Had an estimate scheduled this morning, I had to work but my boyfriend was here and Ryan the owner was out here for only 5 minutes. My boyfriend got the impression that he did not want to be here. No friendly conversation or anything he just wanted to leave as soon as possible. If you're going to treat potential customers like that we'll take our business somewhere else. And I thought this was a good company with all the great reviews but I was sadly mistaken. Quoted us an outrageous amount. I live in the house I grew up in, my parents have passed away and yes they didn't do proper upkeep on the exterior because they had a lot more serious problems to deal with in the past and they struggled financially for many and many years mostly because of my past medical history. The way my boyfriend described to me that Ryan was appalled by our house and that's not professional whatsoever.

Neighborhood Painting painted the exterior of our house a few years ago, and they did a very thorough job. They identified numerous areas of wood rot and replaced them so we didn't have problems with it later. Some companies would have just painted over wood rot just to get the job done. It still looks great. We used them again for a tedious interior job sanding and painting wood paneling, built-ins, box beams and banister. The paint job is precise and professional. We will use them again if we ever need a professional painter.

I had six estimates done and Neighborhood Painting was not the cheapest but he did revise the estimate to ensure I would get a quality paint job and save some money. I had termite damage and he found me a great pest company and worked with them to get the termite problem taken care while his guys were doing their work. Once the job was started, he even found some areas we could save money, so the job actually cost me less than he estimated. His crew was professional and polite. The cleaned up when they were done each night. Overall, very honest company and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality paint/siding job. A few months ago, I contacted Neighborhood Painting to have our house exterior painted. Ryan was prompt with assessing the house, presenting his game plan, and providing an estimate. Once we gave the ok, prep work/caulking/wood-rot repair started promptly and looked professional afterward. The crews from Neighborhood Painting were courteous and did a great job. From the color consultation all the way to the final touches, communication throughout the project was great and we felt like we were kept in the loop every step of the way. There were some additional repairs brought to our attention before painting began which was unexpected, but appreciated. With a project of this magnitude, additional costs aren’t ideal, but it’s also good to know that no shortcuts were taken. The crew was even able to step up and fit us into the schedule for an additional project when another contractor didn’t show. Definitely glad we chose Neighborhood Painting for our home.

Ryan and his team of experts repaired and painted my house these last two weeks (10/16/19). The team did a remarkable job -- everything is perfect! There was a lot of wood rot (old house!) and the team of carpenters made it look new. They were careful, artful, and gentlemanly. They took the time to thoroughly inspect and recommended several additional items that needed to be done that were not obvious until some of the "bad stuff" was removed. They even recommended an artful treatment over the window and garage that added a lot of charm. The team of painters were equally skilled and gracious. They painted perfectly (no kidding!) and carefully taped and protected everything. They helped me install new hardware on the front and back door that I was planning to do myself (more complex than I thought!). We used Neighborhood Painting to refinish our deck as it was faded out. Once we decided to use this group and let them know this, they were out within 2 weeks. They came on a Friday and power washed the deck. They came out on the next Sunday and did the work. There were a couple areas on the house that needed touched up after they did the work. We did not have left over paint for this so they went and got some paint to match the house so this could be touched up. The deck looks great and they did a good job of cleanup. We were very pleased with the work and the speed in which it was accomplished. We would definitely recommend them for any painting needs you have.

I had some fairly significant wood rot and siding issues and my home needed to be repainted. I obtained several bids, and while Neighborhood Painting, Inc. was not the cheapest, I was most comfortable with it. It was clear from the outset that Ryan and his team know what they are doing, care about details and approach their projects with professionalism. There were two separate crews used, one for the repairs and one for the painting. All of the individuals are employees of Neighborhood Painting, Inc., rather than separate subcontractors, which I think distinguishes this company from others. Both crews were exceptionally clean, friendly, and timely, and they performed the work exactly as promised. They arrived promptly at 7:00 AM in each of the 7 days during the project. I highly recommend and will use them again in the future.

Frankly amazed that the reviews for Neighborhood are so favorable. We chose the painter based Angie’s list feedback, expecting that the higher (than all other) estimated price would be paralleled with a contentious job/level of service. Currently reached a strong point of contention with this company over an electrical issue incurred during their time working on our home. This main complaint being the culmination of a number of mounting issues. A selling point for Neighborhood Painting was the promised communication through the project. Noticeable absence of Ryan’s involvement was frustrating, especially as problems continued to present themselves. Ryan was never on site and was rarely heard from aside from a few brief reply emails. I requested that windows would be washed, but was told I did so too late in the project. Ryan sent the message down that it wasn’t cost effective to complete the cleaning, however I was still invoiced for that work. The charge was removed when Ryan was reminded that that portion of the work wasn’t complete. Other complaints include window screens shredded by power washing, wiring left exposed on the side of the house, trash left in the guttering, paint spots on both the roof and newly-stained deck, grass-killing paint spill, plus a paint spill left in my new rock garden. Very disappointed.

I highly recommend Neighborhood Painting. I have a 70-year-old brick and stucco home. I had some wood rot, and the stucco had quite of few hairline cracks that needed attention before they got any worse. There were two separate crews that worked on my house. The first prep crew came in and hand-scraped the old paint and sealed everything up before power-washing the entire house. The crew of 2-3 men spent four days on prep work alone. Then a separate paint crew came in and spent three days to get all the painting done. Ryan, the owner, was very attentive to any issues that came up, and he didn't ask me to pay anything until the job was done to my satisfaction. Five stars all the way!

I got several estimates on painting the exterior of our house and decided to go with Neighborhood Painting. Prior to providing the estimate Ryan Toekles and I did a walk around the house and discussed what needed to be done in regards to prep work and paint. The estimate provided fully captured all details of that conversation. Of the three estimates the one from Neighborhood Painting was on the high side but not by much. During the project several people commented on the quality of the prep work. It took several days to paint the house. The paint crew showed up early put in a full day and cleaned up at the end of each day. We have a fair amount of landscaping and the impact to it during the painting was minimal. I liked everyone I dealt with at Neighborhood Painting and the final job was everything I expected. I would highly recommend these people.

We had some fairly extensive wood-rot repair that needed to happen, and got quotes from 4 different companies for our project. Only one of those quotes included re-siding one side of our house, and that was Neighborhood. The other 3 companies just wanted to repair that side. After seeing what the studs looked like underneath our old siding, I am so thankful we listened to Ryan and re-sided. They were soft and rotting and had we just repaired the surface problems we would've been doing more repairs in just a few years. Neighborhood was not our lowest quote--this was not a cheap project--but we wanted it done right and after several conversations with Ryan we really felt like he was the most knowledgeable and reliable and we decided it was worth the money to choose Neighborhood. I am even more confident in our choice now that the work is completed. Ryan is the only one that detected how bad that side was, and I'm grateful we spent the extra money to do the job right. From start to finish, the project ran smoothly. Both the prep and painting crew were friendly and always willing to answer questions. What I was most impressed by was their punctuality. They arrived at 7 am every day, and they worked hard the whole time they were there (despite them being some of the hottest weeks of the year). They even went out of their way to do a few little extra things (like moving a tree branch that had fallen in our yard). They do a fantastic job cleaning up after themselves every night, I was thoroughly impressed by their work ethic and how professional both crews were. I also really appreciated that Ryan was easy to reach and prompt to respond to questions. Anything I asked him about, I had an answer within a few hours. In general this is just a well-run, reliable, professional company, and I honestly have nothing but good things to say about anyone I had contact with. While they may not be your lowest bid, I assure you it is worth the extra money to work with a company that will take good care of you, and to know your house is in good hands. We are so happy with the finished project and are confident the house will look wonderful for many many years!

We've used Neighborhood Painting for two jobs now -- the first time to paint our house and do some repair work on the siding and the second time to stain and fix the deck and do some additional siding work due to hail damage. We've been very happy with the work and professionalism exhibited by the entire team. The quotes were very detailed and the end result has always looked great. When repairing the deck, we had requested minimal repair work as we did not budget for more extensive repairs, and they went ahead and used some of the old but still useable wood on areas that needed the work, at no extra cost. (They asked before doing this.)

Neighborhood Painting performed some siding repairs and new construction painting for us. Ryan was always prompt in returning phone calls or responding to emails. They showed up on time and only delayed work when there was a threat of rain (which indicated they wanted it done right). Excellent company. The work was done in two stages. First the prep/wood rot crew worked for 2 days to get the house ready for paint. I had some extensive wood rot, especially around our garden room and on our front porch columns. The crew repaired all that and caulked and prepped the rest of the house. The paint crew came 2 weeks later (delayed by rain) and painted the house and shutters in 2 days. Both crews were very meticulous and clean up was excellent. One word. AMAZING! If you want the best look no further than Neighborhood Painting. You definitely get what you pay for. They may not have been the cheapest but they were the best. The other guys quoted a day of prep work and a day of painting, an in and out job. The owner, Ryan Toelkes, told me that it would take a couple days of prep, they would then inspect that, then proceed to painting. All in all they did 3 days of prep and 3 days of paint. I don't think that tells the story though. They spent 12 hours a day working on the house, thats 36 hours of prep and 36 hours of paint, that almost 2 weeks worth of work. They also were great about cleanup, kind, courteous, everything you could ask for. I would not hesitate to use them again. So, you can go with the other guys for a bit cheaper and get 2 days worth of work, or go with the best and get 2 weeks worth of work? Your call. I made mine and could not be happier about it. I am extremely pleased with the work we had done by Neighborhood Painting. We had our whole house painted outside. The prep crew arrived and the team lead had us walk around the entire house to verify the work to be done. The crew put in a full three days prepping the house which involved a lot of caulking and wood rot repair and replacing some siding panels. I cannot tell you how impressed we were with the crew's work ethic and professionalism. Same with the paint crew. They worked two long days and did a great job. Again so impressed with the care they took to protect our screens and our patio to be sure there was no over-splatter on these surfaces. We had one small issue after they finished that I felt needed a little more work. The first crew repaired the wood rot and sealed the seams. The walls were then power washed, and then the second crew painted. All the crew members were punctual, professional, and very courteous. My house is 100 years old with a lot of detail in the wood trim, and there was some wood rot and stucco cracking to be repaired. The process of bidding was straightforward, the prep work was very thorough, and the painting was done very, very well. I added some restoration of an architectural feature, and that was done expertly as well. When communication was needed, it was fast and handled all the situations that arose. I recommend this company very highly for the quality of the work and for responsiveness during the job. The work is very much worth the price; it was not the lowest bid.
