We hired Devuono painting based on the meeting we had with Nick and the detailed portfolio he presented with the description of the work to be done and how it would be completed. If only, the project reflected these first encounters. Instead, it became a nightmare, in fact, it is only after having a "true" professional painter working in my home, that I realize just how bad it was and decided to share what happened to us (as I have never written a negative review for any person, service, or company). Since we were having our living room, one bedroom, and hall/staircase area painted, we hired movers to take all furnishings out of the rooms, leaving a clean slate which we believed would make the job go quickly and ensure no damage to our belongings. When I returned home the first day, the floors were well covered, and oddly the windows all had some kind of film which totally blocked any light from coming in (I had expected tape as we have small panes on our windows, but thought nothing of it). On the second day, I arrived home and was shocked as a young man greeted me fully dressed in a white suit and covered from head to toe in paint! I couldn't believe it! He said it was from the spraying of paint as he was using a spray machine. I went into my laundry room where objects had been set on the washer and drier, and all were speckled with white paint. In fact, upon picking up the objects, you could actually see where they had been sitting as that was clear and clean, while the entire surface around them was covered with white paint. I would like to say this was the only place where this occurred, but it was not. One upstairs bedroom was being painted and a small hall. All the doors had been removed, and with the spraying, the furniture, rugs, paintings, I had stored in the bedroom not being painted was also damaged. When we called Nick, he said that they had used a spray painting technique and what I was seeing was the "overspray." We asked why spray was used and were told that it would give it a glass-like finish. However, at no point were we told spray would be used. This overspray left a bumpy, rough finish was on every baseboard heater, window sills, door frames, personal belongings everywhere. We immediately stated no more spraying and asked to meet with Nick. He arrived and we inquired as to why our two painters were young and obviously inexperienced. We were basically told he had many jobs he worked on simultaneously. We shared our concerns regarding our personal belongings and that the painting was uneven, blotchy and everywhere! He did not have much to say, other than there would be no more spraying. However, they had run out of paint (though we had ordered extra). Our paint was special order, but luckily a local paint store was able to match it. I asked a few questions at the paint store and they were shocked that spraying would be done in a home, where people and pets were living, (this is generally done in commercial or new construction). He asked for the name of the company which I did not give. I would like to say that this was the only problem on the job, but it was not. We were told two coats were done, they were not, the ceiling of the bedroom was uneven and blotchy, the sills and windows in many places thinly covered. At that point, we told Nick we NEEDED to see him (this was only the second time he had come to the site). He arrived with another experienced employee to inspect and see the work. At that point, we were under so much duress and stress, it was not a pleasant meeting. The following week, he and that worker came and finished the job. It took me days to clean the mess. We had to hire professional window cleaners as the weird covering on the windows left a film which would not come off with typical window cleaner. While this was exactly 3 years ago, it still puts me in a straight of stress. While some may have had a good experience with this company, ours was horrific.

I called these folks a few weeks ago for an estimate , they scheduled an appointment with me for today at 12:30. I have waited and got no other estimates as I like working with small local business. The young lady just called and told me that the owner informed her that he is booked and can not do the job. Thanks for telling me this 3 hours before the appointment with no other estimates and no one scheduled they have put me in a bind. I will never use this company. !!! If I could post this without giving any stars it would be -0 for customer service/ inconsideration.

I contracted DeVuono Painting to take care of the entire first floor and ceiling of my home. Not only was his estimate done with the most care and professionalism, but it was one of the most fair prices I received. His employees showed up on time on the day of painting, and they were very professional yet personable. They did the entire job in a day, and it looked fantastic. Had a couple spots that I noticed needed to be touched up after the paint dried (it just happens, not a mistake), and they came back early the very next morning even though I contacted him late at night. When they came back there was no awkwardness, and they were very interested in making sure I was 100% satisfied. If you're on the fence about choosing a company, do not hesitate, choose DeVuono.

I hired DeVuono to paint the exterior of my house during the summer of 2017. I chose DeVuono because of their commitment to complete the job in 2 weeks (weather pending), and their promise of great communication and detailed work. The first day, a crew comes to my house and power washes it, which breaks off much of the old chipped paint and was to be expected. At the end of the day, the crew leader tells me that he doesn’t know when he’ll be back at my house. This was the first red flag. The crew left chipped paint all over the yard and didn’t return for 6 weeks. During those six weeks, I tried contacting the crew leader, Nick, and the office, and often was bounced around, given excuses and never once was apologized to (understandably, weather effected some of those days, but not all). Six weeks after the initial day of power washing, a crew finally showed up to continue. They said they would be working on my house every day possible until it was finished, which was true. However, by the end of the job, the crew had destroyed all the flower beds and ferns around the house, left paint sprayed on the walkway and stairs, left trash around the house, and cigarette butts in the yard. Ultimately, the painting of the house was mediocre at best. There were several uneven sections (which they may have fixed during the final walkthrough, but at that point we wanted them gone) and half of the outdoor lights on the house that they removed during painting no longer worked (they either broke them or rewired them incorrectly.) Throughout this whole process, the most frustrating part was Nick’s inability to apologize for any of these delays and issues. I recommend searching elsewhere for any painting projects – it’s unfortunate that this local business was such a disappointment and won’t be using them again – and the kicker of all this, we are now spending more money on fixing all the mistakes and lights than the amount of the discount Nick originally gave for booking with them within the week the quote was given to us.

Went out of his way to help, very professional in appearance and attitude. Had all his ducks in a row from our very first meeting including all needed documents, certifications and insurance.

Never responded with the quote they said they’d email after they came to the house. It’s been three weeks.

DeVuono Painting was professional, friendly and flexible with my schedule and my family's needs. Nick consulted with me about what I wanted to achieve with the space, and gave me some great ideas on color schemes, accent walls, and faux finishes. We ended up with a result that is so much better than we anticipated! The project was done quickly, and maintained a clean and safe place for my family throughout. Thanks for making this experience so great!
