They were out to stain our deck and trim several days before we anticipated they would even start, and they finished everything well ahead of schedule. I planned to only have my two-story stair area painted, but when I spoke about future plans with Jim, we were able to come up with an affordable plan that met many of my goals immediately! The owners of this company have no hands on painting experience. They buy a franchise and hire subcontractors. They do not honor their quotes plus you pay more than hiring a local painter. This local owner does not tell potential clients that he doesn't do the painting and that he really has no painting experience which would be very important for the consumer to know. They give quotes but then do not honor them. Hire a local painter, not this national firm.

I am only giving 4-stars because my one wall was felt to be too small of a project for this company to paint, who usually works for at least $1500 or so. It is very disappointing that this company could not accommodate my one wall, but on the other hand, the owner did go the extra mile to find another painting company for me, namely Mr. Handyman. For this I am grateful. So, I have not seen their work on my wall, but the owner was very helpful.

We had 5 star come out a few times for different projects. The first time we thought they did a decent job. It wasn't until the 2nd time we realized that the 1st job was not nearly as good as when Bruce came out for the 2nd time. Bruce was amazing and is merely a contractor for 5 star. We also paid to have 2 coats of paint applied to our trim, the painters advised that we should remove the quarter round, as we were planning on installing new floors, and it would be easier for them to paint, so they only applied one coat. They advised once the flooring was complete and the trim was back up, they would come back and apply the 2nd coat. When we reached out to Jim, he said he would have to quote the work and that it wasn't originally part of the scope. Not true. He also would not allow us to use a coupon on the job because he had already quoted it, and even though we hadn't paid yet. Avoid this guy. You will be over-charged for paint work that is not that great. His only good painter is not working with him any longer. Do yourself a service and hire Bruce direct.
