Bodecker painting did a marvelous job in the interior and exterior of our house. They were reasonable priced, very professional, and did tidy work.

John Smith

The owner of this business is not only a painter, but he's also flips houses. This man was extremely combative during the whole process of buying his house. Several times, we nearly walked away from it. (If we didn't like the house itself so much, we would have.) He gave both our realtor and our finance people a tremendous amount of grief. His own realtor went MIA, which I found highly suspect. So, our realtor had to take over assisting him in order to get the deal done for us. He was highly resistant to any negotiation regarding price and made unreasonable demands. He banked on our close occurring sooner than it did and went to buy his next flip, counting on funds from the sale of our house to fund it. When the close didn't occur when he anticipated it, suddenly it was everyone else's fault and he wanted everyone else to take the fall for his bad decision making. He suddenly demanded "rent" from us for allowing us to store items in his house in the interim to cover his holding costs on his next flip. However, he wanted an unreasonable amount of money ($1000). Our things had also already been there for several weeks without him mentioning any additional costs upfront. He also put pressure on the realtor and finance people to make the close occur sooner, against federal laws that were in place regarding loan waiting periods. We agreed to pay $500. In the meantime, unknown to us our realtor got his holding costs waived. (Despite this, he ultimately still wanted his $500....see next paragraph) The realtor tried to buffer us from this guy. When he didn't have any luck getting a hold of us through our realtor, he showed up at our door at 10 AM on a Sunday morning still wanting his "rent" (it somehow fell between the cracks during the closing process) and his key lockbox. While there, he also badmouthed our realtor, who he referred to as a "loser". (Basically, verbiage a high school kid would use.) His workmanship on the house was poor in several regards and some things just plain odd.....splattered paint, a group of blotches on one of the bathroom walls that was supposedly painted, a huge hole left in one of the walls (which we suspect was created by a punch from him when he got mad), a toilet that we had to replace after we moved in, a sloppily installed dishwasher, cheap carpet installed that pills very badly, missing drainage hose for the humidifier that was dripping on (and rusting) the furnace and its air pipes, paint/plaster that I had to clean out of the refrigerator, and a missing remote for the garage door which we haven't been able to retrieve. Regarding the toilet, the flushing components in the tank weren't sealing. To repair, we had to remove the tank. However, we couldn't remove it due to rusted bolts. It ended up being cheaper to buy a new toilet than to call a plumber. We think Bokeder knew about this since there is evidence he tried to make the repair (the bolts to the floor were loose, the water was turned off, and the wax seal on the outtake was missing), and when he couldn't remove the bolts to the tank he just left it. Regarding the dishwasher, there are gaps between it and the cabinetry, you can see insulation foam in the gaps, and the countertop is in the way and hangs over the controls, which are on top. He also hooked the dishwasher to a light switch. This guy is a loose cannon and doesn't make an investment in quality in order to make a fast buck. I would suggest avoiding in all regards. UPDATE 1/21/2016 - We were told we were getting a one year home warranty when we bought the house. Discovered when we went to file a claim that Matt Bodeker had it struck from the contract after the fact.

Not only my painter but also my landlord. Any time I have any issues with the house all I have to do is text or call. I had an AC issue and roofing issues. I called him and the next day by noon on both occasions he had someone there to fix the issue. I also lost my job and lost 2/3 of my salary and Matt was very patient he adjusted my due dates and assist in every way possible. Any time painting or anything else needs to be complete he is right on time. Cant wait for my new paint to hit the walls later this summer.
