We had never hired a company to paint our house before... we had always done it ourselves to "save money". The painters from Certapro Indy made it worth it to hire someone!!! Chuy and Jose did a fantastic job on the outside of our house. It looks great, but most importantly to us, it took care of the wear and tear on the house. They repaired/replaced the wood that needed it, caulked and painted the trim. Our front door and garage door were VERY faded from the weather and sun, and we are thrilled and relieved with how those both turned out - which is saying a lot, because we're picky! Makes the house feel new. The guys were kind and professional, paid attention to details. They were ON TIME which is important to us, because it's irritating when contractors are late, esp with no communication. They communicated well with us. They got it done quickly but made sure it was enough time to get it done right! They even told us (and used) what paint was best for the current weather and temps. The paint crew did a great job. They were on time and completed the job as promised. The only issue I encountered was the kind of detail I had to pay attention to. The paint crew will not bend rules of the contract even 1 inch. So you got to be very detail oriented when you are signing the contract. For example, if there is a twig of a tree stuck inside the gutter and visible from the outside, the crew will charge $45 per hour to take it out even though they reach the gutter to paint it outside. Since the twig is inside, they refuse to take it out, even though it is a just a one minute job. It is a frustrating experience. Of course after a couple of phone calls, the Manager has authorized to clear the gutter without charge.

CertaPro was extremely professional the entire process. They were out in a timely manner to look at the jobs for my home, and they completed each project in a single day. We had exterior painting done; our house is almost 100 years old and we thought it would be difficult to match the paint on our old Tudor. They matched it nearly perfectly, and it looks wonderful! Because we live in a historic district, we can't replace some of our windows, but one desperately needed repair. The window wouldn't close all the way, and the team went above and beyond to seal and caulk it, then painting over so it looks like it was never damaged. We had our sunroom painted as well, and it looks completely transformed. We also had our home and back patio power washed with a cleaner (before and after photos attached). We had just moved in, and the back patio looks like it is brand new. Day-of crew was as professional as the office team. I would definitely use them again.

Colton was so friendly, extremely hopeful, and always quick to respond. The painting crew had the same presence as Colton did over the phone. They were all gentleman and my walls look amazing! The baseboards needed a third coat and due to the extra painted being use it naturally would cost more to do so. They very kindly asked if I would like the third coat. My wife asked them to clip some old outdoor speaker wires and they did it quickly. There were also some branches on the roof that the crew removed without being asked. Our house had bright colors in the living room, dining room, kitchen, family room, upstairs landing, and all the connecting halls, all of which I wanted repainted in a neutral color plus one accent wall. We asked to have some water damage on the ceilings repaired and then painted, too. The contract included a price for painting the walls and ceilings ($2226); an estimated total for wall repair, ceiling repair, and 3rd coat of paint ($45 per man per hour, estimated total of $674); other services we decided against (baseboards and door frames); a free paint upgrade; and an Angie's List discount ($359). He said the work would take 3 or 4 days total and asked if there was a room we'd like completed first (yes, the kitchen). The painting crew came on the scheduled day and time. There were 3 or 4 guys, including the foreman, I don't remember his name. I was here when they arrived to discuss the job and then I left for the day. The 1st day I arrived home around 4 PM to find so much more done than I expected; the crew had already finished for the day. The 2nd day I talked to the foreman in the morning about little things here and there I wanted them to fix and he was very receptive. I asked him to patch a hole in a room that wasn't being painted and gave the go ahead for a third coat on the accent wall; I assumed I would be charged the per-hour rate for those things like the contract specified. The foreman told me the job was complete around 2 PM on the 2nd day and we took a walk around to check out the work. I gave the OK but the paint hadn't dried yet. I was very surprised that the work took half the time expected. At the conclusion of the work, I expected to pay the discounted amount for the painting ($1866.60) plus a per-hour rate the extra services. The foreman told me I owed $2610.08. As best as I could tell from talking to him, there had been no tracking of the time for patching and extra painting. He told me the office told him that was what I owed on the contract. I paid it, thinking it must be what the estimate was, but later realized the estimate was for $2540.60. I noticed some issues over the following few weeks and called CertaPro about them. An area that was patched while the rest of the walls were being painted and therefore painted later, separately, was obviously a different finish than the rest of the wall. Several spots on the ceilings in multiple areas were missed. And roller marks were obvious on the accent wall. CertaPro sent a representative out pretty quickly, who checked out my complaints and scheduled follow-up work with another crew. The two-man crew that came out to fix the issues was very good. They went beyond quick fixes to do a thorough job, even noticing other gaps that I missed and fixing those. I would've liked Marcos to have been the foreman for the original work. In addition to some inconsistencies in the paint job, the original crew left paint in places where it shouldn't be: brush strokes on the range hood and droplets on the counter tops & front patio. They damaged the connector for our sectional sofa when they moved it, which means the two pieces no longer lock together. I didn't bother telling CertaPro about these because I didn't think it would matter, although I did factor them in when I gave the ratings here. Overall I have mixed feelings about CertaPro. I chose them instead of an individual provider because I thought I'd have a more professional experience and, in some ways, I did. The crew(s) arrived when expected and worked quickly. The company was clear and copious in its communication. They stood behind the work and addressed any concerns immediately. The paint upgrade and Angie's List discount were nice perks. But I wanted it to be done well the first time, and I would've liked an invoice or something to explain why I paid what I did. The work wasn't cheap and I don't think I should have to follow up to have it done right. I'm not sure I would choose them next time I need painting done.

Certa Pro Indy did a large interior paint job for me as well as painting my cabinets, converting them from stained wood to white. I live in Columbus, Indiana and was excited that they now serve my area because we lack professional painters. All the work was outstanding, the crews were very professional and worked quickly and the price was very reasonable. Extremely helpful to me was the free color consult by a Sherwin Williams color consultant included in the Certa jobs. She picked colors for me that I never would have picked but they are amazing complements to my trim, carpet and furnitures. I have more work to do this spring and I'll be hiring Certa Pro again.

I would like to give Certa Pro an outstanding review for repainting my garage. It's crisp paintjob look like a brand new building instead of one that looks like it hadn't been painted since the 50's. I was reminded of this when I went out this morning and realized I hadn't shown my appreciation. The diligence of the crew you sent out was very thorough for scraping the peeling paint as well as clean up. I couldn't be more pleased. The salesmen represented the house would be scraped and caulked prior to painting. No prep work was done aside from taping off. The finished product shows peeling paint everywhere. My complaints were met with very technical (and unconvincing) explanations as to why the crew would have missed scraping each particular area, never an acknowledgement of the fact that the painters began painting immediately upon arrival and completely failed to prep the house.

The price was right (due in part to a mistake made by their salesperson).We went with them in an attempt to rest at ease about hiring a contractor. But that didn't happen... They spent far more than the time they initially quoted us 4 days vs 1 and the overall craftsmanship was subpar. Hoping they come back and accommodate us financially when they finish their "survey". Update: they never came back and the paint still isn't worth what we paid (even with the mistake). They missed spots, uneven brush strokes, drips and even forgot to paint a window. I would not suggest spending money on a company that can't paint that sells themselves on a company that specializes in painting.

We have given CertaPro multiple opportunities to correct problems. Originally hired to paint trim, ceilings and several walls. According to their quote, all surfaces would be properly prepped, including filling nailing holes, etc. None were filled. Moreover, rather than use trim paint, flat wall paint was used. Finally, a brand new floor was damaged when they failed to properly move a piece of furniture. It took multiple phone calls and emails to get a response. A second trip by another crew to fix the problems was left incomplete. When I again reached out, the response was less than satisfactory. So I am now left with having to do the final painting myself. My last email to CertaPro was 2 days ago and still no response. Very disappointed in the overall quality of the work, but moreso the lackluster follow up.

Not very happy with the painting team that was sent here. The sales people and office people were very professional and easy to work with. The painting team is where the failing is. The 2 stars is mainly for sales/office people. First, the painters did an OK job with the paint, even with the upgraded to Emerald paint. The supervisor was rarely on site and sat out in the van for almost the entire time. The painters did clean up a lot of the paint on outlets, doors, trims, etc.. but there's still places missed. There was a lot of paint on my stairway railing that I had to clean up myself. Can't get it all off so it's there forever now. There's spots on the wall where there's gaps in the paint and the wall color underneath is coming through. The attention to detail was sorely lacking. Second, one of the painters put a dent in my garage wall and did not say a word to me about it. I had to find out myself a day or two after they left. Not happy with that at all. Third, one of the painters started using my personal ladder without even asking if it's OK. This should never happen as they don't know if the ladder is good or compromised. I informed the project manager about this but no response about it, of course. For as expensive as the job was, with still plenty more rooms to be painted in the future, I'll be looking elsewhere.

It’s rare this day in age to find someone that you would be confident calling back, let alone recommending to friends. I’ve had too many bad experiences in the past - Don’t get me started about the guy from “that other place” who racked up a long distance phone bill on my land line and then left something putrid in our guest bathroom.
