I found CHJ based on the reviews at YELP. They just finished my basement which last over a week. With the quality of work and timely manner they delivered, I feel lucky that I made the right decision to go with Chris and his team for my basement project out of 5 other quotes I received. Right after I contact CHJ, Chris came out and provided me a detailed estimate which includes installation of drywall, baseboard, chair rails, painting the walls and trims as well as finishing the stairs in the basement and connecting new cabinet with sink in the bathroom in the basement. With the details on the estimate and reasonable price they offered, we started soon after the estimate. It turns out they did an excellent job during the whole process and kept me updated on the project status all the time. This team kept my home clean and is very polite, considerate, detail oriented and well organized. Highly recommended!

CHJ Painting Painted our Wilmette home interior complete. I was amazed how quickly the got the job done. They were on time, professional and polite. We recently bought our home in Niles which needed some work. We then found out that my parents were planning to fly in and visit for Christmas. A neighbor referred us to CHJ Painting. Chris and his crew were able to paint our upstairs and make repairs in the kitchen and bathrooms and make our house beautiful for the holiday with very short notice. I hired CHJ Painting for my kitchen, living, and dining room remodeling project. Last time I hired a cheaper guy, but in the end cost more than CHJ, and the work wasn't nearly up to my standards. This time, I went straight to CHJ having learned from experience, and I am completely satisfied that I did. The renovations: Chris did not just do the painting, but demoed the kitchen and ugly ceramic floors, removed a wall and installed a header above the ceiling, painted and installed trim. He referred me to his electrician who was also top notch and worked with Chris on timing to get the job done as quickly as possible. He even brought in his engineer to ensure the best design to remove the wall, install the header hidden in the ceiling, and fix the sag in the ceiling. Professionalism: Chris is very transparent on costs by providing a written estimate and a timeline on everything. Him and his guys also came back on several occasions to re-finish and touch up everything after we completed the renovations, and has an eye for details. More items were added during the course of the project which also wasn't an issue. He is a good guy to work with, and I will hire him again soon.

Over the past 5-months we hired CHJ do two painting and remodeling projects. Because of their performance on the first project I didn't even consider going to anyone else for the second project. The first project was a small bathroom remodel which included new floor tile, regrouting of the tub/shower, installation of a new toilet and vanity and painting of the room. When the toilet was removed there was obvious leakage. Subflooring had to be removed and the toilet drain pipe replaced. Chris did a great job showing and explaining the problem and was able to get the job back on schedule in relatively short order. The final result was great! The regrouted tub/shower looks brand new and that saved us money compared to replacing that tile. Our second project included painting of our second floor, painting of our living room ceiling, new tile in our main bathroom, replace carpeting in a hallway with laminate flooring, replace tile steps to our basement with stained wood stairs, replace paneling with drywall and install two wood railings. We requested that the work be split into two parts and Chris had no problem doing that. Overall the projects took about 7-days to complete. Chris and his guys were meticulous in their work, taking no shortcuts and again the results were excellent. Chris and his guys are punctual, polite and respectful. They clean up everyday and keep the mess of construction to the absolute minimum. They were flexible in working with our schedule. My father owned and operated a painting company for over 30-years and I worked for him every summer. I know what good work looks like and what it takes to satisfy customers. In my opinion you can't go wrong with CHJ.

I had CHJ painting paint the entire interior of a three-bedroom house in Evanston. Then I had them completely clean the house and wash all the windows, inside and out. Then I had them selectively paint worn or flaking spots on the exterior of the house. The workers were fast and professional, the work itself was beautiful, everything was protected during the work. I would definitely hire them again.

On very short notice and at the recommendation of our realtor, we contacted Chris at CHJ Painting to paint our living room, dining room and ceiling. As we have put our house on the market, we needed it done quickly.. They gave us a very fair quote and showed up 2 days later, much to our delight. They worked 10 hours on both Friday and Saturday to finish ahead of schedule. The two painters could not have been nicer or more professional. They did such a good job of taping off the rest of the house that we had no dust or debris anywhere. The quality of the paining was excellent. Could not recommend them more highly.
