This will be the THIRD time we are using J&W Painting. The first time we were in a rush to get the ceilings and a very large cinderblock basement painted in a house we were trying to get on the market. Justin and crew showed up when they said they would, with all the paint and equipment they needed and worked like demons to get the job done as quickly as possible. When they left, everything was immaculate. And the price was very fair. The second job was rather unusual. We had purchased a log home. The interior logs had never been finished and the ceiling in one area was close to 30-ft high. The logs needed to be sanded, caulked between the logs and then sealed. We were worried about the ladders on the wood floors but the guys came prepared and were done before we knew it. No drips or scratches on the wood floors and the walls look great. For this new job, we need a product called Sikkens applied to the exterior of our log home. It has be applied by brush. Additionally, cracks in and between the logs need to be filled prior to application. To do our due diligence, we got estimates from other painters in the area but when it came time to hire someone, we went back to Justin and J&W. We are confident he will do his usual excellent job.

After informing Justin that he had only been on the job site to collect payment and not to supervise what has been a very unprofessional job, he packed up and left the job. This came to a head after I discovered that his paint crew members had not opened windows prior to painting them. Using painter's drop cloths and tape is anathema to them. They started painting before completely prepping the job and still have not finished that! The contract to paint was submitted by Justin only 1 day prior to their initially "finishing" the job. I had asked for the contract since our initial interview. I had said to Justin during that interview at the house. "Don't you want to take notes". In addition to being a bad contractor, he doesn't have a very good memory because he did not include the things we discussed that he said he could do and mentioned no exceptions to the things he could not do that one would expect of a "professional" paint contractor. The prevalent attitude throughout the job has been to do only what they could get away with. I have been surprised throughout by Justin's attitude. He's supposedly a professional artist in addition to being a painting contractor. I thought artists were particular about their work. His father Marcelo who has always before demonstrated a professional attitude seemed to try to do the best he could under the restrictions placed on his professionalism by his son the owner of the business. Justin's response to my comment about the degree to which he was exercising any supervision of the job other than showing up for a few minutes to harangue his paint crew to hurry up and get payment from me was "So you're saying my father is a bad supervisor". I replied "No I have the utmost respect for your father and your mother (the best dental hygienist I've ever been to). You are a bad supervisor. Be warned. This guy does not believe in customer satisfaction.

I’ve had experience with J&W painting for over a decade and have recommended and received high praise personally upon my friends and families experiences with Justin and his father Marcelo. I’ve always felt my input was respected and also firmly abided by throughout every job request however tedious or inane I assume some request may have been I never felt like I was treated as anything less than family. The level of professionalism is above and beyond standard and this characteristic reflects in the aesthetic of their refined abilities and the love they so clearly put into their work. Through many years they’ve consistently maintained the beauty of my families homes and have become trusted friends and advisors. My in laws were most appreciative to have such an respectful young man whom was knowledgeable and innovative. Providing creative faux finishes and unique touches to a long loved and cherished family home. His work brought value to our homes and gave us pride in living in them. On a personal note I found the company of his staff, Justin and his father Marcelo to be quite enjoyable, always working with a smile on their faces and a great attitude through all climates. Highly commend their honorable work ethic and craftsmanship. You’ll be hard pressed to find a more professional, seasoned, flexible, affordable (especially considering the works quality!!), elite team to handle the job!!! Don’t miss out on an opportunity to work with these gentleman I’m certainly grateful to Justin and his staff. Ten out of five stars easily :)

They came in and was doing a good job until it came close to the end. There was paint left on the floor that I had to clean up and then they left one door that I wanted painted unpainted. These guys are not professional painters. They are unprofessional. I tried contacting them about it and they would not accept my call. The whole time they were here they gossiping and cussing and just very unprofessional.
