Henry's Painting came recommended to me through the Neighborhoods website and they were very flexible with a scheduling problem I had after the estimate since I needed to have some rotten boards close to a window replaced before painting (around $3500 for a 1200 sf wood frame house, white paint, fairly uncomplicated). Seemed professional enough and courteous. Not the lowest estimate but I had a good feeling the job would be done well. The painting looked great, the masking was good with no overspray on plants or the yard. But painting without detailed prep is not great painting. And this was not good detail-oriented prep. When I found obvious places that were missed leads to seeing even more places that were missed. I had them come back once to address these issues which were still not addressed to my satisfaction. Henry was a no-show at his offer to walk around to discuss the problems Not a horrible job, but far from a five star rating. I'm doing to rescraping, priming and repaint myself. I'm left to wonder if spray work since it's so much faster just makes things easier to overlook.

Overall unpleasant experience and subpar work. I Do Not Recommend! Pros: 1) Henry was always reachable on his phone. He always picked up even when he knew I was unhappy. 2) The end product was marginally acceptable. 3) He personally came out to the house on Saturday to inspect the work and address my complaints. 4) He came in at the lowest cost while having the best reviews. At the time this seemed good. Cons: 1) His crew never once showed up on time. They were 5 hours late the first day and around 2 hours late the other 3 days. 2) He did not get the job done on time. 3) The house was left an extreme mess. There were dirty rags on the ground, toilet paper on the bathroom floor and paint drips all over the house when his crew initially “completed” the job. 4) His crew did not know the scope of work, which caused them to work in areas that were not in the contract. Henry wanted to charge me over $300 for the extra work. 5) Henry blamed me for the delays in painting even though he was aware that flooring contractors would be present. He stated that he had a plan put together with the flooring contractor. After the work started, I received a complaint from the flooring contractor that he did not adhere to the plan and that his crew were very disruptive to the other work going on. The two crews were not able to work together as promised which caused me time and frustration to step in and arbitrate. 6) The painters broke my blinds, and I was blamed for not taking the blinds down even though we received no instructions to take them down. However, Henry did personally fix it afterwards. 7) Henry did not come to my house until Saturday to see firsthand what was happening. I made it clear on Wednesday night that I was unhappy and again each of the next two days. It would have been nice for him to personally visit and observe the situation as soon as he was aware of the complaints.
