We had wood paneling in our family room painted. The two men did an excellent job and we are very pleased with the result. They were always on time, very careful to cover our furnishings, polite, and pleasant to have around. They were very meticulous about small details which really made a great impression with us. The estimator gave me a very fair price and the crew that came out to do the work was always on time and cleaned up after themselves. They even made sure to do the little things like putting my bedroom curtains back up each day so we didn't have to do it every night before bed. I will definitely be using them again in the future.

Each person I interacted with was very professional and interested in making sure they were doing exactly what I needed done. I never felt like any change or request was an imposition. Nate, the estimator, understood that I wanted to neutralize the colors that were on the walls and freshen up any damaged walls with the least expense possible since it was being painted to have it on the market - the next owners would likely want to repaint at some point. He suggested ways to get the cost down quite a bit from the initial (and from the alternate bid we got), which would still accomplish the goals of a fresh look. Ric, the team leader, came out ahead of time to be sure he knew what needed to be done. I had some changes to what I wanted from the initial estimate, and he was great about making sure those were reflected in a change order so I had a new estimate. They were willing to start a day early, but the house was not ready, so they were gracious about starting on the agreed-to date. The crew was courteous and each introduced themselves to me as they appeared. When Ric had to be off the job he made sure that I knew Ryan was in charge if I needed anything. They covered everything not being painted, and removed the covering before leaving for the night so I could use my kitchen and space. When someone missed a plaster "mess" that was not cleaned up before leaving for the day, Ric found it the next morning and called it out as "unacceptable" and apologized. They did a better job of being right on the edges than the previous painters had done, as they had to go and overpaint some edges where the previous color had gone too far. They had to fix a corner where paint was bubbling due to moisture, and I would never have known it was patched if I wasn't looking for it. After they left I found a spot that was missed over a cabinet door, and they came right over to fix it (and checked the other cabinets just in case, finding one other spot). Quality job, quality company.

Kennedy Painting appears to be well managed and well run but execution is truly lacking. The initial consultation was professional and well done and price seemed generally competitive. The painters were generally respectful as well. After they were done the walls were covered in bare spots which seemed like they did one coat and a very sparse one at that. I would continually point out touch ups and they would often somehow miss the spots I pointed out. After several times coming out. I finally spoke with a manager who seemed great and came out and said they would repaint whole areas etc. They came out and made some improvement but after they “repainted” areas I would find the same bare spots on the walls, I basically had to babysit them through painting the walls every step of the way. Still after that I find more areas that need to be touched up so I just do it myself as I don’t want to bother with them as they probably won’t be able to get it right. Also they can’t paint a straight line, I have little bits of paint on the edges of all my ceilings and window sills etc. They didn’t seem to use painters tape but they sure needed too. Overall I spent $7000 to paint our home and was extremely disappointed. If I had the time I would have done a much better job myself. If they are professional painters they should get it done right the first time with out you having to babysit them. In reality I want my money back and would never hire them again as it would just be stressful and pain in the neck to deal with. Update: they did do a very good job of following up. They sent out a different team to try to fix any issues. Colten the main guy they sent out did a good job and he seemed to really care about the work and make sure a good job was done. He also seemed well mannered and respectful. These things seemed like a 180 from the first crew. Now give them 3 stars instead of 1.

Everything was just fine, but I was especially impressed how quick they came to bid and kept in contact with me even though they were busy. I tried to reach 2 other companies, one showed up, but wouldn't show up to do the job, and the other didn't call back after 3 calls. These guys showed up immediately. Then when time to do the job, they kept in contact all the way through. A very respectable company.

EDIT: Updating my previous rating as a result of Kennedy Painting reaching out. The owner at Kennedy Painting called to talk everything out. I appreciate their professionalism and promptness with responding to feedback. He noted that they are ready to resolve any quality-related issues caused by the previous painter. This review is LONG, so in case TL;DR--they breached contract twice and I experienced a very unprofessional painter I would have talked to the painter himself about all this, but he left the house without saying a single word to me. I also tried to call Kennedy Painting to give them feedback but no one picked up. So, this review will have to do. Unprofessional painter: I work in real estate and house renovations and I have never encountered a rude painter before. But I guess there's a first for everything. There was an issue with paying an extra $200 because the cabinet painter needed to roll extra paint on the cabinets to cover the streaks of wood coming through the white paint. The supervisor and I were able to amicably work things out and were very understanding of each other. The painter who worked on the walls did not think so. He interrupted our conversation by saying that verbal agreement means something and that I should have paid the extra $200 due to the work already being finished. The order of conducting business is always--estimation, work order, execution of job. Kennedy Painting did the job first, asked for the money, then offered to write a work order. If I didn't sign off on anything, that means I did not agree to the job. I appreciate that they did the extra layers of paint. But I didn't agree to it nor did I know when it was being done. This is why there's a WRITTEN form of agreement. After we had the disagreement, the painter stomped around upstairs and talked loudly on the phone. My husband said that the painter tried to get the $200 from him when I left for work. When I got home, my husband said the painter suddenly changed his attitude, and he left without saying anything to me. (Hopefully never to be seen again by me.) Breach of contract (twice): 1) I came home to see that my couch is dusty. My piano is dusty. My tables are dusty. My kitchenware is dusty. It clearly states in the contract that the furniture and items in the house would be covered with plastic. I talked to the supervisor about it, to which he said he'll tell the painter to do so when he gets back. When the painter came back, my husband had to ask him to cover the furniture. The painter was already sanding the walls without covering anything up. 2) The contract also states that the furniture would be put back to place (excluding electronics). The furniture was not only dusty but still in a heap in the middle of each room by the time he left. In conclusion, their painting was fine. But with $6,000, I could have found a painter that was not holding a personal vendetta against me, because I did not wish to pay an extra $200 for something I didn't sign off on.

If you use these guys I would carefully watch them. As others have pointed out in reviews. Kevin and And Garrett Are the ones to watch specifically. If you get colten B. then think the Lord, he is a small dude with gigantic painting skills (deserves a better home) . Main thing though is when the two mess up and call supervisor listen to what they talk about after they walk you around , send you back inside, and think you are away. Best advice I can give. The reason they get an extra star is because of colten. If you do use them ask for only him. He will stay and actually work with his crew and make things nice. Watch the van sitters. I guess the their company vans don't have locks and someone has to stay and watch it. and doing great, thanks. Still taking advantage of the little guy I see. I'm the guy that stands up for the little guy and that's why this post was made. Good luck.

Kennedy Painting was pleasure to work with. The gentleman who came to fix a patch in our wall explained the work while he's doing it. He was very informative and left us with no surprises. I arranged to have an estimator come to my house to give me an estimate for painting the exterior of our home. He was very nice and very thorough in his assessment of the job. He promised a bid in a week. After 3 weeks I hadn't gotten a bid so I e-mailed him. No response. A week later, I called and left a phone message. No response. So I guess they decided they didn't want to bid on the job. At least they could have given me the courtesy of telling me that rather than making me wait and contact them several times. Will never use them for any other work we need.

Very good first experience with the Kennedy crew. Invited them to bid painting our corporate offices, a job requiring a lift, and ladders, and reaching over workstations, lots of wood trim to work around, and etc. Professional and thorough consultation. Follow up meeting on site with the managers and such to review the job before hand and meet & greet. The crew seemed to really enjoy their work, and working together. They showed up on time and got right to work. The one time they were a little late due to weather they called in advance. Quality of work is great and the price was very competitive as well. Kennedy Painting sent Justin & Charlie who removed the rotted wood & replace with PVC that was painted. These guys were so friendly & did such a wonderful job.
