The work they did is gorgeous, and I won't have to paint my house for 25 years. It is unbelievable—what a product. It's a ceramic-based paint, and it's unbelievable. It will never peel, and it's guaranteed for 25 years, so if anything happens, I'll call them up, and they'll come fix it. The reason I chose them over a different company is because of that guarantee. The ceramic-based paint is absolutely, absolutely incredible. I wish I could paint my whole house inside with it; then, I'd never have to have it redone.

The people were very knowledgeable—both those on the administrative end and those that were actually doing the work, the application, and the follow-up. One of the things that made me feel comfortable was that when appeared as though there was a discrepancy in the color, they assured us that all the paint was from the same lot, and they said to give it time to see what it looks like at different stages of the year. They didn't even hesitate to assure us that they would hold to that if we felt the same way come spring and summer—they would make good on it even if they had to repaint one of the dormers. They were timely and cautious; on days when we were going to have rain, they made sure that they didn't try to apply any finish if there was a chance that a downpour might ruin the finish. Overall, it was a good experience. I was impressed with a job they did for a friend of ours—that friend is very, very particular, and he spoke very highly of Rhino Shield. I wasn't at all familiar with the process or the fact that the application of the primer and the end finish would still allow the cedar to breathe—that was one of my big concerns, but I've known this friend for a good number of years, and he's quite meticulous, so I listened when he referred them. Then, when I talked to the people from Rhino Shield and they came to give an estimate and an overview of how the operation would work from start to finish, I was pretty satisfied.

They did exterior painting work for me. They came out, gave us a number, told us what they were going to do, and did exactly what they told us. They warrantied their product, and so far it's been good. I chose them because of the extent of their warranty and because they would replace the product if it started to fade or deteriorate—it was mostly their warranty that caused us to pick them. We've also talked to previous customers, and they've all had good experiences. We have not had any issues yet, either; it's only been a couple of years, but so far, so good

Our cedar sided house needed staining. We felt this was always going to be something we would have to do over & over again. Solid stain didn't last any better than transparent stain. We had recently replaced our wood deck to Trex so no more staining that monster. Then I found the ad for Rhino Shield, & I am glad I did! The 25 year warranty was best of all. Everything was so different from regular paint. Two different under coats, a primer, & one for the paint to adhere, then the special thick ceramic paint applied. But not before everything was meticulously taped off. We didn't just have our cedar done, we had all the gutters, alum. doors, windows, garage door, & wood deck railings that were unfinished because we added a section to our deck. The colors were matched exactly to everything we had. When finished, they took us around & asked about every single spot that might be questioned. They had replaced cedar boards that were bad as well. They came every day without fail & showed a level of professionalism rarely seen. It was a family unit. And one day the head of the family got ill. We didn't know until then next day, because, while someone took him to the hospital, the rest stayed behind to work. That was in June, 2018. This year, 2019, we bought a shed, & it was delivered to our home. Because we could not get a color even close to our house color, we hired Rhino Shield again to paint the shed. We wholeheartedly endorse this company! This is an honest review.

First, check reviews for these guys on Yelp and Facebook. Clearly, many or even most of these 30-some Google "reviews" are clearly bogus--all written 2 years ago and most very generic. Second, I have filed a Better Business Bureau complaint on this company due to dishonest, unscrupulous behavior and above all else, breach of contract. My story is long but I will include a condensed version to sum up my experiences with this company and it's inexcusable business practices. I know the product may seem appealing but I would urge you to take your business elsewhere. Those who run this franchise are nothing short of deceitful rip-off artists. Please understand, I have formal, signed, written documentation to support everything I state below. The bottom line is that after the LEGALLY BINDING contract was signed by all parties, the "owners/managers" started trying to weasel more money out of me. When I refused, that is when these guys revealed their truly deceptive practices! My BBB complaint ID is 12749460 (filed 3/21/2018) and reads as follows: "In September of 2017, after calling Rhino Shield of Chicagoland, Anthony Boldrini Jr came to our house to provide a quote on a 25-year ceramic coating system (Rhino Shield Paint) to the trim, doors, etc. of our brick home. There was (and is) peeling/chipping paint on those areas of the home which were to be worked on. After the initial proposal was given at $10,645, (I have this proposal) and several phone conversations, a legally binding contract was signed for the work to be done for $11,045 (I have the contract, as well, signed 10/8/2017). [This work was to include the stripping of the areas to be painted] A week or two later, two men (claiming to be with Rhino Shield) showed up (unannounced) to my property to look at the work to be done. They said they thought maybe the contract-agreed-upon price was too low but they'd go back to the office and "figure it out." I received no communication. I called repeatedly but the managers/owners were always "out of the office" and never returned calls. Finally, I left a message stating that I would be going to the BBB. Almost immediately, I got a call from Anthony Boldrini Sr. He stated the work would be done (with warranty) but not all stripping would be done as originally stated in contract. I reluctantly agreed. He also stated that it was too late into the fall to begin work but it would be done first thing Spring of 2018. I told him to take the $3300 deposit but he said it wasn't necessary. Forward to March 2018, I tried contacting Tony Boldrini Sr two times with no response. Finally, I received a call back from a "manager" stating they wouldn't do the work that, on several occasions, was promised would be done. I stated at that point that I would be going to the BBB and hung up the phone. The people at Rhino Shield have lied, misled, avoided responsibility, placed blame on several of their own, and most importantly, have broken the contract (which again, I have in my possession). This has been incredibly frustrating and it should have never been allowed to happen."

We were delighted with Rhino Shield. They put a ceramic finish on the exterior of our house, and it was a super, super positive experience. Their product is super high quality, and they did a great job. We went with a custom color, and they were super patient with us to get it right. I'd definitely give them an A.
