We had some serious wood rot and the painting was *long* overdue. The previous painters (maybe 15 years ago?) hadn't done a very good job scraping before painting so in a lot of places, the paint looked like alligator skin. The wood rot was so bad we were getting water in our basement.
We had several estimates and while the Schwarzenberger estimate was very competitive, the sell was Luke himself. We've had so much work done on our 1930's house and Luke (the owner) was such a breath of fresh air. He assured me he would be on-site for the entire job and explained the crew was comprised of all full-time employees. Overall, he was just plain personable.
The day the crew came to start work, I was absolutely floored by how wonderful the entire crew is. Luke is the oldest of four brothers, all of whom are on his crew. The rest of his guys are clearly very good friends of the Schwarzenbergers. The whole lot of them has wonderful chemistry and work very well together.
They were approachable, warm, and very friendly.
My house looks amazing. Really. This old girl was ragged. And she SHINES now. TWO neighbors have asked for his number, my next door neighbor noticed how exceptional the crew is. But what really sets this company apart is the people. The crew.
You don't want to wrap up your kids and get them AWAY from the creepy contractors and you aren't afraid to leave your house empty around them. They were kind to my dog, they seamed truly charmed by my (really, really curious) four little kids.
The were all around outstanding and I'd INSIST any friend or family used them.
