When hiring Justen with Making All Things New, I got several bids to tighten the screws, sand rough areas, and to seal the wood on my very large deck. His bid was reasonable, and everything went well at first. Justen did not sand any areas that needs it, nor did he tighten screws down except maybe very few areas where he put a new screw down. There were still several loosened screws and a few nails that weren't tightened/fixed. He came and placed the stain/sealer down in just 2-3 days so he was fast. Unfortunately the stain was all over the white siding under the high end of the deck but he was able to clean it all off. He finished the deck, but I asked him to return as there were several areas that had no stain on the wood. He returned for a few things, but then I found he didn't stain any of the ends of the boards all the way around, and he missed the whole side of the stairs in front. I left voice messages for him twice, and FB messaged him over 6 times. He responded with the day of the week he would come, but he never showed. I have tried contacting him again, but now do not get a response to finish the areas that were incomplete. So I am left with a deck that has several areas that are unstained/unsealed. He did help by power washing my house, but he did not return to finish the deck. He did do a nice job on the stain with what he did.

Justen was hired to do some interior painting in my house, and left runs and streaks throughout walls. He left rollers, brushes out after usage and did not clean them out and would leave paint lids off overnight. He rolled cabinets that he was hired to paint, and left them ruined with debris on the roller, streaks, runs, etc... and painted shiplap that he was asked not to paint. Before hiring this contractor please review BBB, plus his insurance doesn't cover poor workmanship... my husband has tried to call him several times to discuss his poor workmanship and he will not answer nor return his phone calls.
