Bill's Painting and Carpentry had been contracted by my neighbors in northern Kentucky, to do painting work on the exterior trim of their house. I had been informed by the home owner (my neighbor) that work would require accessing the alley between our homes, and I had been assured that the crew would clean up the area each day of work. I came home in the evening after work to find all of my property moved and not put back as instructed by my neighbor; in addition, there was littered a pop can in the alley. My water hoses for watering my plants and lawn had been disconnected; cinder blocks had been moved. This is unprofessional behavior and not in keeping with the clear instructions given by my neighbor. The response I received on the phone from the business owner, Bill, was extremely rude and hostile, and he indicated no personal responsibility for his work crew in having moved my property without my permission or replacing it to its original location. In fact he went so far as to state that the home owner, my neighbor, was responsible for moving all my property back to its original place--not his own work crew that moved my things. Morever, he felt that I had "threatened" him in simply stating that I would file a complaint with the BBB; I feel such negligence is due cause for such a complaint, and one has been filed. Bill's unprofessional behavior in handling my concerns, stating only that he'd be out the next morning, was upsetting, and his foul language (which I will not type here) on the phone was menacing. Others should be aware of the unprofessional conduct of this business owner and his crew. Caution before hiring this contractor!
