Scheduling the Free Estimate on their website was simple and straight forward. Someone called (Tyler/Taylor?) the day of the estimate saying they would be by in about an hour. No one needed to be home as it was a strictly outdoor job. Well 8 days later I called cause I hadn’t heard anything else from them. I was told I’d get the estimate before the end of the day. Now, several days after, I haven’t received an estimate or a call with an explanation. Yet, I’ve received marketing emails from them! Sloppy & Unprofessional. I am thankful though because this told me all I needed about them and I do not want to do business with them.

Fantastic experience with every member of Five Star Painting we worked with! AJ came for the initial estimate and was professional, friendly, and ook his time making sure he knew exactly what we were looking for. He got the estimate back to us quickly and both he and Robin were very helpful answering a few questions over the phone. Scheduling was easy and Ellison and his crew worked efficiently and were very careful to keep everything clean and tidy up at the end of each day. Once the job was complete not only did Ellison do a full walkthrough to make sure we were satisfied but both AJ and Robin checked in as well. When we actually moved in a few weeks later they even came back to fix a few spots that we hadn't seen on the walkthrough. Overall excellent experience and we would definitely hire them again.

From start to finish, Five Star Painting Raleigh Durham Triangle did a wonderful job for us. We had a water damage claim and following the work that was done to fix our ceilings and walls, Five Star came in to match the existing paint colors on our walls, blend in the colors to be sure they matched and bring us back to normal. The quote process was simple- one email to them had a member of the team out to do a quote for us. They quoted the insurance claim portion separate from a couple other painting projects we wanted to have done while they were there and they were more than happy to split out the jobs. I would have given zero stars if that is an option. Work was sloppy at best. Estimate was wrong and we were blamed for it. We were blamed for windows being dusty though clearly it was Sheetrock dust as we had them professionally cleaned prior to their work. Crew members wrote messages in the dust. Paint was left in the kitchen sink and Paint drips were all over surfaces they shouldn’t have been. Job wasn’t finished on the first round and we were blamed for it. Customer service ia terrible. Frustrating to work with other than their office staff Susie who was great. Take my advice don’t fall for the low price! Hire a more professional company who cares about their work.

I was preparing my house to sell it and needed the kitchen, living room, and foyer painted. All three areas have very high vaulted ceilings. Robin at Five Star was recommended to me by my realtor. They did a great job on the wall prep, painting, and clean up. I was replacing a darker color with a lighter off white paint, and the two coats they applied covered the old darker paint perfectly. Robin was very responsive and listened to make sure they understood exactly what I wanted done. The work was performed in a timely manner and there was very little mess and clean up afterwards. I have Pergo floors and had the base boards painted also and there was almost no paint on the floors when they were done, and what little was there came up easily. I also thought the price charged was very reasonable for the amount of and quality of work they performed.

We found Five Star Painting after having a horrific experience with another company and we couldn't be more pleased. After getting quotes from 4 other companies, we met Robin and hired Five Star to paint our entire downstairs, top to bottom, kitchen cabinets and all. This was no small feat as our home hadn't been painted in decades and there was a need for tons of patching, caulking and general sanding/cleaning. Robin arrived early and walked me through everything again and started moving my furniture, etc. The crew arrived and immediately went to work on prep, taking great care to protect our new flooring. They continued to work hard and in 2 days and the results were spectacular. They cleaned up after themselves and put all of our furniture and accessories back. Robin did a walk-through while they were clearing out and again after they did the minor touch ups he pointed out. The crew was courteous and patient with me. My home looks unbelievably refreshed and clean and just lovely. It's ready to go on the market, but now I kind of want to stay! I really just can't say enough good things about Five Star Painting and I will certainly be hiring them to work on our new home one day.

I have a wrought iron fence surrounding my entire property (1.3 acres), and it had not been painted in decades. Peeling, rusty, worn, the fence, while structurally intact, was in great disrepair and needed significant work. Five Star's expert team worked for days cleaning, sanding, priming, and painting and did a stellar job. Whenever they ran into unforeseen issues, the company alerted me and Robin and I looked at the issue in detail and worked in unison to find an affordable solution. The end result is stellar and the painting team was expert, polite, tidy, and great with my dog. I will use them again for my next paint job.

UPDATE: I appreciate that Five Star tried to remedy the situation. They sent out the painter to clean up today. Based on their customer service response, I feel like I can recommend them. I have used Five Star in the past, and I found the work to be of good quality and felt the price I paid was fair. However, this time I cannot say the same. I paid a little more than $630 to have our fairly large master bedroom and two baths painted. To my surprise, only one painter arrived for the job around 9am. He said his assistant called in sick. I let him know in the very beginning that I would need to be heading out for an event at 5:30pm that day. Because it was just him, I think he felt rushed. He wasn't able to finish until a little after 5:40. He did a good job on the walls--very even and whatnot--but I found a lot of splatter afterwards. Most I was able to scrape off, but not what got on my chair or what got on the windowsills. Also, he accidentally broke part of our window fixture (not sure what it's actually called? see picture). It's all small stuff, but super annoying. I expect more when I drop $600+. Again, I don't really blame the painter. I think he did the best he could but was unable to do as good a job as if he had help. But that said, I don't think I would use Five Star again.

Three weeks and counting after agreeing to their estimate, I still could not get ahold of anyone to schedule despite my multiple emails and phone calls. I got another, more reliable painter and told Five Star I would be cancelling their work order. Still no reply or acknowledgement despite CC'ing both Robin and Trent. Finally I got ahold of Robin on the phone, and he was confrontational and upset. Amateur hour. Go elsewhere.

When they arrived punctually at my house, all the men took their shoes off to walk through. They put sheets down to cover the floor as well. Not only did they do an amazing job painting both my garage and screened in porch, but they swept and vacuumed the spaces they were in before they left to ensure it was immaculate. I am pretty sure it was cleaner when they left, then it was before they got there :). I was also impressed that the workers gladly moved my stuff out from the garage and back into the garage when the paint was dry. We had some water damage to an interior wall and ceiling that needed repair, 2 bathrooms that needed the wallpaper stripped and then painted, kitchen cabinets painted, the exterior siding replaced on one wall, exterior repair of several areas of rotten wood, and the entire exterior of the house painted. Taylor Green worked closely with us every step of the way. He prepared a very thorough estimate that was very competitively priced, easy to understand, and broke out all the various charges for each task we wanted completed. The crew showed up on time every day and were professional, polite, and very efficient. Taylor stopped by every morning (and most afternoons) to make sure we understood what was going to be accomplished that day. Although we made some changes as the project progressed, the team took it in stride and it didn’t seem to bother anybody. The quality of workmanship was excellent. The repairs were completed flawlessly, the new siding looks great, and the new paint makes the house look brand new. I think the wall paper in one of the bathrooms was put on with super glue. It proved a much more difficult task than anyone anticipated with lots of wall repair but the results are beautiful. They also did a great job of matching the interior paint where the repairs occurred in other rooms so we didn’t have to repaint the entire room. The kitchen turned out better than we ever thought it would. Needless to say, we are very satisfied customers for lots of reasons: dealing with only one person, Taylor, for all the various repairs, installation, and painting vs. different contractors for each, the free services of the interior designer from Sherwin Williams for color selection, the level of professionalism from start to finish, and, most important of all, the final results! We couldn’t be happier!

For starters, because of a sudden stretch of warm weather, they contacted me to see if they could get an early start. (Like a few months early). We said okay, and the next day the whole crew showed up right at 8:00AM, and didn't stop until 5:00PM. The next day, the entire project was finished by 4. These guys work hard. Our house is by a lake, which draws bugs, webs, and mildew. The previous owners neglected the exterior paint and we really needed a paint job. Adding millicide and insecticide products to a high quality paint really has proven to be superior approach and the house looks new. Note: the pics include a lot of wood repair that is no longer obvious but the replacement pillars for the front porch are arriving in a couple of weeks and the crew will return to finish that work then. We are thrilled with the results!

My home project with Five Star Painting went great. They stained my front porch floor and rails, and replaced a cracked board. Both Trent and Robin got involved in the somewhat complex board replacement, and were very understanding when I decided I didn't like the stain color I had chosen! The painter who did the actual work was a perfectionist, which I really appreciated. We get lots of compliments on the porch now.

During the 25 years I have owned my home, I have had experiences with many painting contractors, but none as good as Five Star! From the first phone call, Taylor was very responsive in giving me a quote, and even returned a few weeks later to do it again after I changed the scope of the work. The painters arrived on time and the day that was planned. They worked very efficiently, and were very careful to cover all my furniture and rugs. Robin (Taylor's father) helped to roll up one of those rugs and put it in a different room. He also went over the whole job every day with the painters and with me to make sure everything was being done to my satisfaction. Robin came out to my house for my estimate. I got three quotes and his was in the middle, but his professionalism is what made me move forward with Five Star (appropriately named). I was a liitle concerned at first with the fact that he had a "crew" come do the work, but that was quickly alleviated when I met the actual painters and of course Robin was actually there to explain every aspect of the job to them. I ended up getting my entire house painted, my mutiple decks stained, and my numerous out-buildings painted as well. They did an amazing job. I had asked for my front porch to be painted blue, but they painted it white. When I brought it up, there was no questioning or weirdness at all, they said "yep we missed that" and fixed it the next day. I fully intend to have them come and paint the inside of my house later this year. After seeing how clean and methodical they were with the outside, I have no concerns over their future treatment of the inside.

Was rushing through everything that I felt the need to be watching him every step of the way. That should not have been be my job/responsibility. Disappointed.

We used Robin Greene’s team to paint our home’s exterior early in 2018. They were timely, professional, and very courteous. The site was cleaned daily, and touch-ups were done on the last day. We got several quotes and found Five Star to be competitive for the services we requested. We did experience some peeling on the front porch after several months but Robin promptly addressed that with no hassle. We also use them again recently to repair our LR ceiling after a leak from Florence. It was a small job, but anyone who has had drywall repair done knows it’s a pain. They were done quickly and were incredibly clean, leaving minimal dust.

During the walk through, Robin made sure that I was completely satisfied with the job, and sent the crew over to do some additional touch-ups. I had asked him if they would return to do some touch-ups after my furniture was moved in, just in case the movers damaged some of the freshly painted walls- he told me to contact them if further touch-ups were needed. Sure enough, the movers did quite a number in the stairwell and several other places around the house, but a quick text to Taylor had the crew back at my place the next day and my walls looking like new once again! Since the initial contact with the company, I have been meet with continual professionalism, responsiveness and promptness. The services that were performed was a fairly large job (removal of popcorn ceilings throughout entire house, wallpaper removal for one room and interior painting of majority of home).
