Update:
It's been a year since our service, and unfortunately I can no longer recommend this painting company.
3 months after this job was completed, we found that we still had wood rot problems; the crew from JR had replaced the trim pieces, but didn't replace the wood rot underneath those pieces. About 6 months after, we noticed that a board they replaced were falling off and the seams between boards had reopened (see attached photo).
Original post:
JR is knowledgeable, timely, and easy to work with.
I filled out the web form for an estimate on wood rot repair late one evening, and JR came out the next day for the estimate. It was immediately evident that he was very knowledgeable and passionate about his work. We spent about 30-45 minutes walking around the house as I showed him the sections needing replaced. He explained various factors that can contribute to wood rot, and how his crew addresses them. For instance, they work to ensure the fewest number of board seams in the sections they work on so that there are less openings for water to get in. He also assured us that they would find materials that match the look and finish of the rest of the house, something our budget painter didn't do. Finally, he explained how we could protect our fascia from rotting out by replacing the flaking paint, starting with a good oil based primer.
I promptly received the formal estimate the next morning, which was easy to understand and clearly laid out. Signing to accept the offer was a no-brainer!
