Originally it was estimated to take 2 days due to the size of the house and some minor drywall repairs we needed but when they showed up, they said they were going to try and do it in one. Sure enough they worked all day and even past their usual time but got it all complete. They also offered a follow up visit for any touch ups needed.

Express Yourself Paint painted the exterior of my part brick/part siding 1960's ranch house. It hadn't been painted in a while, so the window ledges and some other trim required considerable prep work (scraping, filling, etc.) The estimating process and scheduling the job was quick and easy. The work was done over 3 days. They came back later to fix a couple of problems that were invisible immediately after the painting but were obvious after the weather changed. I'm happy with them and the job they did, and will likely use them again when it comes time to paint my house's interior.

I was called back by someone to do an estimate right away. The estimator was thorough, took pictures with their iPad and highlighted the areas of the house that would need repair work in addition to the painting. The price was very fair for the amount of work. The painting team was exceptional. The lead walked around the house with me to understand everything that I wanted and was very clear about what they were going to do. They were always on time and worked through sporadic rain. They always cleaned up their materials and were very considerate. The real proof though was in the quality of their work. The house was beautiful, the attention to detail in the trim and doors was fantastic, and they went over and above on the deck restoration and staining they did. I recently had my bedroom and adjacent bathroom painted by the wonderful folks at Express Yourself Paint.I found them on Angie's list, really a shot in the dark, based on reviews but still not taking a chance.l was worried about how my project would be done because of the intense, dark color that existed on the walls and my desire to repaint with a softer,lighter color. I have worked with many contractors and painters in the past and have never worked with people who had the unique combination of confidence and humility. They quickly reassured me, obviously knew right away what needed to be done with a plan quickly outlined, clearly very experienced in the nuances of painting. These folks are not simply people who paint, who set up shop with the idea that painting can be done by anyone, a good way to make a living.These were folks knew what they were doing, were clearly professionals and cared about the quality of their work.. I first met with John who came to give me an estimate and assess the project but he did not simply come to give me an estimate. He sat down with me, listened to me, got to know me as a person. From that first interaction throughout the process to completion, all of my interactions were like this. They were understanding when my color selection came just 30 minutes before their start time(!) They did not complain when they had to move a LOT of furniture and years of accumulated "stuff" into the center of the room or out of the room (and they returned it to the exact initial placement. They didn't make me feel ridiculous when I decided to change the color and repaint the room. They made me feel very good that they could handle the situation the second time, with no judgement, simply support. They knew this was an expense that I had not planned for and worked with me on the cost. They made it a priority to put me on their schedule as soon as possible because they knew how badly I wanted to get this step of a bigger project completed.Every step of the process was easy with seamless interactions with the different levels of management. My room looks fantastic. I am so pleased with the results and get excited every time I walk into my room. I highly recommend them. They not only do outstanding work but are very accommodating and very easy to work. This was key because I am a very busy professional. I trusted them so much that I left my door open, had them let themselves in and allowed them to work in my house unattended. I'll start with the cost. The next closest to Express was $600 over the estimate by Express - and Express included the paint - for painting living room, kitchen, laundry area and half bath. Also the walls going up to second floor. I can't say I wasn't concerned since their price was so much lower but I read great reviews about them and decided to give them a try. The crew showed up and went about their business but were friendly and ready to answer any questions we had. It was a two day job and when it was finished the crew leader asked me to inspect the areas before they left. I found one area where they had run a bit over the molding and he was disappointed that they hadn't seen that. It was corrected before they left. I would recommend them without reservation.

The job that I hired Express Yourself Paint was a difficult job. The railings at our commercial property were faded, a little rusty and go on forever! The painters handled them with ease. The numerous spindles were washed, sanded, primed and painted to look like new. They were very careful to avoid paint splatters or overspray. The only place there was paint was on the railings. They made our yucky railings look better than new.

Other people may have an excellent experience. But I sure did not. Long story short, an estimator who had been working with Express Yourself Paint (EYP) for about 2 years came and did an estimate for a job less than 1000 dollars and I paid a deposit the same day for the job. The painters, sub-contractors, came and did a poor job. Missed an living entire room (later found out that wasn't in the work order, so even we talked about what needs to be done face-to-face, he missed it in the work order, but I was charged for the work to be done). The painters completed ignored jobs listed in the work order. Baseboard were painted nicely, but left paint on my carpet. Made a mistake in my daughters room, job not on the work order, left a mess in my daughter's ceiling and left. They scrapped all the stars off and patched the ceiling all over and just left it, even when the painter said they made a mistake. So we had to look at the ceiling with patched areas throughout on the ceiling. Tried to get in contact with the estimator, the response was extremely slow. I was given many excuses. Not until 2 weeks later the painter came out to tell me he can only do the touch out his painters didn't do the 1st time, and wasn't even going to fix my daughter's ceiling until I told him his painters made a mistake in the 1st place. Got in contact with the estimator about getting a partial refund for the work they didn't do, which was the entire livingroom and kitchen area. Originally said 50 dollars refund because they'd do me this favor, but was gonna refund me 40. Then called me back said the OWNER said why do EYP have to refund me, since they fixed the mistake and did some "extra" work. In the end, they took my money, left a mess and poor workmanship, estimator is not reliable and company is not honest to work with. I would recommend NOT to use EYP. Stay away from it. It may be just my personal experience, but it's an extremely BAD one. best of luck to you if you are going to hire them.

Richard offered my a compliment cleaning to keep my business. Ronda cleaning service will say schedule you to her convince not the customers. ronda service is separate from EYP. EYP does their best to work with the customer and make sure your happy at the end.

Edit: I was contacted by Express Yourself on February 2 apologizing for our most recent experience. They offered to send out their best painter on Thursday and have him fix everything that was wrong, free of charge. Bobby came out as scheduled on Thursday and was great. He fixed everything that the previous crew had neglected. Whatever they pay Bobby, he needs to be paid more! They also need more staff that take the approach that Bobby does! Pleased with the end result, just wish we didn't have to jump through the hoops we did to get here!! __________________________________________________________________ Never again. Below is an email that I sent directly to John & Allison at Express yourself. After a week of no response via phone or email, I called them. I learned that all of their crews are contracted labor, which explains the lack of quality control. In a nutshell, we had the crew come do touch ups a few days after the initial job was completed. They were in such a rush during the initial job and during the touch ups, we didn't know what to say. When they came to do the touch ups, they did not even have a roller and were attempting to put another coat on an accent wall that had only initially been painted with one coat. We had to loan them our painting supplies so they could get it done properly. Upon speaking to John, I was informed we would need to pay a $99 touch up fee to have them out again. See the attached pictures and judge for yourself. Keep in mind, this is after the touch ups!!! John & Allison, I hope you are doing well. I am writing to express concern over recent painting that Express Yourself completed for us. The initial days that the work was schedule to be completed was December 14 & 15. Upon starting the work, it appeared that additional workers were called in an effort to get the job completed in one day. As the day progressed, we noticed they were rushing, not paying much attention to detail. When the foreman did the final walk through with my wife, the other employees were already in the truck, waiting to leave. My wife was so shocked at the amount of bleeding paint, spatter, and general sloppiness, she didn't know what to say to them. After several days, we emailed to complain about the quality of the job. Within a few days, the same crew came out to address the issues. They, again, were in a rush to get the touch ups done and failed to remedy the problem areas. One such area was the accent wall in our master bedroom. The entire wall appeared to have only been painted with 1 coat, so we requested a second coat. Shortly after, we realized he was trying to paint it with a brush and not a roller. Upon asking him about this, he stated he did not have a roller. We had one at our old house, so we drove over to get it in an effort to have the job done properly. Even after all of this, the workmanship is disappointing, to say the least. I have attached an album that includes pictures of what the job looks like as of today, after the 'touch ups' were completed. I would like to have someone from Express Yourself come and complete this job the way it should have been completed from the beginning. I do not want another subcontractor touching this job up either. I want the quality that we had the first time we used Express Yourself several years ago at a previous home. EYP has done work at two of our locations and we were highly satisfied with both. Our first office required painting in a couple of offices, which were done quickly. The lines were straight, paint was even and furniture was put back in their original places. On offer second location, we had a wall that was damaged from 3M hooks. EYP repaired the holes and repainted the wall. You can't even tell the was damage to the wall in the first place.

Definitely avoid this company! They started demanding payment before work was finished and never finished the work once they were paid. There were paint spots left on hardwoods that I was told would not have any paint on them during the process. They did not seem to be in touch with their workers- it appeared that workers made copies of my house keys without telling me or Express yourself staff. They appear to sub out the work because they did not know that people who were supposed to be working for them were still in the house painting when they started demanding payment.

We used Express Yourself for a whole house interior repaint back in May. We interviewed three other vendors. Express Yourself was not the least expensive, but seemed to have the best combination of price, flexibility, and the willingness to get the job done properly. Like any contractor, you should plan to be onsite periodically to supervise and see that the job is done to your standards. During the course of the job, I found multiple items that I think the crew should have caught themselves, but to their credit, the team always made it right without complaint. Admittedly, I am picky, so take that into consideration as well. I would definitely use Express Yourself again and recommend them.

You know a contractor is good when other contractors want their number. Our floor guy, who came in after EYP, was impressed and took down their number. We also had a tight schedule, and EYP made it happen. To begin with, the crew was nice and personable. Our ceilings were old and had been painted over several times. The crew did a great job getting it down. There were hardly any scratches on the drywall beneath. Dust control was outstanding. With all the plastic everywhere, the place looked like Dexter's house (a good thing in this case!). The house looks so much better now. Whoever invented popcorn ceilings did such a disservice to society.

I found EYP on HomeAdvisor when I needed some help finishing up a renovation. John, the salesman, was prompt, kind, and very respectful. Their ability to tabulate the quote on their computer and give it before they left the house was great and something others didn't have. The first crew that came out would have gotten a 1 star. They were nice enough but their work was awful (had to be fixed by the second crew) and it smelled like they had been smoking inside the house (even found a cigarette butt in my toilet...disgusting!) John assured me this was not how they did business and asked that I trust them again with a second crew. I'm glad I did! The second crew (Steve, Chris, and Bryan) were outstanding and definitely more in line with what I expected from the reputation of the company! I could tell from the beginning these guys were pros. They were efficient, kind, their work was fantastic, and they were meticulous about leaving the place clean. The next time I need paintwork done I'll be calling and requesting them specifically. All in all I'd give the business 4 stars. Their screening process clearly needs work and I was disappointed that when the smoking concern came up they didn't yank the crew on the spot, but they did ultimately fix the work. Steve and crew pushed them up to 5 stars at the end of the day for this review though!

I could tell they went out of their way to plan and complete pieces of the project to minimize the impact each day with my kids coming home from school. The planning was excellent the representative was professional but unfortunately the estimate was not accurate I had to run to Benjamin Moore and buy more paint which cost me $164.00. The painters had to be compensated business is business. Overall the paint job turned out nice but one little hole in the kitchen was not filled, it's still visible so I cover it up with a sign. Like I mentioned the gentleman who put this all together was professional, friendly and easy to talk to so I thought I would at least get a call apologizing about how the estimate was so far off or at least you would think that they would offer me a coupon for a future discount. Consumers please think twice before you have Express Yourself Paint come to your home and you experience running to the store to buy more paint which of course means the time with the painters is extended. Just wish I have an overabundance of paint instead of not enough paint.

I couldn't have been happier with our choice to hire Express Yourself Paint to repaint almost the entire interior of our house. The estimate process went very smoothly and they followed up regularly without being overbearing. We had to postpone our project by several months due to unforeseen expenses and they were understanding and picked up right where we left off when we were ready to proceed. The painters (a team of two) were scheduled for an entire week as it was a large job. They arrived first thing in the morning and put in a solid 11 hours of work each day. It took them all of three days to finish the job. (For reference, our house is approximately 2,500 sq ft and there were only a few rooms they didn't paint.) The result is truly outstanding and we're in disbelief that they were able to get it done so quickly without any loss in quality. They were both friendly and professional and did a great job cleaning up after themselves each day and at the end of the project. I would recommend EYP to anyone! I've attached a few pictures - we decided on Benjamin Moore Balboa Mist with Sherwin Williams Extra White trim. *I was not incentivized to provide this review in any way!

Brit, a sales consultant and a son of the business owner should be a role model for all family owned small businesses. He came in with a MacBook Pro loaded with worksheets that allowed him to give me ballpark estimate right on the spot, as we are having conversation, so I would know how much would cost to have a project done with all the bells and whistles, and how much is for the bare bones. Because I have never hired painters before, he educated me on the process, the timeline, the cost, quality of paints being used and he recommended a designer to help me with color selection. EYP has implemented all the recommendations I advise my small business clients : 1) answer the phone or email immediately. They have an answering service and I was able to schedule an initial conversation immediately. 2) Educate your customer because they are not familiar with the project. Brit walked me through step-by-step through the project along with the timeline for each phase and the cost. 3) send the quote promptly so customers don't anxiously wait for the sticker shock. Brit has sent me a detailed quote within 5 hours with price schedule that I was expecting. Finally, EYP crew is amazing. Painting the whole interior of the house while living in it is not something that anyone looks forward to it. The crew was extremely friendly, professional, knowledgeable and they did a fantastic job. They are the type of people you don't mind having in your house for several days in the row.
