I was extremely pleased with my experience with Mark Calhoun. He was very professional in all my dealings. He painted my daughter's house and I saw what a good job he did and asked for an estimate for my house. He set up an appointment to give me an estimate and called the day before to reconfirm. He let me know there were several jobs before mine and approximately when he would be able to paint my house. He was always on time and never kept me waiting. Communication with Mark was excellent. The painters did an outstanding job. They were friendly and it was easy to work with them. My house looks like new. I highly recommend Calhoun Painting.

I had several companies give me an estimate on painting the exterior of our home. Mark came to the estimate with copies of his credentials to give to me and gave me a detailed, written estimate within about 20 minutes. The pricing was great, the reviews were great and the fact that he provided me with credentials and a written estimate while he was there for the estimate sealed the deal. He was the only company to do that. Due to the weather (rain and cold temps), we had to wait to start the project until the following week which was fine with us! The crew did the entire project within 3 days and I am extremely happy with the end result. It looks like a new home! Not only was the quality of work top notch, but the crew was as well. Mark is extremely helpful and communicative and his guys are very personable and take pride in their work. I would definately use this company again and I would highly recommend!!

Mark responded to my Thumbtack search for a painter for the exterior of my house. We met and discussed several things: some changes that I wanted to make to the exterior of the house, repairing/replacing rotten wood, colors, and a cost estimate (of course). Mark Calhoun provided recommended use of associate and colleague, David Conrad (Conrad Carpentry), for high-quality carpentry repairs and pre-painting prep work. The Calhoun Painting Company completed work on my home today. The workmanship was excellent. The attention to detail was phenomenal. They were here early every day and completed the job in exactly the time frame they gave us. I plan to use them when we have the inside of my home painted. We are very happy. EDITED TO ADD NEW REVIEW: As I stated last year above, we again used Calhoun Painting for the interior of our home. They completed the painting on 8/21/2018. We are delighted with the outcome. Mark was so helpful with assisting in selecting the colors and every one was spot on. The painters were a joy to work with. On time, neat and professional. While Eric, the team leader, was painting the baseboard near our fireplace he detected the odor of gas (neither my husband nor I could smell it). Called Memphis LG&W and the emergency tech verified the leak. Plumber repaired it that afternoon. So, our appreciation is not only for great painting but also for averting a possible disaster!! Thanks again Eric!

Definitely 5 stars. In 4 days painted all inside walls and trim; some doors and some ceilings. Painters were professional and methodical. Communication was good. Mark Calhoun did a walkthrough at the end of the job and he was particular. They stayed on schedule.

I have used Calhoun painting on 2 different projects at 2 different houses. Both times i was very satisfied with the workmanship, communication, and professionalism. The latest work he completed for me was painting the entire exterior of my home and detached garage. When he met with me he handed me a copy of his insurance and references. He spent time with me to help pick out colors, explained the entire process in detail from cleaning the house, repairs and painting. He handed me a written quote for the job. We had just put a new roof on the house so i was adamant that no paint got on the roof and none did. I received a call every day to update me on the status of the work and estimated completion time. Both Mark and his entire crew were always very professional. If you are looking for a painting contractor I would highly recommend Calhoun painting.

I do not appreciate the way you handled me no matter who was wrong. Anything could have happened as to why I was late then you hung up in my face while I was thanking you. MR CALHOUN your attitude towards me when I called you was very negative. You did not even call me when you made it to the office where you said you left my number. The first time Mark at Calhoun Painting Company came over to give us a quote we had a great impression and knew we were dealing with a professional. He explained our options and described in detail what they would do. He even helped us pick out colors. He left us with the impression that we were dealing with a company that really cared about excellence and doing a great job. From the first visit they really set themselves apart from the uncertainty that, in our experience, seems to be the standard in the building/construction industry. The morning they showed up to start the job (on time and ready to work), they again explained what they were going to do and which of the guys were going to do it. They explained which of them I could bring any concerns or questions to, and gave what turned out to be a perfect estimate of how long the job would take (three days). Throughout those three days they showed up on time, worked hard and graciously answered any questions I had along the way. Another thing that really stood out is that the guys worked great together as a team and clearly took a lot of pride in their job; they wanted the result to be excellent. And the result is excellent! Our home looks great. When you come around the corner and see our home up on the hill it is striking how good it looks. We called Mark on Monday morning, he came out for an estimate that afternoon and finished the job a day ahead of schedule. He helped pick out colors for walls and trim, while providing a great professional crew that gave us the results we wanted. The crew did a quick job and thoroughly cleaned after completion. At the end of the project, Mark and the crew inspected the painted area with us, correcting spots we didn't detect, but didn't meet their standards. They even painted an area of trim that was not a part of the project, just to make their customer happy.
