of service I need. I found other contractors, of equal or better reputation, who were willing to come out. And we communicated just fine without me being on site.

Couldn't be happier with our experience with Sisu. Alyssa, the project manager, kept us posted on scheduling and was sweet as can be. Derek, and the head of the painting crew, in particular was charming, professional and very attentive to detail. The crew were not intrusive on the days we were home yet were very friendly and genuine. They even finished the job early! They have been incredibly responsive to all forms of communication from day one, before we even hired them. Nancy (boss lady) even emailed from vacation and Derek sent photos of what they completed if we were out when they left for the day and immediately answered after hours questions about what was wet or dry! And after the job was done and we asked for suggestions for some work we were going to do ourselves, Nancy took the time to do her own research to find a color that would match the ones we had already used. We'd use them again in a heartbeat!

Very well organized, professional, and responsive company. From the minute I picked up the phone and spoke to the first gal over the phone, to Nancy's initial visit, to the follow-up phone calls, and completion, everything was done very efficiently and professionally. This company has it dialed in and does not miss a beat with anything. From color selection, to customer follow-up, & satisfaction, they only have the best intensions and want to make sure the customer is #1. Nancy responded within hours to all my emails and questions. She was very detailed and thorough and never missed a beat. We originally had to put our interior painting on hold for a few months, and they followed up very professionally to see if there was anything needed in the meantime. When I told them I would call back when we are ready, they weren't pushy and very kind. They followed up when I said I was ready and didn't pester me in between. They even offered a final walk through after completion to confirm customer satisfaction, most contractors don't offer this option and honestly don't care. Very happy customer and will definitely be back in the future!

The dingy paint on the walls in my teenage son's bedroom was making me crazy, but he was really reluctant to make a change. Nancy Long come out and looked at the room and it only took her about 5 minutes to settle on the perfect color, based upon what I had told her about my son's personality and lifestyle. We scheduled the painting to be done while he son was away at outdoor school - Cylina did a fantastic job - and when he walked into his newly painted bedroom for the first time, I heard my (generally cynical) 16 year-old exclaim, "Mom, my bedroom looks great!" So just finished our exterior paint job and I couldnt be happier with Sisu and the work done by Derek and his crew( RJ, Ezequiel, Juan, Julian, and MartinB). I got 4 bids and chose Sisu because they back rolled the first coat ( only one other bid did that). They carried away waste water rather than dumping it on my lawn as another company wanted to do. We had decided that we were going to need to find a bigger home because our family was growing. The paint job on our old home was going to make selling difficult. They were very knowledgeable about their product and business. I felt like we got a good deal. In the process of scraping our lead based paint, Sisu kept our home very clean. The paint that came back was slightly different than what we looked at on the color sample. Honestly I didn’t notice the difference, but Nancy did. She reordered a higher grade of paint at no extra charge to get the match just right. Nancy and Sisu painting are exemplary professionals. This painting crew was professional, easy, and fun to work with from start to finish. They arrived when they said they would and I had no concerns with them being in my home. Information for 1 small change order was clearly communicated and confirmed prior to moving forward. Job was quoted as 2 days. It was, even though the crew had to work past 5 on a Friday evening. Both owners checked in during the project. One of my pre-job concerns was that I have rounded corners throughout the project and the lines are very clean on ALL corners. I did not have to call them on follow up ... I only needed 1-2 minor touch ups and they did not hesitate. I will use Sisu again.

If you are looking for more than a simple interior painting job, then Sisu Painting, Inc. offers many options. I was quite impressed with the wide variety of faux wall treatments available. But better still, they have large sample boards to view which helps to take away the fear of trying something new. Among Portland painters, they offer far more than basic painting, although they do that as well!

Don't bother getting bids and shopping around, just hire Sisu. You won't have a single regret. We were impressed from the start at the full and complete information they gave us, and then further impressed that they do a color consultation with you. (Wow, I was really about to pick the wrong color because I didn't fully understand the many differences between interior and exterior paint jobs.) But it was the paint job itself that blew us away. They taped up everything so carefully and perfectly that there isn't a single drop anywhere.. The paint job is literally perfect. We have four different colors on the house and they are each so sharply lined and finished that you would not think it could possibly have been done by hand. We've already had neighbors come over and ask who did our paint job because they want to hire them. These are the kinds of things that can't be illustrated in a bid. Don't try to save yourself a few meager dollars by finding a cheap bid. Get a really, really good paint job from Sisu and you'll be thanking yourself for years to come.

This has been the best contractor experience. Sisu Painting treated my house like it was there own. The work was beautiful and the process couldn't have been better. Nancy's help with colors was terrific. Hector and his crew were professional, arrived everyday at 8:00 am, kept my house spotless, not one "ding" or scratch or drop of paint on anything. My first initial call to Sisu Painting was welcoming and professional. I was setup with a walk through for a Estimate quickly. When Nancy came out, she was extremely friendly and within 24 hours I got a online quote for external trim painting which was easy to navigate and sign on line. A week later, the workers showed up even earlier than expected and that continued for the three days of work. Eric and Kyle were professional, detailed and polite. To my surprise they identified some dry rot on my front porch.. I was impressed that they were even looking forward and concern on what to do about. Eric told me he could fix it and that he was not just a painter, but a carpenter when he is not painting. So I called Mike at Sisu Painting and asked for a quote to fix this. The quote was done quickly and was very reasonable and cheap. The end results were amazing and fixed on the second day of work.. When asked what paint I wanted, I said the Trim is white and I really do not know what white it is.. White is not always white. Nancy recommended a color that was just great and I trusted her judgement. I was sent a sample quickly for my approval in the mail before work started.. On the last day which was touch up day, I did a walk through and e-mailed Nancy with some areas I would like addressed. She e-mailed me quickly and the next morning talked with the Painter Kyle who said we will address your concerns and fix it and said "Details Matter to Us" I Recommend this company to anyone.. They were recommended to me by a competitor who could not do the work I wanted until April.. They said they are good and a little cheaper than us.. So that says a lot to me.. The owners, Office Staff, and Painters were extremely professional and quick to respond by phone or e-mail and the end results Look GREAT!!!

I consulted with several companies before selecting Sisu to paint the exterior of our home. Their estimate was comparable or slightly lower than some of the other companies and they were open to my requests regarding a different line of paint than the one they initially selected. Nancy came out to assist me with choosing paint colors. All of the owners and staff were friendly and professional. The painters were very thorough in their prep work and painting. Many homes in our neighborhood were painted this summer and I only saw one other painting company spend as much time and effort doing as thorough of a job as Sisu. When our front door's finish did not meet my expectations, Nancy and Cylina both came out to look at it and discuss a solution. After an additional coat of stain, it was much improved. The final product is excellent. Our home looks brand-new and random strangers that walk in our neighborhood have commented to me about how nice it looks. When we decided to paint the interior walls of our condo, I asked a couple of businesses to provide an estimate. Without a doubt, Nancy at Sisu gave us the MOST thorough and detailed bid/proposal that I've ever seen. We had a trip planned and Sisu did the work while we were out of town. I never worried once about turning over the condo to them. When we returned, we walked into what looked like a brand new home! Derek and his crew did wonderful work and Derek came back a few weeks later to do a little extra work for us painting the trim in a bathroom. The people at Sisu, from the owners to the office staff to the painters, are professional and made sure the project went smoothly. I even received updates on how the painting was going while we were away. Highly, highly recommended!!

My husband and I hired Sisu Painting to paint our master bedroom, master bathroom (including the existing vanity) and guest bedroom in our 1968 home. Most of the walls in our house were white and the window and door trim was all natural wood as were all the doors. The previous homeowners had painted some walls, but they had chosen very odd colors and they had put wallpaper in the bathroom that was hideous, in my opinion. Nancy and Cylina came to our home to look at our project and help us pick colors. We had an idea of what we wanted, but weren' t comfortable picking colors without their expert advice, especially when it came to deciding which colors would look good together. Nancy listened to what we wanted and gave us suggestions that were perfect. She later picked out the colors for our guest room on her own based on what we had told her before. Sisu removed the wallpaper from the bathroom and painted all three rooms, including the wood trim and doors - I was completely amazed by the transformation. I had no idea how much the old colors were affecting me because they were so bold and uncomfortable. Now my rooms are beautiful colors, the trim and doors are an amazing creamy beige color and I can' t wait for Sisu to paint more rooms in our house!

I was very pleased with Sisu painting. I contracted with Sisu to paint the interior of my townhome. Like others, I had started painting the rooms myself, but eventually decided that because of the layout of my house and the tall two story walls in the entrance that hiring a professional painter would be much easier. I got a couple of bids, and although Sisu's bid was higher, I was impressed with them during the bidding process and I felt they would do a better job. Their customer service was top-notch. The finished product looked great, and there was no comparison between the quality of their work and the few rooms I had painted myself. Do you need your house painted? Inside or Outside? Special Custom Finish? Well then it's simple -- hire Sisu Painting to get the quality paint job for your home. First of all, they are a women owned company (great women at that I might add). Second, and what was important for us, is that have full time, and long time, employees which are trained to the high quality the owners demand. The owners, Nancy and Cylina, are actively involved in all aspects of the job. Nancy has an amazing color sense -- I knew the colors I wanted for the interior, but I had no idea about the exterior colors. Bid for interior job (over wallpaper) was competitive. Sisu painting was knowledgeable about painting over wallpaper and taught me a few things I don't know. Had Sisu over for a interior color consult and interior home painting bid. Overall experience was disappointing and overpriced. The color consult was a serious waste of money. After she left and I had all the paint chips laid out in front of me, all I saw was a bunch of colors representing someone that didn't listen to a word we said. For example, I specifically said I loved the color of the exterior of our home (a grey blue color) but I didn't want that color in the interior. Well she pushed us toward selecting a paint color for our living room and entryway that was almost the exact same color as the exterior of the house. Seriously. I held the paint chip up to the exterior of the house and it was like one shade darker. That's a tad too much blue for me but she wouldn't show us any other color options until after she left and we emailed Sisu and said that color is not going to work for us. At least the response was quick to our email but all we got was a list of color names and vague descriptions and we had to go to the local paint store to figure out what color those actually were. If I wanted to go to the paint store and pick out colors myself I wouldn't have hired Sisu to come over and do a color consult. Total waste of time and money. I'm probably just going to hire someone else to redo their shoddy color consult job or just do it myself now. The estimate for the interior painting job was ridiculously over priced. Like I don't know if they were going to be painting with gold paintbrushes or something but no other company bid even half the cost they quoted us. I asked around to make sure I wasn't hallucinating or being unreasonable and everyone else I knew just about did a spit take when they heard the price we were quoted. For all the good reviews on here, I did not expect the high price and mediocre experience we had with them. I will give them credit for being on time and reasonably responsive. It's just too bad their prices are outrageous and their color consult was lack luster.

I can’t believe the service and the professionalism; I received a “thank You” email the next day and received my bid shortly after. The work is done very quickly and professionally; they painted around my office schedule and finished painting when they said they would with very little inconvenience. We have hired paint contractors over the years and none of them can compare to Sisu Painting, Inc. Their communication skills are excellent at all levels within their organization to their client. Allyssa the project manager immediately answered any question we had. There were no surprises. We were informed at each step in the process. They double checked the paint we wanted and sent "large" samples, without being asked. Derek C. and his crew (Luis, Lisa, RJ and Kevin) were always on time, worked hard and cleaned the site at the end of each day. Derek and his crew masked or took off pieces that the previous painters had sprayed over. They even pulled out the old caulking, before apply new caulking! The entire team is very conscientious and careful. We were particularly grateful, when Derek pointed out where our siding was beginning to fail. One side of our house is 3 stories high and has dormers, so it is difficult to monitor what is happening to the exterior of the house. Sisu also has contractors they work with that can do repair work. Sisu will then come back and do paint touch-ups. It was an overall very pleasant experience to work with Sisu. They do a great job helping to pick a house color and accents and the work was pretty quick. The exterior paint has held up well, even with washing. From the quoting process through to the final cleanup and walk thru, the entire SISU Painting team was very professional and courteous. Nancy provided the quote and answered all of our questions. This was our first painting of these rooms since we built the house 17 years ago...so it was about time!!! She was very knowledgeable and no issues discussing the "Nail Pops" that needed to be fixed as part of the project. The preparation each day was very meticulous......I think the prep took as long as the actual painting!!! The paint team of Jose, Lisa, Eric and Marco were extremely careful of all our possessions and the tape job was stellar....There was not a drop paint on any of the trim which is truly amazing considering the scope of the taping necessary in our house. The rooms are quite large with a lot of builtin cabinets......and 14' ceilings in the Family Room. The paint team arrived promptly every day....and cleaned up before they left each day. We needed to get the painting completed before hosting a 85th birthday party for my mother. They completed the entire job "ON SCHEDULE". Painting lasted 5 days, Monday thru Friday. Cylina, one of the owners, came by for a final walk thru on Tuesday, giving us time to look over the entire job and see if there were any issues. I am glad to say we had NO issues requiring any followup. I found this quite amazing based on the size of the job!!! I HIGHLY recommend SISU Painting for any of your interior paint work......The entire team was a pleasure to work with and very courteous and professional. I was selling a house and they buyer required a bit of custom caulking and paint work in the repair addendum. I was on a short timeline and did an internet search for local providers with positive reviews. I was immediately impressed with Sisu Painting's web presence. I'm surprised at how often vendors don't have any web presence. Sisu's site was helpful and informative. I sent out about 6 or 7 requests for proposals to a variety of vendors and only heard back from 2. Sisu got right back to me. I generally find if a vendor is lazy about securing new work, that is what you can expect from them when it comes to the job at hand. I selected Sisu over the other vendor because they seemed detail oriented and professional. They ended up doing a fantastic job in the timeline required which is saying something given the number of rainy days we had in March. Anyway, great job. I'm happy I chose them. Everyone I worked with from the painters to admin to the accounts receivable staff was professional and helpful. I would highly recommend Sisu.

We had a GREAT experience with Sisu Painting! We recently hired them to paint and glaze our kitchen cabinets … and they look fabulous! Our house is 17 years old and the cabinets were definitely showing their age. On recommendation of our designer, we talked with Sisu about glazing our cabinets, something we had not considered before. Nancy made the initial visit to our home and was very thorough in explaining how the process worked and the formal bid came back within a couple of days. They were not the least expensive option we considered, but in the end we felt comfortable with Nancy and Cylina and chose to go with them. The paint crew was very courteous and respectful and did an amazing job of taping down everything and tenting off the kitchen from the rest of the room. The paint job was completed on-time and the crew took care to tidy up the job site at the end of each day. Cylina did the glazing and took great artistic care in making everything look consistent. There was one communication mishap that occurred on our job which caused a minor time delay; one cabinet has glass doors, the plan was to have the interior of that cabinet glazed as well. The paint crew ended up taping off the cabinet box, so it was skipped. One phone call to Nancy clarified the miss and they came back and painted and glazed the interior of the cabinet in a matter of days. We would highly recommend using Sisu Painting and intend to use them again ourselves for an upcoming project.

Until I met this group I thought all painters were alike. They have changed my opinion about painting and painters forever. They give you a bid quickly and explain all the costs (in writing). They are professional in appearance and in actions. They show up when they say they will. They are attentive to customer needs and concerns, and they are polite and almost invisible. They complete the job when they say they will and leave things just like they found them (or better). Their work is impeccable. They suggest a wide range of paint options but tell you what you need to know to make the decision for your room (or in my case outdoor room).
